16. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the course?
|
| Learning how to write chart notes, especially SOAP and ADIME formats and looking up literature on medical nutrition therapy for treatment of diseases. |
| I learn the professional MNT skills from our lecturer. Her real-life experiences/stories are always the most attractive toopic for me. I become interested in medical nutrition therapy and learned to plan the whole nutrition care process.
Her presentation skill is one the the thing that I have to learn from in this semester. She presents complicated concept in a simple way and easy for students to understand. She communicate idea and concept effectively. |
| Use of MNT to various medical conditions
ADIME |
| Examples of real life situations. |
| The case studies and learning how to write chart notes, because that is what I will need to do in the future. |
| Getting tips from a professional currently working in the field and also up-to-date information about current guidelines and types of documentation. |
| I think that all of the content that was taught is going to be really useful in the future. |
| Doing case studies and learning how to write chart notes using ADIME. |
| 1. speech pathologist (very interesting)! and NY internship lady
2. Having to explore Nutrition Care Manual and Evidence Anal. Library
3. Having background for each disease's pathology
Overall, great class! |
| Pertinent information that was used almost right away at my job at the hospital. |
| Having the powerpoints while the professor lectures so that we can follow along and take notes. |
| Learning Case Study was very helpful to understand the concept of MNT.
I learned a lot from her lectures and I enjoyed listenign her real job experience in dietetics! |
| real life experience , example "case study" |
| The professor was very knowledgeable about MNT and applications in the clinical setting. |
| Cyndy is so knowledgable and as a practicing RD she is able to give real world examples of how what we are learning is applicable in the hospital. She works hard to make the information relevant and keep students interested. |
| Learning an overview of common diseases dietitians encounter in the hospital setting was very valuable. |
| The practical application of the material |
| Powerpoint presentations were very informative and helpful in learning class content. |

17. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the course?
|
| N/A |
| Nothing |
| Nothing! |
| nothing |
| Nothing,I was able to learn from everything. |
| Everything was valuable and helpful, but here are some suggestions:
1. Maybe we could have more career/internship speakers early in the first semester (before applications are due). We found out how RD's relate to speech, but how does the RD's job relate to nursing, physician, pharmacist?
2. Real-world simulations could be integrated with charting, maybe work in groups/partners at first until we can do it on our own?
3. Need more education about lab values, how they relate to disease state, and what they mean in different situations. Maybe that should be included on the tests? |
| The tests. They didn't really help me learn much. |
| open book exams- take home exams are better more time to read look for the questions understand ,get connected to people and resources |
| I wish we got more feedback on our writing assignments to help us improve them. |
| I wish we did more case studies. Powerpoints can be read at home with the instructor taking questions or making a few points in class with the rest of the class period spent on case studies. |
