7. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
|
| Practicing the data cleaning and reporting. |
| The explanations of the different models were incredible. Really easy for students on many different levels of statistical knowledge and experience to understand. |
| I really liked that classes were conducted in the computer lab, especially since I was not familiar with
SPSS. It was also nice because we were able to save our outputs and go back to look at them later. |
| I enjoyed all aspects of the course, and I think that all the assignments and lectures were valuable. The course's most valuable asset is Kathleen herself, who is an absolutely amazing professor. It was obvious that she cared greatly about our learning and stats comprehension. |

13. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
|
| Could add one or two more topics |
| Slide presentations and demonstrations in SPSS were outstanding. |
| The only thing is that sometimes when she misspoke or made a small mistake, I would sometimes
get confused about what was correct and what wasn't. Just clarification when something is said
wrong would be nice. |
| Assess students' baseline knowledge at the beginning of the course. Shorten first assignment, which took forever. |
| She is fabulous and teaches statistics in a very applied, helpful way. |

16. Other comments:
|
| The class did exactly what it needed to do -- served as a very applied refresher for stats and basic multivariate techniques, and an introduction for more advanced stats.
I wouldn't have wanted it to be my ONLY introduction to multivariate methods (and it wasn't intended for that), but it was really great to go back over multiple regression/anova/ancova a year after having taken multivariate methods, and nail down any loose floorboards, make sure that we really understood, in a very practical way, how to use the techniques in our research and write up the results.
She did a really nice job in looking for our idiosyncratic gaps and deficits, and filling them in. The assignments and exams all had clear rationales, and everything seemed focused towards specific student outcomes. It was a very well-done class. |
| Very accommodating instructor who showed that her main interest was facilitatiing understanding for all students. GREAT course! |
| Kathleen, are you sure you don't want to live in Hawaii and teach here??? We would LOVE to have
you!! Thank you for taking so much time outside of class to help us and being willing to teach a
course during your sabbatical. |
| Best stats class I've ever taken and best stats professor I've ever had. |
| This was a great class. Glad we had Kathleen teach it! |
