18. My overall evaluation of this course is...
Excellent!
All three instructors were so very amazing! I am so glad that they led this clinic this semester. They were very knowledgeable of family law! I was able to learn so much from them! I really enjoyed having the opportunity to accompany them to the court and observe them with their clients! All the material covered was very relevant and very useful! What I liked about this clinic was that we actually went over the paper work that is involved in family law. This is something that was so foreign to me prior to this clinic. While I might have read about the various forms that need to be filled out, I never actually saw them before. Furthermore, by going through the forms, this class provided some real world skills that are essential as we are nearing graduation. The mock trial was also great because we got a chance to practice the skills we were learning. The mock trial was also a great exercise for when we actually did go to court and represent a real client. As for the TRO where we were given the opportunity to represent a real client - that was the most amazing experience. To actually stand in front of the court and zealously advocate for your client was amazing!!!
Tara was great. She really broke the course materials down for us to understand. She was patient. I really liked our mock oral arguments before real judges. It was nerve wracking, but it really helped me get more comfortable speaking in front of people and judges.
Of the 3 clinics I have taken, this is by far my favorite. The professors were excellent. They allowed us to participate in activities that we were interested in, and we were able to get great practical experience. I have been recommending this course to my classmates.
The three instructors for this course were fantastic. I learned so much this semester. We were provided with a number of practical experiences that really helped me understand some core principles of family law. I loved the class. The class challenged me to go beyond my comfort zone. I would much rather read and write. However, in this class I was forced to go to court for observations, conduct a client interview, even represent a client in an actual TRO. It was an amazing experience. I'm so happy I took this class.
All three of the instructors were very experienced and knew family law well. I appreciated many of the classes. I realize that the forms are very important to family law and I do think it's helpful to go through them, but I would have liked more real life simulations. I didn't think the opening statements classes were very helpful. Perhaps, better preparation would have helped. At times, the class seemed disorganized and scattered; not as intentional and structured as it could have been. It was often very slow paced and disjointed.

Great course.
I appreciated Desiree's enthusiasm, Tara's knowledge, and Stacia's practical experiences. They are very good people and probably very good attorneys. I suspect once they all get a rhythm in place and find a formula that works, they will be very successful.
