13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Good lecture
He makes Math the most ahmazing simplest thing in the world, thats a major Plus! He makes his lessons simple and to the point and I actually can understand math a lot more with him teaching it.
He is great at breaking anything down so that you can understand it, he is patient and is willing to go back a few steps to be sure you fully understand the topic and all of it's ideas. He is great with explanations and making him self available to students.
Kyle is an excellent teacher. I was very intimidated by math before I took his class, shortly into the semester, I found myself enjoying it. He grades very quickly and is always willing to go out of his way to help. I would take future math classes from him in a heartbeat!
He not only knows what he is teaching, he also makes sure that we know what he is teaching. He will write a problem on the board and walk around helping and talking to students if they need help.
Kyle definitely knows his material and he is able to make it very easy to understand. He is also very willing and patient to help his students understand what he is teaching.
Helping students outside of class time.
He made learning the methods really easy to understand.
Being able to explain a problem step by step.
He knew the subject very well. Great personality and very helpful.
Mr Ishibashi was able to demonstrate that a complex was just like every other math problem. Gave us enough time to try the problem and would after go over it together. which really helped me a lot to understand the material.
course objectives and procedures were clear and he offer people to stay after for extra help.
He explains and goes over everything very well and is a very good teacher.
the way his teaching is clearly, and very easy to understand.
He taught the class material very well. he is very helpful.
He knows the material and subject very well. Very intelligent instructor. Excellent communicator. Responds to emails promptly. I emailed him at 1:00am once and he responded 10 minutes after. He cares about his students academic. He gives extra credits to improve scores on the exam. If you miss a quiz, he'll let you make it up, but does not mean we should take advantage of it. We still have to show up to class to fully understand the material. He's somewhat lenient. He's able to adapt lessons to many learning styles and ability levels. He has a lot of patience and understanding. Speaks loud and clear. Good classroom management. Offers help when we need and flexible in office hours.
Professor Ishibashi is very strong in teaching his lessons, very clear and straightforward. He was also accessible almost everyday after class at Kahala Mall, which is very helpful during the day before the exams.
Kyle is a very caring individual and you can tell he enjoys teaching. He is organized, professional, knowledgeable, with a mellow demeanor. He has every quality I feel a teacher should have.
He is very patient, and can go step through step through a problem very efficiently.
He is clear and is always willing to go over problems as many times as necessary. He is the best math teacher I've ever had:)
He presents the curriculum in a clear and easy to understand way. He's very nice and eager to go over something again if you don't understand it and he doesn't make you feel stupid when you don't get something.
EVERYTHING! I hate math but with kyle as my teacher i can understand everything he teaches! he makes it so easy to understand. And the best part is that hes always available to help. even other teachers cant explain the way he does. Its clear and simple. and with exams if your really not ready he'll give you an extension and help you study. He even gives practice exams that prepare you for the exam. if you do them you'll know what your doing. Math became one of my favorite subjects again. SERIOUSLY, BEST MATH TEACHER IVE EVER HAD!
The way he teaches the class in a clear and understandable way.
He knows his math. He is very clear and detailed in demonstrating the math problems. He teaches in a way that is so effective and helpful in trying to understand each and every section in which we are learning. He also corrects our homework and test right away so that we have it by the next class.
He is a very patient teacher and he doesnt mind going over things again if someone needs help in the class. he also makes the subject seems very easy and entertaining so i enjoy coming to class.
He shows concern for his students. He teaches his material in a very understanding way. He makes difficult things easy to understand. He provides study guides for his students which helps us out for our tests.
His notes, his explanations. His answers to your questions and his dedication to help you.
Knows subject. Makes math easier to learn.
Kyle was very kind to all of his students. He offered to tutor us and to encourage us to ask for help in his free time and been patient the whole way. He would always make sure we understood our assignment. He knows a lot about math, and showed multiple ways of solving certain problems.
Knows the subject area really well
His teaching style. I had to retake this course again. My previous instructor, lets say he was a bit difficult to understand and maybe expected you to know these things already so he moved faster and barely explained. On the other hard, Ishibashi is great. He has notes for you, lectures you and goes step by step on explaining with examples etc.
Kyle's major strengths where to give alot of examples during class. Also if we didn't understand he would re-explain the problem.
made it really easy to learn and knew his subject really well
commitment to students success in math
he knew what he was talking about and was willing to help students if they didn't understand
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
Nothing! He does what he does great! "oh shit!"<----- Dont change this, makes me feel good that you are human and you make mistakes.
Nothing.
Nothing at all. He's my favorite math teacher.
None
Nothing, he does well.

no changes!
Kyle is an excellent instructor. He is better than some of the other instructors I encountered, but he does move too fast in his teaching. Sometimes he would lecture on two chapters. And the amount of homework he gives is a lot, which I understand because we need practice. Seriously the homework does take a lot of time especially if your bad in math. Not too bad if this was your only class. Some students have other commitments and responsibilities like jobs and other classes. Because he lectures too fast, sometimes it's hard to keep up. It's really tough to be behind this class. Once you get behind, you tend to forget what he lectured and if we are too shy to ask for his help, it's up to ask to learn the material on our own. Because he's fast in his teaching, it makes me feel intimidated asking for his help because I feel that he expect us to understand it right away. If he teaches again next semester, maybe he can slow it down a bit and give a study review in class before the exam. There's a lot of problems in the exams and sometimes an hour is not enough to finish it. He is a good teacher for someone who is good in math.
None.
I suggest he sets his sites high and he could have any teaching job he wants......
No changes.
Nothing. Unless he wants to bring snacks for us on the last day of class.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
showing more and more exmaple
He made himself available everyday at work or at his chill time outside of work. He makes sure that anyone with a problem with the subject can understand what he is talking about.
He always gave his office hours even his cell number to be sure students could contact him, if he noticed you needed help he would stay after class with you or try and make time to come and help you with your work.
He makes himself available to students anytime of the day. He made sure the class had his office hours, knew his teaching schedule, had his personal cell phone, and also told us he hangs out at Starbucks in the evening, so we can meet him there for tutoring. This is rare in a teacher, he's awesome!
he offers times when they can come and seek help from him daily. He helps students with their misunderstanding with the problems/section
Kyle makes his students available in and outside of class by email or by phone. He is very prompt with replies and is very helpful.
Gave students an opportunity to bring up your grade.
He would redo problems if we didn't understand, until we understood. He was available outside of his office hours.
If they need any help he is avaiable.
Would help out the class during quiz's and allow corrections to be done on homework.
he would always ask if there were and trouble on our homework and he would go over it right before the next lesson began. he would tell us to come see him after class or email him.
always help his/her students after class.
He lets us students know how we're doing in the class in a timely manor and is always available for extra help if we need it.
he walking around in class and tell us what we wrong when we solve question
Kyle sends the students grade sheets every chapter exam. The grade sheets give us an idea where we stand in the class. Kyle would check if we're on track with our homework and attendance.
Even though he is fast in his teachings, he still offers help if we need it. He is also concern about his students passing this course because he gives extra credit to improve exam scores.
Asking for any questions when one of us had a confused look.
In the classroom, he is very in tune with his students and can tell who is following and who is not. He will slow things down, go over something again, or stay after class so you can ask him questions.
He asks each student how they are doing, and how else he can make his students better.
He was always willing to stay after class to go over any questions.
One time he saw me looking confused and asked me what was wrong. He's good at picking up facial cues. And he remembers names, yaaay.
He excuses you of you have work or if your sick and helps you when you come in for tutoring and will take time to explain to you about the lecture you missed. ive never seen so many students show up to tutoring before.
He was always open to talk to after class or you could text, phone call or meet up with him for study sessions.
He always answered our questions. He explained things so clearly and always wanted to make sure we understood the math. He was always available for any student that needed help. He always took the time to go across the problems. He also corrects our homework and test right away so that we have it by the next class. This way, we can see where we need to study more of or try harder.
He shows concern by constantly asking if we are all on the same page, and he also encourages students to see him outside of class or meet him at Kahala mall where he grades papers, just incase anyone needs help. He makes himself available outside of class, which is very helpful.
He updates our grades after every test. I feel like that is good so we can see how we are doing in his class. He is willing to help any student who doesn't understand what we are learning. He spends a lot of his free time offereing his services to us. He also returns assignments back the next class which is good also because he lets us make corrections on the problems we got wrong.
Talked to you one on one, would explain anything to you till you understood.
Worked with students outside of class
by offering all of us to study with him outside of school for those who needed additional help on homework or just the chapters in general.
He knows when we look confused and what not, he'll ask us straight up if there's something wrong or not clear.
I remember when a lot of us students didn't do too well in our exam, and he provided extra credit to bring our grade up. Um, I'm not sure but I go to his office hours for help and he does the same in class, clear instructions and goes over it until you understand what you did wrong/how to get the answer.
He would email the students report card after every test. Also he would tell them in person or through email that they need help or they should just drop out
made himself available outside of class time and school hours and gave us extended dates to finish work if needed.
willing to spend extra time to assist students
willing to help

You have to be able to to take notes fast as well, but if your not too shy to ask for help, he'll help you.
Yes, because everything he teaches are incorporated into the homework and exams. Not to mention the fact that his lessons are clearly defined.

Yes ! He's awesome ! Teaching skills are great !
Yes, I think I iterate his style too much, but it really does help. Professor is a chill teacher and hes able to get to your level, meaning hes easy to talk to and get to know on a personal level...which is good because with some teachers they don't care or remember you.
I would recommend Kyle because he's a good teacher and he's doesn't go as fast as other teachers would. Also he's a pretty good teacher.

Good luck in California! :)
I learned my math in a whole different way because of how he teaches. I may have not done well on my test but it is not because of his teaching. It is only from my own self trying to remember all the different problems, equations and math situations.

Whenever we have any questions, he try to solve it until I understand.
When they are behind on mods. he would let them know and advise them to hurry and put alittle more effort in their work. We have portfolio checks like every once or twice a week and he'll always let you know where you are at, in math and grade wise.
He talked to each student one by one showing them their grade and where they are at in the course. so if they're behind they can catch up.
Helping one-on-one.
He walked around the class room looking at students works and if he saw someone having trouble with a problem he'll go help them.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I definitely will recommend him to other students because he is a very good teacher. He really knows his subject area, and his teaching ways are very clear, very understandable.
YES!! He is the best math teacher I have ever had!!
Yes, definitely. I wish he was teaching Math 103. His teaching is very easy to understand especially for students like me who are weak in that department. The best teacher I'd had thus far.
Yes because he is a good teacher and he teaches well.
YES, of course. I would because I had a math 25 teacher before him who did not do all of this for me. Kyle has and helps me to not feel stupid. He makes my other friend not feel stupid too unlike our last teacher.
Yeah, because he is a all around good teacher.
Absolutely. Math is my worst subject and he helped me really learn and understand what I was doing. I wish all professors were this effective at teaching.
Definitely Yes! He was the right teacher for Math, he knows the subjects well, and openness of conversation to any question about class subjects.
yes, because he does the job best
Yes!!! He is very fair.
Most deff. He was an excellent teacher. Its to bad he doesn't teach other sections at KCC. Its hard to find a good math teacher.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He is good at explaining the material in a way that everybody can understand.
He presents the information in a way that is easy to understand. Very skilled teacher...real, laid back, but also expects students to be responsible for themselves. I like how he always put up practice exams..that helped a lot. Also, I always knew what was expected of me. If I ever had to contact him, he was quick to respond. Thanks for a great semester.
He has patience with the students. He speaks loud and at a good pace so we dont get lost and confused and miss information.
his strengths is his knowledge in the material and lectures as well as having a great sense of humor throughout class. he also explains each problem step by step and reteaches if a student doesn't understand.
he is very understanding with how you present your answers on homework assignments. he also puts in the time to help us before class starts and asks us if we need any help on any problems.
He knew the subject well.
patient and very helpful for those of us who dont learn math easily. i was able to understand his teachings more than other math teachers in the past.
he made a difficult course extremely easy to understand. missed a section and tried to figure it out myself, no luck. 10 minutes with kyle and it was clear as day.
I think him being young (or maybe it was the way he was dressed that made him so young) was the reason why I liked his class so much. He kind of reached to us on a personal level, eye-to-eye. He was VERY clear in his lessons (which was GREAT for me because I actually learned something) and he's very smart but he translated that in a non-pretentious way. He would crack a joke or two and this class didn't seem intimidating at all.
The way his teaching style was, he made it very easy and understandable. He broke down the steps in solving a math problem very clearly. With some other math teachers that i have taken in the past, it did not compare to anything of his teaching styles. I hated math but for some reason this semester, he made me love it! Teachers in the past made it feel like math was very complicated and hard to grasp, but he made it seem like it was very easy to understand. I wish there were more math teachers like Kyle.
Knows his stuff. Presents material in a clear manner, easy to understand.
Knew the material like the back of his hand.
MATH, MATH, MATH, MATH!
Knew the subject very well and showed concerned for his students.
He knows the field very good and teaches in a way everyone understands.
Helping his students out, explaining things well, and giving us chances to make our grade higher.
Understanding students, and explaining things clearly.
teaches good
He is very clear with explaining problems. Gives helpful examples and makes sure students understand the material. His tests are fair and straight forward. I appreciated the fact that he gave practice quizes to keep everyone up to date with the material that was covered. He is excelent with responding to emails.
knows his stuff
Great and going step by step through problems and keeping students conscious about when exams are and the homework.
Very informative lessons and very willing to help students outside of class.
good at taking his time and explaining things that students dont understand
He knew was he was talking about, went through problems slowly and repeated problems so we understood
Mr. Ishibashi was really good at explaining the material in a way that is perfect for community college students. He breaks down everything to a T, even if we don't need to know something for a test, learning the little things help the students with understanding why a formula works a certain way, etc.
He is very intelligent. He made sure to break everything down into steps so that students could understand.
He's cool and knows the the subject well. He's a fair grader and he makes class fun where students participate in class lectures.
He explains the material very clear and will explain it well enough for everyone to understand. He is ALWAYS available if you need help. He encourages questions if you don't understand and will help you until you do understand. He is very FAIR and WANTS you to do well! He NEVER gives up on us. BEST math teacher I have had for my 3yrs I have been in college.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
N/A
nothing really, he seems to know exactly what he's doing and class lectures are really simple to follow along as long as you take notes and do the homework assignments.
the only thing that I would suggest Kyle to change is that maybe he should go a bit slower when it comes to really difficult problems.
none
nothing, i enjoyed the class and was encouraged by the way i was able to understand the material because i usually dont understand math that well.
Besides that one time I tried to turn in my redo for my homework and he didn't accept it (but it was my fault that I procrastinated), I as a student didn't seem to have any problem understanding the material.
None, he's the best!
none comments.
Nothing.
In my opinion, give due dates to all homework assignments that way they're able to learn the material better, instead of doing the homework the last minute and forgetting how to do everything.

Make class more fun. I know were just learning about math but its hard to sit in a chair for over an hour just writing numbers the whole time.

None.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He responded to email promptly and effectively. He is very patient and willing to go as slow as he can to make you grasp the material.
He knew that some of us had very full plates with jobs and other life stuff. He did have expectations, but they were fair.
He always sends us emails about important information and he posts practice exams so that we can study for up coming tests
always allow room for questions throughout class lectures, and helps any students when they need it. also offers a lot of after class help.
he asks everyone before class starts if anyone needs help on the homework problems. he also lets us redo homework assignments if we get a less than 5 on it, and we could redo it again and again and again until we get a 5 out of 5 before the exam that's is based off of the homework.
had open hours
gave us opportunity to correct wrong answers on math homework and gave us practice tests with a good amount of time to complete them and come back to class with questions before the actual test.
He would always recommend him come see him at his office and he would always be at Kahala Mall outside of Starbucks if we needed help. I find that great because for a teacher to be accessible in and outside of class which is rare I think especially in college.
He asked if we had any questions. He was available after class and outside of class if we needed any help.
Spent as much time as you needed in order to understand the concepts.
warns the students if they haven't good at test. and must ask him for help before the exam on day.
He would meet up with the students outside of class, either in his office or at kahala mall.
To email him about any homework or questions. Also stays after class if anyone needs him.
He allows us to correct our homework and gives reviews.
By being very accessible to them outside of class.
He makes it very comfortable for students if they need help. He always reminds us of his office times and other times hes available for tutoring.
He took time to individualy approach each student while doing practice examples in class. He passed by each student's desk to review their work to make sure eveyone is on the right track.
n/a
He put up multiple versions of practice exams and was available most after office hours to help. He gave email reminders as well as sent us our scores once they were done.
Making sure he takes time with each student to make sure they understand the work.
responded to emails, gave alternative opportunities if we did bad on exams and hw
He made himself available to students as much as they needed.
He made sure to give evryone a chance to turn in incomplete work.
He told us his schedule of when student can meet him before and after class time. He understands that this subject is not easy and would offer retakes for tests.
When giving us problems to do in class he will walk around and make sure each and every one of us understands what we are doing. I struggled on some things and he would come by and explain it to me until I understood. if he sees that the majority of the class is struggling on a problem he will go back to the front of the class and explain it in another way until we understand.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, you can learn a lot from the professor. If you have a hard time with math, Kyle always tries his best to help you understand.
Yes! Actually I already have.
Yes because he knows his subject very well and its great with teaching
highly recommend, though there is a lot of homework and is somewhat tedious i can see why he gives it out, it really helps when it comes to the final exams. fun teacher and explains very well, also is willing to help every student.
I would actually recommend Kyle Ishibashi to students because he is very understanding and he wants all his students to pass math 100 and be able to move onto either another higher math level or in life.
yes, he know his subject well.
yes, easy to understand and very helpful and willing to answer any questions we had about the material.
yes. makes life easy
Yes because he knows his stuff and he's going to teach it to you and a clear and precise way. He's a little lenient (a little) but it's enough for you to get a good grade and still work hard for it.
Sure, because he's teaching style is the best! He made math seem so easy to understand and grasp. Take him because if you get his teaching style you will do great in math!
Yups, most definitely. Very easy to learn from the way he teaches.
Yes, very good at teaching the subject
yes, because he's good instructor and explains clearly.
Yes because he is a very good teacher. He is also cool.
Yes because he teaches the field very good and speaks loud to the class in a good clear voice.
Yes, good teacher who knows the material.
Yes. Best Math teacher ever!
I would recommend Ishibashi.
I would definitely recomment Kyle Ishibashi to other students. I am a horrible math student, math is most hated subject, but he teaches in a way that students can clearly understand. He makes math understandable and easy to comprehend.
yeah, hes a pretty okay professor.
Yes, he is one of the math teachers that actually helped me understand math and use it effectively.
Very informative lessons and very willing to help students outside of class.
yes, his exams are quite easy if you study for them and he gives homework questions that will really relate to future not just non sense questions
I would absolutely recommend him to other students because if I can pass a math class, ANYONE can!
Yes! He is a great teacher.
Yes, because he is a great teacher that knows the subject and when a student needs help he's able to help them.
YES! He was recommended to me by another student and I did not go un-pleased. Math is not a favorite for many students but Ishibashi made the material easy to understand and gives you chances to do better. He does not give up on his students, he wants you to do well, all you have to do is ask!
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Great professor, he always help me when I having difficulty on homework.
Good job!
pretty straight forward teacher and is very logical.

He's a cool, chill guy but yet a very good teacher that can actually teach math and make it seem not so complicating!
Thank you for help and explain to me how to solve that problems.

He is an excellent Math teacher.

He made me understand math 100 way better than the other teacher which i dropped the first week!
He is a good person and even better teacher! Though he probably won't be here much longer because of greater things out there, he is an asset to the college.
Excellent teacher.
I enjoyed his class. I never did so good in school before. I was able to do all my homework, pass all the exams, and finals are coming up and I am almost certain I will end the semester with an A in his class. First A in my whole college experience. I always asked for help and he helped me until I completely understood, not many teachers will dedicate their time like he did. Throughout the whole semester I never had to worry about math because if I'm struggling Ishibashi would be there to help me!
18. Other comments:
thanks for a great semester!
While in class it was sometimes difficult to see what was being written down on the board due the fact 6 students' heads were blocking my view. Repeatedly I needed to stand up from my chair to see. Mr. Ishibashi seen me but continued to write on the bottom of the board, i felt very displeased that during the first 6 weeks there was a lack of consideration for the students in the back of the classroom.
We need more teachers who teaches like him at KCC!
None comments.
i like he gives enough time for students to study the exams and do the make up work.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
his teaching.
He presents material in a clear manner. He is flexible to the students needs. He allows you to correct your work, not only to get a better grade, but to encourage full understanding of math concepts.
He truley cares about his students while explaining the class material he would look around at each student and if you looked confused he stoped explain to you what you dont understand until you did and then would move. In the end he would always have 100% of the class understanding what he just went over in class...Thats a teacher that cares about their students...
1. Thorough knowledge of the subject 2. Genuinely cares about his students 3. Prompt and efficient 4. Pleasant teaching style 5. Makes class fun
He explains the material very well. The problem that I had with my math class last semester was that I felt lost with the material. Kyle explained it so well, that I understood it.
He knows this subject well and teaches you easier way to understand problems.
explaining the steps to problems we had questions about. he even made me understand word problems and how easy they are to do.
knowledgeable and helpful
Kyle Ishibashi has a unique way of teaching. He has the ability to teach the important main subject in a timely manner. He is very fair. He has an awesome grading system. His greatest strengths as a teacher is being able to help students take a hard problem and make it into something that seems easy.
Kyle is so patient and will break a problem down to the most simple form needed for any student in his class to understand it. He was SO clear in his explanations that I finally "got" things I had never understood EVER. He is an awesome, patient, gifted, knowledgeable teacher.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
nothing. great teaching ways, and cool guy. it was an honor to have him as an instructor.
None!
none he does an excellent job keep on doing what your doing.
None. He is an excellent teacher.
n/a
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
he sends us an email after a exam and shows us our grades to see how we are doing.
He extends test dates if the majority of students show concern of readiness.
Before class, Kyle old ask if anyone needed any help with the homework. if so, the problems would be done step-byb-step and thoroughly on the board. He would not turn anyone away. Also during the quizes, he would offer any help he was allowed to give and made sure everyone understood the process of that certain section.
This is how kyle shows concern for his students. Mon,tue,wen,thurs,sun..8:00p-11:00p...kyle provides tutoring at kahala mall i have been their many of times. I have seen him help 8 to 10 students with diffrent levels of math and diffrent problems multi task it all at once....I DONT NO OF ANY OTHER TEACHER AFTER WORKING ALL DAY THAT WOULD USE THEIR PERSONAL TIME TO TUTOR THEIR STUDENTS FOR ANOTHER 3 MORE HOURS AND NOT GET PAYED FOR IT.....This is why i say Kyle truley cares for the well being of his students the proof is right their above..
1. Answers all of our questions 2. Listens to requests 3. E-mails our grades promptly 4. Takes the time to check our work in detail when there is more than one right answer 5. Makes us practice tests
He made sure we understood the material before moving on.
He is willing to help you understand the subject better.
by letting us contact him whenever we could, he was very understanding when it came to emergancies or sick days.
He offered extra credits. He would ask questions.
Making time outside of class for us, giving us practice exams and lots of homework so we can really grasp the subject and what we needed to learn.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes. he is a great instructor, and has established an great learning atmosphere.
Yes! He is easy to understand. A very effective math teacher!
Yes, because he is not only a great and brilliant math teacher, but is friendly and easy to undertand and approach.
Absolutley and i already have.
Yes, I would recommend Kyle Ishibashi to students because he is a great teacher, his class is fun, and I learned a lot.
Yes, very much so. Like I have said before, he explains the material really well. He breaks down the problem for you where you can understand it.
He is a great teacher and knows this subject well.
yes, he makes math very easy to understand and he breaks it down so we can understand, learn, study, and take the quiz and pass.
I would definitely recommend kyle to students because he teaches in way that not only help solve problems, but rather understand it and how math works.
Kyle is a great teacher, he can make the most complicated math problem make sense.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
great teacher, cool guy.
He's awesome!
Kcc should give him a rase...he is and asset to his students and kcc.
That is it.
out of all the times i took math 25 this was probably the best and more of an understanding for me.
Kyle Ishibashi is TEACHER OF THE YEAR!!
18. Other comments:
Yes please continue to provide tutoring at the math center this also help me a great deal....Min hee, feng...Excellent tutors they know the material the best out of all your tutors they both very nice, easy to understand, always on time when they start work. Kcc should give these two tutors a rase also their and asset to kcc and their students..

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He is a kind and friendly teacher who cares more about his students than his own well being. He is not biased and treats everyone fairly and with respect
Kyle Ishibashi is a GREAT math teacher! Math is my worst subject so its much needed for a RIGHT teacher and Kyle ishibashi is just what math students need. He explains very clearly and always gives examples. Even if a student just does not quite get it he'll go over and over it with different senerios to make sure the student understands. He always sacrificed his time for example like lunch to tutor a student to understand more. It's clear to see how much he loves math and would help anybody to feel the same way.
His knowledge of the subject.
Kyle Ishibashi's strengths as a teacher is that he is very well organized and he knows the material he is teaching. He makes learning fun and easy and that is something a lot of teachers don't know how to do.
Kyle is a modesty person. when I confused for some questions, he always check his answer first. He is a very good teacher!
He is very organized with teaching his sections, and is very prompt with grading quizzes and exams as soon as possible.
the best teacher i've had in a while!!
Prof Ishibashi is an excellent young teacher and I strongly encourage him to continue in the field of teaching. He has an excellent demeanor and a natural ability to comfortably connect with the students. I had a great learning experience with a rather difficult subject. Excellent teacher.
All of the above. I dropped out of his class early but still missed the withdrawl time because of financial and pissed off mom reasons. But what i can say is that he is an exceptional teacher. I really liked his personality, his teaching methods, and his concern for his students (me). I needed the most help in class and yet he was still patient with me.
Kyle knows his material very well and knows how to teach it well to his students to a point where it is easily understood at the end of lecture.
gives us a chance to thouroughly understand the content of what he's teaching. super encourages questions. makes class enjoyable and still challenging. super patient.
His major strength is understand the questions meaning.
Great at explaining things, when students find it confusing. He will take the needed time to really explain things.
Kyle Ishibashi's strength as a teach was that he knew the subject really well, does great examples and it relates to the hw and exams that we have in class. Also he gives us time and helps us with homework or quizzes when help needed.
Clear and understanding. Gets the point straight out and understandable! knows how to teach
he knows the subject really well & he makes it easier for everyone to understand the subject.
Professor Ishibashi is well organized and understanding. His teaching tools make learning math enjoyable.
he explained by giving the verbal and mathamatical deffinition of what he was teaching. he also gives examples of what he is teaching.
He is a good mood maker and I am pretty sure all the students in the class like him.
He is really great at explaining problems in a manner which you understand it fully. He uses a lot of examples to ensure that you understand the process of the problem rather than just getting the answer. His class seemed really easy because he's a really great teacher. He allows students to learn from their errors by letting them correct their homework an re-submit for full credit.
Mr. Ishibashi is very approachable.
Mr Ishibashi understands students and does a very good job of teaching the materials.
He knew his subject area very well and through that he was able to teach us the material very clearly.
Very Cool Professor. Smart and knows the subject well. Easy to understand and has teaching techniques that works good on me.
Kyle's strengths as a teacher is that he knew the subject well enough to make students understand it. He is very helpful; whenever a student is struggling he tries his best to explain the material even further for that student to understand it. He gives a lot of examples for student to try during lecture time and goes around class and checks if students know what he is lecturing about.
He has extensive knowledge on the subject material.
Professor Ishibashi has an acute understanding of his students and their comprehension of the course materials and competencies. Prior to taking his Math 100 course I had an aversion to Maths (numbers in general), but Ishibashi worked one-on-one with me to make sure that I understood the formulas and how to apply them. He is easily accessible and always makes it a point to keep his office hours open. One benefit of having a younger professor like Ishibashi is the common understanding among individuals that are not separated by more generations than what can be counted on one hand. Clearly, this won't always be the case as we all follow the same life cycle, but I have a feeling that Ishibashi will find a way to relate to his students in the years to come. He shows a genuine interest in his students' performances: formulating analogies and exercises that students can easily grasp. Instead of teaching to the letter grade, Ishibashi teaches to the material. I almost forgot that I was being graded because I got so caught up in how interesting Math was -- an epiphany for me.
Strengths as a teacher is being well organized and giving students many fair opportunities to redeem their grades by letting them redo wrong problems on homework etc. Also, the process in which he taught was very understandable.
He knows his material very well.
he was fair to all his students, and provided help outside of the classroom when it was needed
One of his major strengths as a teacher is putting up examples on the board which i thought was good because I like seeing more than one example. His practice exams are also helpful to have when preparing for an exam.
He's a very good instructor. He knows his subject matter and let us participate in class..
He's much more relaxed than other math teacher's, and pays attention to the students to see if they show understanding of what he is saying. He had more of a tutor-like persona; it was more he wanted to help you to understand the material and pass the class than a teacher who wants to see how much you do not know. It created a friendlier and less-stressful learning environment.
He knows all the subject and tries to explain the lesson as easy as possible so that the class can understand it.
Really understanding. Great at presenting the lectures in a very understandable manner. Makes sure students aren't totally lost and knows what they're doing.
Kyle was fair if he knew we were having or had a difficult time on the exam he'll allow us to redo and learn from our mistakes and make up points.
Understanding, yet strict. Explained well. Dedicated.
His notes are really helpful. I don't have to read my book because he summarizes everything for you. ;D
Kyle is an amazing teacher. He always gave me the extra help I needed when I was struggling. He gives grades promptly after every exam, I always knew what my grade was in his class. His teaching is very clear and to the point, he makes it very easy to understand.
I think his way of teaching is very understadable.
He's nice and helpful!
1. Ability to present material in a clear and concise way 2. Friendly and approachable for students to ask questions
He is good teacher. He explains the lecture very well, without leaving any confusions.
He has none
For being always there if you needed help with the work. Also, for putting practice exams before the exam.
he a great teacher all around.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Nothing.
I don't want him to make any changes, he's already so good and reasonable.
Some people said Kyle gave us too much homework. But I think this method is good for math class. Doing homework is a good way to practice and learn math.
I wouldn't change a thing.
no changes needed!
Dress more appropriate. You are much better than you appear.
I wouldnt change Kyle, i would change all the students that take his class and that i am stuck putting up with!
No changes
go over more difficult examples
teach other sections too?
He did very well in communicating as well as understanding our problems.ã??
Nothing that i can think of that he can change his teaching skills. I like the way how he helps us with the homework and gives us a chance to redo some problems so that it can help us with our grades.
none
none!
No changes.
Nothing! I really enjoyed the class.
None.
None. He was very concerned and worked hard to make the students work hard for our grades.
Stay the same. A very good professor!
I suggest that Kyle should try to post up the practice exams much earlier then just one class meeting before the exam date. For example, if the class meetings are on tuesday, thursday and the exam date is the following tuesday; he would only post up the practice exams on thursday which only gives the student to study over the weekend. Kyle should take into consideration that students aren't only taking his class, most students has other classes to worry about. So he should try to post the practice exams like 2 weeks before the exam date.
None.
None what so ever. In fact, if students had access to professors like Ishibashi there wouldn't be a literacy problem or so many sections of pre-college Mathematics. My biggest gripe is that he doesn't teach anything higher than Math 100. I would have jumped at the opportunity to take another class from him. I would encourage him, when he's ready, to explore this possibility. Whatever he decides he is an asset to the University of Hawaiâ??i faculty and students.
No changes.
I really enjoyed his way of teaching. I don't think he needs to change anything.
nothing
Put out the practice exams a little bit earlier.
I don't have thing to suggest on how he teaches but a thumbs up to him..
He may be a little too lenient on some things and could've increased the difficulty a little further to prepare the students to who will move on to the higher levels of math.
None

Nothing.
I have no changes. I think he is a wonderful teacher.
I think he should talk to every student more equally. As far as I see, he asked just certain students if there is any question during class. I felt unfair for that. I think prfessor schould treat students fairly.
N/A
Different profession
nothing everything is okay.
none
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He was able to give the maximum amount of help needed with good office hours.
He shows his concern by helping right on the spot of confusion. If he's on an example, he would go on till every single student gets it. If it's gonna take longer, then he'll advise that student to meet him in his office hours for more help. He always has grades fast and ready for us.
He shows concern by allowing his students to redo the homework to achieve the highest possible grade we can. I think that it's awesome because it allows us to learn what we got wrong and receive credit for it.
After exams were passed back to the students he would go over the problems that students had difficulty in. He is willing to help all students at any time.
yes. he is very caring and really wants you to learn the material.
He was always available and in many different way. Office hours, e mails, cell phone, evenings at Kahala Starbuck's, I knew I could get in touch with him when I needed to. He is a good person for this job.
Yes he did. He was VERY patient with me and wish that all my other teachers could be like him. I needed the most help in his class because it takes me forever to learn something, but he still helped he and didnt treat me like an idiot. He still showed concern even though he is busy going to school himself.
very understanding about un-avoidable circumstances and allows to catch up with the rest of class.
Mr.Ishibashi shown great concern for his students.
Keeping posted for grades, sent emails out, gave extra credit assignments to those who really need it
He showed concern on how he made time before or outside of class if we have any questiong or concerns about any of the assignments or last min. review on what weve learned for the next exam to prepare for, also he makes practice exams and to see where us as a student where are strength's are and weaknesses.
If we needed help he was right there ready to help!
of course! we meet up with him at kahala mall starbucks at night and he helps us while hes busy studying for his own exam also.
He gave us opportunity in class to ask any questions about last nights homework.
he met with people even when he did not have an office. he also help people outside of school when he was gradeing work.
He uses a lot of examples, and goes over everything as long as you ask. He reviews homework problems which students have trouble with. He also provides a lot of time where you can get help outside of school, such as office hours. He is also really good at keeping students up to date with e-mails and grade checks.
He made himself available to students who needed help with the homework. He gave his students an option to redo exam problems to get a better grade and give them a better understanding of how to solve the problems. He also keeps the student up to date on their grades.
He gave us chances to turn in our homework until the day of the exam because he understood the hectic lives we may have. He also allowed us to contact him any time of the day if we ever had questions. He was also quick to respond or help whenever we needed any.
Kyle shows concern for his students by posting up practice exams on his website for students to work on and see if they are ready for the exams. If not ready then to get the student to be familiarize with what kinds of questions are going to be on the exams. He also shows concern for his students with the homework policy of turning in work multiple times to get a perfect score on that assignment; however, there is a limit to when a student can turn in any work for that chapter. The last day a student can turn in assignments that were assigned for that chapter is on the exam date, which I think is very reasonable.
Professor Ishibashi was always willing to meet with students to clarify any material and was always willing to stay after to answer any questions.
Ishibashi has a knack for going above and beyond what is expected of him. This was evident when I began studying for the SAT and ACT. I lacked the proper education in geometry and Ishibashi took the time to sit down with me and explain what should have taken a year in a matter of two sessions. After taking the SAT and ACT I scored a 2160 (710 in Math) on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT. Because Ishibashi is so good at explaining the course material I was able to take what I learned about atomic statements and apply it to my English classes.
Made sure that he was easily accessible to the students outside of class and made sure we understood the concepts before moving on to a next section.
Yes he did. He would always tell us to let him know if we needed help. In class and even outside of class he was always willing to spend his time helping students.
he gave help to those who needed it outside of the classroom
He would pull them on the side and talk to them.
He make sure that he update his students if we are failing or passing..he also give us a chance passing our homework even though it's already a due date.
For the most part, he would check on the student's as they were doing in class assignments to make sure they were understanding the material he just lectured upon.
He always talks to the student who are failing class and remind them to do their test and turn in their homework.
When students had a hard time understanding the work, he helps them out and does everything to make sure they know what they're doing.
He'll send emails to us updating us when our practice exams are up.
Very available outside of class and helped struggling students with homework and math problems.
He update us with his office hours and stuffs. If our topic is kind of complicated, he reminds us to ask him for help after class.
He is always more than happy to help, very easy to reach, responds quickly to emails. He spends as much time as you need to completely understand the material.
He sometimes email us where he located at and what time he's available if we might have some concern about the topic.
1. Practice exams helped tremendously 2. In-class examples/quizzes also helped 3. HW schedule/re-do's were helpful
He encourages us to do well on the exam and give us review sheets that help us prepare for the chapter exams and provided review days for the final.
I wasn't aware of any concern
If we do bad on our exams he gives us a redo and he average it out.
he was always walking around the classroom to see if we were doing the problems correctly. he helped us if we needed help or had any questions and was always available in or outside of his office hours
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes I would, this is because Mr.Ishibashi is a student and is not just a teacher. So he knows what we are going through and this way he can sympathize with us on the stress load of work and such, which would make him the perfect teacher for any student.
Yes, I would highly recommend Kyle to all students because he is a outstanding math teacher.
Of course! I already recommend him to my friends.
His course of Math 100 is a difficult course but i would definitely recommend him to other students, because he is willing to always help and is very kind. He is organized and knows how explain the material to where you have a better understanding.
most definatly.
Absoulutely. Cause you can learn, comfortably. Because one mistake is not the end of the academic career for you. Cause he will make time for you, in many different ways. And it wont be uncomfortable talking to him.
Yes i would recommend him. He is the kind of teacher that every student wants. I dropped out of his class just because i had my own problems going on and math 100 is hard and redidulous PERIOD!!!!!
Yes because he teaches his material well, i always have a hard time in math and now i am getting B and i learned a lot throughout the semester.
helpful when you go and get help
Yes, because although its a lot of content, you actually learn and retain the information unlike some other classes.
Yes, I would recommend Mr. Ishibashi to other students. Because of his outstanding communication toward students in his class.
Yes, great teacher, understanding!
Yes!,i would definetley recommend this to all students who are taking any sort of math because he knows what the subject really well. Also that the help and time he gives us really show's that he care for his students and wants us to succeed in the math course. He breaks things down and easily for you so that each of us understand the subject.
Yes,one of my favorite teachers! He is so helpful and helped me understand math VERY clearly, and I suck at math! But Im getting an A!
totally recommend!
I would recommend Professor Ishibashi because he is a great teacher. He opened my eyes and got me to love math.
yes because he was very helpful
Yes.
Yes. He is a great teacher. He makes you learn the material rather than just memorize it. You learn how to apply the formula to different problems. His class is really a great one if you want to learn.
He made himself available when necessary for the students.
I would recommend him to students because I know that students who take his class will leave with a better understanding of the subject.
Yes, absolutely, because I found that he is a genuine teacher that adapted to the busy lifestyles of his students. He cared about his students getting the course material right, the right way!
Yes! Very good and cool professor. He makes MAth fun and easy.
Yes I would recommended Kyle to students because he is a very good teacher. He knows how to explain the course subject very well enough for students to understand and not get lost. Like I am usually a C student when it comes to math so thought I wasn't going to do well in his class but he taught the subject well enough for me to understand. Also he is always up for questions that students may have.
Yes, because he affords the opportunity for students to continually increase their grade and he is motivating in his teaching method.
Professor Kyle Ishibashi is the best Math professor I have ever had and within my top-three all-time outstanding educators. Unlike many Math teachers at Kapiâ??olani Community College, he has clean grammar and is a native English speaker, which helps a lot when he lectures. It would be nice to see more Math teachers well-versed in the English language so that they can proficiently teach. Contrary to what I have seen in my past three Math courses, Ishibashi is personable, relatable, willing to share with his students and open to compromises as long as the student is grasping the course material. I enjoyed Math so much this semester that I am moving on to a higher Math course even though I have very well satisfied my Math requirement. Along with that he has inspired this English major to reconsider Electrical Engineering.
I would recommend him because I like his teaching style and he shows that he cares for students.
Yes because I really liked his way of teaching it made it easier for me to learn.
yes because he was help in and out of the class
I would definitely recommend him to other students because he tries to help his students as much as he can.
A big YES..because he is a diligent and very good instructor..he's the best...
I would definitely recommend students to take his Math 100 class as it was appropriate for its level, and suited to students who don't have an affinity for math and may give up when it is too difficult.
I would recommend him to students because he's really good on his topic. He doesn't let the student get lost in solving the problems. He always tries to help the students if they don't understand some components of the lesson. He always makes time to explain something if the class seem confuse.
Yes, because he was actually one of the best teachers I've had this semester. One of the most understandable teachers out there.
Yeah, he is a good teacher if you take the notes down and are present for class. If we were absent or didn't take notes we would be lost the next time you come to class.
Definitely. He's a fantastic teacher who really knows his stuff.
Yes. He looks scary at first (because of his deep voice), but he's really cool and nice.
I would definitely recommend him because being a person who always struggled in math, he made it very easy to understand and enjoyable. I liked everything about his class.
Yes!!! he's a cool guy and he makes the class work easy!
Yes. Kyle is a very good teacher and presents the material in a way that is easy for students to understand. He is very approachable and wants to help students learn the material. He also creates a good environment for students to learn and makes himself available for office hours.
I would recommend him because he knows what he is talking about and he explains the lecture very well. He also connect with his students where they will feel welcome and free to say things that are related to the topic.
I would never use recommend and any course he teaches in the same sentence.
YES! He is good at what he is doing even though I'm getting a "B" in the class. But he is actually nice and helpful teacher.
yes, you will learn and if you study its not hard to get a good grade
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
He is a good teacher for those who are willing to learn but are also willing to work for there grade.
he's GREAT !
You are the man!
Kyle is a very nice person, and he is a good teacher too. I do not like math in my home country, but after take his class, I felt math is very interesting.
He's a great teacher, and if i had to take another math class i would take his class.
That he is the only teacher that I didnt want to drop out of class the first week. It was mainly the math part that made me leave.
Keep it up i guess.
Awesome teacher, really reccomment him to students! Great preperation for class lectures. Easy to talk to when help is needed! GREAT teacher!
You are an awsome teacher, keep up the good work!
He is a great teacher.
Thank you for helping me!
good teacher
He is lenient on turning in homework and exams and he seems really cool.
Great semester!
I am very lucky I was in his class and had the chance to be his student and learned a lot from him.
He is an excellent teacher. He knows the course subject very well.
Nothing.
He's a great guy. He tactfully straddled the friend-professor boundary without crossing either.
I like how he let us redeem ourselves fairly on assignments and checked to see if we were doing homework.
I enjoyed learning from him and if he taught higher math I would take him again.
well, thank you for this semester..i learned a lot from you and hopefully, i can take classes again if i take higher math..thank you..
Nothing.
He gives a lot of homework but if you do poorly on it, he will give you the chance to redo it. He also prepares study guides and gives them 1 week before the test so that the students will have time to review.
none
I wish I had him for my other math classes!
His quizzes are easy. Sometimes we talked about it in class and if you answered it wrong, you could change it before you turn it in. For his homework, you could redo over and over until you get it perfect (for a full credit).
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
He is very good teacher.

18. Other comments:
I hate math 100. Too bad i need it to pass though. I think all the old people in that book just wanted to make a name for themselves before they die. But fool them, ill never remember them anyways!!
Wishes that he teaches all math subjects.
I hope you teach all the other subject.
Keep up the good work!

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
mostly math
He really makes sure his students understand the material, that EACH student understands it. He really pays attention to his students which is great.
He went over problems (either lesson examples or homeworks) with students. He asks the class if there's any questions on the steps of solving problems. Practice exams were very helpful...and he lets students know of their grades quickly. Learning algebra again was easy after taking his class.
Approachability and extra time given to students (myself) who were having trouble grasping some of the concepts.
Kyle is a great teacher, his teaching style made this class easy for me. Very clear and easy to understand.
Professor Ishibashi clearly understands math and has an enviable ability to make it accessible to all.
One of them is his availibility. I was able to text him if I wasn't able to make it to class or email him about homework. He would always respond promptly to my messages and let me know if and when I could turn in homework or coach me through email on how to work out the problems. Another strength of Kyle's is his ability to teach outside of the book in a very systemic approach. The problems we would work out would sometimes be random and he wouldn't know the answer until we all did the steps to find it.
his major strength is to be able to explain and clarify any confusions students have with math, so he explain alot clearly in class.
He has time in the beginning of each class where he goes over homework problems that we don't understand.
Has good teaching methods. Encouraged everyone.
He did his best on trying to find ways to help students understand the material he was teaching.
Communication. Veru strong voice. SO LOUD.
He is very concerned about students that are struggling and is more than willing to help outside of class time. He is also very understanding and knows his subject well.
wants all his students to succeed.
He's patient and understanding. He's also very personable and doesn't make you feel like you're stupid.
Kyle is a wonderful teacher... He made math 25 a fun and intresting subject to learn about!
He is a teacher that encourages students to enjoy doing math while learning, and he breaks it down for us to learn easier.
I do not speak and understand English very well but his teaching skills are very clear and easy to understand.
Kyle's major strength as a professor is he knows his Math very well. His technique of teaching, matches the way I learn Math, therefore this was a good match. He shows concern for his students fairly. He is a great professor.
Great organization skills and time management. He knows his stuff well and teaches it in a very logical way. It was much easier for me to learn from him than my other math teachers.
He's so awesome when teaching math, he gives students so many examples so that students understand the methods that he's teaching and he pays attention to his class, if he notices a student with a "dumbfounded" look he tries to give more examples so that everybody in the class is on the same page. He's down to earth and treats his students with respect, and his students respect him back. He has an excellent rapport with everyone in his class, and he remembers his students names.
Kyle is very helpful and a great instructor, KCC should have more instructors like him!
knew his material. Very good teacher.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
good for ask when he will help us to review these chapters in math, and also teach us how to solve this problems.
He made sure to address any problems it looked like you were having. He went around the whole class to make sure no one was stuck, and if they were he would go up to the board and explain why something is the way it is, and so on..
Kyle was available via email, texting, cell phone.
he was accessible to students via email
He has helped me in completing the course objectives while working around my unusual circumstances. While teaching he consistently will walk around and make sure that you receive individual help.
Kyle would always take the time to ask if anyone had questions. Sometimes the questions I would pose would be more complex than what the class was learning and he was able to take the time to answer and explain it to the rest of the class.
by telling them how they do on their homework, if they fall behind or need to make up to get better grades.
He would stay after class and help people who were having hard time.
Insisted people to come in for help.
Well, for me personally I didn't see it. When other students didn't understand it he would try to explain it more so that they could. After explaining he would wait a while to make sure they got it.
Met with students outside of class for additional tutoring
always gives help when needed, gave out mobile #
He's understanding when it comes to grading; he allows you to work through your mistakes.
He sets up studys groups for the people who need help.
Yes, he helps us step by step to learn the material.
When we have homework questions, he always explains before we start the new subject.
When I got frustrated by not being able to solve a difficult math problem, he would take the time to show me step by step, on how to solve the math problem.
He meets with them on his own time to help them study. He emails reminders and grades promptly.
When students presented concerns about the homework he would let us know that he'll stay after class to address the concerns instead of holding back the rest of the class. He always communicated to us changes in his office hours and stressed that if anyone wanted to see him about homework, just come by.
offering help after hours on own time.
Gave out of class opportunities for extra study.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
none comments.
yes I definitely would because if he could make me pass a math class then he can help ANYONE pass.
Yes...after being out of school for over 5 years, learning algebra again became easy.
Yes. Kyle is an instructor that has an engaging personality that makes the students comfortable.
yes. He was easy to understand and made this math class less intimidating.
Yes. As Carl Sagan was able to explain complex universal theories to the everyman, Kyle Ishibashi is able to do the same with mathematics. I have consistently come home from class thinking he is an exemplary teacher.
I would definitely recommend Kyle to students because I've taken a math course from several other teachers and have not been able to pass them because of the fact if you didn't "see" how to do it, there wasn't much explanation on "how". Kyle is the opposite, where the steps he takes you through to solve the problem is always the same regardless of how different the example problem might be. He gives you knowledge on anything that may "trick" you.
yes i would recommend him to the students, he's a good instructor, has flexibilities if you need any help with that teacher, he would help :)
Yes. He is very clear about what he expects of the students and is always willing to answer their questions...even if there are numerous questions regarding the same thing. Patient and easy going. Everyone is equal in the class.
Yes, Because he is a great teacher that loves doing what his doing.
I already did. He has a good teaching method. Better than any other math teacher i've had in the past 2 years...
Yes, he knows his subject and makes understanding math 25 easier. If you look puzzled, he will help you until you full understand. He is easy to talk to and more than willing to help you pass with extra tutoring if you ask.
YES, the bomb
Yes, definitely. He is the best math teacher I have ever had... He's very relaxed--which allows you to feel more comfortable.
Yes... Easy to learn from him!
Yes, because he is a good teacher, and you actually learn alot from his class.
Yes, I would like to recommend him to students. In his class, I was able to learn and review each chapter.
I would highly recommend Kyle Ishibashi to students because he is a excellent professor and he knows Math very well.
Yes. He is one of the best math teachers I have ever had.
Absolutely, for students who are going into the higher math courses and need a step by step breakdown of math, he's the one to take. He doesn't just give the answers he helps to make you understand why a math problem has to be written a certain way, and if you make a mistake he gives you a hint to help you to correct the mistake without giving you the answer.
yes, very easy going, easy to understand, and very, very helpful!
Strongly recommend.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Thanks for teaching us clear how to solve problems and sometimes i have headache when I lost it for too much information. Explain while wrote the math equation that's really clearly good.
Hes a great teacher. Definitely an asset to KCC.
Very chill professor and he made algebra easy to understand.
na
I would like to thank him for promptly replying to messages and helping me to catch up on the course material.
He's very patient with his classes and serious about it at the same time. If you don't keep up with the homework and quizzes, you will fail. If you listen and pay attention to what he has to say, you will learn. I thought I knew a fair amount about the material before going into the class. Now that I've completed the course with Kyle's help I know several methods of problem-solving.
Great teacher :)
Ever watch Legend of the seeker? You look like Darken Rahl. It makes me laugh every time I walk in to class. xD It's okay you're a good teacher. Funny. You should stop drinking soad though. Energy drinks too, stick to water man.
Keep him at KCC, he's a great asset!

Kyle you are the man! -Kainoa Gasper
Coooool guy !
I like the practice exams because it made me to understand deeply.
I learned alot by being in his class. He is always encougaging me to move forward.
I am so glad that i was lucky to get a professor like him, helping me through this back to school journey, and it made such a difference to be able to learn math again after all these years and have it click when the solution presents itself because your professor explained it in away that you understand what the book is trying to talk about.
Thank you Kyle! You made math enjoyable! Coming from a non-math person!

16. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He really had a way with his students. He knows how to connect with them really well, and he knew what he was doing.
He's an excellent math teacher. he taught everything clearly with good examples and took his time in order for us to understand the work.
Mentally calculate equations quickly and shows an alternate route.
explain complicated problems very well!!!!!!!! =)
The instructers major strengths as the teacher was that he knew what he was doing and he portrayed his teachings in a way that we could all understand.
He makes explains math so its easier to understand.
He is very thorough in lectures.
He is always on time and ready to teach, he grades quizzes, homework, and tests on time.
His learning techniques are easy to understand.
Friendly and very approachable. Very easy going and patient with students.
knows subject really well and delivers material very well. He pays attention to his students and knows when someone does not understand something and addresses it right away.
his teaching style, and he really wants to see you pass.
he is a very fun teacher. he didn't make class boring. he knew his subject very well.
Explains the material throughly, and if more help is needed he offers additional help outside of the class.
1. Listened well and stopped class if their was an question. 2. Could think outside the box. 3. Pleasant ans approachable. 4. knew the subject very well and explained things. He knew the subject deeply not just on the surface so was able to help students when they were lost. 5. Fair, treated students equal. 6. Great personal and communication skills.

Maybe to scold us more if we don't attend class. haha.
nothing
nothing everything was good!..
None
Class is boring. Don't really like having a quiz everyday. There's a lot of homework.
Just sorta slow down on the lectures, too fast. Sometimes I don't get the material right or just have a S.I. Supplement Instructor to help out the students in trouble. Also recommend tutor guides, MyMathLab, or other math software guides for math class, that would be helpful. I have seen students around me sorta struggling, sighing, or moaning about some math problems in the middle of the semester. But I don't blame you on the bad and broken down a/c that makes the room hot.
Nothing.
None. One of the best teachers I have had of all time.
Nothing...
none.
Make more comparisons to real life situtations to help students rememeber subject matter. Slow down in some areas of difficulty. Then again, he ways always there after class to help so that point my be moot.
More office hours.
nothing great job
19. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He always answered the students questions correctly. He taught us very well. He helped us do examples on the bored so we would understand the problem more and get use to the idea. He helped the students very well.
He would help us with what ever problems we had in the work and stay back after class when asked. but normally he does anyway.
Helping us if we got stuck on a problem and everything
He showed concern for thhe students by asking them where they have been and if they need help in the subjects he would assist them as soon as class was over. Or even when we are in class he walks around the room and check if everyone was doing the work properly or if they had problems.
We talked and he told me that i could still pass. He also let me re-take a test that I missed.
He is always open to questions throughout class time, and help after class.
By responding to questions from student's concerns about a problem. Helps out confused students. Gives chances for students to correct their mistakes and work.
Many times is right in the classroom and other times is via email.
Always trying to make sure we understood the coursework when we would show confusion.
by looking around the room and making sure if there are questions that it is addressed immediately.
Made sure we got what he was teaching, and showed his reasons.
when you don't show up for class for about 1 week, he would ask where have you been the past week? he knows everyones names and he knows if you miss class.
If you didn't understand the material, he offered help outside of class.
During each exam he would walk around a help students understand. So far he's the best instructor I've had.
Talked about what I need to do to imporve my grades.
let us know if we were missing anything and stayed after class for one on one explanation
20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I would certainly recommend this instructor to students because the instructor has a very good teaching method. Even if you don't like math 25, i'm sure you'd be able to pass his class. He would help you out a lot.
yes, because he makes it more easy to understand and get the math.
he uses simple explanation, and he alos explains terms which are used during class beggining of the class. english is my second launguage for me but i was able to understand his class.I really appreciate. he also spend his time after class answering my questions.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!...one of the best Math teacher ever!..and every Nice too!!!!!!!!!

Kyle, I learned a lot from you. But do you teach classes in the early afternoons also? But I hope you have a safe and Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Also enjoy your holiday dinners and beverages! - From a student that charges his laptop battery almost every class.
No.
One of the best!! Hope you have him back for many more students to enjoy his teaching style!
glad to have been in his class.
He's a great instructor.....
Class is fun and entertaining. Always looked forward to coming to class even after a long hard days work.
It was a pleasure being his student
