I liked the concepts and how it was a different type of geography
One of the best teachers I've ever had!!! :)
I liked how the professor went in depth about each section!
I liked how applicable all the curriculum was to modern day events and society. This was a refreshing class that gives me a better insight about what geography is actually about.

Presentations and power points
Kerrie was very interactive while teaching. She also gave us loads of examples from around the world and talked about her own experiences, which I thought were really cool. She would ask us to think about our opinions and then why we would think that way.

I really liked that Prof. Littlejohn was enthusiastic about everything she was teaching and made the material interesting. I think when a teacher is passionate about the subject they teach, it's a lot easier to tune into what they're saying. I think because of her teahing style I learned a lot more about Geography than I thought I would
It was definitely a new way of learning for me, coming straight out of high school i was not use to the lecture type of class but what a better way to learn it from than Ms. Littlejohn. I liked that each day was a new chapter of learning and how much new information i took home every day.
How available Kerrie made herself to us to help with any problems we had relating to the course.
The course was very well organized and the material clearly presented.
I like how the lectures were really understandable and how we talked about the important things on the chapters and also some added information to further understand the course.

do more interactive activities
Maybe add more films?.. those were interesting!

Go slower on the PowerPoint note presentations. That would make it easy for students to take notes.

I thought she was really good...but i did think it was distracting to see some of the people in our class sleeping or playing on their phones during the lecture or films. This class is very informative, and like she said, Americans are pretty pathetic when it comes to geography and probably world events in general. So it would be in the best interest for those students to pay attention!
Cut the lectures more activities.
I don't have any complaints about how Prof. Littlejohn taught the course. I think she did everything she possibly could
I understand the time given was minimal but giving the study guide the day before the exam was tough, maybe we can go over the study guide together as a class the day before the exam.
More interactive activities to ensure the understanding of concepts.

10. What did you like best about the course?
In-class discussions were really funny, the materials and presentations were vell prepd.
Teacher and classmates
The supplemental videos "Power of place". Those videos started with an outline of 3 points. Those main points were further discussed. The oral presentation assignment is great. Usually, I am afraid to talk in front of my classmates. Oral presentations are great ways to practice public speaking. (My father has recommended to me to join Toastmasters.) I benefited from listening to the teacher's personal stories about the Galapagos Islands. Those islands were not familiar to me. I earned a high test score on all regions, but the Latin American region is still a region that is new to me. I appreciate the extra credit questions given to us on exams. Those questions are not easy questions; yet, they are fair. If a student studied the lecture, then he could answer the extra credit questions. The class lasted from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. This is a perfect amount of time. I do not feel as though the class time is too short or too long. I spent a lot of time studying on my own. Every day, we used class time for group discussion. This type of atmosphere made me comfortable. The course followed the syllabus, yet the teacher was able to extend the deadlines of two homework assignments. Thank you. Besides enrolling in Geography 102, I am enrolled in another summer school course. The amount of work required for geography 102 is fair. I do not feel overwhelmed. There is a balance. Geography 102 is not easy. It is still challenging.
11. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?
I would suggest incorporate more shorter videos. Also I would stay away from concentrating on one problem like Three Gorges Dams for a long time.

It sounded like it was fun and I enjoy geography and learning about new cultures.
I like geography
FG-B. I am interested in the field of geography; however, the last time I learned about this subject was when I was in middle school. I am interested in the UH Manoa study abroad program. Unfortuately, I will not apply to study abroad because the UH program is expensive to me. Geography 102 helps me understand different cultures other than my own. Geography 102 also benefits me because my post-graduate goal is to initially do post-graduate service. I hope to be accepted into the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. This organization is different from the Peace Corps; however, both service organizations are humanitarian in nature.
