13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Mr. Zeason is well versed in this subject and offers a lot of knowledge based on his professional background. He was able to keep me interested on the many topics we covered throughout the semester by the way he presented the course material, as well as brining in several guest speakers that worked in the specific areas of family law that we covered.

Humorous Challenging Organized Dynamic

He is very knowledgable and experienced about his subject. He also demonstrated that he has an empathy for his clients -- not what one often things of in a divorce lawyer, who is trying to get every penny for his client without regard for the emotionsl price.

He is a great teacher. his class is interesting, he brings guest to the classroom which makes the class valuable. You go to class and you learn.

his false and true quizes and exams are hard and very tricky.

Be a little more techy (I did not like the typed-out PDF assignments with white-out to revise years). Also, please update assignment reading pages up to current.

assign points to assignments as well so entire grade doesnt rest on tet taking

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

Makes himself available and is very understanding of students' issues and concerns.

He gave plenty of opportunity to ask questions. If we didn't understand the answer right off, he tried again, from another direction. When we requested it, he gave an opportunity for extra credit, to compensate for some of our deficiencies.

He was very helpful for the students trying hard.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes, dynamic professor and has a great deal of experience in family law.

I persononally have decided I could not work in family law -- dealing with all the domestic violence/abuse/child custody/etc issues. But -- if someone had an interest in that area, then, yes, I would recommend Professor Z's class.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Professor Zeason knows his subject/topic - - Family Law. Even though divorce, child custody, property division, ADR, etc., are very emotionally draining topics, Professor Zeason displayed his expertise on the matter and used his experiences to teach us about the subject. To me, this is a tough subject or branch of law to work in. Professor Zeason seems built to be in this arena. Very knowledgeable!

Professor is an attorney in the area of Family Law. His "on the job" knowledge and outside contacts added to the learning experience.

Moderate student(s) who may push their own personal agendas to the point of detracting from class discussion.

We were asked to pay $10.00 for copy materials. I assume the school does not assume this expense. However, I did not feel I received that much copy. The assignment and resource material was such I needed to make hard copies at home. I utilized a considerable cost with this. If the school does not supplement the instructor for copy, then put everything on Lalima so the student can make their own copies.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

Professor Zeason is a nice man. He will take any questions or concerns during instruction and after class.

I could see his efforts to give us more information about family Law every class.

He patiently listened to student(s) who pushed their own personal issues. He ran an extra class session for those who needed more review in property settlement.

He arranged for a Saturday class to review some important material.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes. He has wisdom in his field of law. He knows the statutes, is familiar with his colleagues (as seen in who he brought in as guest speakers), and has seen the gamut of divorce and child custody in his day. His stories about his experiences are interesting.

Yes, definitely. He's truly concerned about student success, not just for the grade, but so that they are able to apply the knowledge in real world experiences as paralegals.

Yes! If the student is interested in Family Law, then Professor is the instructor to have.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

Thank you for teaching me, actually it was my first class at KCC. I think it was very helpful for me who has just started studying family Law.

I thoroughly enjoyed his class and teaching style because he makes learning fun.

Professor Zeason brought in some very seasoned professionals in their line of work. They were great speakers and knew their topics very well. Hats off to everyone and anyone who works in Family Law.

His major strength is his knowledge of the field.

Mr. Zeason engages each person in his class. His knowledge of Family law helps us to understand the different concepts. His sharing of professional experiences also helps students to understand and grasp the process of family law work.

Mr. Zeason knows this area of law well and he has a lot of knowledge to pass on to the students.

He would call the students that were absent in class to check up on them. Let them know what went on in class.

When I could not attend a class due to an emergency, he called to explain what was covered in class and the assignment that was due the following class.

Yes, I learned a lot. He's nice and funny.

Yes! If anyone is interested, or think they may be interested in the practice of Family law, Mr. Zeason provides an excellent overview as well as practical lessons on what a family law paralegal would be expected to do.

Mr. Zeason's way of teaching is serious, but he throws in some "fun" into his lectures so that it doesnt get so boring.
