13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Professor Kahalewale makes the class fun, and I really liked that about her. I learned a lot in her class.
She knew her "craft" well. Its easy to learn from teacers like that.
She knows how to explain subjects in depth and clearly in a way that is better to understand than just reading the book.
Her organization and knowledge about the topic, her in class activity was really good and allowed us to understand more.
her beautiful and perfect presentation.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Nothing. She does an amazing job!
it was free-form teaching method. I think sometimes she need to more strict to students.
nope
There were a lot of times that the lectures were a little difficult to sit through. A good way to get the student more involved might be to have more participation between the students, such as more group work or activities.
Perhaps have some more interactive things to the student
not at all
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Telling us the date of our exam, and telling us what we need to study. She also gave us lots of assignments that helped students.
She called people who weren't coming to class making them aware of the final group project. Even singling out the people who were not actively participating in the group.
Every day there was a time where she offered to help those that needed it. There was also times where if she noticed that people were struggling with their projects or had trouble thinking of ideas, she was there to talk and guide them to where they needed to be.
She always notify if student have any concern
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, she is a good teacher, and knows her stuff about nutrition. I asked her couple questions about certain things and she knew the answer for everything.
Yes. She explains things well.
I would most likely recommend Cynthia Kahalewale to many people that are thinking of taking this class. I enjoyed her class a lot, with the way she did her lectures and presented the information. The slideshows were helpful and conveniently located on laulima for the class to see and download for a time to study. She was very helpful to me and my group when I needed it. She is also very observant, so it was not difficult to ask for help because she would always offer it to everyone every day.
Yes i would its an interesting class
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
none
She makes sure the work(homework and projects)that we did were accurate, contained solid refrences and the like.
I enjoyed this class a lot. The notes were easy to add to the slideshows for her lectures because there is a computer for everyone to use. Her lessons are clear and organized, in depth and easy to learn if you input the effort to study.
Thank you very much for being my instuctor
18. Other comments:

16. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the course?
Getting tips from a professional currently working in the field and also up-to-date information about current guidelines and types of documentation.
real life experience , example "case study"
Pertinent information that was used almost right away at my job at the hospital.
Use of MNT to various medical conditions ADIME
Learning Case Study was very helpful to understand the concept of MNT. I learned a lot from her lectures and I enjoyed listenign her real job experience in dietetics!
1. speech pathologist (very interesting)! and NY internship lady 2. Having to explore Nutrition Care Manual and Evidence Anal. Library 3. Having background for each disease's pathology Overall, great class!
Doing case studies and learning how to write chart notes using ADIME.
I think that all of the content that was taught is going to be really useful in the future.
The case studies and learning how to write chart notes, because that is what I will need to do in the future.
Learning how to write chart notes, especially SOAP and ADIME formats and looking up literature on medical nutrition therapy for treatment of diseases.
The professor was very knowledgeable about MNT and applications in the clinical setting.
I learn the professional MNT skills from our lecturer. Her real-life experiences/stories are always the most attractive toopic for me. I become interested in medical nutrition therapy and learned to plan the whole nutrition care process. Her presentation skill is one the the thing that I have to learn from in this semester. She presents complicated concept in a simple way and easy for students to understand. She communicate idea and concept effectively.
Having the powerpoints while the professor lectures so that we can follow along and take notes.
Examples of real life situations.
The practical application of the material
Learning an overview of common diseases dietitians encounter in the hospital setting was very valuable.
Cyndy is so knowledgable and as a practicing RD she is able to give real world examples of how what we are learning is applicable in the hospital. She works hard to make the information relevant and keep students interested.
Powerpoint presentations were very informative and helpful in learning class content.
17. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the course?
Nothing!
open book exams- take home exams are better more time to read look for the questions understand ,get connected to people and resources
The tests. They didn't really help me learn much.
Nothing
Everything was valuable and helpful, but here are some suggestions: 1. Maybe we could have more career/internship speakers early in the first semester (before applications are due). We found out how RD's relate to speech, but how does the RD's job relate to nursing, physician, pharmacist? 2. Real-world simulations could be integrated with charting, maybe work in groups/partners at first until we can do it on our own? 3. Need more education about lab values, how they relate to disease state, and what they mean in different situations. Maybe that should be included on the tests?
Nothing,I was able to learn from everything.
nothing

I wish we got more feedback on our writing assignments to help us improve them.
Exam format. In class

I wish we did more case studies. Powerpoints can be read at home with the instructor taking questions or making a few points in class with the rest of the class period spent on case studies.
