13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Knew his area. Also made us realize that being a true culinarian is to accept criticism and to never be afraid to criticize others work.
Chef Peel always made a priority to make his students succeed. He is always thoughtful and always wanting his students to think outside the box.

Maybe speak a little louder and clearly. Sorry chef.
It was his first time teaching the class and theres always room for improvement such as standardizing syllabus procedures.

He would always message us what we would do for next class but we could also ask him other questions as well
He was always available during office hours and always asking us how we were doing.
Will go out of his way and work hours to help a students

Yes. He's very upfront and honest, something we need from every chef.

Knowledge of subject matter, and was available to give additional help, advice, and lessons outside the curriculum on a regular basis.
Chef Jason knew the subject well, and he also encourages his students to think outside the box.
He is very knowledgable and can relate very well to students.

Perhaps include more practical exercises to have students understand how to apply techniques in a restaurant setting.
More lectures, and demonstrations.

He would always ask us for suggestions of what we wanted to learn more about.

He is good at motivating you to think for yourself with some guidance, which is very helpful when you're trying to create a menu.

Maybe take the focus off of Kaiseki, while still covering the concept as part of the curriculum.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Very encouraging and helps strengthen student weaknesses.
His extensive experience in the food industry is strongly reflected in the way Chef Jason teaches. He teaches us to think as if we are working in an actual restaurant as opposed to just going to school. Chef Jason's creativity is also evident despite being restrained at times given the fact that he is teaching a competition class and therefore have to abide by strict acf competition rules.

Push student harder and be a little more strict.

Speaks to each student individually when they need help.
He constantly challenges us to push ourselves everyday to be better. He tells us on things that we can improve upon based upon the things that he sees us do.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I think Chef Jason is a good teacher. He has a plenty of fundamental and practical kitchen knowledge alike to share. There is a certain sense of warm-heartedness about him that makes approaching him easy. He is easy to relate to because he also was once a student at KCC and again, he has plenty of experience in the industry.
