10. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
The feedback given during our projects and presentations to help us improve.
Examples of what was bad and how to make them good. Pointing out good/bad is fairly basic. Explaining the why and how are better.
Some of the lecture (mostly at the beginning of the semester)
The hole course has been amazingly interesting. Is one of the courses where I think I have learned more and I have been more than 10 years at the university. The tasks were difficult and time consuming but the experience gained with them has resulted really useful. Very good and motivational presentations. When you hear Jason talks it just makes you happy and proud to have based your studies on engineering or computer science
I like how we got to use Jason's SAGE technology to show our visualization projects on the wall. I also liked the idea of video conferencing with another class from a different area. I like the visualization projects that we did for class since it allowed me to increase my skills in JavaScript and web development. It was also interesting to hear about Jason's special interest in human augmentics.
11. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
Sage not working at times.
Data mining. Prof Leigh needs to criticize more. Prof Johnson needs to explain his single word response(no/bad) more.
Come-togher-to-show-progress classes. One to two of those is enough per project. Otherwise just make it a "lab session" where people can come and show progress, exchange ideas etc.
Nothing was least valuable about this course.

25. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
Great Professor and really interesting person. Would definitely take another one of his classes.
Prof. Leigh: Very knowledgable teacher and a extremely friendly person. Prof. Johnson: Very knowledgable teacher, should be more professional and less "bossy."
He is an awesome professor!
that he is a person that likes to present big ideas and makes those ideas happen. I also like how he's bringing new technology and ways of teaching into the class. We got to use his SAGE technology to help us demonstrate our visualization projects to the class as well as to the other students in Chicago. It was also cool that we got to video conference and work with some of the people in Chicago on our visualizations. If any case, I would like to take a class with this professor.

29. My overall evaluation of this course is...
This was a really interesting course and I learned a lot about Visualizations. The projects were quite difficult since it was in Javascript and we did have to learn it quickly to complete the projects.
Generally a good and challenging class. Project settings should be fixed at the beginning of the project and not constantly change (and thus taxing the student). Forced team-mixes were not welcome.
that is one of the best courses you can take at ICS right now.
that this class helped me learn more about visualization, but on top of that, it also helped me learn more about web design, web development, and JavaScript. Also, the fact that we got to use this new technology and new method of teaching in the class, I would like to see some of this implementation being made in future classes. If any case, I would definitely recommend this class to someone.
30. Other comments:
Fact of life: people like to complain. Keep the high grading standard. Unfortunately this class has only reinforced my opinion that distance group work is a horrible idea.
It seemed as if it was Prof. Johnson's class than Prof. Leighs. I would have wished a bit more support in some cases where Prof. Leigh sided with the students. Grading was consistent but not particularly fair as sometimes a completed task was only awarded 1/3pts. A _satisfactory_ explanation was not given upon request. It should have been declared that the UIC class is undergraduate.
I just hope that Jason can teach me another course in the future!
I would like to see another data visualization with this set of teaching and technology sometime in the future.
