19. If you were teaching this course:
a. What would you do to improve it?
b. What would you change?
|
| Change the textbook. |
| Explanation methods on certain problems. |
| Do more hands on work. This is a hard class, even if you passed Algebra! So, well for me, learning by seeing, hearing and hands on is best! |
| None. She teaches very good! |
| not too sure.. |
| I would to more exercises before the tests. |
|
|
20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?
|
| I love that Ms. Chan gives us study guides before our quiz, it helps us refresh and have an idea whats going to be on the quiz.
Its also refreshing to have a teacher that is always in a good mood. |
| Excellent! |
| Different. At times I was a bit confused. |
| she did real good on teaching on the chapters. just need to know more about the writing between the words |
| Good. |
| very fast paced. |
| Very well done! |
| she does her best to explain the equations and problems presented.. |
| She is an excellent teacher. |
| She was very passionate about the subject.
Always wearing a smile and truely concerned about students that weren't grasping the material. |
| Not really, because sometimes she made confuse, but overall, she is a wonderful teacher. |
|
|
21. Has he/she contributed to your general knowledge or to learning job skills?
|
| Yes, I have learned so much about math and I HATE math. But Ms. Chan made learning fun in her class. |
| Absolutely! |
| She has helped in a bit to where, I see a problem and would know that working it out would take longer than I should. However, at the end I will be able to solve the problem. |
| yes she did. |
| Somewhat |
| yes |
| yes! |
| Somewhat, but not sure of business math |
| YES |
| 75% of it was review, since I'm a "mature" student.
As for job skills, I feel the material covered by the teacher is more on the level of learning Life Skills. |
| Absolutely YES! She has improved my gerneral knwoledge in business better than ever. |
|
|
22. Other comments:
|
| Mrs. Chan is one of a kind. She is a great teacher, but it's sometimes hard to understand her way of teaching math. |
| Was very personal at times. There apparently was a change of instructor w/in the first 2-weeks of class, so I missed the day after Labor day and returned that following Thursday, only to find that there is a different person teaching the class. Which at that time, she askes me where was I on Tuesday and asked me to introduce myself to the class and asked very personal questions; Am I married, have a significant other, how long was I in the relationship. So, I did answer those question, but with some attitude, because it was very uncomfortable to have to answer that type of questions as it was very personal and irrelevant to knowing that information. But overall Ms.Chan is an excellent instructor. However, I feel that she needs to "watch what she says in class!" |
| She's a very good teacher and glad to have her! |
| N/A |
| the college is very fortunate to have her she knows her teaching subjects thoroughly. |
| This teacher came into a class and took over from another teacher that left suddenly, during after the first 2 class sessions. I'm so glad Ms. Chun was available and willing to take over. I know I wouldn't have been able to grasp the material as well had the first teacher continued for the entire semester. |
| she is tough and good, because we face challenges. GREAT JOB! |
