13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
everything, he is a great professor, his passion for other cultures is contagious
very knowledgeable on topics discussed in campfire sessions. having campfire sessions really helped with learning the topics & preparing for assignments/exams.
Your sense of humor in campfire is what kept me comming back. You have a lot of story to tell to your students becuase you've been in other countries, places. Yes, I did enjoy campfires.
His major strengths would be being available to the students. Its not very difficult to get a hold of him.

Chief was very clear and knew his stuff on the subject on anthropology. He was also clear when explaining key concepts.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

possibly more samples for the final paper to look at & get ideas about.
Please try to update your assignments, papers due. The one I printed when we started class in Jan. 2011 was last years fall 2010 semester and I did get a little thrown off.

He should be more prompt on inputting the assignment grades and being available to students through email instead of going to his office because students like myself aren't able to meet at school.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
he is always available for the students
he was available by email & office hours to help students with any questions they might have
Keep the memos, notes, email consistently comming. I think that will help a great deal for students.
He showed concern through the campfires. If he wanted a student to contribute more he would ask them. This shows that he really wants to know your thoughts.

Attending his campfires on time showed his concern and how important it is to teach us.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes because he is always there for the students if the students makes question or comments through e-mail. There's nothing better than quick help when the students need help.

Yes, I would recommend students who has the outrageous schedules in their lifes, ie. family, full time work, etc. Online classes are for those students that can't come to lecture class. Very convinient.
I would recommend Professor Hefner to students because they will definitely learn a lot about a variety of different subjects.
