13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
His strengths as a teacher was that he knew the material very well.
He knows the subject very well and presents it in a way that is very easy for students to understand. He's good at engaging students and keeps class interesting, without ever going off-topic.
He knows his math very well, and knows how to teach the students.
He knows all the math formulas and stuff. I don't think there is a problem that he can't do.
Very approachable with a fun attitude. Made even a math class interesting to attend.
He really knew what he was teaching and was able to joke around with us which made going to class a lot more fun.
His charisma and caring for students as a teacher is what made his class fun and enjoyable.
Explains everything really well! great teacher!
I like his teaching style.
he knows the course material very well and is able to explain it to us in a way that we are able to understand and remember it all.
He made it easy to understand math and always reviews and goes over what ever we need help on, which is very helpful.
his teaching methods were clear. funny guy.
Entertaining. He knows the material really well.
He explained the material clearly, and in multiple ways so that everyone would be able to understand.
he knew was he was talking about and could explain and give great examples
He shows the problem step by step and explains it well. He gives ways to memorize things in an easier way.
He is a very enthusiastic math teacher that really knows his field. The way he teaches is very effective and when you leave the class you leave feeling prepared. A great teacher overall, I would recommend him if you want a strong math background.
KNows the subject well, and teaches it in the most simple way possible.
the way he teaches the material. And if we need help or have any questions he would help us with them. Another major strength as a teacher is that he would prepare us students for the exams,
Craig Inouye, has a lot of strength being a teacher. He's a great instructor and I hope he'd teach Math 100. He's got a great personality and humor and knows what he is doing; he makes sure the his students are understanding the course as clear as he does. He's fair when it comes to gradings and exams, good with giving our your average grade after a test and know how well you are doing, and encourages you to study and puts in time for outside class help. As for his outside class communication, he's prompt with it and responds immediately. Makes learning fun.
knew subject being taught
He gives really good notes and step by step instructions on how to solve each type of problem. He is well organized and there were no surprises as far as deadlines. His main strength is his sense of humor. A little laughter goes a long way in a 7:45 class.
He teaches it where it's easier to understand.
He was able to make math fun even though math is not a fun subject.
Everything about math 25. He knows the easy way as well, but started the hard way so we'd understand
Clarity during his lessons and knowledge of material along with a funny outlook
experience, knowledge, accessibility, willingness to help
He knows the material and willing to help
Craig Inouye made learning fun. Most of the times class went by smoothly and here and there he would crack up a few jokes or two to keep us focused and not let of mind escape elsewhere.
Craig Inouye strength as a teacher is he knows the math area really well and he taught the students math 25 really well.
He is a very funny teacher and his writing is neat and legible. Many students like to come to class where they feel comfortable with the instructor and is more likely to learn.
He knew what he was talking about. He explained everything step by step.
He knows the subject very well.
Mr. Inouye made Math 25 "fun." He explained everything very clearly and I was able to understand the concepts he taught. Mr. Inouye is the BEST Math teacher I have ever had!
He's is very humorous and can relate to his students well. He cares about students passing, doing well, and being prepared for whatever is ahead. He doesn't beat around the bush, so his class is very straight forward and to the point.
He knows how to explain the material in a way that everyone can understand and goes over different ways than what is explained in the book which is really helpful.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
I like how he has everything schedualed and always has everything on time.
Teach slower. It's hard to remember everything when the subject changes from class to class.
Write bigger on the board, if possible. I couldn't see a lot of the numbers because my eyes aren't perfect.
None, I really liked his class the way it is :)
Nah, no need change. stay as is!

Maybe have Thursday be the day when there's two homework Assignments do there's more time to complete it.
more questions on quizzes.
more extra credit if students are having a hard time in class.
dont review new things before one of the quizes

Perhaps make a more lenient grading method? if not then I think he is perfect as is.

Nothing, good teacher, very organized, and very clear.
Some times his jokes are not funny. He might need to come up with some new ones.
None, stay funny
None
none
no changes
Perhaps to allow personal time for students that don't understand the material or need a better understanding from the chapter. A lot of us went to math tutoring, but everyone has a different way of teaching something. The way Craig would teach it, would be the way the students knew about. Learning a different method could possibly cause confusion.
My suggestion is always stay funny because you entertain the class and keep teaching math well. Also, keep your voice down lol....
Slow down on material and be more thorough with the harder materials.
Be able to retake a quiz
Slow down course work. It's always at a fast pace and I understand that we only have a short amount of time to cover course work but I think he should slow down a bit when it comes to explaining.
I would suggest that he maybe announce his office hours to the class a little more. But he already has it posted on the syllabus and is very helpful in class as it is.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He showed concern for his students by encouraging his students to do extra problems if they need it.
Available at any time to help students with homework through email, and responds with answers in a timely manner (an hour or two, as opposed to some who respond in a day or two, when help usually isn't needed because the assignment was already due).
He gave us a sheet every other week letting us know our grades and how we were doing.
He informs his students of test grades and answers their questions clearly and completely.
Always asked students whether they had trouble or questions on homework. Made announcements and questioned even about work done for math lab which was easier to forget about.
He's really quick at returning homework and tests, if we had a test coming up we could hold on to the homework to help us study if we needed it. Also is very easy to contact to ask for help. Besides his e-mail, he gives out his number to his students so we can ask for help or let him know in advance if we'll be absent that day. All the partial credit he gives helped me a lot too >.<;;;
Always asking questions, making sure they understand the material before moving on to the next step.
asking questions
he ask many questions.
is prompt in answering emails when we have questions and also does the same in class when we have questions.
He always ask if we need to go over anything and works on assignments in class with us.
giving us reality checks for the class and being honest.
He gave us our grades to help us see what we needed to wirk on or do in order to pass the class
He warned students of upcomming deadlines.
he would go over our grades frequently and ask us if we had any questions
He would walk around class while working on problems and help you. Work on some homework problems in class so it is less work for us to do at home.
He reminds students that he is available and when I needed help he was more than willing to come by and help. He was able to help me over the phone and that itself was awesome of Mr. Inouye. He is felxibale and willing to help the student if the student needed assistance.
Made himself available outside of class.
He would give us different types of examples regarding the chapter.
Craig Inouye shows a lot of concern for his students; he encourages students to do their best and helps them with questions.
was always there for any one who needed help, always asked if we needed help.
He made sure to make time in class to answer any questions students had.
yes, lets us know how were doing, telling us what we should or shouldnt do.
I'm sure if he showed much concern for students, but always told us our academic standing in the class, and tell us to come in to get help
He would help you when you're lost in and outside of class. And would ask if there are any questions in the quiz, test, homework, classwork, etc...
He gave advice and is very honest with his students
answered and assisted all students in and out of class
yeah
By listing his number on the syllabus. We were able to call and ask questions if we needed to. Towards the ending of the semester, he handed out worksheets regarding a specific chapter we were working on and encouraged us to use the worksheets like tests and to first try and work the problems out then to check it. rather then looking at notes, and taking our time to solve each problem. Because on the test, that's not allowed.
Encourage all students to do their best each and every homework, quiz, and test. Talk to the class before and after the quizzes and tests to help students understand how they are doing and where they stand on the course.
Well he show it in a funny way, but i know that he really cares about the students grade by telling the students who are borderline to either withdraw or sign up for no credit, credit, but even though you withdraw he still wants the students to stay in class to learn the rest of the course materials.
He printed out progress reports frequently to manage the grading for each student.
he gave us grade sheets that explained what we were missing. and what we can do to improve our grade
He gives reviews on our grades at the end of every quiz we have which to me shows concern.
He always gives reminders to his students before, during, and after class, about the subject or things happening amongst KCC. He explains why dropping a course to avoid a W is helpful, and also advises students who dropped out to still attend class so they'll be prepared the next time around.
He would explain the questions that he thought everyone would have a hard time with and give review sheets to help us better understand the subject.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I would recommend him to other students because he really wants you to know the material very well for the next class.
Yes, of course! I personally don't like math, at all, but he made it interesting and I actually liked going to class. Concepts that I didn't understand in high school were a whole lot easier to understand in this class.

Yes, i learned a lot in his class and also enjoyed myself most of the time
yes, ease of access and care to individual questions and creates a good atmosphere to learning
yeah i guess but the student needs to be able to move at a fast speed and have a sense of humor
Sure. He does joke around a lot. His jokes aren't too offensive either. He knows his limit in joking to where it won't harm anyone's feelings to the extreme. It does make the class become familiar what they're professor is like. It gives character. If students are able to see the way their professor is, they might not be so scared to ask questions or to joke around themselves.
Yes, i would recommend students to take Inouye because his really funny and beside that his really a great teacher. he teach the class really well.
Yes, I enjoyed going to his class and I felt comfortable.

He's a very funny teacher, he lightens up the mood when in class, but hes also sarcastic but hes cool.
He is probably one of, or if not, the best college instructor I have had in the three semesters I've been at KCC. He is full of personality and knows what he is doing for sure.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Craig Inouye knew what to teach us for every chapter section and was well organized. He makes class fun, as well as reminds students for upcoming tests & quizzes.
He made me think that MATH is FUN!!!* I had never liked or did good on math, but Mr. Craig explained all the formula that we have to know and the methods do solve the problems very clearly and with a simple exlanation. also I could feel he really cares his students because he emphasized and introduced what choises we, students have, such as introducing how to culculate our grades, notifying the last day to drop/withdraw, or suggesting to go for non credit. His grading is very fair and kind.
He teaches all you need to know, nothing else (so you don't get confused).
He knows about the subject very well.
He is very enthusiastic and tends to make jokes as he teaches which kept his class interesting. He also explains the mathematical concepts in such a way that it's easy to understand and easily applicable.
He clearly knows his subject well and knows how to teach it as well. He makes students feel comfortable with him, and in the class. I don't feel stupid to ask questions.
He knows what he's talking about and explains everything clearly.
Craig Inouye major strengths are explaining the chapter in every detail so we can understand it easier.
He's organized, clear, and teaches in a way so that we know the exact process.

He is well organized and teaches us in an easy way to understand the concept of what we are doing.
Knowing a faster and more effective way to solve a problem.
He is very knowledgable on the subject and had many helpful techniques to solve the problems we were learning. He was very prompt when it came to grading and the next class we had after taking a chapter test we received a sheet that had all of our scores for homework, quizzes, and the test we just took. The sheet also had our current grade. I wish all teachers did this after tests.
Knows Material and how to teach it in a easy way to understand, Finds ways to get us involved when answering questions, very personable to students.

Craig Inouye's lessons are simple and straight to the point. His strengths as a teacher is knowing the material he's teaching and always gives students time to understand and try the problem out on there own.

He knew the material and taught the material very well.
Craig Inouye is very knowledgeable and knows his course very well. He also keeps students up to date with their test scores and overall grade.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
no changes.
Make up or extra credit would be helpful ;)
Try not to put down students so much when they say the wrong step/answer. The math itself makes people feel stupid enough.
Stop discriminating!
Can't think of any to suggest.
I don't suggest any.
It helps doing handouts along with the homework. Homework is sometimes rushed to make sure you turn it in to get points, and by the next class we're working on something new. It's nice to have handouts for practice.
N/A
None, I think he does a wonderful job. He goes over anything you have questions about.
He should be able to make time to meet with his students outside of class when they help with math problems.
nothing, fantastic but he should defeinitely make more extra credit, lots of extra credit...
none
More review practices in class before the exam, and I suggest that more homework can be done online because that way it would be easier for students when it comes to some hard problems that students have questions with since mathlab provide example and help to show students how to show the problems immediately, so students do not need to wait until they get to class to ask for help.
i would suggest to slow down the pace, and crack less jokes at the students.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Craig Inouye showed concern for students by showing us our overall grades and what assignments were missing after every test. He also showed concern for students by reminding us about test dates.
As I said earlier, taking time to go over the grades and introducing the possible choices in class showed how much he concern about his students. I did nog even know about the credit/ non-credit system.
He printed up grade checks to let us know where we stood. He was always willing to help as well.
Goes around the class and see if any of the students need help.
He offered extra practice for our class if we needed it and he gave suggestions on what we should probably do based on our grades.
He makes it very easy to ask questions.
He told us, if we have questions about the chapter just meet him office hours or call him up and he will help you.
He asks if we have any questions and goes around the room to check on us.
He helps his students when they need help.
i dont know ...
Craig Inouye shows his concern for students by asking them every class after lectures or assignments are given, if they have any questions with any of the problem. If so, he's willing to put his efforts in explaining the problems and make sure students understand them. And he encourage students to ask questions in class or after class as well.
he was available when needed and would encourage us to come watch him speak at his church
He would actually make time for his students until they understand the concept.
He really helps you outside of class. Or if you're out sick he is really understanding and will allow you to turn in your paper the next class.
By making sure that we got emailes and practice sheets.
In the begining of the semester, he constantly reminded us of his office hours and gave us his cell phone number so we could reach him at any time. He is constantly telling us that we can email him whenever we had any questions on homework and he responds immediately.
going over the homework before class to make sure everyone has the same understanding before we move on to the harder stuff.
telling every single stundents what we are gonna do the whole semester in the first class
explain possible plans based on current grades

He passed out work sheets to practice before the exams and his review at the beggining of a class was really helpful. He always asked us if we got some questions.
He would ask if any one needed help with any problems on the homework and if we had trouble to call or email him with any questions.
He gave us grade checkups continually to make sure we were on track.
n/a
Yes he did.
I don't know.
he show a lot of concern and try to help them as much as they can
He was always there to help even outside of class and his office hours and makes sure i understood what we learned in class.
He would update everyone on their grades and do alot of examples if the students in the class didn't understand how to do a problem.
When I asked some questions during office hours, he helped me very clearly.
By being available outside of class for extra help.
I didnt notice any other concern but for my own. If you had to miss a class due to an emergency or work and you let him know, he would let you retake the test or quiz of that missed class.
Emails. Helped if you had questions
being available outside of class,
Asked if we had any questions about the homework to make sure we knew what we were doing.
He is willing to help you outside of class. He will let you attend other classes for extra help. He even gives you his personal cell phone number to help you on his personal time if needed.
Being understanding and keeping in touch through email.
He always said we could contact him by email or office hours if we needed help.
He was available after class, as well as his office hours. If you didn't understand a problem, Professor Inouye will help you understand it somehow!
He showed concerns for his students by helping us whether it was through email or even his cell phone. he would always remind us about the deadlines for withdrawal and credit no credit.
By informing when quizzes and test are. Also, by giving review sheets for those tests and quizzes.
He always walks around and asks us if we need help. He gives us many ways to communicate with him outside of class if we need help.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He does a very excellent job of engaging the class in math! He teaches math in a very exciting way!
He knows the material well, he is approachable making it easier to ask questions in class, he goes over new material very detailed making it easier to learn.
Craig is very organized and prepares his students well for tests. He has a natural gift of being more than a teacher. All his students love him. He is also very funny, which makes learning enjoyable.
He has good communication skills. He is very friendly and humorous which makes the class less boring.
Knowledgeable, humorous, caring, patient, motivating, approachable, etc. No computer teaching can ever replace outstanding teacher such as Mr. Inouye.
He knew his math and communicated very well with me and I hope others.
He gives very good notes and is very clear about everything.
His caring side for his students.
mr inouye knows what he is doing, he makes class interesting and i like to be in class becuase he tries to make it fun making 1:50 minute fly by, he is effective in teaching the material to the class, making sure we understood the subject. He also takes advantage of technology offering his email, even his personal cell phone to reach him.
Easy to talk to, Good at assesing your problems
Concise and personable. Ability to make an almost 2 hour class go by in a flash for a subject that is normally drat is cause for celebration.
He explains the material thoroughly so that it is easy for the students to understand and comprehend. He goes over the material in detail and explains step by step.
He provides a fun atmosphere to work in and also shows that he likes to teach unlike some teachers. Craig also doesn't teach straight from the book. Any person can read the text and figure it out, he teaches us tips and tricks that will help us in future math classes.
He's very personable and you can tell he loves what he does.
He taught us how analytically and logically think.
Mr. Inouye's strengths as a teacher is he know what he is teaching very well. He has made me understand when I was confused about a subject. His teaching ways were very easy to understand and his class was never boring. I always looked forward to going to his class. He treated everyone very fairly and he is a very easy teacher to talk to and he encourages everyone to ask questions. He has a great sense of humor and shows his students that he cares about us learing the subjects we are covering. He also lets us know how we are progressing in the class so that we are all very aware of what we need to do in order to pass the class.
A good teaching way, and have fun in the class.
The enthusiasm that he brings to the classroom which made for a comfortable environment. Necessary for us who are slower learners. He was very approachable and concerned that we were grasping the material. One can see that he is concerned about the students well being and educational goals here at KCC.
He is a very good teacher that is knowledgable in the area that he teaches. He interacts well with students and encourages an atomosphere to make learning fun.
Ability to connect with his students to get them interested and participate in class subjects.
He knows his subject very well and is willing to help us students out.
As a teacher, he informs all his students' grades weekly. He knows what he's talking about and teaches it well for his class. Because it's summer school the lessons covered by each chapter he goes fast. But for those who don't understand, he breaks it down for them.
He doesn't make it boring
he kept me awake and was fun and good teacher
Excellent Teacher!!!
he seems to know the subject real well
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None.
None.
nothing
None, he's a very good teacher. Makes learning fun.
nothing
Nothing
Although joking around is great, I believe that there is a time and place for everything. On several occasions, I found Gerald to be highly disruptive, and sometimes very disrespectful to both the collective class, and you, the teacher. Frequent outbursts on some days left me feeling distracted at best, slightly annoyed at worst.
None, he should keep teaching his students as he has been doing.
Nothing!
none
none at all.
I do not recommend any changes for Mr. Inouye. His way of teaching and his personality should remain the same. I enojoy his class just the way it is.
Too much homework in this class.
Not a suggestion to him personally, but in my opinion I needed to take this class in a regular school session, Spring or Fall. Even with the MYMath Lab component of the class this was too much material to cover in too little of a time frame. It has been more than 35 years since I took this stuff and I really needed to focus more than the other students.
none
Don't change.
none

nothing
NONE
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He made himself accessible, even after hours, to help us when we had a problem with an assignment.
Always goes over the homework/quiz/test questions to clear up an misunderstandings or problems. He walks around the class to make sure students are not struggling, and helps them when needed.
Assigning us homework, giving us detailed notes, providing review sheets, having us do homework in class if we have any questions.
He gave us our average grade every week and suggested us if we needed to drop or how to raise our grades.
He would check and help every single student whether you for assistance or not. When you did need his assistance, he was patient even to find my error. Encouraged us in various ways for improving our learning.
Gave us his cell phone number and encouraged us to call him at any time.
If you e-mailed him, he would e-mail you back or do the problem in class.
He helped them with problems that they couldn't understand.
great communication tactics using email, cell phone, and 1v1. allowed students to stay in the 2nd session of class if missed original class.
By asking if anyone had any questions any time and by going around the class to make sure people got the criteria
He showed concern for the financially challenged student by offering some money saving tips. In addition, a phone call to a hungry student's mother was priceless. Attempting to satisfy the basic physiological need for food so that one may focus on the task at hand (in that particular case, Math homework) was right on! Too bad she didn't bring him food. Now THAT, would have been classic!
He is always willing to help his students. He asks us if we have any problems we don't understand. He always walks around and offers to help his students.
He constantly told us to email him or call him if we need help or have questions; no matter what time of day. After every test he gives you a sheet of paper of grades for everything you have done for the class.
we were constantly aware of our grade.
n/a
Mr. Inouye shows concern for his students by taking the time to go over anything anyone in the class needs help on. He always encourages us to ask alot of questions. He goes around the class when we are doing our assignments and checks on each and everyone of us on how we are doing and if he notices anyone of us needs help he will stop and work with you one on one until you understand. He always lets us know that he wants us to do well.
He let the student call him when they have some problem do not know how to do,etc.
I had some personal challenges with my children being left at home unattended and they needed to be looked after until there summer session started on June 1st. Craig allowed me to what was necessary to attend class.
He always expressed his willingness to help if a student had a problem with the course work or questions.
He talked about how we can improve our grades and helps a lot with home works or mathematical equations that we don't understand.
Talk to the person
He tells us to come to class everyday and not to be tardy. He gave extra credit work for those who needs to boost up their grade a little but more.
he would help us with what we needed
asked us if we needed help on problems from the homework.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes! Mr. Inouye is an excellent teacher, and anyone who has the chance to take a class from him would do well!

Yeah i would because he helped me refine my math 24 and help me learn what i missed previously
Yes. Gets straight to the point -- doesn't teach with a lot of jargon as some other math professors do. No fluff, succinct lectures -- A+.
Yes! He is one of the best math teachers around. It is not easy to take a math course during the summer session because it is so accelerated however, I was able to handle the work because he taught the material so well, step-by-step.
YES I would! He has a fun sense of humor, he is a great teacher, and really shows that he loves to teach.
Yes because he's easy to understand
yes. Because his style of teaching makes a student want to learn math.
I recommend Mr. Inouye to students because students will be very comfortable in his class and learing from him is easy. His personality makes the class fun and makes you want to attend his class every day. Homework for his class always pertains to the subject covered in class the notes he gives for students to take is clear and not confusing. I also recommend students to him because he is very knowlegable in what he teaches.
Yes, because he is a funny teacher, and students are learning in his class with fun.
"Yes"He came highly recommended to me by other students, however I should have taken this class in a regular school session and not the summer.Very Good Instructor. Luckily I have the mathlab to fall back on as a review.
Yes. He is an excellent teacher.
yes, a very fun teacher. Students will surely feel comfortable around him making it easy to learn and interact with Mr.Inouye.
Yes. Cause funny, he is a good teacher, atmosphere in class is great.
yes. Because I like how he teaches and he's organized. He makes jokes in class to make the class a little more appealing. He's a great teacher and I'm sure all my friends would love to have him as a math teacher.
yes becuase hes funny and can teach
YES
yes, he makes class more interesting
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Excellent teacher!
Very good teacher!
I wish i could take him for math 25 and am very happy I took his class for summer.
He is very humorous.
I am hoping to have him as a teacher again in his classes do not fill up instantly. He makes me appreciate math and although I only need to take math to 100, learning from him makes me want to learn more beyond math 100.
thank you for having his as a math teacher.
One pretty cool dude. Inouye helped me to re-evaluate and reaffirm some of my own beliefs. Any teacher who has the ability to make students think about issues outside the scope of the particular class, makes relevant points in how Math relates to life outside the classroom, teaches life skills, in my book, deserves much respect and commendation. Kansya wo komete, hontouni arigatou gozaimasu. Otsukaresamadesu.
Craig Inouye is a great teacher. He knows how to explain so that students will catch the idea. I was fortunate to have him as my teacher because I feel that it is important to have a good foundation for math, and now I feel equipped and prepared to move on to the next level of math.
I wish he taught higher levels of math, too! Instead of Math 24/25 :((
he da bomb
He has taught me how to look at numbers as part of my life in a different way.
Mr. Inouye your math class has been fun to attend. This was the first math class that I have enjoyed being in and have wanted to attend everyday. When I was confused you have taken the time to help me. Your classes were never boring. Please don't change the way you teach or your personality with students. You are very good in what you teach.
Good teacher!
He was open and upfront about the limited time that we had this summer session toward us completing the course, there were too many personal challenged that I had with my children to allow me to focus, he did mention this on the first day of class that we needed to be attentive, he was right and I could not focus or catch up. I will attempt this call again in the normal school semester.
His methods of teaching are very effective and clear. Straight to the point yet simple and fun.
Great teacher, recommended to those that needs to take math 24.
he loves movies! He likes to be ghetto and pick-up X-L popcorn bags in the trash with the refill tab on it.
he cool yo

16. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
i think the instructor in the class help student
I liked that he was able to explain things clearly in a way that everyone could understand him.
He knows how to teach math in a way that no other teacher has been able to ever teach me.
Math :) He is a nice instructor and does a good job teaching math.
The instructor is easy to get a long with. He does a lot of examples on the board which are very helpful. The reviews Craig passes out are very helpful.
Gets along with the students very well as if we were his friends. Has a good way of teaching the work to the students.
Jokes a lot which makes the class fun but he knows when to get serious when he needs to which is a plus.
Craig was very knowledgeable about Math, He made the class fun to learn.
He explained everything very well he broke all the information down into tiny pieces so we could understand it....at the same time it felt like i was dumb like a kindergardener but most of the time that was very necessary. And he made the class interesting because he had a good sense of humor he doesnt make the student feel stupid if they dont understand. He is really good about making himself available for his students and show genuine concern for them! :)
Good knowlege of subject matter and great personality. Makes class funny and entertaining instead of boring. Good at explaining the work and showing how to solve the problems. Very well organized.
Hes an awesome teacher! He made math simple, going over homework assignments, quizzes and exams.
17. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
n/a
none
Slow down to make sure the entire class understands rather than moving on when just one or two understand. Good teacher just needs to make more of an effort to make sure his entire class is on the same level.
none.....
I dont think the instructor needs to change anything just keep doing what your doing.
Nothing!
If there was anything that I would like to see him do more of is to have the student come up and solve the homework or review on the broad. I think this help as a teaching aide.We did this in my last class. It made the class help in the learning, help other students who were struggling and overcome areas where we were stuck or didn't understand.

19. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He would ask if anyone had questions, and if we needed help on the homework we could call him or e-mail him.
he always asked us about problems we had with homework before we turned it in.
By offering help and make suggestions. After quizzes he stayed after class to explain where we went wrong. Greatly appreciated!
Craig is very good about emails and communicating with students and accepting late Homework.
he gave us his phone number and otehr contacts so whenever we need help we ahd many ways of asking him.
Always willing to do any problems that we have questions on till we understand them.
he always would get back to you if you had question. often by email or office time.
Through social interaction and providing his cell number and email for any questions. Also by giving extra credit papers and assignments.
20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, i would reccomend this instructor to other students because he was a good teacher that knew what he was talking about and knew how to explain how to do the work clearly.
Yes he is an exelent math teacher
Yes, I would recommend Craig. Very knowledgeable!
Yes, I would. The instructor makes it a fun learning atmosphere.
yes i would recommend this instructor to other students because he speaks clearly and very well at teaching the work.
Yes because he has a very big sense of humor and will crack a joke every chance he gets and they are really funny! But he teaches the subject really well and knows his math.
Great teacher, knows his stuff. Would recommend him and take his class again.
I would definitely recommend this class to other students because of all the reasons above....
yes, He is good at his job and is enthusiastic. Also he keeps students informed on due dates and test dates in a timely matter.
I totally would and already have. His class is easy to follow. His lectures are simple, his exams are exactly what we studied with no surprises, his bubbly personality keeps you focused and interested in the subject and I especially like that he shows you youre grade after every exam so that you can keep track of how you are doing.
21. What else would you like to say about this instructor?

he does great work and sould get a raise.
I'm pretty good at all other subjects except math! It's been years and years since I've done this type of math, I'm trying sooooo hard to perfect my work. This instructor shows concerns towards students in a humorous way which I find hilarious and interesting. I never had a math instructor who seems like they enjoy their job, it appears for the first time I actually got a joyous math instructor! Craig makes learning fun and entertaining, it's easier for me to grasp the subject with that type of atmosphere especially when we students are going through our own personal issues/troubles like most college students are. I would recommend.......
i enjoyed your class and your jokes. thank you and keep doing what your doing.
I be reppin' that Maui Built all day!
Just allow the students do come up and work out the problems that they don't understand and then help them with what area that can't understand.
I think I said it all....

16. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
being patient and explaining the material thoroughly.
He literally teaches us the material step by step. and it is much easier to understand the material that way.
Knows the subject well and has a great sense of humor which makes class alot more enjoyable!
knbows area well and makes it fun.
he knows the material very well
He really knows his material and he knows heʻs smart in math. What I really like about him is that heʻs not "stuck-up" about it. If someone is struggling, heʻs always there to help. Heʻs super funny so he can keep some what of his students up. Math is not everybodyʻs favorite subject and he knows it so he doesnʻt put so much pressure on to us. He just wants us to actually know what weʻre learning.
Mr. Inouye has a great way of helping students understand this difficult course. He looks at the majority of the class and if we have a blank stare on our faces, he knows that we don't understand and will take the time to go over it. Another strength is that he has made math a good learning experience where the students can understand the course material.
I usually didn't bother him during office hours so I put neutral cause I don't know if he was there or not. He knows how to make class interesting, which is good, it keeps everyone awake. Even thought he can seem rough aroung the edges I think he is concerned about the students.
His personality and knowledge
The teach knew his material very well and he made the class fun and interesting
knew the subject very well
The instructor's knowledge of the subject and how he teaches the subject.
100% knows the problem well and answer it correctly
very organized knows subject well shares faster/easier methods grades fairly
17. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
Math lab, was helpful its just it had to be exactly their way or it would be wrong.
I donʻt think he needs changes because heʻs a really good teacher and he knows what heʻs doing. He does go pretty fast like a section a day but he really explains the stuff well. Maybe if thereʻs more time to learn each section itʻll be easier to understand it.
Nothing much.
none
none, because changes was made then the classes would be boaring.
go over the material more than once
The instructor does not need to change anything.

19. How did the instructor show concern for students?
he would recommend his students to see him during office hours or call him when you needed help with your homework.
Always willing to help
he encourage students that were having trouble in his class to see him for help.
He gave us progress reports every so often which I really appreiciated so I know how Iʻm doing and he made sure if we had any questions to see him. He would also help us with what decision to make for registering.
The instructor showed concern by taking the time to address the class and pushing us to do our best. He was always available by phone or email if we needed help.
he would sit down and help some of them, outside of class of course.
He would help us start our helping.
answered questions if you need help, and went over material somewhat thoroughly
By giving us our grades after each test and telling us what to do to pass the class.
give a lot of examples
20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
definately! he is hilarious in class, but he also helps the students a lot.
Yes, I would recommend him to students who need a hands-on teacher who tries to make everything easier for everyone.
Yes, Mr. Inouye knows the subject very well and also has a great sense of humor! Also his teaching style helped me learn alot more compared to some other instructors!
yes, fun and you will learn how to do math.
yes, nice teacher and good at explaining.
yes i recommend this teacher to everybody because he is super funny and doesnt make math boring. He explains it really well and always answers questions.
I would highly recommend this teacher to other students because for a person who has a hard time understanding math, he taught the material in a way where it was easier to understand and made learning math a good experience.
Yes, of course.
ABSOLUTELY YES
Yes, He is funny and make the class very interesting and makes the atmospher welcoming.
i would recommend this instructor if you have time because if you miss a class, you are screwed.
Yes, I would recommend this instructor to students because how the instructor teaches the subject.
yes, very easy to get along
yes, very helpful. patient. will explain if you don't understand a problem/certain step.
21. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Best Math Teacher i have had!!!!
great teacher
I would like to say to keep up the good work and thank you for a great semester. Thank you for making math a great experience and pushing us to do our best. Take care!
Oh Idk, he's a great guy and teacher, it would be nice to be in his class again, but after taking 25 3 times, once with another instructor I hope to have a Math 100 instructor next semester.
