She seems to have difficulty conveying her thoughts to as she lectures, and her speech doesnÊ»t flow so itÊ»s a bit difficult to listen to her and remain attentive. She tends to grade a bit harshly for a class that only meets once a week.

I do like her as a teacher. Just wish there was more she could explain instead of just reading off the slides.

I do not feel any changes need to be made because I enjoyed every aspect of it.

It's not really her method it's just a really long class. So maybe she should take attendance so more people show up

The only thing i could suggest is for her to do is to not read off the power point as much. It was a little rough going to class and having her tell us what we could have read from home on the power point slides she gave us.

Improvements could be made in the sense of interpreting psychological jargon from the book and translating it more simply and effectively in the slides, so that the comprehension could be made quicker when reading the slides in class and relating what was already read in the book, before coming to class. I really enjoyed the first project, dressing out of context, because it was a good way to get oneself out of a certain mindset and know what to relate to when covering class material. This set a tone for her teaching style, and I was expecting more of this out of the box attitude, instead of purely textbook.

Sometimes lectures were kind of boring and hard to stay awake for, partly because the class was late at night.

I didnt enjoy the first project we had to do, dressing out of context. Perhaps make an alternative for students who are not comfortable with that project.

if you could get the class in a different classroom I think small group discussions would be helpful.

Overall, she is very fair and understanding, and although she grades harshly, I felt compelled to turn in better work in order to obtain that grade that I wanted.

Very organized and ready for each class, we always knew what to expect and when things were going to happen. Very friendly and easy to feel confidence in if you need help.

She is an outstanding professor, she was very enthusiastic about the course which makes it much easier to learn.

I loved Professor Hoo as a teacher. She was effective in communicating with students, she was always available to help students whenever we needed help with material. I learned so much more in this class than in many other classes that I have taken because she seemed very interested in teaching her students. She was always enthusiastic during class and never failed to come prepared.

She was great teacher!

Professor Hoo is a great professor who is intellectual about her teachings and really cares for her students. She drives all of them to do better and she relates well with them too. She definitely is the type of professor that is willing to take the time to help anyone or to make time to have a one on one conversation about anything whether it is about the lectures, assignments, school in general, or even about life. Professors like her are rare at UH Manoa and we need more professors like her to educate all the students at this university.

Audrey is a very thorough and knowledgeable professor. I liked how understanding she was and how well she knew the subject she was teaching. Also, she made class interesting by relating the course materials with real life anecdotes and experiences. Excellent professor. I would recommend this course to others.

I like her teaching style in the sense that she gives real world advise and talks about real world fears that could go unspoken inside the heads of many teens to 20 somethings. She gives great advise and would make a great therapist or speaker for a college audience.

She is nice but I did not like the pumps she wore to class, I feel like they are more appropriate for a night club and not a classroom.

Her project on dressing out of context was a really good experience for all sorts of reasons including the learning and introduction to what the course was all about.

Very friendly and approachable Professor, would definitely take the class again. I like the personality of the Professor and her ability to lecture in a way that includes the entire class and I am amazed at her ability to memorize all our names.

Great teacher and person, very approachable and respectful.

Fantastic person. Uses her great sense of humor to strengthen her lectures without veering from the point. Very intelligent both mentally and emotionally - though the subject matter was sometimes sensitive Audrey never made anyone feel like they were on the spotlight or uncomfortable with themselves. Audrey encouraged students to embrace who they are and vocalize during class - sometimes students would even interrupt Audrey during a lecture and Audrey would always listen (not just politely but sincerely) and explore deeper what the student had mentioned. This gave the class a great sense of equality with the instructor and broke down any walls of inhibition the students may have felt about discussing their thoughts. Audrey is fantastic - I'd recommend this course to anyone - regardless of the major.

Need a better classroom to promote interaction among everyone

I would take another course from her again! she's great.

I really think she is a great person and has a heart for college students and this is essential for teaching.

I would recommend other students to take this as their first WS class because it really got my attention and now I want to take more WS classes.

I really enjoyed this class. Audrey Hoo's teaching method was very effective. All the slides were available online and her tests were mapped out and we were very well prepared for them. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeble.

I personally enjoyed the powerpoint projects. I felt that it gave us the opportunity to be creative, while being informative.

Pretty much everything we covered.

The content was interesting and relevant to more than just a class setting.

I liked the test style, and the study guides were really helpful.

I enjoyed our final project presentations because we learned a lot about other countries and their rules/regulations for aesthetics, dress and looks.

i liked the videos we watched because they were interesting and would follow up with an optional extra credit opportunity. Also, the fact that we got to decide on which final assignment to do (presentation/articles) was something i liked about the class.

I liked how precise her powerpoints were, they didn't exclude any important material and were easy to view.

She kept the material interesting and structured the class so that everyone has a chance at succeeding. She is extremely helpful with her study guides, and her lectures, that allow the students to be fully prepared for her exams. Also her lectures are always interesting, makes you want to go to class.

make it more relatied to actual context of dress now a days

A little more interaction. Lectures can be a bit long, so some interaction would make the class more enjoyable.

The course is fine the way it is!

I would like it if the time slot wasn't so late because since it's winter by the time we get out it's really late.

Perhaps more interactive opportunities, or more time for discussion .. Perhaps spread the class out among two days, rather than one day of 2.5 hours because then it becomes harder to pay attention

Audrey was super nice, caring, and VERY FUNNY! i wish i could take more classes from her. also her mid terms were straight from the study guide, honest and not a tricky teacher.

it was a good class although the time it was held was pretty late and inconvenient.
