19. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
|
| I liked being in the clinical setting with one-on-one learning by a mentor. |
| Everything |
| Professor Greywolf was extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable speaking my mind. |
| Professor Greywolf was always available and is a compassionate instructor. She was easy to talk to and always willing to help/answer questions. |
| Learning on a unit was more valuable than learning from a textbook. I feel better prepared to enter the workforce because of complex. |
| Conference meeting, clinical, and quality management project. |
| The clinical experience. Practice of independent work which helped to build my
confidence and competence.
The NCLEX questions used in class activities. |
| I really enjoyed working one-on-one with my preceptor. It allowed me opportunities I never would have received otherwise when doing clinicals with 9 other students in other clinicals. Being the only student on the unit allowed me all and a wider array of the opportunities that were made available throughout the shift and the duration of the clinical rotation. Also, doing a complete 12 hr shift helped me to become accustomed to the work hours and learn how to manage my time. I especially enjoyed working on a unit that I hope to work in in the future--it allowed me to "train" and actually see what it is like to work on the unit. |
| Excellent clinical experiences, fun reflection papers |
|
|
20. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
|
| The Capstone project because I felt that clinical experience and related work was more beneficial. |
| None |
| I felt Professor Greywolf was not given enough support from the rest of the department. She is new to the program and so she was a little unfamiliar with the project which made it harder on us to do it correctly. |
| nothing. |
| The issue of finding one preceptor to follow. It was difficult following numerous RNs and adjusting
to their standards and getting to know each one of them on a personal level. |
| I understand that it can't be helped, but I didn't like doing the clinical and
managerial reflection papers. Though, it did encourage me to explore the
various issues in the nursing profession; so that was interesting. |
| There are many aspects where expectations varied from instructor to instructor--for instance, how the powerpoint should be formatted differs from what was presented in class and what the instructor wants so it got a little confusing as to which to follow. Also, I think the syllabus should clarify the hours--instead of saying students will be given up to ____ hrs for conferences, etc., put that the student will need to acquire ___ conference hrs. First option sounds like we can go up until 20 hrs but it is not necessary. |
| Not enough clinical time with Prof Greywolf |
|
