12. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
The design builder software is one the most interesting simulation program out there. It can be of great help to one's design.
The concepts behind basic HVAC systems and CFD and their critical relationship to building design and performances.
13. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
I feel like there were more subjects and materials thrown at us and less time spent on digesting on those material. I feel like it would be more beneficial if we took things slower and get to know the material first before moving on to other complex concepts.
There was way too much math for a class that focused on concepts of architectural systems. I understood why teach us the math portion of the systems but at most times way to overwhelming and therefore almost loosing focus on the overall concept of the system itself. There was also a lot of course materials, leaning a whole new system each week was just too much added onto the difficulty of learning and understanding the mathematical equations taught last class.

28. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?
I like the fact that Manfred knows his subject very well. I would call him a very seasoned engineer !! He can be of great help to architects and future architects in the feild of simulation and sustainable design.
I enjoyed Manfred's enthusiasm for the course and his knowledge for architectural building systems. He was very experienced in the subject he taught, feel like I could ask him just about anything.
29. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?
I wish he was more easy on the material. There was a lot of material shoved in our brains literally, and the sponge can sometimes over flow and can't take more information.
He taught too fast, explaining things as though we can understand as quick as he taught.
30. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
Manfred teaching style is very aggressive. He will put all knowledge in your brain. That is good to some extent, but I think it is much better to slow things down a bit rather than rush it. I know it is a once a week class, but maybe the materials covered in class can extend to couple classes ahead so that way the students can better absorb the material.
I would focus more on concept and less on the mathematics behind it. I understand how the mathematics are important to the overall concept of building systems but somehow find a way to simplify it that could be better understood by non-engineering students. Also if you're going to have assignments using an unknown program I think it would have been better if we had more time teaching the program during class rather than having the students learn on their own outside of class especially when we have to do our assignments using them.

36. My overall evaluation of this course is...
Great class for those looking to get there design skills up using simulation. And I have to give credit to Sanphawat for helping to teach the class about the Design Builder program, great job Sanphawat and good luck teaching in Indonesia!
The course was interesting but too much towards the engineering side of building design. I understand that it would be good to at least learn the concepts behind building systems but dont think all that mathematics I was taught will ever be used in an architect's stand point.
37. State in two or three sentences how this course could be improved.
The course would have been improved if we spent more time on the program and learning from the program (design builder). I would like to see a class were we only focus on the design builder software only.
dedicate more class time to learning the unknown program. Also try splitting the class up into two days rather than one 3 hours class.
