Nice teacher. Teaches very well. Very understandable. Understanding for each students individual learning level. She is a very kind and helps students if they need help. She was clear and friendly. She is a very caring and kind teacher. Very kind, patient and good teacher. Knowledgeable on subject area.

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

more varieties of learning games and assingments and group work Maybe I would suggest her to do each lesson in details. None None.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

She answers questions. She makes sure everyone knows something about the material. always talking and asking if each student has any concern, and having her our open for us to sddress any problems She always goes round the class n ask what the students need help with. She knew our abilities and would give careful attention to students who were lagging behind. By approaching them and talking to them in private instead of addressing it infront of everybody.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes, one of the best teachers on campus. She knows her subject and what she is doing. Certainly i would in a heart beat It is rare to find understanding student at college level who are willing to open their doors and get one on one with their students. I would strongly recommend Sue Fujitani to students because she does show her concern to every students, not only in the class but also outside of the class too. Yes, I felt that she was a excellent educator and she hopes that we will learn well. Yes because I really enjoyed her class.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

always pushing students to accomplish goals of the class. great motivator, great speaker, also can correct papers very quickly . she has a skill on picking out students weakness and helping them to correct it. She is a great teacher that simplifies the subject so that the students can understand a difficult language. She covers the use of grammar and vocabulary very clearly. Huang Laoshi (Sue Fujitani) is a wonderful educator. Through her patience, skill, and knowledge my classmates and I were lead through a potentially troublesome class with great ease. In fact, it was very enjoyable. Sue is very encouraging and motivating. She shows concern for students and encourages growth and learning daily. é»? è??å¸? ï¼?MIss Fujitani) major strengths as teacher is being a very supportive teacher. She is always there to support and help us whenever we need her. She is a very supportive and loving teacher. Sue Fujitani is extremely helpful and patient in class. Sue (Huang Laoshi) is very knowledgeable about Chinese. She has a kind and warming personality that brings out the best in all of her students. Her laid back teaching style is very engaging and makes her class a fun learning environment. I love how detailed é»?è??å¸? is with every lesson. She really makes sure each student understands the grammar and structure. Sue was very organized and I really benefited from the structure of reviewing the chapters. I also appreciate her willingness to do anything to help us improve our Chinese. She is caring of her students and reminds them to selfcare. She provided my classmates and I with a great class environment. For being such a high stress program she aided the entire class with keeping our focus and sanity! She is a wonderful teacher and I wish after I get back from China that I could have her again (but I go back Big Island so cannot!). Overall, wonderful learning experience. Gained so much academically and mentally! <3

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

No changes needed. Dont ever retire! None, because all the teaching style and strategies that she did in our class made understand our class better. I like the way she teach because its something that fits our needs. We should watch the Li You and Wang Peng video's more often. :) None! No change necessary.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

everyday diligently working with every student to pass her class she is a great teacher. She stays after class to help students, and works with students to understand the content. That fact that she has a warm and caring heart was evident from day one. I know I am not alone in my love for this wonderful and supportive teacher. Sue was available for students in and outside of class. She showed appreciation for students attention and expressed interest in helping each and every student improve their Chinese. If she noticed that we are having hard time she explain the lesson in simpler manner, or she gives us more time to understand our class. And also most of the time she offers one to one assistant or help to every students that needs her help. She was always available to give extra help to her students. Huang Laoshi always takes time to sit down with the students one on one if needed, and makes herself available to answer any questions. She listens to the feedback students give her and is very flexible. Individual assistance with any questions we had. She was always there for us when we needed help during lunch and after class. I also appreciate how sweet and kind she is. She always made sure that the students were handling their workload and stress levels well. Allowing breaks when needed and providing a steady/stable workflow.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

yes, because she cares. Yes, because she is a great teacher and cares deeply on the understanding. Her teaching style is very linear and easy to understand. Yes. She'll teach you alot with a smile on her face and make you laugh! Yes, definitely besides from being a good teacher she is also very kind. Every students are fortunate to have her as a teacher. Yes, she is an extremely knowledgable and kind teacher. Absolutely. Huang Laoshi made learning fun, entertaining, and easy. I would recommend é»?è??å¸? to everyone because she really makes sure that her students do well and understand every lesson. YES! YES YES! She is an amazing teacher and I would recommend her class to anyone. Of course, she is a great teacher and very nice.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

She's a very friendly and nice teacher. æ??ç?±é»?è??å¸?ï¼?I LOVE HUANG LAOSHI! Besides being absolutely adorable, Sue is a witty and entertaining professor. She is willing to extend more help to students than most teachers usually do. I am thankful and extremely grateful to have her as teacher. She is so caring and helpful to us. I hope to take more classes with her... She is the best'est teacher ever! I just want to say thank you for all the help! She is a great teacher and I am grateful that I was able to attend a glass with her.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Mrs. Fujitani is very understanding, caring, and fair. Being a student who is just started to study after being away from school for a long time was a bit hard in the beginning but by the Grace of God Mrs. Fujitani encouraged me and led me in the right direction. A very nice and thoughtful teacher who cares about her students. She makes learning mandarin fun and easy in a comfortable setting. She is a great teacher, she really cares about her students. Professor Fujitani's major strength is her concern with her student. She provided sounds file on laulima for student to learn the sound of the words and help us in class. She tries to encourage to speak Chinese in class and gives chances of it. Also, she tries to make a good atmosphere to take class for students. Her major strengths as a teacher would be that she knew what she was teaching and taught it well. She encourages the students to participate in the class. She is a very kind and caring women. She is very patient with her students and is always helping. She knows her material very well and encourages everyone to do their best. Awesome overall job. She is open to constructive criticism and is willing to change to improve how the students learn. Her way of teaching Chinese is clear and easy to learn from without sacrificing on substance. She knows the topic very well and is able to explain it clearly and effectively. She also is able to work with the students very well, and make class fun.

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

If it is possible to ask the faculty of UH to extend the length of Chinese Classes because 1 hour is too fast to learn a language. add more oral exercises to practice conversation even more than we do now. Helping students who have trouble with speaking practice. None. NO MORE The pace of the class is little fast. slow the lessons down because a lot of us didn't understand it the first time. by the time we understand it, we're already on a new lesson. I wouldn't make any changes. maybe speak only mandarin and no english to force students to speak mandarin in class. She could possibly intrigue students more in learning Chinese with culturally relevant things like for example the richness in 4 word sayings which is common for Chinese people. Although that one may not be readily interpreted with the limited vocabulary of an intro class. none

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

She always asked us if we understood the dialog of each lesson after she finished reading them, and assigned even tutors to help us study and even offer he office hour for either any questions or concerns with the lessons She would always make sure her student's are absent know what is going on in class. She go over the material with the student who needed help, and help them out when needed. When student can't pronounce a certain word, Professor Fujitani comes and help the student pronounce the word. She tries to make students participate in class through talking to and making them speak Chinese in class. She asked me if I needed any tutoring when she seeing my grades slip. She would always ask how was our weekend or if we were tired or seemed stressed out she would always ask what is wrong.And if we did horrible on the quiz or test she would always ask why, or send one of her helpers to help us and tutor us. she's very patient and understanding She's open to ideas from students on what they need to learn Chinese successfully. She's available after/before class. she walks around the class and checks on students comprehension, pauses before continuing to another lesson and asks if students have any questions.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Certainly one of my most favorite teacher i have ever had in my educational life, and a very involve, caring individual she helps us strive for the best and try to give it our all. Yes because she is a fun and great teacher. yes, she is always checking to see if everyone understands, if you dont understand she will stay with you to help. I would recommend Professor Fujitani to others, because she help you learn the material. She show us video of how to communicate with others, and very often we do class activity to learn the process of the course. Yes, because her class is very organized and along with schedule. And I feel her class is helpful to improve my Chinese skill. Yes, because she is funny and her class is fun. She is very patient and understanding. She will help you with whatever you need help with and makes the class enjoyable. yes, because her teaching skills are superb. Yes I would recommend her because she teaches Chinese well and gets through to students. yes. she made class fun and was overall a very good teacher.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

I would like to say that the vast information and attention she gives us is just awesome, almost makes us feel like a family learning together. One of the best language instructors I've had. A wonderful teacher in a fun environment to learn in. Thank you for teaching us Chinese. I felt our class's atmosphere is not so good at first, but thanks to your efforts and your atmosphere, I feel good to take your class. I really wanted to take your class next semester. I'm so sad... She is very kind teacher! she knows how to teach chinese great chinese teacher Professionalism, attentiveness, kindness, patience, understanding, fairness, and helpfulness. She is a great professor and role model. staying on schedule Good understanding of Chinese She is nice Giving us a lot of homework helped us to understand our work more. She is a good teacher because she knows what shes doing. The ability to help by explaining sentence structures and assist us in understanding the language punctual and prepared. Knows her material very well. Teaches very efficiently Shes an overall great teacher who understands students and the art of teaching a language. she really knows her subject area well and has always been fair in grading and communicating with me. Able to help each student when they need the help. She is very nice and always helps out a student if needed.

I suggest the class need more conversation with tutor or teacher because it good for you Nothing. (: grading scale I wish the class could be different but I understand we need go through the book i don't have any suggestions. no, but maybe more games when learning because we got to learn our classmates better and the teacher gets more involved with the students. no changes none. None because Fujitani is bomb! none.... its a great course None More class participation.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

She always looked at each person and talked to us. she concerned about each students have different personality and she doesn't force student to do things rather to help. by helping them out and offering tutoring She helped every student and made sure everyone was on the same page. She always made sure to include everyone in the class. She pays attention to her entire class. gives students opportunities to make up work she was always there for office hours she asks questions if the test was hard or what she could do to make things better. gave us up to date grades, ask us how the exam was, provide a helping hand when needed. If a student is absent from class,she'll ask the student why he/she wasn't in class. She always ask what happen? Or why didn't you show up for class She offered many help inside and outside of class multiple times throughout the semester. She always emailed me back promptly She would ask if they needed help as often as possible if their falling behind in class. Always checked with every student to see how they are doing on a certain oral presentation, test, or homework assignment.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes! She made me interested in Chinese a lot! I strongly recommend Sue Fujitani because she is very nice and I like her way of teaching. Yes! She is the best Chinese teacher ever. (: yes, the class provided us good understanding of chinese Yes. Her class is interesting. yes. she is not easy but she does make the class fun. We have celebrations like chinese new year or chinese moon festival which are a lot of fun. We get to learn more of our chinese cultural. yes, A very good professor who knows her thing. yes because she's a good teacher. Take her class because she is very nice. She makes Chinese fun yes because she is a great teacher who can teach in a way that will help students learn efficiently. yes , she is a great teacher and really has her students appreciate the language while having fun Yes because she is a definitely a good teacher. Yes, she knows her field well and teaches it in an understandable way.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

She brought us together as a class. For most all of us, learning Chinese was the most academic challenging semester of our lives and Fujitani Laoshi helped us achieve our goals with flying colors. No one was left behind. She created a fun atmosphere for learning, and was able to keep our attention with a subject as difficult as Chinese. Very knowledgeable on the subject area. Effective teaching, presenting different (real life) situations. She's very suitable to be a Chinese teacher because she demonstrated patience, kindness, and a great deal of understanding to non-native Chinese speaker with no experience in the language at all. She has a strong familiarity with the subject, which made it easier to learn from her. her cheerful patience, on top of her vast knowledge of the course material She is very smart. She is open to ideas and takes everything into consideration. She returns work very quickly and goes over mistakes so the students clearly understand. She knows everything she is teaching. She knows the material very well. She throughly teaches the lessom until we understand the lesson we are learning that week. Huang Laoshi is really good at teaching the text. She makes sure we understand the concepts before moving on. In one semester she taught me more than I thought I was capable of. I'm so thankful for her patience and care for me during this hectic semester.

14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

Only if she had a Freeman class again, I would suggest to warm up to the subject a little more, rather than plunging the first day. Maybe to do a few more ice breakers in the beginning. non none None at all I do not have any changes. :) none n/a

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

I've never had a professor return EVERY SINGLE quiz the next day in class. She knew that we were ALL anxious to know our grades and she provided them for us promptly. Also, because it is so important that the ten of us get along and work as a cohesive group she went out of her way to ELIMINATE any problems that arose between us. yes, with any problems at all she would help the student to the best of her ability. Cared a lot how students performed in the classroom and outside. She always readily available whenever one of us needed her help. When it comes to test, she made sure that we understood the lesson. Even outside of class, we were always able to contact her via email for questions related to the lesson that we learned. by making definite sure that every student understood the content before continuing any segment She gave the class a lot of help. Made everyone participate and no one fell behind. Made learning Chinese fun. Helping students a long with everything!!! :) She answered any questions we had that she knew the answer to. she gave each student one on one time during the class to make sure we understood the concepts.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Absolutely! I wish she taught every language because her teaching style is so effective. Yes, I would recommend her to other students because her teaching is very effective. I would definitely recommend her to other students. She's well-rounded, knowledgeable, patient, and very funny. She knows how to keep the interests of her students. certainly. she offers everything and more that one would need to learn chinese Yes, because she is really smart. She tries hard to really get through to the students. She teaches because she loves it. Teaches in a way for everyone to understand. Yes I highly recommend her as her lessons are easy to follow and interactive. Yes because I learned a lot in the short 4 months. totally! love how she is so passionate about teaching Chinese. She makes learning such a difficult language fun and exciting!

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

She was great to all of us. I've never seen a teacher earn such respect while still having so much fun with her students. She is an excellent teacher, knows much about the subject and her class was very enjoyable. Thank you very much for all the time and effort you've spent with us. I feel very lucky to have become one of your students. I will forever be grateful. Xiexie nin `Bai En Li i am very pleased to have been able to learn form her, knowing that her teaching is of the top notch. I feel that learning from her enabled me to absorb the language at a rapid, but comfortable pace å¾?好ï¼?æ??å??欢你ç??课ã?? She is very kind and when I come to class it makes me happy to always see her smiling. She makes me want to class because it shows that she really enjoys teaching. Since I'm in Chinese 297, we have taken CH101-201 and she has done such a great job teaching me Chinese. I was really questioning myself of my capabilities before this class but now that this class is almost over, she has taught me that I'm capable of what ever I set my mind to.
