17. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?
The courses are very broad topics and fundamental. Summer class is very tight time to learn the whole chapters. It should be taking longer time to learn in. It will be very nice for tutorial section are grouped more than 2 people in a group, and the topics are focused on essential problem or issues in the chapter covered for the week. It could be also collaborated with discussion section among groups related to the chapter taught and something related to daily life.
I don't know she is pretty thorough . Maybe curve a little bit.
She uses appropriate methods of delivery, encourage students, provide regular homework and feedback
more "hands on"/interactive activities **more thorough exam preparation don't rely on the lecture slides too much
More videos! The videos were all awesome and helped in the learning of the material.
I really enjoyed learning from Abby this semester, she explains everything in detail and always asks us if we have any questions. Overall there is nothing I can say to help improve at this time.
Abby could tone down her awesomeness. It can sometimes be distracting.
Include more points for homework, and participation.
I wish that the course material, slides and homework, would be out about a week early before the week its being presented instead of just a weekend before. Other than that nothing...it was great how it was.
Skip using potential lecture time to talk about CV writing.
I think it's difficult to say since there is so much material to cover in such a short amount of time. I think what would probably help is to really pick and choose a little more of what should be important concepts to stress when holding lectures for the students. It was a little difficult to really catch which concepts were more important than others and because we have such a limited amount of time to learn the material, it would help a lot if instead of having us read and learn everything in the given chapters, focus on the details for those that will more likely show up on the exam and teach more general concepts on those that may not be as important or won't be worth as much on the exam. Abby stated in the beginning of the semester that it isn't just about the grade but that the course will teach us valuable lessons for future use. However, the grade portion is a HUGE factor in this, especially for students who need this class to get into graduate programs. As much as students want to learn something new, getting a good grade is even more valuable from the student's point of view because schools place so much emphasis on getting good grades. I think it's quite difficult for students to learn 2 chapters WELL in a week's time so emphasizing those concepts which are of more importance and will most likely show up on the exam would be extremely helpful in prioritizing studying. Of course, the other concepts that may not be as important, but are still important, should be covered but with less emphasis (especially when preparing for a cumulative final exam)!
Mmh ... maybe a ppt that summarizes all math related topics that could possibly show up in the final exam might be helpful. Otherwise, there is nothing I could thing of.

Lectures
The homework was very helpful when preparing for an exam.
All materials interested
Abby was very helpful and would try to make the material easy to understand.
I really enjoyed the homework and her morning videos before lecture. The homework helped me substantially in identifying the key concepts of the chapters.
Abby stuck to the schedule which was great. Sometimes teachers feel a need to surprise students with pop quizzes or HW at random. Abby did not do any such thing. The problem with surprises is that not everybody has a flexible schedule and it helps to have a reliable agenda like Abby's so that a student can plan for it. To me that's professional and students still learn the material without having to feel like killing themselves from having to follow a chaotic schedule.
I enjoyed the pace at which the class ran.
I thought the course was great. It was a lot of material but not too much that I couldn't handle it. The was it was broken up worked good for me. I also like how organized the course was and the homework because it made me actually read the book. Oh and I really liked the questions in the class, definately do those!
I liked that Abby was able to apply a lot of the concepts we learned to real life things versus just sticking straight to the text of Lehninger.
We had a tutorial in which we discussed case studies. I really enjoyed it and it helped me to understand the differences between different pathways and what happens if an intermediate is missing. Also, I liked the ppt slides a lot and the homework assignments helped me prepare for the exams. But what I valued the most was the fact that Dr. Cuttriss always responded to my emails (and also in a timely manner)!
