This course with Mr. Petersen has been an awesome experience. Complete continuity, excellent teaching strategies, very motivating, and total clarity of cultural views. I am honored to have had the oppertunity to explore this field of study here with him.

Mr. Peterson did the best job
I would not change a thing. He is asome!
It would be pretty hard to improve on Mr Peterson's teaching method. He does an amazing job.
I would change nothing. Dan is the most passionate and intelligent instructor I have ever had.
more hands on less leturing and notes
maybe less of the videos, they weren't that great. also maybe talk about some of the important existentialist philosophers more such as Kierkegaard

not a lot really, I liked the information, the only thing I would have changed about the synopsis is putting the chapter names in there too. I had a little confusion on that.
The biggest problem for the kona side was trying to get the notes. If the teacher could e-mail the notes or leave more time to copy them it would be good. Whenever a hilo student makes a comment the notes are lost. Maybe the teacher could repeat the quest

His teaching methods was good.
This course has been an awesome experience. Complete continuity, excellent teaching strategies, very motivating and with total clarity of instruction. I am very honored to have had the oppertunity to study with this teacher and hope to explore other field
Mr. Petersen is an excellent instructor, he just talks fast sometimes, but he gives you ample time to get all the notes. I think he talks fast because he is passionate about philosophy. He is very knowledgeable in what he teaches.
They were OK, but sometimes a little too fast.

This profesor is wonderful and funny, he made the subject come to life.
Mr Peterson's teaching method is brilliant. He teaches in a way everyone can grasp. When he lectures, he uses all three methods in which people learn; verbal, written, and visual. This is a great method, and I was very impressed.
Dan's teaching methods are extremely effective and engaging.

He was great. I didn't always agree with his views, but he was fun and puts things in perspective as to how to understand certain ideas in 'layman's terms' which is great.
Great teacher. This is one of the only classes I could find engaging via vid-con.

I chose philosophy as my major because of how handsome Dan is.

I would change the pace of the course. There is so much to learn and retain in order to successfully master the course that I felt that I wasn't totally grasping everything, most of it but not all of it. I would also like to have more group exercises in
Assign group work more often.
SLOW DOWN!!!! The teacher has been in Logic for years versus someone who knows nothing about it. There are people that might learn at a slower pace than others and that should not hurt them just because the teacher wants to meet a deadline.
Slower pace to ensure understanding of complicated key information.
practice quizzes throughout the semester to prepare students for the real thing at the end of the semester

Nothing, Dan really want students to understand logic and he even is available on Saturdays for tutoring. And we can call him at home w/any questions about logic

I would do a class review before the midterm and final so that everyone would have an idea of which areas they need to work on to do well.
20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?
I think he is an awesome mentor and teacher. I think that the amount of time he gives to his students is outstanding and that more teachers should be like him, willing to give of their time to help the student.
first I would like to say that I admire Mr. Petersens passion for what he does. I don't think I have ever met someone as passionate about their work as Mr. Petersen. Second, Mr. Petersen gave much of his off time to help those who needed more individual
Great teacher. More than willing to help all his students succeed.
Very passionate about his job and the students learning the material but needs to understand that not everyone can move at his pace.

the teacher was more then kind and generous with his time and his method of teaching was at first very shocking and spiritually rude at times but it got the point across

Instructor was very passionate and real with all students. Shocking at times, but he knew the topics and expressed applications to the real world and academic life situations.

Enjoyed this class, reccomend this instructor if you are comfortable learning at a fairly fast pace and are dedicated to do the work. You will learn a lot.
