| Lt.Col. Mori was a great lecturer. He was able to get the facts about
international criminal law and the law of war across in an exciting and
stimulating way. It was a great class with interesting readings and
assignments. The discussions in class were very educating, though provoking,
and exciting. |
| Col Mori brought real-life into the classroom. He related his own marine experiences to current
conflicts. He always insisted that we refer to the documents, treaties and legal ramifications of
every problem we delved into.
Mori makes teaching a pleasure by interspersing wonderful Youtube and other videos with his
power points. Thus the need to face both horror and humor were made explicit.
He masterfully invites the student participation and engages each with one another. He uses
simulatios to define issues. He encouraged us to think about our future careers with moral and
scholarly insight.
He invited top lectureres and scholars from here and the Mainland.
Not only is he a scholar and a teacher he is a warm personable human being who has already
touched many of our lives with his thought-provoking challenges.
I would certainly recommend him for a diverse group of students including, lawyers, social
scientists, historians, military personnel and families following war atrocities.

| Professor Mori is an incredible professor. Being from a military
background, I was afraid that he would present topics with a clear slant
towards military views. Rather, he was able to present unbiased views on
all topics we covered and encouraged students to debate their opinions on
tough subjects in class. I always looked forward to coming to class, not
knowing which direction the discussion would go but sure that I would come
out of class with a clearer understanding of the material assigned.
Overall, Professor Mori is clearly very knowledgeable about the subject
matter and is eager and willing to share his knowledge with his students
and answer any questions they may have. I was very impressed to take his
class and would enjoy taking any other classes he offered. |

| I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would recommend it to anyone. The course content was very interesting and I enjoyed the lecture/discussion format of the class. This class has motivated me to take more of a personal interest in instances of armed/non-armed conflict and I hope to be able to continue my learning after this class has ended. I would definitely take another class taught by Professor Mori again. |
| I greatly enjoyed this class and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Professor Mori made the material interesting and easy to understand through use of both real-life examples and imagined scenarios. The class encouraged me to think about the material in a critical way.
I think that the discussion-based structure of this course was better than a traditional lecture due to the variety of opinions in the class and the difficulty of defining many of the topics. |
