16. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

He's very laid back, but expects you to learn the material. Which he should. He teaches using the book very well. I enjoyed his classes-he knows the subject. His explanations are better me to understand as a subject. He teaches us easy way to learn about anatomy and physiolosy. Teach the subject related to real situation.... that was very helpful. he shows that he truly cares about the class He instructed, prepared carefully, and helped us to deal with every chapter Teacher knew subject. he knows his subject well.. He was a very caring and good teacher. Cared a lot about his students and explained material very well. Also knows the subject very well. He makes it easy for us to study. Very entertaining speaker. Very good at relating subject matter to real-life examples, when he chose to do so. Told us what materials might be on the test. hes kool with a "k" provided great study guides to aid students for tests and final exam Dr. Pfeffer is very concerned about his students. Making zool 142 as interesting as possible. He took out time to make study guides per chapter for the students to work on and prepare for his chapter exams. He also explained the materials well. knew subjectg area, made class fun for learning being smart Makes good examples on the subject how he knows what he is teaching.. he really makes it fun and draws attention to certain subjects He showed he was concerned about his students. He made us study guides for each chapter to help assist in understanding the chapters. He left you with the option of completing the study guide, it was up to you to complete them. The study guides were a guideline in helping get a general idea of each chapter. hes funny as hell! i like his guy humor. he talks about things and gets away with it. kinda like me. He allows us to think for ourselves, and brings out our creative side as far as different ways how to do well .What I have learned in his class ranges far beyond human anatomy and physiology. When you get into the medical field, you need to already have methods of study and how to learn material. Dr. Pfeffer encourages this and gives us tips and advice on how to succeed. He knows his subject material very well, it is not a question wether he knows his material or not. He helps out if if are in need and keeps us currently updated on how we are doing. He makes a tough subject like zoology easier to learn. Dr. Pfeffer's major strengths as a teacher is his ability to make the material as fun as possible to learn. He enjoys his subject matter and it carries over to the students. Dr. Pfeffer is great because he is very understanding to his students. He lets you make up tests that you missed and he gives you study guides for every chapter. He really challeged me in this lab class. I felt like he expected a lot which motivated me to work hard! He concerns about students so much!!! he always gives us many chances to get a good grade.

18. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

Well I want him to keep continue the way he teaches the figure (p/c) and go over with lecture and questions. i wouldn't change anything Nothing! That was already enough for me! Nothing stick to the topic... don't go out of the box... make the exam question understandable... there's a question that have two possible answers... rephrase the questions if it's understandable.. Please leave a side not to yourself on where you left off in your lecture so you don't always have to ask us on where we left off at. No changes needed, a very good teacher! He help us study hard to study hard. Study guide was very helpful, but maybe should involve less class time. Days that only covered the study guide using Powerpoint were not as engaging. Lectures that applied the subject material to real-life examples (i.e., discussing the real-life example of child that consumed too much potassium chloride) were more helpful & made the material easier to remember. Easier to learn material when it is applied and not just a concept. He was a little too lenient on the exams and grading. I appreciate that he gave students the opportunity to succeed, but students were given too many opportunities to make up exams. If a student missed multiple exams without a good reason, their grades should be penalized. It's a little unfair to the students that consistently study hard and attend class. NA Nah. none None. None, but maybe keep the study guides under 200 q/a none none None nothing Just to be more organized. no changes. his style of teaching makes the go getters study on their own. he does not believe in holding students hands. Maybe transition more to technology of the 21st century. No changes none None..he's fantastic!

19. How did the instructor show concern for students?

He told you what you need to do to get an A in the class-he gives the students every opportunity to do well in this class. When ever student workhard and respectful... he always willing to help and guide the student. he provided extra help for us in order to study better I have no ideas! He was flexible with his scheduling. tells us what to study for the test... He explained the subject very well. Made sure we were prepared for all tests and exams. He showed our scores from the exams. Always asked for input regarding the helpfulness of the study guide, if we needed to go over anything, etc. Told us what we needed to undrstand about each chapters main concepts for the test. he made powerpoints. asked students if we had any questions answered questions right away encouraged students to do better on tests He let us re-take tests if we could not take them the first time, and he always gave us plenty of time to learn the information. In every way possible. If it wasnt for DR P's form of teaching i probably would of turned to a different field of study. Dr. Pfeffer allowed students to retake any 2 chapter exams for a better score [: showed us our grades promptly by encouraging them to study harder He tells us and shows our grades to us he wanted everyone to understand the material and wanted us to get a good grade Yes definitely. The students were his main concern. Refer to ques. 18 by letting students retake and restudy the bad exam grades and lets tehm drop 3 of the lowest test scores. if thats not showing concern..then i dont know what is!!! Kept us constantly updated with grades and gave us advice on where we were weak if we asked. He was available during office hours and even outside office hours. He was great at letting us know how to strengthen our weaknesses and become a better overall student. He answered emails promptly and let you make up tests. I had a really tough semester as my grandmother's health started to decline rapidly in October. Dr. Pfeffer worked with me to make sure that I was able to make up the work that I had missed and allowed me to make up tests that I was forced to miss due to meetings with doctors, social workers and hospice. I know that he was as caring and supportive of other students that suffered losses this past year. He was very flexible with makeup tests because he understands that people go through tough times sometimes. I felt like I could approch him with my concerns and he addressed them in an honest and frank manner. Also, he gave the class lots of opportunities to get an 'A' through hard work! He knows we have much things to do for other classes, so he always trys to help and give us chances to make up the tests and retake tests. That helped me a lot.

20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes, I liked his way of teaching-and enjoyed the class. Yes...very much. yes i would recommend this instructor because he is awesome I have no ideas! Yes, teacher knew his subject well. yes, it's an easy A if a student attend class and study.. Yes i would recommend this teacher. He was great and i feel that i really learned a lot from taking him. Yes, he challenge us so much in studying. Yes. Yes. Easy to understand and helped me learn more on the human body. Interesting class. Yes i would because hes awesome. yes i would recommend this instructor to other students, he's very easy going and easy to understand his study guides are really helpful and straight to the point Yes Yes, I would recommend Dr. Peffer to oter students. He knows his material very well and is a joy to have as a professor. Also, his exams are very straight forward. yes because he is a great teacher yes because he's fun,smart, and diligent Yes he's a cool teacher of course, he makes study guide so we can independently study on our own Of course! Pfeffer is really interested in helping his students succeed. hes the man! hands down! Yes I would recommend him. You will learn tricks of the trade that you can take outside of zoology, and learn a lot about yourself in the process. ITS A CHALLENGING COURSE but with hard work and perseverance you will be rewarded in the end. Yes, he makes zoology easier to learn. I would absolutely recommned this instructor and have recommended him. YES definitely if you are one who can learn on your own by reading the book. He is hilarious and very nice. yes i would Definetly! He's smart and fun! YES. absolutely. His class is fun, and he gives us lots of chances.

22. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

Everyone says how easy Dr.Pefeffer's class is-because he gives out a study guide. I totaly disagree that he's "easy", I learned much more than I did in zoo141 with a different prof-he lets you know what need to be learned-you still need to know all the concepts and read the book. He teaches you how to study. Thank you .... I learned alot from him. he is the bomb I appreciate whatever you did for us. Your teaching way (preparing the study guides)made me easy to understand every tough chapters. And I also feel comfortable in learning in your class Thank you very much and I wish you are always healthy enough to teach us and go to surf everyday!!! Nothing else. he's a good instructor... Interesting, charasmatic, guy. Really enjoyed his class. I like how he's fair to his students Good instructor, great speaker, just wish he had cut down on the size of the study guide & devoted a little more time to his lectures. Hes a cool and funny teacher. nah great teacher fun class learned a lot Great teacher. Dr P you are a awesome teacher and thank you again. In this world there are very few individuals that stand out in my mind, but you are one of them. I hope to see you scuba diving. Thanks again study guides help a lot great job! None he is a very funny teacher.. I would take him again with no hesitation because he keeps the class going.. Great Professor! dr. pepper youre the man! keep it up. dont let haters bring you down! Thank you for your constant commitment Dr. Pfeffer. He is a great instructor. KCC and myself is honored and privlaged to have him as an instructor. I would say that as long as Dr. Pfeffer is teaching at KCC, you'll have a lot of students the exhibit a better understanding of Zoology. He is a great guy and i never dread going to class once. Just keep up with his study guides and you'll do fine in his class!! funny guy had fun in his class I think that he is taken for granted. He really knows a lot and has a lot of experience! I really valued his opinions! I really enjoyed his class!!! I really like him as an instructor and as a person. Thank you very much.
