12. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

Professor Moore was very knowledgable and passionate about the subject he was teaching. He seemed genuinely interested in teaching the students the material. He was clear and concise in his lectures and answered questions and encouraged the students to give their opinions on the various topics discussed. He is very approachable if help is needed and is quick to responds to emails. Great course and great teacher.

it made this years election even more exciting for me. i enjoyed hearing what my fellow students thought about the candidates. i also really enjoyed the assignments he gave us, especially the assignment requiring us to work for a campaign. it was an eye opening experience.

He is a fantastic teacher. I found him to be knowledgeable and approachable. I learned so much in this class. Additionally, deepened my understandings of the content with which I was familiar. Dr.Moore was available to students outside of class and was helpful in office hours. I enjoyed this class and this professor. He presented the material so that it was interesting (even the less exciting topics) and engaging.

Very engaging. Dr. Moore looks to not only teach the information by looks to explain why so students get a sense of how layered politics and elections are. Dr. Moore is not afraid to say he does not know if a student stumps him with a question. Basically he provides a great learning environment.

I enjoyed the fact that he was consistent and delivered on his promise of bringing a candidate to speak to us. There was a great mix of application (volunteering in a campaign) lecture, videos, humor, and news that made this course the highlight of my semester. He was always enthusiastic and everything he presented had relevance to today's current issues. I especially enjoyed the discussions generated from when he gathered students' opinions on the recent news. The open forum was also valuable because the opinions were so diverse. He seemed to value our opinions and when he would take the opposite side of an argument it challenged us to reconsider certain points, allowing us to think critically instead of accepting what he said and nod. He also made himself available for reviews and other course work, which helped out in the process. Big plus: he made an effort to know our names.

I only had one unanswered question pertaining to the political views of college faculty, but understanding his position as a faculty member I knew it was better left unsaid. Other than that I was completely satisfied with the course.

hes an awesome teacher. he listens to his students and goes above and beyond to help them do well (like holding study sessions outside of normal class hours)

It was nice that Dr. Moore taught both the authoritative political science literature and incorporated the current events and ongoing political / electoral news and information. That approach is and has been the best way to study elections! Thanks!

I hope he doesn't stop teaching; my only regret is to not have taken his courses early on in my undergraduate career.

He is a very outgoing person, this makes him very easily approachable for any kind of questions.

His lecture style enables the students to engage in interactive discussions which makes learning more interesting. Also, his use of video clips are very helpful.

The in-class discussions were most valuable in understanding the course content.

He was incredibly helpful and able to communicate his knowledge with our class while keeping it very interesting. I like the fact that he is very unbiased when presenting lectures, which is a nice change from MOST Of the very biased liberal political science professors at this University.

Colin Moore displayed a clear interest and passion for American Politics. His discussions were well planned and thought out. On top of all of this, he has a great sense of humor, which makes the class a joy to attend.

Very approachable, so asking questions wasn't too painful. Responds very quickly to emails.

He seemed available to help students

Professor Moore was very clear in his lectures and I was able to learn a lot as a result of that. It is obvious he knows what he is talking about. I also enjoyed the use of videos and outside news links they helped me learn the class material more effectively.

Great with students, appraochable, and made it a fun class, which is good considering how politics can be quite depressing and convulted at times. He was able to engage the class and made great efforts to have our opinions shared and seek our viewpoints on issues. He made it a very equal and open class environment.

I enjoyed his humor; likewise, he seems very knowledgable concerning American Politics. His expectations are also clear and he is readily available for assistance.

His broad base of knowledge

He has a great ability to get his students to approach the subject matter with passion. He also gets to know his students personally which brings the most out of us. I believe that I have learned more from him about politics in America than anyother professor. I believe that he may posses the strongest teaching skills that I have ever encountered.

Professor moore really knew his stuff every lecture was filled with tons of useful information relateing to the course

he makes the class interesting and has awesome feedback to questions and answers alike.

Every Political Science major should take this course with Colin Moore. I am 100% positive that they'll enjoy it as much as I did.

I hope more political science courses are taught in this manner.

This class was a lot more interesting than i thought it would be. I would recommend both the teacher and the class to other students

A necessary but still often depressing and confusing course, as American politics generally is. But Colin Moore effectively steered us through the dry topics and kept us engaged and active. Colin is a great professor in my book.

I took this class last semester with nitz he was terrible everything he lectured was irrevalant to the course. Professor Moore showed through scholary expertise that he knew the material very well and his lectures proved that. One of the best professors in the poly sci department in my opinion

Discussions part

Everything. I learned lots more about the United States politics and the problems that the United States' face in our contemporary society. It was great to learn how our elections are run and learning more about the three branches of our government.

Every aspect was very valuable, as we needed to know everything to get the whole picture.

Learning about how the history of politics as well as it's modern day counterpart affect my life.

In class movies and power point presentations.

The course was simple, not complicated. It was easy for me to begin to understand things about politics, even when I knew nothing about it.

Graphs on power points were usually too complicated

I think that everything was valuable in itself, and added to the importance of other topics.

Everything was useful including the 3 major essays.

Love discussion with him!

He is a very good professor, and he explains everything thoroughly. He uses different types of teaching skills, and allows the class to have discussions, ask questions when he's lecturing, and also asks the students questions. He seems very happy and enthusiastic in teaching the subject. I learned a great deal by taking this course, and I'm very grateful and glad that I took it.

He is an incredibly smart man and knows a lot about politics. It is very clear how much he loves this field and how enthusiastic he is about this course.

I definitely felt that going to Professor Moore's office to talk was the most beneficial part of the course, he's extremely knowledgeable and he gives good guidance.

Class discussion was a very valuable aspect of this course. Also, the professor's knowledge and teaching skills are another valuable aspect. Professor Moore presented the information and was concerned with our perspective on the subjects taught.

Professor Moore's Powerpoint slides were very informative and well organized. He also used a lot of interesting data in order to make what he taught more viable to students.

Learned a lot on the history of politics and how they affect today's world.

Professor Moore describes all viewpoints...really good that he was able to explain them all to us.

The Professor clearly knows the subject matter and communicates effectively the important points of each lecture.

Professor Moore's lectures helped me gain a better understanding of the American political system. The assigned readings were also really interesting.

He uploads everything online so it was very helpful for exams.

Professor always went over material covered from last lecture and explained it in a concise and clear way. Many of the readings made much more sense after he went over them. His supplemental materials (videos) were also very interesting and thought provoking.

The powerpoints were extremely helpful for the midterm. It's hard to go back and reread previous readings. Having a sort of recap of the important points helped me to understand.

The tests were very helpful in re-inforcing the topics covered in class.

Power points and videos made the materials more understandable.

loved that all of our lectures are posted online at the end of the week. Like how the instructor gave us an outline on what we are learning about on a weekly basis. Loved all of the data that is presented in the class to help give a better understanding.

not having that many assignments was tough to really make sure that you had a good understanding before a test. more assignments would have made the class better.

Professor Moore is an amazing professor.

Really enjoyed this class...just by looking at Professor Moore, you know he is smart.

Professor Moore always gave interesting lectures and it was obvious that he has put a great deal of time and thought into preparing his lectures. I look forward to taking any other courses he teaches.
