13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
|
| Interaction with students individually. |
| He really drives his students creativity and knows how to improve their
drawings with his tips. |
| Mr. Niles is very knowledgeable of the subject he teaches, he seems very passionate about it. |
| He is very supportive and pushes his students to do projects that really test their skills. |
| Everything i've listed below :o as well as he demonstrates how to do things on a chalk board with efortlessness that's admirable. |
| He's always there to help and he try to pick my weakness to help me inprove |
| Perfect Artist manner, Good heart, Gentle teaching, respect student.... |
| very aware, intuitive knowledgeable |
| Very helpful, overall a great teacher. |
| His lenient approach to what "art" should be, while still encouraging the importance of form and technique. |
| Mr. Niles not only teaches the basic skills for drawing but he also nurtures each student's creativity through his effective feedbacks. |
|
|
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
|
| Introduce classmates in the beginning of the semester. |
| I suggest being a little more clear in explaining his objective for a picture
but in the end, it worked. |
| At times, the assignments seemed to lack clarity. Perhaps the projects were a bit too complicated or
maybe lacked focus. It would have helped if Stephen was clearer on what exactly he wanted us to
learn from each project (learning outcomes, etc.). |
| Install soft chairs please. LOL |
| i dont know |
| I have no suggest because he is the perfect teacher I ever known. |
| Nothing. |
|
|
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
|
| He went around to everyones art and critiqued, offered advice which showed
concern. |
| His general interaction with the students. It was clear that anyone could go to him for help. |
| He checks up on thier progress and gives feedback throughout class. |
| He goes student by student to see what they need |
| He concern everything what helps his student can improve learning their drawings and Paintings.
He is great teacher. |
| He was very patient with all of the students |
| Personally helped every single student on every project and allowed time outside of class for students. |
| He paces projects according to the class's pace. At two classes, he kindly brought a bottle of ink for brush experiments and he let those students, who doesn't have a ink to use it. |
|
|
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
|
| Yes because his suttle understanding towards the subject of basic drawing tones down the work, making it easier to mold for oneself. |
| Yes, I think that patience and acceptance are virtues that lend Mr Niles to being an excellent teacher in the Arts. |
| I would, because he is very relaxed and a good teacher. I have learned a lot
from him this semester. |
| Yes, he is there to help you if you need it and he will be able to answer any questions you have. |
| Yes, especially if it were a higher-level class. If someone wasn't very good at art (and needed very
basic concepts and skills) I'd probably still recommend him but would also recommend that the
student get a basic drawing book (of the level of Drawing for Dummies) to complement the class. |
| Yes he is a great teacher. |
| Yes, he's pretty good, chill, not as stressful and easygoing. |
| Yes, because he has good artist heart and he will help you with no emotional harms to you.
You don't even know you are getting better and better.... You will be happy when you proved you
did good in the end. |
| yes |
| yes, he was a good teacher |
| Most definitely. His class was both fun and educational. |
| Yes, I would recommend Mr. Niles to students, because whether the student wants to learn as a hobby or a professional developments, he or she can get equally benefit from his class. |
|
|
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
|
| He is a very good artist and seems like an interesting person, not just a
teacher. I would like to have known him not as a teacher because he's been to
France, been an intern for a famous artist and just seems like he has a lot
of experience in the art industry. |
| He is leinent and understanding. |
| Thanks for dealing with me impatient attitute in class about drawing |
| He is a beautiful person.
That's why every became friend in his class in the end. |
| He's got a pretty snazzy haircut too. |
| I liked the level of improvements that I made in a calm and unthreatening environment. I also observed significant improvements in other students' works. |
|
|
18. Other comments:
|
| I hate the chairs in that class with a passion. So much so I won't take painting i'll take 3d comp instead. Man they're like wooden saddles and I don't think it's not good for my back. =.= |
| I wish I know English better...
Stephen Niles is the best teacher with good ernest heart when it comes Art.
He is true Artist and true art teacher.
I just want to say to him "Thank you" |
| Mr. Niles' class exceeded my expectations. |
