none Able to relate to students Knowledgeable Interested in the course she is teaching She knows about Eastern Asian Art. She also showed her students what she got when she traveled. She helped with revising my papers. shows excitement towards the subject. She knows her area well and really wants students to learn and think for themselves. She uses discussion and hand on projects along with lectures, which makes class more interesting. Knowledge of various cultures of Asia, depth of experiential knowledge

18. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

none More activities Besides teaching the Asian History, include writing lessons for students That should help the students improve their writing and the teacher will get better papers With the tea bowl making could the future students have more time to work on their tea bowls. I felt one day to work on the tea bowl wasn't enough. Show up for class on time, come prepared, don't waste class time running back to the office or making copies, be more clear as to what is expected on a exam or paper. I would suggest she use a planner and have a "to do" list so she doesn't forget what she's doing. Also she should stick to the syllabus, and make an effort to remember dates better.

19. How did the instructor show concern for students?

none Assured we understood things she set up one on one meetings after every exam-and essay so she could go over them with the students and let them know where they stand She answered the questions that the students had. She constantly asks for feedback from the students and actively listens. Talking with them, checking up on their progress with reports, papers, etc.

20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

none I would recommend her because I feel I was challenged and I see improvement in my writing. However I would warn them that it is not a piece of cake, she is nice but tough and expects your best Yes I would recommend this instructor to students because she helps you learn about Asian art. You also get to make your own tea bowls. Thank you. No I would not recommend this instructor to students because a lot of class time is wasted on the instructor being unprepared and instructions on assignments never seem to be explained clearly and the lectures are to brief. Yes, great teacher, good knowledge of the area of Asian art.

22. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

none She is not always sure what she is going to do next but she keeps it interesting while learning. For example when we learned about the Japanese tea ceremony, she arranged for us to make our own tea bowls and she invited a professional tea server to demonstrate the traditions..refreshing twist on learning Thank you for sharing the things you got from your travels. Thanks you for letting making a tea bowl and I enjoyed the tea and the chibi arare. Thank you for helping me revise my papers. A nice person just very unorganized.
