It actually did fulfill course requirements for my CENT major, and that it did help me professionally develop my skills in IT security and managerial methods of IT security as well.
I strongly believe this course enhanced my professional development for my major as it taught me a lot of security concepts and has prepared me for the Sec+ and CISSP

There is none, his teaching style going through PowerPoint slides is an okay method for me, and that he post these slides through Laulima for easy reference to homework assignments.

Kinda repetitive from other IT security classes I've taken, but its good refresher because certain lessons we've learned I forgot or didn't know about.
21. Other comments:
Too much homework assignment questions that were difficult to find using our books/ lecture notes, but since the classroom only meets certain Saturday I understand why it should be that way to really make us think about subject at-hand.

2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?
It was very practical in that we were challenged to obtain our CISSP certification in lieu of taking the final exam. So this was a practical motivator for all involved. So not only would the student receive course credit for their concentration/major, they could also leave the class with a CISSP certification in hand.
Provided me with information needed for my major.
This course promotes and encourages those who are in ISA or CENT to try and seek certifications for the IT field.
This course centers on the CISSP. It is the standard certifications in the information assurance field. This course was to prep for the exam.
Very thorough coverage of the material and he presented the material matter in an interesting manner. I feel ready to take the official certification test.
This course taught me a lot about my relevant field and has definitely helped prepare me for the CISSP exam as intended.
It has been a fun challenging class. It challenged me to study harder and read more, which both will help my professional career.

The Harris book was really dry reading. It had good reviews on the internet by others who used it for prepping for the exam, but it was not a good read.

The idea was that final exam is supposed to be like a prep for the actual CISSP exam... that is kind of pushing the limits a bit, because the course covers A LOT of material.

It gave me hands on experience with tools that I would be using in the field and gave experience in thinking on my feet and problem solving when needed.
Philip has a lot of knowledge of this topic. The course assignments were informative and interesting. There were assignments that brought the hacking world into the class and into better perspective.
Taught tools and how the tools penetrate. Knowing this valuable info can help prevent and secure a network.

Possibly a set of private servers to do some of our assignments on, so that we can have a safe place to learn some of the techniques. Also possibly update the book. A lot of the instructions for the hands-on activities did not work with current versions of the software.
The only issue I had was with regard to the VMWare player. On my system I had issues with the amount of RAM needed to properly run the VirtualBox and VMWare Player. A notice in the course catalog would have allowed me to update the RAM sooner rather than in the middle of the semester.
Updated instructions on using the hacking tools
