17. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?

Nope, it's perfect the way it is.

N/A. I love this professor. He is one of the best professors I have ever had.

the instructir spoke like many of he people in the class alreay had some background in the subject matter.

I do not have any suggestions. I enjoyed the instructor and thought he taught the course very effectively

Have a TA or someone put the information in a powerpoint or some kind of electronic format instead of having to scan hand-written overhead sheets.

A study guide for this class might help in the long run, considering I personally was struggling to memorize everything despite the couple of tidbits that he said was gonna be on the exam.

The course was enjoyable yet still very informative. Sometimes taking notes on some of the more complex and uncommon terms was a bit challenging and hard to see from far away, but this did not prove to be a great issue as one could look over the online notes at a later time in order to get the proper spelling.

Maybe use powerpoint slides. :P

Make sure that all the text in the notes can be seen on the overhead but other than that, this course is great!

I think Chris is one of the best lecturing professors I've had. He adds spice to his lectures and uses humor to keep our attention.

22. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?

Professor Womersley integrated real life applications to the lessons, explaining things like malaria and introducing fun tidbits like lugworms. The class was interesting and almost impossible to fall asleep in.

The instructor is amazing. He made class lectures enjoyable and he's very likable. The only reason I went to class is because the instructor is so cool. I wish more instructors could have his enthusiasm, knowledge, and sense of humor. This instructor made class fun.

The lecture was interesting (kept me awake!) and he related the material to our lives to make it easier to remember. I also feel like I'll be able to use what I've learned in this class in the future.

The teacher.

I enjoyed his teaching method. I learned a lot from the lectures. I learned the important points from the exams. I learned the general concepts, enough for a business major, I think.

I thought the course was fascinating, and while it covered a great deal of material the instructor was sure to clearly define between the important points and the interesting, more obscure information.

The fact that lectures weren't boring like most huge lectures are.

How chris makes zoology relevant to us. It's interesting and I haven't learned this much about a subject in a long time.

He often makes us laugh and keep us concentrate on the recture.

The professor was the best one that i had so far. His teaching methods are very robust and he has a great sense of humor. It is a recommended class for any student to take

I most appreciated the prof's extremely entertaining sense of humor, which encouraged me not to miss lectures. Beyond that, his other great asset is his forthrightness in addressing important issues (regarding environment, health, society, etc.), because he does so with more sincerity than most other profs I've encountered. And finally, he always kept the material manageable for non-majors, a consideration I felt most other 100-level science classes seriously lacked.

I really like how the professor makes the information relatable to the students. I think that the way he engages us in converstation really helps alot of students get an understanding of the material. He provides all the information in the lectures online and points out important information for the exams. I liked that he doesn't make us take unnessaccary notes, he is very respectful to the students, and he teaches us things that are interesting and gets us to think (his lectures are never boring).

Instructor was funny and insightful. He knew the material very well and taught it well.

The lectures aren't boring and make you fall asleep. The professor makes it entertaining while we learn.

Going to lecture and sitting in the front row! Professor was fun, funny, and so informative... loved his class and his lessons! I definitely enjoyed sky as well!

Best science teacher I've ever had in my education life.

I really enjoyed taking this class. The instructor was very friendly and very open to helping students. It was really convenient that all the lecture notes were posted online once the semester started.

His humor and his knowledge of things in general!

He makes the lectures very exciting. I enjoy watching him teach and he makes me comfortable enough to speak when he asks a question. His tests are very fair. I wish more professors were like him.

Everything, I learned a lot.

The teacher, superb and energetic, knowledgable and considerate. Very engaging and funny too =D I had pretty poor attendance, but it was the most enjoyable class to show up to regardless of my participation level.

His connections with his real life experiences and the material we were learning. He always had such fun stories and made the class laugh. I enjoyed going to his class everyday.

no textbook was needed

i was suprisingly interested in the material, the professor presented it in a way that demonstrated why it was actually relevant to the avrage person and he was very intertaining and made the whole class all semester. It was a very enjoyable class.

Going to class and listening to the lectures!

17. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?

Be a little more organized and explain what the next lab is going to be about the week before so that the students can prepare and know what they need to for the next lab, then do a review right before the lab or a quick quiz to make sure the students know what they have to do.

The class was real laid back and I guess she could be more thorough on what she's teaching us but the fact that the atmosphere was so relaxed was the beauty of the class.

If a certain student has a need, the TA should be paying attention to the problem of the student, not getting distracted by something else not related to the student's problem.

Some of the labs were kind of hard to relate to what was going on in the lecture

by being a little more approachable, also when students would have a yes or no question a full explanation would be given. also there were times i felt like she would talk down to myself or other stduents in the class. she had her favorites.

the field trips to the stream, aquarium, and zoo although it felt very rushed and students were not able to take in all the available information.

Being able to really interact with animals and the dissections. It was a great course and it really brought out the little kid in me whenever I got to play with animals.

Being able to dissect two different animals and the trips to the aquarium and the zoo.

Many of the labs were hands on rather than just looking at computers like i have done in other labs.

In general the lab was very interesting and covered a wide variety of material. I enjoyed the different dissections and field trips the most.

The field trips! :] The labs that we do are really neat too!

I really enjoyed the dissecting of the shark and the pig! I loved the field trips as well!

I don't know.

I liked almost all of our labs, except the pig dissection and the respiration lab.
