the variety of the planning models presented was the most valuable aspect of the course. Both theory and application of models were discussed. The examples of application of models was very helpful and explained well. I found out all aspects of the course are very valuable for planners the assignments were very helpful for practicing the methods learned in class. all the practical application components were much appreciated. Quantitative methods, spreadsheet skills The homework assignments were excellent! They reinforced the subject matter and interesting to complete. The assignments (although numerous) forced me to understand the topics and apply them to very relevant real world problems.

This course should be a distribution course because a planner cannot lack the knowledge of these contents -- snipped -- I really enjoyed this course & can see how it will be used in real world problems. - that this course specifically focused on Transportation-issues and greatly suited my interests - the course clarified on how important the transportation and land-use connections is and planning projects need evaluate both in combination The assignments forced me to think outside of the box. Well done. all. The teacher has very detailed knowledge and often invites guests and speakers relevant to the topic who also provide interesting information.

Instead of giving out so many handouts one at a time, how about stapling them together and handing them out at the beginning of class? That or since lectures were so well organized, how about just making them into a supplementary course packet? Non technical aspect of transportation. Analysis of different aspects of transportation from the perspective of social science. I enjoyed certain topics in the class (such as TOD and different transportation modes). The first and second assignments were relevant to what we learned in class. Two assignments and guest presentations We must take into consideration land uses when trying to find solutions to transportation problems relating to traffic congestion, air pollution, and access to neccessary activities, goods, and services. The old way is just not adequate enough to provide lasting solutions. Instead, only temporary fixes to the problems are provided to those affected by them.

More international examples. More theories and concepts of transportation planning. -- snipped -- -- snipped -- I enjoyed the lectures that included PowerPoint presentations or other types of multimedia, such as the lecture that included YouTube videos of different transportation modes. I enjoyed having guest speakers as well. The only improvement that I would like to see is limiting the off-track questions and comments from certain students. The conversation seemed to be dominated by a couple of students in the class, which ended up taking time away from lectures. Peter is very soft spoken and when students want to speak he generally lets them. In this specific class this generosity became a huge problem because two specific students monopolized class time and often descended into non- sequiters to the evident annoyance of everyone else in the room including Peter. Peter needs to me more assertive when it comes to insisting that student comments be relatively brief and on topic. One aspect of this course that was disappointing was the constant disruptions and time-wasted by certain students in the class. Often times the interjections were irrelevant or unnecessary to the subject at hand, and other times the interruptions disrupted the flow of the class and wasted time allotted for actual instruction. It was unfortunate that the instructor did not seem to mind these disruptions or make a strong effort to control it. I'm not sure if it was because of the constant disruptions, but the presentations often times seemed scattered and difficult to follow and concepts weren't clearly and/or completely presented.
