2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?
This was not taken to fill my concentration requirements, actually I chose to take this course because I had an interest in learning how to better manage my personal finances and educate myself on how to plan for the future.
I think everyone, not just business majors, should take this class. The things we learned were totally relevant for anyone that plans to get a job, save for retirement or buy a car/house anytime in the future.
Course centered on information that was useful in every day life and the financial experiences that we would normally come across in every day life. Information was concise and informative as preparation for real financial experiences. Text book was great and very informative. One book to keep and use as a great resource.
This was not taken for course requirement for my major.
n/a. I took this class as an elective.
Great refresher course
I helped me to have a better understanding of personal finance to help improve my own life
knowledge and understanding of personal finance
I took this course as a way to educate myself on how to manage my family's finances. It has definitely held up to my expectations.
Allowed me to better understand how to better manage my own finances.
This class taught me a lot and may have even made me change my mind about my hopeful profession.

It taught me how to be prepared of how to manage my monies.
This was an elective course for me but it definitely provided useful information that ill take with me after I'm done with college.

I learned a lot of helpful things from this course. The things I learned will not only help with my major, but it will help me later on in life when i'm making certain decisions.
I really enjoyed this class. I don't think there are a lot of classes like this one that help prepare us for the real world and encourage to think ahead 5, 10 years from now. The written assignment was most beneficial an helped me understand how I would be able to purchase a home in the future.

5. Please comment on the activities or resources that could be added to this course to improve your learning.
There could be more resources available for distance learning students as a whole through the university of hawaii system as a whole, but this class in particular was very accommodating i feel.
The resources provided were very helpful.
Projects assigned were excellent on-hand tools. Although the second project was a bit intrusive into the private financial lives that we were requested to extract information from. An improvement to this would be to be given information in all areas of the assignment instead of extracting private information from individuals. At this level of instruction many found that this type of questioning was too intrusive and it became an obstacle for the student to complete the project. And since all potential prospects have different financial agendas, a more narrow and distinct level of informaion needs to be given to better access all levels of interest in the project lesson as a whole.
The course could have had quizzes for each chapters. Doing the homework is helpful, but it would be nice to have weekly/monthly quizzes that prepares us for the financial exam that cover all 14 chapters.

18. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
Instead of having one exam at the end of the semester covering all fourteen chapters, Professor Katie, should consider having multiple exams through out the semester covering a few chapters at time. She should provide practice questions for each chapter for exams, so students know what to expect.
It is hard to give any constructive criticism to someone who teaches you. I feel like Katie is a great instructor and has a natural ability to communicate with everyone and all types of learning styles. I understand that this is her first time teaching this course online and if she did not say that I would never have guessed that with her ease in the method of instruction.
The two written assignments were quite difficult. I think they are interesting, but could be modified.
See previous comments above
It would be nice to have some preparation for the final exam. The final exam is the largest part of our grade which covers 14 chapters. This is a lot of chapters for just one exam that we have no idea how the exam is going to be set up or structured.

Make the BlackBoard Collaborate mandatory. Its good to hear the lecture and it increases understanding for all learning types. Unfortunately when its optional, no one remembers or makes the time.
Having Blackboard Collaborate sessions throughout the semester was helpful for an online course. It also helped to make sure we were on the right track on understanding material and allowed opportunity for questions to be answered.

19. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
She's a good instructor, and she's very helpful when students need her assistance.
That teaching comes naturally to her. It motivates her and she is excited by helping others understand. Which is very refreshing to find in a teacher. I am grateful to have had Katie as an instructor in this type of class as I see myself as a sort of mathmatically challenged person, however, she was able to break everything down to a simple explanation that anyone could understand.
Great professor, very helpful.
Very personable and easy to converse with. She addresses problems and issues in a timely and fair manner. Blackboard Collabrate and weekly agenda information was very useful and was a useful forum to ask questions and communicate issues.
Very nice Professor. She answers and replies to email quickly. She is always there to help.
Very good class, useful to everyone
Professor Landgraf knows her material and cares for her students.

I really enjoyed having Ms. Landgraf as a teacher and learned a great deal in this course that I can apply not only to my own life, but others as well...
excellent teacher!
she was very prompt in responding to my emails. I felt like the course offered what I wanted/needed.
Professor Landgraf is a great professor. She was very understanding to my situation and always responded promptly to any questions.
Professor Landgraf is a GREAT teacher! I can tell that she is always looking out for her students and that it is very important to her that each and every one of us understands the material and knows what we need to do to be successful in her class. She is also easy to reach should we have any questions and responds to emails quickly.
Good instructor and great course. I will use all this information in the real world it was not a waste of my time I loved this class!
She is such an excellent instructor as well as a Professor.
She is a great professor.
Very approachable and knowledgeable. she provided excellent resources for our study.
She is very responsive to students' questions and is open and patient to helping us understand at the different levels we are at in regards to our understanding and personal experience with finance. This was key for helping me to understand the material and be encouraged to excel both personally and professionally.
She's a good teacher.
She is a great instructor and gave us assignments that helped give practical knowledge and help us think more in dept about the conten we've learned in the book. Keep up the great work

22. What did you like most about your online course experience?
I really like the weekly assignments online, they are very helpful because it gave me a better understanding on various aspects of each chapter.
I liked being able to have access to all the course materials anytime all the time. Distance learning is so ideal to those who have such busy lives and I love how accommodating this can be.
There were a lot of resources provided for this class, making it easier to understand.
Did not have to travel to school campus.
The course is simple and easy to follow. There are weekly homework and two written assignments. The homework has help tools and we have more than one try to complete. The book is easy to understand.
Professor Landgraf utilizes many tools that were essential in an online learning course and made the course easy to navigate be there any concerns. She was also very prompt in her response to offerring any help.

the flexibility of timing.
Convenience
I like that I can work at my own pace. I know that I have to be disciplined to make sure that I turn in my assignments on time, but as long as I keep track of due dates I can work as fast as I want. I also like the convenience and freedom to fit in my school work as I see fit within my busy schedule.
I liked that I was able to watch the blackboard after because I couldn't attend meetings. I have school at night and I work full time it is so hard.
Using the online program to complete the weekly assignments. It made it very organized
I can do my work when I have the time which is usually after work and in the evenings and weekends.
Katie Landgraf and her patience in teaching the material and working with students to help them understand.
I liked not having to physically go into a classroom every week.
Great
23. What did you like least about your online course experience?
I am not too fond of math at all, so I guess being timed on the assignments was a little tough, and missing those blackboard meetings due to time constraints.
The written assignments.
Questions from McGraw-Hill Connect had some errors which contradicted course material.
Trying to figure out how the final exam is going to be is very stressful. I wish that there were notes/tests along the way that prepared us for the final exam, so that there is less stress and fear of the final exam.

24. My overall evaluation of this course is...
I loved it and will recommend to anyone to take this course. If you havent taken the time to think about the course content and have never even considered things like life insurance and retirement planning, then this is the course for you to take in order to get a better understanding of how to take these steps in life.
Very interesting and useful.
Excellent course. Would recommend that it be part of the core sequence in the Business curriculum.
The course is insightful. I learned a lot of things that I did not know that relates to my everyday life. The written assignments were very real.
This was a good course in learning basics about finances and I would recommend Professor Landgraf.
Good course.
This was my first finance course and it was a great learning experience.

It was a great course that I would recommend everyone to take.
Great course
very useful. a must for Everyone!
A+
it was very fun! I enjoyed this class so much that I think I want to have a career in personal finance. This subject has always been of interest to me and it was taking care of my own personal finances that got me into the accounting major in the first place. i think that anyone could benefit from this course, whether accounting is their major or not. Even for someone who isn't even seeking a degree, I feel they should take this class. The material this class teaches you is just beneficial to anyone who deals with money.
Love this course I want to take it again!
It was interesting and very informational that I believe I'll be able to use it in the future.
Excellent Textbook!!! I want all my children to go through it!! it is very well written and it covers everything young adults need to know to manage their personal finances! Mahalo! Professor provided excellent lecture notes! she took the time to elaborate on what the text was teaching us!
It would be nice to possibly have a Part II or divide course material in half between 2 courses. It would be nice to be able to delve into chapter material exercises a little more. Perhaps dividing course into 2 would allow for more time to master concepts learned.
This course was really helpful.
Great course! Much needed

2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?
This course has provided me foundation to continue on with other accounting classes.
This course help me further understand the importance of accounting in the business world and how crucial it is keep up with your companies numbers!
Way more in depth than my previouse intro accounting classes. Feel like I know way more about accounting than after those first two classes
I learned a lot from taking this course but at times felt rushed. More time on chapters would help.
Gave me a better understanding of the overall accounting process.
I personally enjoyed hearing about real life examples from her past work experience in the accounting field. It made the subject seem more "real" than just studying from a book.
Katie helped me to better understand what was briefly covered in earlier accounting classes. She gave me an in depth understanding of financial statements, accounting principals, journal entries, and GAAP.
The course helped to teach me a the aspects of accounting I needed to know, but in a little more detail then 201 and 202.
It helped me expand my knowledge of Accounting. It showed me the depth of Accounting and that there is more to it than JUST debits and credits.
This class has taught me methods in accounting that I know I will be applying in my field of study. There were concepts taught that are only going to be beneficial to me in the future.
This course taught me the fundamentals of what accounting really is. I not only learned the concepts but I also know how I can use these tools in real life.
This course taught me the fundamentals for my accounting degree. It has helped me to understand material that may be used when I am working.
Better the understanding of accounting
This is a fundamental course for my degree. This course built on last semester's courses very well.
This course provided the next level of accounting material that I will need to fulfill my major. Katie was sure to cover vital material that is being utilized in the present workforce and gave me further insight into my field of study as well as possible career opportunities.
This course was taken to fulfill concentration requirements and I believe the courses content will be extremely helpful for accounting courses going forwards. The fundamentals I will take forward will be invaluable.
Helped me be more aware of financial things.
This course helped me learn some new accounting methods that will help me in my future and in my personal finance life.
This course broaden my knowledge on financial and managerial accounting.
i learn many principles and knowledges about accounting from Katie, and her lectures are super informative and useful for my future. Kaite is a very nice teacher at UHWO.

5. Please comment on the activities or resources that could be added to this course to improve your learning.
The lecturer handouts are really helpful which simplify and breakdown the lengthy definitin and examples provided in the textbook. I would like to have more ungrade practice to sharpen and broaden my knowledge. In additioin, I would love to read some supplementary material but not as part of the grade to help connect what is taught in class to the real world.
The Wiley problems and reading the lecture notes Didn't like the book so much
More time spent on key chapters 6-12 and less on chapters 1-5 since it is material we already went through in accounting 201
The wileyplus software is not very user friendly and at times made it quite difficult to complete tasks. Perhaps using better software would alleviate this problem.
The homework was difficult at times. Possibly make it so that students can revise their answer during a class session and resubmit their assignments would have helped a lot not only for our grades but to learn the material.
More whiteboard space for Katie to use would be of much assistance to me because I learn better when I am able to visualize what's going on.
there seem to be sufficient resources. With the exception of the lack of the digital book. But that was the bookstore's fault.
There was ample amount of resources that were given throughout the course, along with the textbook and online website (Wiley).
More practice problems. Espcially if she isn't going to recommend the book's method.
More sample problems. Allocate enough time to go over some of the homework problems.
I feel that Professor Langraph has provided many resources that has helped with the material covered in the class and in the book.
make the problems worth more points and less multiple choice
The resources provided were outstanding. The study material for exams was very helpful. A possible improvement would be not reusing the same problems from class for the study problems- often I understood the problem in class, but did would've benefited from a different problem in the review.
I wish that I had been informed by the bookstore that the loose leaf textbook did not come with the Wiley access code that would have proven useful during the semester. The lecture notes were very helpful and helped me a great deal in understanding the course material, completing assignments, and studying for quizzes and exams. I would have preferred either a bit more example problems during the lecture sessions or more homework assignments for additional practice to retain the course material.

her current lecture notes are very good, i like her lecture notes. also, hope she can have more resources/practice problems as extra credits for us to do, the resouces/pratice problems can teach us how to make more sense of the 4 basic fiancial statements.

17. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
I think she does a good job More practice problems maybe and put complete lecture notes up before class so we can follow along more easily
Using a different form of software than wileyplus may be beneficial for this course.
Just the homework wiley-plus difficulty issue. Other than that I enjoyed this course.
I really enjoy Katie's style of teaching & look forward to seeing her teach more courses. I wish she was with the university earlier because I would havve probably learned more by taking her courses. I also wish that I'm not graduating so soon because I'd like to take more courses taught by Katie.
I don't have suggestions for improvements. The lecture notes printed for each chapter were a huge help.
The amount of time for class may be out of the control of the instructor, but the amount of information that is taught in one class session is. There were days with perfect amounts of concepts that we went through, and sometimes it seemed really rushed and over the edge. I did learn a lot, the only downfall is sometimes the students don't understand the material because class time was rushed or there just wasn't enough time.
Lectures should be more organized. It felt like we were teaching ourselves a lot of the time. Teacher would get answers wrong and we'd have to constantly correct her.
It was a little hard to follow her problems and lectures if she didn't write everything down on the board. She seems to get lost in the problems sometimes. But when you learn to keep up and ask questions, it all make sense in the end.
Please allocate enough time for each chapter. Some chapters felt a little rushed.
Use PowerPoint for Lectures
I feel that she is a good teacher. There isn't anything that I can think of to improve on.
I have no suggestions for improvement. I think Prof Landgraf did a great job conveying the information in this course.
Katie's lecture notes, her availability, and her willingness to help proved to be the most useful to me. I would have preferred a bit more examples to be covered within the lecture sessions or homework problems to be assigned for the extra practice.
I was satisfied with her teaching methods.
I think that there was just a lot of material to cover and not enough time to go over it all.
not any.
i think she is a very good teacher and no any suggestions for her.
18. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
I enjoyed this class very much since Professor Landgraf emphasizes on accounting practice that are used in real life than just straightly follow the text book. The course material and structure are intensive, but she is able to spark up my interest to learn more.
she is a great teacher with a great attitude... she is always there to help you with homework and makes sure you have a clear understanding of the information covered.
Good teacher. Really clear and easy to understand. Always available
Although the course material was quite challenging, Professor Landgraf was always very helpful when approached with questions related to the class.
I enjoyed this course for the most part. She was always prepared with a lecture before arriving to class. The only hard part for me was how early the class was, however that can't be helped. I would recommend her to a friend if they needed this course as well.
Great instructor all around.
A good teacher. I appreciate that she tries to encourage the class to openly participate. However it is accounting, and perhaps a straight lecture is more appropriate most of the time.
She is a very enthusiastic instructor! She shows that she enjoys what she does and really cares about her students. She always emphasizes that she is available during office hours. She also does a good job trying to engage the students during her lectures.
Okay teacher, needs more improvement.
Satisfactory. Would take a class from her again.
Katie is a good teacher. She knows the material well, she just needs to make sure she has enough time to explain everything.
Very knowledgeable, just needs to reduce the confusion between her notes and the whiteboard.
very fair, organized, and she knows her material. I would recommend her to other students. She is also very encouraging and makes accounting interesting and as understandable as possible.
Outstanding. I would take another course from Prof Landgraf and recommend her to other students.
Katie is an excellent instructor that provides present day insight into the workforce and the material that was covered in our class. She is passionate about her work and passing on her knowledge to her students. She is very understanding and willing to help her students understand or relate to the material being covered in class.
I very much enjoyed Professor Landgraf's teaching style. She is very approachable and always willing to provide assistance when requested. She makes herself available to face to face meetings and utilizes the entire class time efficiently.
She taught it a way that the material was easily understood.
Katie Landgraf is a wonderful teacher who cares for her students. She was always available to us and even extended her office hours during testing weeks. She definitely goes above and beyond to help her students and make sure we all understand the material. Thank you so much for being a wonderful teacher.
She is very knowledgeable in accounting but her teaching methods could use more improvement.
she teaches us what companies of today are using in accounting, methods, etc.

21. My overall evaluation of this course is...
excellent!
Hard because it has been 2 years since my last accounting class
The course is very challenging and the particular software utilized proved to be an additional hindrance in understanding the material.
The course was tough and you need to put in a lot of effort to stay afloat. If you fall back a chapter or two it is really difficult to recover but the instructor was very helpful with questions and making time for office hours which I really appreciated. I was really impressed/pleasantly surprised when I asked her what her office hours were and she told me that if I had a different schedule she could change them to meet my needs. To me that showed that she actually cared about her students and their learning and is not just a teacher looking for a paycheck. I would take another class taught by this instructor if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you for a great semester Prof. Landgraf!
Good amount of material covered over the semester. Not too overwhelmed for a 15 week course.
Considering it is a 300 level accounting class the course had a fair amount of work. Assigning a few more homework problems would not hurt. I also don't think the cheat sheet for the quizzes we take are necessary, considering how easy most of the problems on them are.
Very informational! Lots and lots of information. At the same time, it was an eye opener. Helps us to realize how in depth Accounting can get.
Organization would help a lot more. She didn't always have answers to our questions that is being asked during class. We were assigned homework assignments that we didn't know how to do because we never went over it and it wasn't taught to us. Understanding subjects in the class was difficult because of how unorganized it was and how the professor always rushed us to get a chapter done. Rushing to finish a chapter didn't help me to understand the topic any better.
Difficult. She made it a lot easier to learn the material and actually comprehend it. Would not like to have to take this class again.
This course is helping to build the foundation of accounting.
that it is a good course but not easy. There is a lot of material that we have to cover in such a short time.
is good but hard
This course covered a large amount of material. I don't believe it was possible to cover all of the expected material in one semester. Prof Landgraf did a good job adjusting the schedule to cover the most amount of material possible while sticking to objectives that will be most relevant to our course of study.
There was a lot of content to absorb and to try to retain. With this type of course concepts are interrelated or build up on one another. If you miss one day of class it feels like you missed a whole week because of the extensive amount of material that was be covered.
The course material can be challenging at times, but relevant examples make understanding it much easier. I am sure the knowledge I received from this class will be used in future classes as well as future careers.
I was very satisfied with this course. I was very happy with the Wiley program that was used to turn in homework. As students we are always wondering how we are doing in class. By using instant grading for online homework was awesome. This class was challenging but yet manageable as long as you attended class and worked diligently on all work assigned!
It was very challenging.
enjoyed it

I would definitely recommend Katie as an instructor to any student that needs to take an accounting class.
Great class!
The quizzes were difficult and the homework was too extensive sometimes. Exams should be structured differently too with less multiple choice questions.
none.
hope i can take her another class again, but unfortunately, my avaliable time can't match her class schedule for the next semester(BUSA313 at 7:00pm monday??).

2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?
There is too much information to cover in such a short time.
I learned the concepts that are relevant in real world situations and was given excellent examples of how to apply them in different situations
this course is an accounting course and it did enhance my professional development in my major because my concentration is in accounting. i reviewed managerial and financial accounting in her class.
This course took principles introduced in previous accounting courses to a new level. It made the course material a little easier to grasp.
it has positively enhanced my personal/professional development in my major.
This course was very informative and was relative to my job at work. It gave me a better understanding on the concepts and principles.
Good refresher for managerial accounting
It taught me things that I will have to know for work. It covered material that will be useful in business too.
Yes this course is a part of my major's requirement. Although I have been struggling in this class, I have learned how to better apply a good portion of the accounting principle learned over my degree path.
This course helped to broaden my overall understanding of the accounting field.
Before taking this class I thought it would be a waste of time as I was more interested in financial accounting but I was proved wrong.
she is a very nice teacher. i like her teaching style and her lecture notes, and she would like to help you as possible as she can, and i like her smiles, and when i emailed her, she would give me feedback as soon as possiblem.
This course helped to reinforce and enhance the information I learned from the other 3-4 accounting classes I have taken.
This course shows the reasoning behind choices that organizations make based on profits and opportunity costs
This course has prepared me to analyze cost of running projects and make good business decisions.
This course helped me fulfill my core requirement under graduating terms for the accounting batch.
There were a number of interesting concepts covered.
It made me feel good about taking the CPA exam because Landgraf is young and always encouraged taking the CPA exam to those that were interested, other professors don't care and actually discourage me. She is insipiration!
I learned more accounting terms and methods and how they are applied in the real world.
Helped me remember things I learned in previous classes
The course further enhanced my knowledge in accounting.
I have a better understanding of the difference between financial accounting and managerial accounting.

5. Please comment on the activities or resources that could be added to this course to improve your learning.
There are too many concepts introduced. Perhaps picking the more important ones and going over them thoroughly would be more of a benefit than trying to include so much material.
to improve learning, i think we could of learn things that would of been given on the quizzes because in honesty, the quizzes were pretty tricky and difficult.
more exam reviews.
Maybe a group project.
nothing
The book could have had more examples that helped explain concepts.
I do not have any recommendations for this section. Professor Landgraf provided a great deal of relevant handout pertaining to our course work. She is very well prepared.
The software that was used for class assignments was tough to navigate at times and had some flaws in its grading system.
I enjoyed pearson for homework much more than wiley plus. I'm not sure if that is a call you can make but it explained how to do the homework in a lot more detail than did wiley plus.
no comments to this class because i think she is a great instructor and she did try her best to help us improve our learning already. she treated us fairly, and hope she can continue help me in the future even though i maybe cann't take her class again next semester.
Their is a lot to cover in such a short time. More handout problems and/or clarification of some of the working in the book problems.
This course needs a better book however the teacher is aware of this.
More white board space will be helpful because Katie uses power point slides & with the projector screen down, there is almost no white board for Katie to write on. I will benefit greatly from more white board space because I am a visual learner & am able to better understand material that I see visually drawn out or written out.
Her Final exam is quite complex and to improve learning it is hard to learn different methods that are not quite the same from the textbook.
? Real life scenarios? Too complicated? Something like the opening chapter examples are interesting because they link actual companies. Examples are also helpful.
It seemed as if on the days we would review before exams, i understood the material a lot better the second time around. ALOT BETTER! which made me happy. everything else in the class was pretty good to me.
The handouts with example problems was good resources.
More example of the problems in a chapter.
Include more problem solving exercises in class.
Male video lectures/notes/worksheets with answers available in case the student is unable to attend class.

17. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
Katie could slow down during lectures. I feel that she rushes through course material. Also the exams are extremely confusing and difficult. The exam also had too many questions that we couldn't finish within 1.5 hours. I know for a fact that a few of my fellow classmates were upset with their exam scores...
Suggestions were stated earlier.
Often class handouts weren't finished in class due to us using class time to work the problems ourselves. This would lead us to doing the "easier" problems (examples seem to get more complex as they go on) in class and getting stuck with check figures for the usually later harder problems. I understand what the instructor is trying to do by getting us to see if we can figure it out but I'm not sure it's worth it at the expense of harder problems not being discussed at all.
Katie Landgrafs teaching styles were a bit confusing. Pretty difficult to understand and she barely gave enough extra credit to cover our homeworks and quizzes. both homeworks and quizzes were hard.
Writing a little smaller so that all the information fits in one board might be a lot easier for us to follow your in-class examples. When using multiple boards that goes from one place to another, it gets very hard to follow. The exams covers too much materials. Meaning, the exam is more like race for time than anything else. Each questions has to be rushed and if you take too much time to think or evaluate the questions, you run out of time. Even the multiple choice questions take forever to answer, because we need to do a whole set of computations.
Maybe quizzes that require showing the work if it involves calculation/computation and as for all conceptual questions; being multiple choice problems.
time management
Maybe the exams could cover 2 chapters instead of 3-4 chapters.
There really isn't much that I can recommend, because Professor Landgraf did an awesome job delivering the course topics. She is a great instructor. I say this, even though I am borderline passing at this point. For some reason, the course materials just failed to stick to me, but I hold my self responsible.
Using different software for the class assignments could possibly help in making the material easier to comprehend.
I'm not sure if its even possible but maybe some kind of hands on activity to go along with the material?
no suggetions for improving this course. like her teaching style and methods.
I do not have any suggestions for improvement for Katie. She is a great professor as is. No changes please.
Compared to other accounting professors, Landgraf should teach us material that is meant to be on the exam rather than excessive amount of material. Should be straightforward.
I think the material covered was interesting, however, without more knowledge of the industry in Hawaii, I'm uncertain how much of the manufacturing concepts will be pertinent to local work.
I would make the exams shorter (1st exam and midterm) because by the time class was coming a close, i would be like on my 2nd to last, if not last page, however felt rushed for time. In all of my other classes, i usually finish exams within an hour, at most.
This is more towards the school and not towards Professor Landgraf but I feel that for improvements for the class in general, we could have used better markers for the board. It was hard to see at times.
More problems so we have a better understanding of the material given to us. More detailed study guides from exams
Allot more time for problem-solving exercises in class and engage students to ensure they fully understand.
Lets do more problems in class.
18. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
Katie is a very nice person and really cares for her students; she goes above and beyond for us! :) I just think she could improve a little on her teaching methods. Refer to above ^
She is a very good teacher and really cares about the students learning the material.
Professor Landgraf is an excellent instructor with an obvious passion for her job. She goes at a pace that is comfortable and returns assignments by the next class meeting. Her handouts and examples for each chapter are very helpful in clarifying the material covered
Seems very knowledgeable about the subject and very approachable. Explains the topics well.
an okay teacher, however went a litte too fast on moving to a different problem or subject.
I hope to take future courses with Professor Landgraf as she is effective, knowledgeable, and very willing to provide all students with information.
Very nice professor that knows her materials. I can see that she is passionate and very eager to help her students.
Professor Katie Landgraf is an astounding professor. She seems to be very flexible with her office hours when setting up appointments to meet her for assistance. She makes sure that we comprehend and understand the concepts. She truly cares about our education.
good
great teacher.
I give her an (A+), she goes over and beyond the scope of the classroom to try and help her students that ask. She is an awesome new addition to UHWO.
Although the course was challenging, Professor Landgraf was always helpful when it came to assisting with questions related tot eh class.
Excellent! I would take her again and refer her to anyone that asks.
AAAAA++++
She is a fair and just teacher who offers her students her best for them to succeed.
A great teacher who enjoys the subject and tries to relate material to real life situations. When taught by Katie it is relatively easy to understand and she encourages questions and interaction with the class.
Best professor I have ever had! Katie, please teach more upper level courses.
She's a nice teacher but since her teaching styles are quite complex to understand most times., it is even harder to learn. I feel that with most people who are confused, she should have given more extra credit for her quizzes are unpredictable.
Good. She made a strong effort to simplify and provide examples outside of the book that made the concepts easier to understand. She also went through the effort of producing her own PowerPoint slides. I enjoyed hearing her experiences from her work as a CPA and about situations where she used concepts taught in the class. I'm glad she had the knowledge to pick out more relevant chapters and material. She is very considerate of her students and works hard to help them out.
overall katie is awesome and amazing!! she's funny and sweet, motivates us, makes herself available at all time if anyone needs help, tries her best to give real world examples which i liked because most teachers TEACH us to be like robots and not use our heads, just follow what the text book is saying. in other words, we use more of our common sense in her class.
She is a great professor. I feel that she did a great job for her first semester teaching at UHWO. I am glad that I took the course through her and would gladly recommend her to any of my friends.
she made the material easier to learn compared to the book. I like going through the step by step process with the handouts. Also I liked how she divides the class time between lecture and the handout.
that she is an effective teacher and very knowledgable in accounting.
She is a great teacher that actually cares about her students.

21. My overall evaluation of this course is...
It's good - but includes way too much work.
I enjoyed this class and I would definitely take any class that Professor Landgraf offered. She is knowledgable and skilled in teaching.
Enjoyable class. Have no complaints other than using the class time more efficiently.
i believe this was the hardest accounting course ive taken so far. i would of thought it would of been easier than finance, but i think im doing better in finace.
The course was difficult at times, but having a teacher so willing to assist made it far less frustrating.
The course is fun.
Great course to take if you want to learn managerial accounting or if you're a finance major. I think the quizzes are weighted too high but absolutely worth the money to take this course.
good
good course
As for the course, I struggled and still continue to struggle on the exam portions of the class. While completing the required homework assignments, I feel that I have a pretty good grasp on what's going on. Now, when it comes to exam days, I seem to forget it all. There is a lot to grasp in such a short period of time. If I had to choose a rating for this class, I guess I would say it is extremely challenging.
This course was a challenging course and definitely requires a great deal of focus in order to succeed.
Before taking this course I was not looking forward to it. I thought I would enjoy the financial accounting class much more. However she proved me wrong and made me realize the importance of internal management decision making and the accounting associated with that. I think its safe to say that I actually enjoyed this class more than the financial accounting class which I found surprising because I sort of enjoy financial accounting as much as one can without getting a headache haha.
AAAAAA+++++
Good. Purse to take if you plan to be in a management position. I've learned to read critically and thoroughly.
I feel that this course alone could've been taught in a simpler way.
Good. These concepts are useful to know whether or not I end up in a position to apply them. I've already seen some overlap with study material for BEC.
great.
some of the concepts and calculations were difficult but the teacher explained them well.
very informative and educational in the field of accounting. It has contributed in my understanding of accounting.
I learned quite a bit in this class because the teacher made the material easier to comprehend.
22. Other comments:
Many students have other courses to deal with - each with their own load of homework and study time needed. This class makes it difficult to alot an equal amount of time and effort for each class.
UHWO and the students are lucky to have such an excellent and dedicated instructor
she should curve everyones grades because i know a lot of people who don't really understand her teaching. sometimes she teaches us the harder way when theres a short cut to get it.
I would take another course with this professor.
better study guides
none
I have said most of what I needed to say, but I would add that it has been a pleasure to work with Professor Landgraf during the semester.
no other comments because she did very well already, and tried her best to help us. From her lecture notes, her corrections for our HW, her immediate feedbacks for our questions, i think she is a very professional teacher at UH.Next semester, i may not take her class(because of my own schedule can't match her class), but i still hope she is willing to continue to help me like what she did in this semester by email or in person whatever~~also hope she will continue having a wonderful teaching experience at UHWO. ~~~min
Awesome professor! She always gets students involved in class lectures.
I hope she curves our final grades.
I'm sorry we had to skip so many chapters and that the textbook wasn't the most straightforward. I think there is a lot more to learn, however, it's difficult to get around the manufacturing focus that may not always apply.
the homework took wayyyy too long though, it was an unnecessary amount of time to do. maybe eliminate 1 or 2 homework problems. some were tiringly too long.
Katie Landgraf is the best accounting teacher I had so far in my journey at UH.
