13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Organized the subject matter in his own way making it easier to learn. (note packets, project, extra credit etc..)
He is extremely knowledgable in his subject and knows exactly how to teach it in a way better than the book does.

He knows his materials, he is a good teacher and I did learn something from him.
He really cares for his students and knows his subject very well. If you fall behind or do bad on exams or quizes, he tries to give you pointers and help you for the next exams.
He know what he is talking about.
Clarity when explaining and also very enthusaistic
His strengths as a teacher is knowing the material really well. He also cares for his students and will offer extra credit to help a student's grade
Very down to earth Professor. VERY knowledgeable about Accounting.
has his own way to teach
was very knowledgeable about material and very fair with grading
Being able to show how accounting could be applied to everyday lives in different business environment. He knew how to explain all the different subjects to people.
Compassion and sympathetic in regarding to student's personal problems that could effect class performance.
Breaking down complex subjects and clearly defining what needs to be studied.

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
When writting notes on the board and talking at the same time it was difficult to see the notes from one side of the class.
He needs to not assume that we're all going to major in accounting so that he will stop giving us 400 level work.
speak slowly
Sometimes he speaks softly so it can be a little difficult to hear his lectures. Maybe run us through the notes instead of giving it to us to copy down so we don't have to teach ourselves. I feel like I learn better through hands on and lectures.
need to slowdown the pace for non native speaker.
Use metaphors or relate topics to real life examples.
He should focus more on the material when he teaches and not go off tangent and talk about something else.
NONE! You are awesome!
i would suggest to put less priority on the project as i felt that it took away from learning some of the other material
I think the changes should be that we have more extra credit for the class.
More In-Class practice problems versus note taking. I personally learn better from example problems.
Practice test before actual tests.
None, the class was great. best acct teacher.
great teacher. no changes necessary
Perhaps taking away the group projects. Sometimes it was hard to keep up with the lectures and also making time for the group project. Everyone has different schedules.
Maybe instead of focusing on all notes, we could focus on doing at least one example problem in class for each chapter. Sometimes I feel it is easier to learn material through examples rather than wordy notes.
Not Applicable
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
If you show that you are putting effort into the class he is willing to help you out and get you through the class.
he worte "come see me" on tests we did horribly on and gave us chances to make up at least half the points we lost.
Yes, if you had a bad test he will see you after class and try to explain to you how to get better
He tries to have us come talk to him if we do poorly on the exams or quizes. He even tells us to come see him during his office hours for a little tutoring.
He stated when his office hours were and reminded us daily
He informs you of your grade and offers extra credit. At the beginning of the semester you can sign up for bonus articles and later during the year if you do super bad on an exam you can do the flash card quiz
He extended homework deadlines if necessary and gave extra credit and bonuses to students who need :P
he was very readily available most days of the week and helped students during the class lectures
By being very fair about grades.
Let us know what to focus on in studying and learning about the materials in addition to grades status update.
He would wrtie encouraging notes on tests and quizzes and also kept an updated grade sheet available. He would also send lots of emails and always encourage his office hours.
Prof. is easy to talk to, usually there during office hours and replies to most emails. a lot more than most teachers.
He encouraged us to come by his office hours if we needed help and always answered out emails.
He is always in his office willing to help you. He grades test and assignments with understanding that accounting isn't the easiest class to understand.
Kevin goes above and beyond for his students. He would write "see me" on the top of tests or homework assignments if you received a low grade. He tries to understand your current lifestyle and tries to suggest ways on how to study and even where to study.
He provides feedback on how we are doing (individually and team) and makes sure we understand the assignments...

yes. He make us think deeply about the subject
Yes. because he realy cares about students to learn something and he will be thre for you if you have any questions or problems during the semester
Yes, Dooley is a good teacher overall. Don't expect to learn everything through his lectures because you will have to teach yourself most of the time. It's not too hard to follow as long as you keep up with the notes and chapters.
Yes. A lot better than my 201 teacher
Yes, i would recommend him to other students because he is a really good teacher. If you study hard enough you'll get the things he's talking about. He also provides notes for each chapter which i believe simplifies the chapter into the most important points.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Seems like a great guy, knows how to teach, and wants to see his students succeed.
good teacher
He is a great teacher, very profesional and doesn't waist students time.
Good job!
thank you for teaching
The class never gets boring
He's project is a pain to do but is so worth it because it helps your grade out a lot.
It is hard to say anything else without laughing...Professor Dooley, keep on being the cool Professor you are.
great course
He's a cool guy.
Funny guy who sometimes speak really fast.
He is very good at what he does and is also very knowledgable. Highly reccommend his classes.
fantastic teacher.
Great teacher.
Even though taking his ACC 201 and 202 was hell for me, I will definitely miss him as a teacher.
He always makes sure we are up to par on the assignments and team project...
He's very friendly & easy to talk with.
All though I didn't complete his course due to personal reasons, Mr. Dooley never shunned me away. He continued to keep me updated through email. He has influenced me to become better in all that I choose to do whether it may be in accounting, administration, etc.
He is rarely online. He came to the meeting at 3:45 p.m. and also participated in the Blackboard collaborative session. He is also a persistent, kind and a tactful person.
18. Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by ...
The way professor Dooley spoke
How extremely difficult it was and how 80% of my study time went to this class and my other 3 classes combined only took up the other 20%.
My grade
His materials and of course him. Was a pleasure being his student. I feel like I learned something in his class that will help me in my profesion.
the team project
how he taught us whith his own style
How exciting he made accounting
The project we did and it was the hardest course i've taken so far. Also its the base of what i need to know in the future if i plan to go into accounting or business.
Probably being asked a question by Professor Dooley and getting the answer wrong...always...HAHAHAHA!
utilizing my basic accounting skills in my career field
The group work that we did as a team.
The team project that was assigned and the ratios figures.
The group project.
The amount of work we had to do.
The amount of knowledge I gained from it. Espcially from the team project. Before this class I didn't know anything about stock investing and now i have some good general knowledge about it
His weird jokes and examples in class, but most of all, his kindness and concern for his students.
using the knowledge I learned at work...
His excellent teaching.
In ten years from now in Accounting 202 I remember a lot of things such as Chapter 22 Cost-Profit Volume Analysis the Balance sheet. The Chapter 23 The Budgetary Planning the cash budget and the Budgeted balance sheet. In chapter 24 the Budgetary Control and the responsibility report in Accounting. This includes the case study, Reports, and the Developments. There are also types of responsibility center such as cost centers, Profit Centers and the Investment Centers.

20. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?
Maybe check to see if non native speakers are following.
He's a really good teacher. He needs no improvements.
He is good the way he does it
speak louder and go through the notes more instead of jumping into a problem. I always feel lost if I don't have the basics down and feel bad when he calls on me for the answers.
not 201 but in 202 when you give group assignment, you need to decrease the point portion for group project. it is killing me now..
Orginize his examples he writes on the board
Focus on the material and not go off tangent so much. Also do more problems/examples in class so the students know what they are doing.
Well, let's see...maybe more time for class? 9:15 - 10:30 seems too short for an Accounting class??
maybe focusing less on project and more on material
I think that there should be more extra credit, because accounting is a very unique subject with a lot of specifics.
More in-class problems as example for better understanding on harder materials.
More group work maybe.
maybe more review material that is bundled before tests, not really needed but would be nice to have.
Perhaps taking more time to discuss actual problems in the book that will prepare students for quizes/tests/
more problem examples.
never helped
Less focus on team projects due to the nature of the class being an online class.
Going online more frequently.
21. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

The way he ask us questions during the class
He really cares about students, he wants ou to know accounting.
his concern for students
clear direction and objective of class material
Really goes out of his way to help students
He will help you, but not give you the answer. This requires you to think for yourself and test how much you actually know.
"PLEASE SEE ME" usually means that you HAVE to see him...and it is a MUST, if you really care about your grade and if you want to pass the class. <--- VERY VALUABLE!
how readily he was and how willing he was to help students
Approachable and always reply his emails.
His helpful attitude and great explanations of the material.
The notes he provided us
He really listens and understands. Wants to get you the best grade possible. He works with us to learn instead of against us.
His advice and suggestions on how to study.

23. Other comments:
The group work was really hard work, but it helped me think about investment and stock.
yes. The group project we did counts for a good amount of our grade.
really good teacher. Helpful, understanding and caring. At first i didn't want to take this class because of the project but then i switch out of my other class and into this class and i don't regret it.
It was a great semester learning new materials on accounting.
Very good teacher to learn a tough subject from.
Thank you Kevin!! I really hated accounting but being in your class for the summer and fall semester was fun! I will sincerely miss you! Probably one of the most amazing teachers I've ever had!! Thank you for your kindness and support!
For the most part, I am thankful for the opportunity of being in the Accounting 202 class. Half-way through I had too stop due to personal reasons, but in that short time I did learn some valuable accounting skills. The degree I am working toward is not in accounting, but I believe these skills will help me in my future... Thank you Mr. Dooley...
