15. What did you like least about your online course experience?
Nothing
I absolutely loved this class. This has been my turning point in school as I have decided to pursue my major in Sociology and go on to attain a Masters in the subject. I had no idea how much I would love the study of sociology until I took this course. It was simply excellent.
I enjoyed this class. exams and all. I liked taking the exams because it feels good to know the answers when you're asked and I enjoyed reading the book.
The exams.
It is somewhat difficult to get feedback quickly as it is of course an online environment. This is not specific of this instructor but just a statement regarding online courses in general. If I have questions about an assignment I'll email and wait for a reply. There's only so fast the instructor can reply to emails so getting a backed up inbox is expected. It's no one's fault and again I don't think this is at all specific to this instructor, it's just an unfortunate fact of online courses.
I felt that some of the slideshows didn't quite match up with what we were reading in our textbooks, so having those reworked would've been helpful.
The class as a whole was great. The lack of interactions from peers in my group made the class a bit difficult.
I like the fact that we learned many different social problems thats happening around america.
n/a
everything organized.
The test were hard
16. What did you like most about your online course experience?
I liked the forums it was almost like being in a traditional class because we could interact with each other
The fact that I could go at my own pace.
I liked it all but most of all would be the interations on the forums because we didn't get the social abilities as we would've being in a classroom. This took place of that. T
How happy and energetic Professor Brekke was!
The instructor was very clear and helpful when explaining assignments and what was expected of us. If there were questions they were answered in a timely manner within the reasonable expectations as mentioned above.
The assignments, due dates, and expectations were all very clear and concise from the very beginning of the course.
I like that the Prof promoted honest debts in the forums. It was helpful to see other peoples views on the issues we discussed.
All the homework/forums we had time to do it and also the final project was announce in the syllabus so we had a lot of time to do it. I also like how it was self-paced.
Interaction with classmates and positive feedback from teacher
Gain a lot of social concepts, issues, and how to face these issues.
You have a reasonable amount of time to complete work, and classwork wasn't too challenging but helped understand the material
17. Other comments:
Great course, great teacher. My favorite class so far.
Loved the course! I'm looking forward to taking the summer course as well, as long as I can afford it haha!
I found this course very interesting, and I like that I can apply what I learned about sociology into my everyday life.
Please continue to offer this course with the same style and creativity as this semester
Great class I joined.
All in all your class is great!

15. What did you like least about your online course experience?
Nothing
This was a very interesting subject, I wish I could have had Mrs.Brekke as an in person teacher.
Nothing
Just having to remember to do everything before the deadline.
There were times that I wish I had been in class in order to absorb information better.
Nothing. I think what I liked least if anything pertaining to the the subject was myself not reading enough.
Only thing I did not like about the online course was the exams, they were a little confusing at times.
16. What did you like most about your online course experience?
Doing it at home.
It was my first online class, and it was very organized.
Professor Brekke is hard working and always on schedule. Please keep teachers like this around.
It was very convenient.
In near contradiction to what I liked least about this online course, I loved the freedom online classes afford. Self pacing is a great thing for me, although I do not think online courses are for everyone.
The freedom to turn in forums on our own schedule before the due date.
Being in one group for the whole semester and sharing opinions and ideas with the other group members. Everyone in the group seemed supportive of each other
I've taken many online classes before that were just a wreck when it came to organization. This online class was well-organized and fair, considering the time we were given to complete our tasks and forums.
The method of instruction of getting students to work in a forum environment was new to me, but I felt very effective!

I liked that there was still some peer-to-peer interaction. The forums enabled the students to communicated with each other the opinions regarding various topics. I liked that forums and exams were due every month instead of every week.
I like that all assignments were given and we could worked at our own paced. And I like that this class is online, so I was able to take my work anywhere.

Brekke is the bomb.
Online classes can scare anyone and the experience can go good or bad depending on how you use your time. Online classes work perfect for me since I move a lot and I am a stay at home mom/wife.
I loved that this class had a positive voice regarding the social issues and that most opinions were not rude and discriminatory.

15. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
The best aspects of the course, in my opinion, is the interaction between student to teacher and student to student.
I liked the videos that were shown in class. It really helps get the point of the subject being taught to be understood. I found that doing group work activities also helped me throughout the course.
I liked listening to Professor Brekke lecture on sociological theories and concepts.
Having to do group work assignments and having to take the tests online which were helpful for people who couldn't really make it.
I liked that there were no surprises or changes to when each assignment was due. Also that we're able to completely it on our own time in a well-given amount of time.
The amount of time given to complete forums.
I liked the way the course was set up in blocks so we had a chance to really take our time to learn the material and not rush through a new topic every week.
How assignments were broken up into parts, allowed me to stay on top of my work.
I like that all due dates were at once, it made it easy for me to do my homework at my convenience. The study guides were also very helpful.
Where we were put into teams to interact with one another. It was effective and got us to see what others opinions were and how they felt on the subjects we looked at.
Because this was an online class, very rare do we get the chance to interact and communicate with other students in the class. Professor Brekke gave us the chance and also encouraged us to interact with one another and made ways where we can speak to others as well.
I like how the assignments are all due within the end of each month. If assignments were due weekly, I think it would be stressful. It has given us a lot of time to work on the assignment and allows us to understand it better. Also by allowing to do this, it doesn't cause any conflict and stress that might come between with other courses assignments. But then again, the student also must not take advantage of it. I also like how most assignments and examples are relatable to the real world or at least in Hawaii news. It's interesting.
- The amount of time given to read and take the exams
I really like the fact that we got to complete assignments at our own pace by a certain date, rather than have something due every week.
I liked the forums and interacting with one another constantly.
I liked the forums alot!!! :)
I liked the Final Project because it helped me open another way to present projects and it was fun to do.
The resources and study guides.
that it was all very self explanatory
resources were provided
I thought the topics were chosen well and showed numerous aspects about sociology seen in everyday life.
The distribution of assignments. Some times it's hard to balance out the work load from all your classes, but this class spread assignments out for me so the stress load wasn't bad at all this semester.
The group posts vice the whole class.
I enjoyed interacting with my teammates.
I liked how each assignment was fairly different from the last and it wasn't the same all the time.
Everything was discussed on the syllabus.
I liked that you were able to do assignments on your own time.
The overall course about sociology is very interesting. I liked the statistics and the forums were fun too. I liked having a team and viewing other perspectives.
I am not a big fan of forums however, Professor Brekke made them very interesting, because of such student interaction was enlightening.
I love that Eunice Brekke included videos with her assignments to grasp more understanding to the lesson since our classes were online.
The organization of the tests that was given.
I like how this class have different discussion posts related to several chapter, which gives each individual to think and write about his/her opinion.
The team work.
The group woek helped a lot.
I loved the class discussions and group work.
I liked how we worked in groups for somethings in the class.
16. Which aspects of the course did you like least?

Test :(
Had a little trouble with voicethread but I made it through.
workload was little too much
I thought that the online presentation at the end wasn't very well organized and many students had difficulty either uploading to the software or commenting on other students.
The project, it's something I've never worked with before.
I didn't like how alot of the assignments seemed cramped together, I got confused on what chapters we had to read with what forum.
Using Laulima for posting is never a pleasant experience. I would prefer to use a better forum for discussion.
That an exam is due on the weekend following Thanksgiving.
What i did not like was the amount of reading involved. it was hard to keep up with the amount of chapters expected.
Hmmm....for me I really enjoyed this course! So I guess there were none!
Doesn't apply
I just didn't like that one of the tests and forums was due on the sunday after thanksgiving. It would have helped if she sent out a reminder notice before thanksgiving that the test and forums were due that sunday. I completely forgot about it.
I think sometimes the discussion posts were graded critically.
There were two finals. A project and a test. I rather have just one of those.
I've never been much of a fan for exams to gauge the competency of students regarding the course work.
I wish we could have switched our groups up to get to know everyone in the class.
