At first, I took this class because it was a writing intensive course. But as soon as I realized it was a course about the Environment, I thought it would be interesting - and it WAS!

Best course in POLS ive taken & amazing, amazing teacher. Professor Halbert is clearly knowledgeable and experienced in her work and takes all that she does seriously as she is always prepared for class and grades things immediately and gives space for revision, discussion, etc.

This class does not fulfill any of my requirements to graduate. I took this class because I think political science is a challenging. I wanted to challenge myself because I do not feel that there are not many challenging courses at UH.

I like history
I took this course to fulfill the 375/376/385 POLS major requirement. I had never taken a class that focused exclusively on the Constitution, so I took the class to learn something totally new.

Very intelligent. Encouraged students to meet with her to discuss each exam, course material, etc.
This was one of the best classes I have ever taken at UH Manoa. The professor was helpful and went over material in a way that was easier to understand. I appreciated each lecture class and each assignment was beneficial to my understanding of the material as well.

It took me a while to understand the concepts and applications in this class. Although a struggle in the beginning I felt challenged and accomplished that I have learned and excelled so much in this course. I think this course should be a course that every POLS student should take.
The extra credit options for class.
Professor Halbert responds quickly, and allows gives opportunity to improve your grade if you bomb a test or do bad on an assignment.
Very knowledgeable. Able to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time.
Very thorough and very intelligible regarding constitutional law. Lot's of content and lots to learn.
very enthusiastic about material and available for consultation, reading outlines online help greatly with workload
She is a cool professor who teaches like how a professor in the 21st century should teach.
Debora required alot of work in comparison to my other teachers and i am not complaining about this.... she was a fanatastic teacher..and I learned a lot in her class... and felt she was also one of my better teachers at U.H because of the expectation she had for the class requirements.... also Brenden was great too...
She really likes teaching and the class is pretty interesting.

Dr. Halbert is an exceptional instructor. She demonstrated a superb knowledge of the subject and was able to articulated difficult concepts in ways that allowed for easy understanding. Dr. Halbert also made her self available whenever she was in her office and attend multiple events on campus that helped support student involvement. She encouraged intellectual growth in class and through class projects. One of the few professors I had that seemed to truly enjoy teaching.

I would appreciate the availability of the notes she types in class during discussion

I am not sure how comfortable with TA grading of homework/tests.
Sometimes she can be confusing about what she wants from assignments, but its mostly due to the difficulty of the class content.

Brenden Burk was amazing and had great insight on the topics we discussed in class.
Brenden was very helpful when I need some answers about the questions i have and helping with cases that I don't understand. Most of all, helping students with questions about the Constitution. So much thanks and mahalo to Brenden.
Very, Very, knowledgeable but, came off as condescending and unapproachable.
Very knowledgeable about the course, good communication skills.
At times, he was an unfair grader.

I felt like he was trying to take over the class too much. I think he tried being too much like the teacher instead of a TA
Brendan, did an excellent job as TA. He knew his material and was willing to help students understand difficult material. He also made himself available to students outside of class for office hours, and was willing to engage in dialog after class. He would be an excellent TA in the future and if he wishes to pursue it demonstrated quality teaching skills.

very challenging but informative course
I feel that Dr. Halbert is a hard grader compared to most of the courses I have taken. I also feel this is a good thing, however, as it really challenges the student to fully apply themself.
Professor Halbert's classes are challenging, but you really do learn from her. Her classes have taught me the most useful knowledge for the future. If your not lazy, then getting a good grade is possible in Professor Halbert's difficult, but enjoyable classes.

I really love this course. I learned a lot of useful information. I am glad that I am taking a class from instructors that know how to teach. This is rare. This is my 5th semester at UH and I honestly feel like it is my second favorite class! Nothing beats American Studies but this class is awesome!
Felt Deborah was a great teacher.. could use more hawaiian cultural specifics in class.. especially how U.S constitutional is affected by presidential agreements like the liliuokalani/ grover cleveland assignment.. and could this be upheld as a treaty based on the constitution and what type of legal bearing does a presidential agreement have on State Law in Hawaiiin regards to federalism and the supremecy clause.. ?
More in class work not just lectures

I think the presentations should be changed in some way. There should either be fewer requirements or a longer time to present. I think also the requirements should be explained better. I remember my groupmates and I spent some time guessing, rather than knowing, what Professor wanted. I was also sometimes confused about brief formatting. I remember that when Professor went over how to brief, she used exactly what the appendix in the book said. So for the first two briefs, I used that format. Based on what Professor had said, I was under the impression that we had flexibility in briefing. But then Brenden informed me that I had to follow his format. I don't remember Professor ever saying that that was the case, though. I preferred my own format. However, if it had been make clear that we had to follow a certain format that wasn't the one used in the textbook, we should have been taught how to brief in that format, so that we all would have been on the same page. That should have been made clearer in the beginning so that there would have been no conflict.
The classroom layout was horrible. Anybody sitting behind the halfway mark couldn't see the projection screen or the speaker.
I would recommend that this course be a requirement for all UH students. The importance of understanding Constitutional Principles is as important and more so then some of the other mandatory requirements the school has. For example science course on top of a breadth, hawaiian studies, llea requirements, and others. The importance of understanding the principles of governance is universally important to every field and the lack of encouraging constitutional understanding is a disservice to the students and the communities they are a part of. We should be encouraging a better understanding of our governing principles.

Her willingness to change the course if it was not working well.
This might have been a challenge for her to merge classical way of teaching and high-tech based collaborative teaching into one. To my thought, she made it successfully. Every students were actively involved and given lots of individual briefings and group discussion time.
She was always available to talk to.
I personally liked the combination of graduate and undergraduate students interaction. In addition, the self-directed briefs were very valuable.

The most valuable part was how knowledgeable professor halbert was regarding constitutional law.
She knows her materials!!
Even though the course load was a little intense, it prepared me for this class and really helped me understand concepts.
I enjoyed her enthusiasm for the subject, it helped keep the class interesting even when cases were somewhat dull. Also, I really liked the online lecture she held at one point. It was great being able to hear a lecture alongside a powerpoint without constant interruption from classmates (although their comments are somewhat educational at times).
Doctor Halbert's in-depth knowledge on the subject matter made it easier for me to understand topics overall
She is willing to make sure that everyone grasps the concepts.
The most valuable and helpful elements of Dr. Halbert as a professor is her availability both in and out of the classroom. In class discussions she makes sure that there is a thorough understanding of a concept before moving onto the next subject.
The whole course was a great success to my expectations. I came into this class to learn the subject matter, and that's that the professor did. She explained the material in an interesting way, with some humor on the side, which made the course more interesting and memorable. Although times of meeting with her, in regard to clear confusions on the lectures, was limited, she did her best in meeting with the students, and meeting with her successfully cleared things I was confused about.
She really knows the material and she is extremely helpful those who have a hard time with the material. She response quickly to emails and it seems as if she really does want her students to succeed in the course.
Prof Halbert is so passionate and knowledgeable in this particular topic so it definitely rubbed off and me as a student.
She very organized, punctual, knowledgeable about the subject, and very good at delivering the material. I feel she is also very clear and concise with her explanations of the material, concepts, and answers to questions we have.
Professor Halbert gave many opportunities to meet with her outside of class for help and assistance. She also gives good feedback on your assignments and tests to help you improve on the next ones.
A wonderful teacher. I would absolutely recommend her for anyone who wants a useful and demanding class.

She is very smart and passionate about her teachings which makes it interesting for me and easy for me to pay attention. She also helped me broaden my critical thinking skills by asking questions when needed.

That she did not accept any late work. That is more a policy than her, but she was a very valuable instructor. I enjoyed her class.
Less lecturing and more hands on kind of class...
The you be the judge was an assignment that did not really help me. Half the time I could barely hear the student. So when I did do the assignment I based it off my own judgment.

She is a bit intimidating.
Nothing. She delivered this course perfectly. I feel the only thing she might need is an intern, assistant, to help her with her workload with grading and tedious tasks so she has more time to students. But overall, she does an amazing job with addressing everyone's needs.
Nothing really. She can be a little intimidating though, but once you talk to her and she realizes your trying to understand the content, then she is more than willing to help.
Submitting everything in online is wonderful for the paper saving aspects, but can be difficult to remember.
Application of Socratic Method was inconsistent, so students (including myself) got lazy about doing the reading and did not contribute much in the few group discussions.

I appreciate that questions/discussion from the class was encouraged, however sometimes students made broad or confusing statements so I would ask that Professor Halbert either reiterate what they say or correct it to help avoid confusion. Otherwise I enjoyed the class regardless of its reading heavy curriculum.
Dr. Halbert is a very enthusiastic, challenging, and intellectual instructor. I really enjoyed taking this class as Dr. Halbert was able to create a classroom environment that was intellectually engaging, as well as accommodating.
I'm very honored in taking this professor and this course. I met all of my expectations and my knowledge of the subject is all the more better than before. The professor herself was a joy to learn such a difficult subject from, and it's a trait that she should always keep.

Very relevant course. In general, was not very excited about taking the course but Dr. Halbert made it interesting and fun to say the least. Definitely one of the best professors I've had at UH Manoa, I feel she does the best at balancing all aspects of the course, makes sure that people interact, and is fair. Plus, she is really funny which makes the class easier to sit through. Hopefully I can take another class with her.

I love the policy making process. Although the beginning of the course was depressing because it was talking about the loopholes within the system, I found it valuable.

She was able to generate class-based discussions that provided both sides to the key issues and problems without any biased opinion which allowed us to come up with our own opinions on the topic. It was very helpful because she helped guide us through the material and the readings and was able to answer any questions that we might have had with an intelligent and well thought out response.

I enjoyed the class a lot. However, it would be nice if she got the class to be more involved. Maybe perhaps little group discussions.
Professor Halbert is really fun and has the ability to get students excited about what we are learning. i really appreciated the open conversations we were able to have in the classroom. i think if she integrated more creative thinking and activities that would keep the students engaged, we would get a lot more out of just reading texts and reviewing policies in class... maybe activities such as policy / environmental program design would be fruitful not only for classroom learning, but in seriously considering alternative and plausible political solutions for the future of Earth and the environment. the projects, activities and outings that Professor Halbert provided for us over the course of this semester were stimulating and actually enjoyable, so i think the course could be greatly enhanced if there were more of this kind of learning taking place as Professor Halbert would be a great facilitator.

It was interesting to read some of the cases and try to understand how the supreme court came to the decision that it did.
I enjoyed doing the case brief because it helped my understand the material better
I thought that the course being organized by the topics of discussion in the book was helpful to understand the concepts better. The case briefs also helped me to understand the provisions of the constitution and how the supreme court justifies their decisions. Overall the communication in class was good and relevant and the media was interesting especially the oral arguments.
The case briefs were really helpful, also the lecture which was posted online. That way, when I missed class, it was easy to catch up.
Learning to brief cases and learning legal terminology and application.
Before I signed up for this course, I knew nothing about Con Law. Now I feel I have a strong basis in understanding on how the Supreme Court works. I really appreciate all of Dr. Halbert's teachings. They way she makes us think on our own perspective, and have that relate to the cases at hand. I enjoyed this class immensely and learned so much.
I liked how organized the content of this class was, flowed nicely. Professor Halbert really knows the subject matter that was taught.

Everything we did helped my understanding of the material: the readings (in the text and outside readings in the beginning of the course), the class discussions, the in-class videos, the scenarios, preparing case briefs, and the tests. I feel like everything I've done for this course was valuable and had a clear purpose. While there were many aspects to this course, the most valuable thing about this course is Professor Halbert herself. Her fairness, efficiency, availability, teaching style, demeanor, amazing attitude, and enthusiasm towards her job makes it hard not to love her. Having already graduated and having experienced a multitude of teachers, I can honestly say that Professor Halbert is among the best (if not THE best) teachers and human beings I've had the pleasure of knowing during my time here at UH.

Having all of our assignments online. Knowing that our notes that were gone over durring class will be online by the end of that day was a great feature of this class. going over or tests as a class was also something that ws very helpful with the class.

The book was really long and some parts were a little boring. It was hard to follow along in some parts as well.
Reading 50 pages at a time for every assignment. Over the weekend it wasn't bad, but during the week it was a bit much to cram in, and then there came a point where the brain was exhausted and nothing registered anymore. Maybe break it up into smaller assignments.
All aspects of this course have been extremely valuable!
I felt that this course was designed around post-modern perspective and looking at situations from our own beliefs. I loved this aspect, however, in the exams, there were fill in the blank and true or false questions. I felt that these questions left no room for interpretation of the question and didn't follow the underlying principle of the class.

Since I plan on continuing on to law school, this course was really helpful in giving me a good background of the constitution and important cases I'll need to know. I will definitely be keeping this book!
BEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN AT UH-MANOA! I was so scared to take this class because "Constitutional Law" seems very daunting but Prof. Halbert is AMAZING and is the best professor I have ever had at UH-Manoa.
Dr. Halbert is an excellent professor. I understand that the university system takes more consideration into those who bring in research monies more than those who are outstanding instructors. Whether or not Dr. Halbert is a research money guru, her instruction and passion are clearly felt in the classroom and challenge students to think about the law in their own perspectives. The text that was chosen for this course was a valuable tool in understanding the content of this course. All supplemental materials were invaluable.
The weekly briefs helped me not only practice writing in a clear and concise way, but they also helped me read more thoroughly. The tests were challanging too, especially the parts where application of the case law and course readings were required. I felt the class discussions were also helpful in helping explain those concepts that were harder to grasp on my own.
I love the way that she talks about the subject matter. She also breaks down the words and cases to make them comprehensible to "everyday folk" like myself. She makes class really interesting and alive; she does a great job at keeping me awake @ 7:30 in the morning. I also like the take home essay: I'm not a strong writer, but it helps me develop clear and concise arguments and structures. -Grace Houghton

The Commerce Clause.
The briefs, the exams, everything. This class is a perfect introduction to Constitutional law and I definitely know far more than I did when I started.

Professor Halbert is the only professor I have ever known who smiles every single day of class. She has no bad days. I highlight that as a wonderful quality. Her energy is contagious. Especially with class beginning at the crack of dawn, her energy is welcomed and appreciated. Professor Halbert is an excellent professor in this subject matter. I very much enjoyed her wonderful personality and knowledge of her field. She makes everyone feel like they should be political scientists or lawyers.
I found Professor Halbert's indepth lectures to be very valuable in helping me to understand the materials assigned.

Case brief assignments, class discussions
I learned how constitutional law is applied in real life cases. Before this class I though constitutional law, and law in general was a word for word interpretation of what was written out. I learned how badly I was mistaken and realized the complex and abstract definitions that law and interpretation has on applying it.
Dr. Halbert really knows her subject-matter and is a great debater, which makes for a good introduction to what students should expect in law school. I enjoy her classroom discussions as well as the challenging exams and assignments given by her.
Being able to understand our constitution more. Professor Halbert also has a positive demeanor and upbeat attitude that actually makes a 730am class enjoyable. The course functions very well, and all of the reading outside of class is covered in our lectures that help to make the concepts clear. I also like the level of critical thinking that I have to use for the class, very stimulating.

Way to much reading of past court cases it was way to hard to remember them all and the important concepts and standards that came out of them.

The in-class practice exercises did not help, instead they created the need for more study time at home (to cover the material not covered by the class as a whole as in a normal day). I also offer what I think is an extremely important point: the second exam should be before mid-term break. There needs to be some sort of psychological break or separation before starting substantive due process. So, coming back from break with entirely new matter to study (substantive due process) would be better than the before-break, after-break situation currently in use. Its the separation between old material and new material that is needed, via the spring break time.

Because of my difficult schedule I feel that I was not able to enjoy all the benefits this class offered. I often had to take annual leave just to be in class. I enjoyed the course, discussion, and content, nonetheless!
Maybe make the class later than 7:30am to avoid people from skipping all the time
Professor Halbert is, in a word, great. She is great at teaching Constitutional Law I. I very much enjoyed her teaching, and each class day was a new and welcomed adventure. I would, most definitely, take any other courses she teaches.

Great course, lots of work. I had trouble keeping up with the court cases, but I was aware of most due dates and expectations.
I think all students, regardless of major should be required to take this course. I think everyone should know about their country and especially about the law. This course helped me look at law in a different perspective. It is not just wrong or right. If anything, the one thing that I learned in this course is that, it depends on the way is it interpreted and how you want to see the law. Law itself is not a black and white issue. It is grey. How wrong I was to think that law is A or B! Not only has this sparked more interest in me of law but it allowed me to get a head start ono how I should start thinking when I reach Richardson.

The course reading was very informative and gave me a greating understanding of case law and how the supreme court operates.
She is very knowledgeable about the topic and she does not teach just to teach. She is in it because she cares about the subject matter and definitely has background to back it up. She is passionate about what she teaches and enjoys it therefore as a student it is the same on the other end. She knows her stuff! And is understanding of her students not only that but she is very welcoming and makes you want to ask questions because she is so open to helping in any way possible!

The briefs, i enjoyed writing the briefs for the class and it gave me a deeper understanding of the constitution. I also believe the briefs really helped in deepening a understanding on how the our government works.

The fact that the instructor made a very complicated subject matter seem easy to understand. With both her teaching as well as the book she selected I learned significantly more then I had in all most all of the other classes that I've had here at Manoa. More specifically, case law and how to interpret and apply the Constitution into our more modern times were the things that I found most useful.

reading reviews forced me to read the chapter and were ultimately very helpful when it came to preparing for the tests. additionally, writing briefs allowed me to get acquainted with the court and overall concepts.

Great teaching style was excellent information to share with the class. The course left a lot of time for open discussion and debate and Prof. Halbert administred this properly and effectively. The spacing of the assignments were nice and spread out and the knowledge learned is ingrained and won;t be forgotten. One of the best classes I have taken to date.

Learning how to do briefs from case law is really valuable to me. Also just being able to understand how the Supreme Court works is very valuable as well. In addition, learning the constitution and how it is used to make or break laws is also very valuable.

It was so refreshing to have a professor who truly enjoyed teaching and the subject by which she was teaching. This was my mist difficult class with the largest work load, but thanks to her teaching style and flexibility, it was also my favorite class and the one I learned the most in. I would be thrilled to take another course from Professor Halbert.
not only did i learn concepts and history about constitutional law, the supreme court, their cases etc. I also learned basic history and basic concepts like affirmative action, which were things i didn't even know. I was homeschooled growing up and i didn't retain anything from my history book. I love knowing the fact that I know these extremely important cases now and can quote them like a bad-ass! ^.^

I would say the intelectuall biography would be something that is much better off being assigned in the earlier portion of the semester. That assignment would better fit with the first few weeks of the class.
Although I enjoyed learning about one of the justices, I felt like time spent on the intellectual biography would have been better spent on other material.

the time limits of the briefs gave me so much stress. >.< also, maybe if we had one deadline before the intellectual bibliography, like an outline or bibliography before the big deadline. i would definitely suggest to not have marbury v. madison for the first brief, it was SOOOOOOOO overwhelming and confusing. i know it's super influential and establishes judicial review, which is the beginning of the units, but it was hard. -.-

great teacher, always has great energy. knows her subject well enough to teach this class, but didn't feel like she stimulated alot of people in the class. she stimulated me because i didn't know anything at all about the subject coming into the class.
I felt the biography was somewhat unnecessary (maybe better replaced with a short paper on a contemporary case before the SC?). Otherwise, I disagree with complaints from the class throughout the semester-- the coursework was not overloaded. I enjoyed this class immensely and would absolutely take it again given the chance.
Professor needs to give some slack when grading tests and briefs. I feel that she was too harsh and always wanted something more. I feel that I put all the requirements into my work, take her critiques and the next day she wants more. It is impossible to get an A in your class.
Overwhelmed by the assignments and papers that it is not a Writing Intensive course.
DR. HALBERT IS A BAD-ASS!!!!!!!!! one of my favorite professors ever! took something that i love (even though it can be boring/monotonous) and make it a class that i loved going to and participating in! it was intimidating at times because some of the students seem like they know a lot, or maybe they're just really verbal. but anyway, i've never had so much fun in one class and learned A LOT! The breakdown of the policy-making process - for example, the actors involved (not just private but public members), the varying approaches to studying public policy and the usage/implementation of models. Also, the application of the concepts/themes through case studies helped to aid in a deeper understanding of such.
The readings at the beginning of the course we great. Obviously the order was impacted by those students taking comps. In the future, I think having a more logical progression would help move and synthesize the conversation. The student led disucssions were good, but I think there has to be a better way of connecting past readings to more topical lit. For example, you could have the student selecting the readings for that week reference at least two articles assigned previously in the semester to help frame the discussion.

The syllabus project was great because it would help me that how to make a syllabus for future teaching class. Deborah Halbert is very passionate and enthusiastic!! Passion and enthusiasm in a good way but sometimes it makes my stomach churn as she is a little bit too geeky and preppy for my tastes. Halbert is makes good use of technology and seems to be very demanding and challenging of students which is refreshing compared to some other instructors at this fine institution. Halbert can be very funny and charming in her own quirky way and holds a relatively captive audience in the classroom setting.
professor knows what she is talking about, and that makes me confident that i am learning something. she is not a boring teacher. she enjoys feedback. the class is a good one b/c of her.

Professor Halbert pushed me beyond my comfortable, passive student zone. She asked provoking questions, encouraged debate and broke down the complicated issues that frame constitutional law. Even though reading 50 pages per class and learning a whole new citation format was difficult, I learned much from this course and was able to see how economic and philosophical principles have shaped the American constitution.
Learning how to brief cases and getting feedback on how to improve. The projects about learning how the state and federal court system works was very useful. The study guide was very helpful!
The textbook was really helpful.
The readings and then going over them in class were very helpful in my understanding of the material.
The knowledge I gained about the Constitution. The most important thing I gained from this course was that what seems black and white is actually gray, that nothing is absolute. This course reinforced that view.
The case studies, chapter outlines, and class discussions made it easier for me to understand the material.
the case reviews... hard, and time consuming, but i can still cite cases from the beginning of the class...
Learning about all the different cases, and using examples of today's cases or problems and reconnecting it to past cases.
The class discussions were conducted well and made the readings easier to understand.
10. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
A little bit too much work as far as assignments go. Reading in this class can be demanding as Constitutional Law can be an expansive subject that requires significant background knowledge to fully understand and appreciate. I felt like I was drowning in this class as the weight of information and concepts can be overwhelming. 7:30 in the morning is a bad time to be teaching or learning about Constitutional law... I give the instructor credit as teaching Constitutional law is probably one of the more difficult courses to be teaching in the Social Science arena.

The greatest weakness of this class was the fact that sometimes class discussions went off topic and into silly pedantic arguments. This is not so much the professors' fault, as it is for students not reading the required material, but these diversions made it hard to focus on the topic at hand.
Having to wake up to be at class at 7:30am! There should have been alternative option on final paper because there are some of us students who will never need to know Harvard Blue Book style of citation and I think option for those of us in Social Science majors should have been allowed to write articles in alternatives style, MLA, APA, ect.
The first two projects in the beginning of the semester didn't seem to add much to the course overall.

11. Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by ...
Showing me how depressing a career in Law can be. I understand more fully why Lawyers work long hours, have no social life and why they may drink a lot. I spent hours reading and found that I did not have enough time to fully appreciate or write about the finer points of Constitutional law and Politics as the reading itself can be very demanding. I have found a new level of respect and understanding about the passion and intellect that appellate court justices must have in dispensing of opinions.

She is tough and fair. An A is earned rather than given out. Plus she's going to the North Pole for the hell of it.
Learning the process of getting policies passed and enforced.
The documentaries/videos.
The topics among the class were very challenging and thought provoking. Difficult at times but in the end you came out with real knowledge of the material.
The readings about IP + the video of Girl Talk.
The readings in the first half of the semester provided valuable political background. They were challenging and rewarding. The lessons I learned from the reading have provided strong foundations for my understanding of policy. The readings in the second half of the semester challenged me to apply what I learned in the first half to contemporary issues. The books she chose were relevant to today's issues. The perspective they provided was more comprehensive than main stream watered down news. Deborah didn't give us the answers. We had to work hard to grasp the concepts she was talking about. I liked the library skills that were taught at the begging of the semester. They came in handy at the end of the semester. It helped me adapt to the transitioning landscape of technological learning. I will use the skills as long as they are relevant.
professor never missed a day of class. she knows what she is talking about, and does not teach boring. i like that she is very relaxed and can laugh... she is not uptight, which makes it enjoyable to attend class. the class atmosphere was very comfortable. she encouraged us to talk before class started and get to know each other. i would definitely recommend her to my friends. the "cheat sheet" for the exams were the best!!
The readings (both handouts and textbooks) selected for the class, I think, were very valuable. The discussions about specific legislation were helpful as well.
Learning about policy issues and the policy process.
The discussions in this class were the best. She gaves us a a chance to speak our mind and back up our statements. Our class actually became closer because of that.

I would have appreciated more training in debate style. I wasn't sure what an effective debate was. I wanted to practice my debate style with the professor. I don't think the professor prepared the students enough for a debate.
