13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Her ability to connect with her students. Not just "Do this homework" then "Here's your grade". If there's a mistake somewhere, she doesn't just point it out and leave you to the wolves, she helps you find the answer... without just giving it to you. Guided learning without killing all the wolves or just throwing you in.
Everything, so inspiring, helpful, challenging, thoughtful
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Teach all of my other classes?
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Even for an online class, she took the time out of her schedule to speak to every student individually to ensure we understood the material, showed us how to make it better, and kept us on track.
Feedback was honest, clear, constructive, prompt.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
No, because then there would be no room left for me. :( I kid, I would absolutely recommend Professor Ross due to the answers above and below.
You bet I would. I was so lucky to take her class.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
To be frank, I've never been a fan of teachers, instructors, or professors. They always reminded me of angry prison guards. But thanks to Professor Ross, my view has changed. There are professors out there that can be purely awesome.
This is a teacher that will positively affect many many students. I wish other departments, deans and administrators could see what works well at KCC.
18. Other comments:
I'd like to reiterate my comment about having her teach all my other classes. Seriously, I'd probably learn much better and faster. :)
English is not my forte and I don't enjoy the subject. Nani was able to get me engaged and challenge me. This course is not easy by any means but I learned a lot and wanted to do all the work.
