13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Her teaching method is unique and she covers many ways to approach teaching a student about a topic.
Carol Beresiwsky is the best language teacher I've had while completing the UH language requirement. She makes herself accessible to her students, even despite having an online class and is always available to answer questions students may have. She also assigns interesting and relevant discussion topics, which allows her students to interact with each other while simultaneously learning.
understanding and passionate about espanol.
She is just an amazing teacher that always helps and gives me a better understanding of the materials and gave me examples to help grasp the concepts of the Spanish Language!
She has a great interest in the students learning not only spanish, but also about the many cultures that use spanish.
She is always available and willing to help; she is constantly online and available to chat and if not, she promptly replies to emails. She knows the subject matter and has the knowledge to be an effective teacher. She is very helpful and encouraging.
She is willing to help out and patient when there were any technical difficulties.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
A more clear syllabus on what assignments are due. Some days we had to speak, discuss and do assignments on another site. Other times only one or two of the above mentioned were projects. Tests and projects were due too close together although I understand that it was a condensed format for a summer class.
One change I would suggest is to make her homepage less confusing. Although it is colorful and interesting to look it, I think it would be beneficial to create different links for homework assignments and her lectures. The set-up she currently has is confusing and hard to follow.
none
I know that this course was very condensed and that it was modified for the summer. It was difficult to understand the syllabus. It was a little confusing.
It would be much easier if there were not so many websites to have to navigate through. For almost every assignment, we have to be on laulima, her personal website, and the imagina supersite. It gets confusing and if you don't have the best internet connection (which I don't) it makes everything much more time consuming than it should be (waiting for pages to load etc.).
None.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She always responded promptly and was attentive to helping us succeed.
Please see question 13
very supportive by being available online and answering emails promptly.
She was always willing to help and put side time aside for students that need help:-} She always gave suggestion and helped me understand if I got something wrong how I can improve on it.
The prof was available for outside of class tutoring and for chats on Laulima.
She consistently wrote us updates showing her understanding in regards to technical difficulties, assignment lengths and summer schedules, etc. She encouraged us to do our best to meet deadlines and made her presence and willingness to help known.
She left messages in her emails.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, I've learned more from her than from other instructors whom I've had "live" classes with. She teaches the material is an easy-to-understand way and is willing to work with you to improve in the class.
yes, because she truly wants her students to do well.
I would recommend Professor Beresiwsky. She makes Spanish a wonderful experience on line. This is one of my favoite classes and she is just and amazing professor.
Absolutely!
I would recommend her because she was helpful, encouraging, and friendly.
