I was easy to pick up the lessons because the course was entertaining.

I disliked writing papers. The final group paper was especially difficult. Quite honestly, I didn't see a point in having it; the group oral presentation was good enough (especially since the class is not writing intensive).

The fact that a major portion of the final exam grade is based on an book that wasn't mandatory to buy, yet is on the final exam. What's the deal with this? We weren't made aware of the fact until a week before the exam...

Mami was very knowledgable and nice. She taught us alot and made sure we understood what we were talking about and learning. She also tried to facilitate our discussions.

mami was a great T.A!!

she knew her material well and taught it in an interesting manner. it was a fun class and she made it that way becuase of her own knowledge and enthusiasm

She was a good TA. A little timid at times but she was fair at grading and easy to talk to.

She is very helpful for students to ask her any questions about the exams and assignments.

group presentations

I liked the reviews and how we went over the lecture lessons and how the books were really helpful since they matched with the lectures. It was also very itneresting stories and aspects.

I enjoyed the fact that everyone had to do their own research on each topic, and shared it with the class.

i liked how we each got to tell a story to the class of a time in history, like we were the ones teaching for a day

We can learn more about Japanese Americans by visiting the exhibition and listening to the group presentations.

Incorporation of the stories with concepts which made it easier to remember things.

Having class discussions and not feeling like what we had to say was incorrect or not viable.

Going to the JCCH and examining the exhibit and learning more from it.

interesting

I'm glad I took it. It was really interesting for me and I learned a lot. I learned a lot about Hawaii and Japan and their history together. I would reccommend it.

AMST 310 is a great course that teaches a lot about japanese-Americans! I think it is especially interesting because I am of Japanese descent.

I think this course provides enough information for students to learn about the stories of Japanese Americans and also helps students to think critically.

It's a good course and I learned a lot about Japanese and Japanese Americans and gave me a better understanding of what they went through.

Fun! I got to meet some really cool people and hear very interesting comments and stories from fellow students!
