13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He knew his subject area well.
He knows the subject well and has alot of experience to tell.
He is an Enthusiastic and energetic teacher considering it was a Saturday morning class.
Mr. Nagata's major strength is his experience is in the law field. Throughout the entire semester he taught us what exactly a paralegal is expected to do for an attorney and how important it is for a paralegal to be able to do reliable research. I enjoyed his method of teaching which involved a lot of critical thinking, preparedness, and to think quickly on the spot.
His knowledge of the law field and legal research.
Professor Nagata's major strengths would have to be using daily world wide examples that relate to the course topic and also having guest speakers come in and give broad detail of what the legal world is like
He made class a lot of fun with his entertaining stories. Great personality.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Although the assignments were pretty clear sometimes they were approached in a roundabout way.
More in class assignments and mini quizzes to help with learning each chapter.
I would like to suggest perhaps allowing students to enter more than two drafts of the legal memos to be submitted.
Maybe have at least one mandatory assignment to do every week to keep students on tab about the subject matter. Students like me sometimes it takes more than reading and just a few assignments here and there to really soak up the subject matter lectured in class, especially when we only have one class a week. Doing an assignment at least ever week about the subject matter would help students like me to keep the knowledge I just learned absorbed and stuck in our minds.
I suggest Professor Nagata to be more helpful with the procedure of his final paper it was a bit unclear when you are asking for help and he only tells you what the format is like
None he does a great job.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He address us personally at class time and spoke with us during breaks and before and after class to engage us and find out how we are doing.
Answered questions accordingly and encouraged and motivated when necessary.
Mr. Nagata was always available to help answer any questions.
He repeated many times throughout his teaching "if we had any questions" concerning the subject matter. He was very open to his students asking questions and often times class participation is a "must" to make sure we are awake and listening to his lecture. This type of action shows that he is concern about what we are learning in class.
professor Nagata would always start off class asking how we are as well as letting us have breaks in between class since it was a long class
He is responsive to questions/concerns.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes...an effective teacher.
Yes.
Yes, if any students want to learn how to do legal research, Mr. Nagata will show you how!
Yes, he is very knowledgeable about legal research and knows the basic information to teach students like myself who are knew to the paralegal field.
I would recommend Professor Nagata to students because he makes the class much more interesting when he brings in his guests speakers about what the legal world would be. I never thought taking his class would be worth it but when researching it does take a lot of time and effort to finding the right cases
Of course, he made it a great class. I learned so much!
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
N/A
He is a great teacher and I learned a great deal of knowledge of how to do legal research. I hope he continues to teach because there are not too many teachers out there who teaches with passion and Mr. Nagata are just one of the few who I believe loves what he is doing because it shows in his teaching.
