13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He knew the material and could show the proofs, quickly and effectively. He could also answer any question reguarding the topic bythe student.
Knowledge in the field. Making things understandable in the students eyes
Super easy
Knows the subject matter extensively, but presents the oftentimes complicated theories with simplicity and conciseness, making it easy for students to grasp the underlying principles.
smart, encourages participation
It was obvious he knew the subject area and he made his students motivated to learn because it was obvious that he was passionate about his teaching. Other teachers seem to only be there because it's a job, not because it's something they love to do.
His course objective and procedure was clear to the students.
He knows the materials very well and he used the video's to help us understand more.
Very knowledgeable on the subject.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
projects. it's easy for someone to just answer questions from the book, but may not beleive it, or beleive they couldn't arrive at answers on their own.
More informative about the lectures. More main points with subpoints than just randomly talking through the chapters
None, I really like the idea of the take-home quizzes, and the use of video to provide visualization of astronomical principles in action.
Perhaps breaking down the material a bit more to a level where the entire class could understand what was being taught. Don't get me wrong, he was an awesome teacher, I think he would be way up top though if he slowed down with his method just a little bit.
Go over the course content a little more, or at least what is going to be on the exams.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He actually answered their questions and showed proofs.
There wasnt really much concern other than letting students that were borderline still had a chance.
He made sure all students understood the material, and the coursework itself.
he let us know ahead of time when we'll have tests and quizzes
He graded all the assignments fairly and when someone missed class with a valid excuse, he always gave them time to make up the work. He didn't want anyone to fail.
Encouraging us to learn.
Allowed to take tests after it was given.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
it's a good class for students going into the sciences. it shows proofs and concepts that would be later used in for specific physics studies.
Yes because hes a cool guy and can have debates with him in a subtle way all day long!
Maybe, he's an easy teacher
Yes, good at making a complicated subject easy to visualize and understand.
yes, because he is a good teacher
Yes! Astronomy is such an interesting class and Mr. Kadala just topped it off because he's a very fun teacher.
Yes, because he's very clear and he knows the materials very well.
Yes, interesting class...
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
The man can crunch numbers like I didn't think possible, by hand.
Thanks for the class and good luck with next year!
He made the subject matter very interesting as well.
he made astronomy fun to learn. I enjoyed the videos we watched in class
