35. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....

Brian Chung, though fresh out of college himself, is a great example of young teachers coming into the field to try and really connect with students. He had a professional manner which he tried to maintain in class, but even then when he started to connect with his students he stayed on topic, working with the time limit of the class and getting the main points of our work across. Overall, he is a great teacher and I would recommend anyone to taking any class he is teaching.

He is a smart and enthusiastic teacher who is always willing to help his students grow.

he's an OK professor at times the material seemed very repetitive but other than that his teaching style was easy to follow along with

He's a nice guy; in my personal opinion, however, I was unable to relate to him as much as I would have liked.

Very Good. He is an embodiment of what a professor should be; clearly understood and motivational. I like the fact that his thinking is very open, in which he can learn from students while teaching them.

38. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?

I liked being able to come to class and watch videos that may not seem like they had anything to do with the course material, when in actuality they had strong connections to the course and topics. I thought that this was a really cool, up to date way of getting our attention and bringing to light interesting topics.

I enjoyed the class presentations. I think they helped students learn the readings better and helped us work on our presentation skills.

I liked the idea that he incorporated open discussions during class. It gave many views that actually went along with specific topics in the readings and works.

39. Which aspects of the course did you like least?

The in-class discussions can be a little lacking.

I least liked the oral presentation, just for the sheer fact that Iam a bad oral presenter.

40. My overall evaluation of this course is...

Interesting course, I think Brian just needs to perfect it a little bit. Other than that its an interesting course to take, learning about all the different kinds of spaces that directly/indirectly influence our lives, how we move within those spheres, and how they can have micro and macro reactions to the larger world.

It is a good course to take whether it is a requirement or not. I learned a lot of new concepts that I can apply to my other ethnic studies classes as well.

Brian showed a lot of experience with Chinese issues and topics. He was very knowledgeable about the subject and was very enthusiastic about it.

I cant really think of an exact one --- They were all valuable and helpful!

Brian's approachable nature and willingness to help made asking any questions or getting clarification on any subject easy, and the general class format allowed for any and all questions to be answered

The discussions in class helped me critically think about the readings we had.

thanks for a great semester, brian, I'm glad you figured out how to use laulima.

I really enjoyed class. Brian showed a lot of enthusiasm for teaching and for learning from us. He did seem a bit intimidated by the amount of Chinese people in class and with the difference of Chinese/local culture is here. I think with more time and experience being here he can learn and become more comfortable with it. He definitely seemed very interested in learning more about it.
