13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He gave us strategies and made math simple to understand. He would go over things and even though it was only a 50 minute class, I never left with my answers unanswered. I also felt like I could go home and do my homework successful and if not I could contact him via email/phone and always get a quick response. He was always a step ahead of us, a sign of a well seasoned teacher.
explain problem clearly
One of my favorite teachers I have had since attending KCC! Math is my least favorite subject, but Professor Inouye really helps you to understand everything we go over, and will take time to keep going over things people in the class are struggling in. He is also the most available teacher I have ever had since my 11th grade math teacher, allowing us his cell number so we can ask for help anytime we need, and responds fast. Seriously this was my first math since high school and it is only 24, but Mr. Inouye gave me a new confidence in this subject I once feared!
Excellent teacher strongly recommended.
Professor Craig has many strengths of being a great KCC teacher. He's intelligent, professional, caring, and a people person. Craig is respected by many students because he's open just about anytime of the day for anything you need regarding Math tutoring, help, support, and for some others like myself, he's also there for personal assistance. Craig's a great friend and a mentor. He has incredible ways of communicating anything with us like upcoming lectures, and assignments, exams etc via email, he's definitely always on the schedule. We're also open to contact him whenever possible. I personally like that because he was always there for us whenever we needed him anytime. In addition, Math is his biggest strength(obviously), he does extremely well at it, and knows how to demonstrate different methods during class lectures for students to better understand Math in different ways. Also, I must add that Professor Inouye is very detailed, and which makes Math super fun, and much easier to grasp on. He's also really funny by the way, great sense of humor. :)
His strength is able to explain the promblem in another way if it is hard to understand.
He knows how to make the class interesting and he thoroughly explains things on the topic.
Know his course material
He makes the learning fun and helps out a lot in areas where people need the most.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Teach summer school classes and put up class schedule for next semester so I can be your student again.
no need any change.
Absolutely NONE!!
None
Great teacher, no changes.
Be emotional available to understand his non-traditional students
Nothing, He's an awesome teacher.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Unlike many other teachers I"ve had, he was always there for us outside of school, which consequently made me more successful. If we had an issue with our personal lives, he understood and would even texted me notes when I had to travel to the mainland. As long as you show concern for the class, your grade and making sure you're on top of things, then he will certainly give the courtesy back.
help and explain
Allowing us to text his cell at anytime, even on weekends, and being really responsive. Not to mention every fay in class he made sure to get everyone on the same level, and he makes it so the class is not too hard to pass but still a good challenge.
Walked around the class to assist students. Gave out email and number for out of class assistance.
He has open communication anytime of the day with us via email or phone whenever possible. He was always there for us. He responds to our messages at any time of the day which proves he cares for his students.
He helped you in class when you needed it.
He did not show much concern for me with regards to assisting me in passing the class
Ask us if we need help after teaching us new material. Walk around while we do our work to see if we're struggling, if so then he helps us by guiding in the right path but at least makes us think for ourselves.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I have already recommended Craig and a new friend of mine also suggested Mr. Inouye when I was already taking him. He knows Math, it's obvious, he's entertaining and understanding, why wouldn't I suggest him?
yes. Craig is good teacher.
YESSS!! If I was going to be teacher, I would strive to be one like professor Inouye.
Yes I would. Excellent learning environment.
I highly recommend Professor Craig to many students for Math beginners because Craig illustrates everything in a step by step process which makes Math so much easier to apprehend and follow up on. He also explains everything in detail on the board for visual learners and by explains clearly about the Chapters discussed in class.
yes. because his a good teacher who knows his subject well
Yes becuase he knows his stuff
No - while he seems to connect to the students out of high school, he does not connect to the non-traditional students. On three occasions I approached him with regards to having difficulty in his class and all three occasions he said "I don't know what to tell you". He was have no assistance to me
Yes I would. His teaching technique is really good. You need to like your teacher or at least get along to want to learn from them. He's a character too. I would want him to teach for the next levels in math.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
If you actually want to understand what you're doing thoroughly and have fun while you're doing it, I would take this teacher.
Good teacher
Like I already said he is one of my favorite teachers of all-time! And it's so trippy he's almost exactly like mt 11th grade teacher :D SHOUT OUT TO WEST!!
Thank you.
Mahalo nui loa Craig for teaching us Math & helping us grow. Using everything you thought us, I can finally use Math again and apply it to the real world. I know this will really help me along way. Mahalo Professor Craig for this awesome learning experience & everything you've done to help me! :) Aloha~
He is an AWSOME teacher!!!
He is one of the best math teachers I had.
He need to put effort into understand his non-traditional students and to provide assistance them in resolving situations to pass the class
18. Other comments:
Nice person, but not a good instructor in respect to his non-traditional students
Thank you for making this math class an enjoyable one.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He was always available for questions outside of class. He answered any email promptly as well.
I think it is hard to be a math teacher because the information is very tedious and difficult but Mr. Inouye's style of teaching made this class enjoyable. By that I mean he explained everything very well and his mood was always good. It seemed to me like he enjoys teaching which is more than I can say for most teachers.
He was very organized when it came to his lectures.
Class organization is always good and clear
craig is great all around for math and loves his students. he is more than dedicated to help
His knowledge of math. And that he's also a fun and laid back teacher, that still expects you to do your best.
Friendly

I don't have any suggestions, everything was taught clearly and organized.
none.
Slow down.

none. teach at another campus that is not trash
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He provided grade checks that kept my mind in check of how hard I needed to work for the grade I wanted.
By keeping us updated with our grades and informing us what we can do better.
email phone number never missed a message or email.
He told us repeatedly to email/call/text with any questions anytime. He meant it. I would email him questions and he would respond within the hour! That's a dedicated teacher.

Yes, he's a good teacher
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Thank you for taking the time to help us outside of class.
I mentioned earlier that he was always in a good mood. He might throw out a math joke during the class and I enjoyed those because along with learning the material I was enjoying just being in the class.
He is understanding yet does not take shit from anyone
Nice teacher. I could understand clearly.
dont ask so many questions. check the guidence office for all the people redgistering students for classes becuase there all less than helpful and got me redgistered for a number of wrong classes
He's a good guy and a fun teacher
Thank you!
18. Other comments:
I really enjoyed your class. It was probably the best math class I have ever taken. Thank you!
This is my third attempt at Math 25 and granted I might not have been trying as hard before but most of it I think was the teachers I was getting. They were just so mundane and dull that I wasn't interested in the work. Mr. Inouye is upbeat and explained the work very well. I was disappointed to find out that this course is the highest level of math he teaches.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He made learning math fun and you can tell he is an expert I his study. I learned a lot from him during this course. He was always willing to take the time to help and explain things that were not clear to me right away.
He was very clear and willing to help students out if they weren't doing well. He also was very honest with students if he thought they weren't doing well and needed help. He always answered questions in a way that the students could understand. He is also funny and makes math more enjoyable.
Mr. Inouye teaches effectively.. He makes you feel interested in Math which is amazing. I flunked out of all my math classes and absolutely dreaded math period. When I took Mr. Inouye's class I got A's on almost every test, taking his class helped me learn both on my own and through his lectures. He is a great teacher, he has a good sense of humor too to help us not get too bored.
He knows what he teaches very well
Good teacher, always asks if you need help doing the homework. Also very friendly teacher.
His strengths as a teacher was encouraging students' participation and always teaching in a clear and organized manner that made it easy for me to understand the lesson.
He's very interactive with the class and teaches in a very hands on way
He knows his subject really well which allows him to answer almost any question a student asks if they need help.
He very helping with his students when they don't understand a problem.
leads a humorous class always on task and easy to understand lectures <3 josh
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None.
Can't really think of any..
None
No changes
No changes are necessary because I believe the class was organized well.
Needs to spend more time going over the lesson. Sometimes I feel like I am having to teach myself the new lesson.
None
he should more explain in details the topic so that the students know what their doing.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
helped us all the time
He was very prompt about getting back to you with offering help. Extremely easy to express concerns from and always let us know where we stood in the class so we never had to guess.
He told us our grades after every test and also told us that if he didn't think we were going to pass that he would help more so that they could pass.
He encourages us to attend all classes, and always reminds us of how we can contact him for any help we need.
He gives students there grades after tests and exams so they know where they stand. It's up to the student to improve
To show concern, he texted us, emailed us or talk to us in person.
He responded to emails very quickly and also made his cellphone number available for students to call or text him when we would need help on a homework assignment or if we needed to contact him immediately if we couldn't attend class.
He is always asking if we need help and he is constantly helping students when they don't understand something
He continuously asks if we have any questions on the lesson taught or the homework or tests we have just done.
If he knows someone needs help passing the class, he'll do his best to help.
always has grades current and helps achieve student goals
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes
I would recommend him to others. He is fair and well prepared and you will learn in his class. He is an excellent teacher.
Yes, he's a very good teacher with a great attitude. He makes learning math enjoyable and easier to understand.
Yes, most definitely. He makes math both fun and really easy!
Definitely, because he's a real college professor. He's not there to baby anyone, if your in college you should understand that it's not going to be easy like high school. You either get it or you don't. You just have to focus and keep up.
I would recommend Mr. Inouye to other students because he's friendly and whenever you need help, he'll be happy to help you.
Yes, I would recommend him to students because he demonstrates a good character as a teacher and he will definitely put his time to help you.
Yes. Math isn't an easy subject but Craig made it fun and his teaching method helps students to understand better
Personally, no. Only because I had a hard time understanding some things so I would suggest that since I didn't understand a lot myself.
Yes, because he's very organized and helpful.
yes, Craig has always been helpful even outside of class.

Don't stop being so cool.
I have no recommended changes to suggest to Craig Inouye.
no changes
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Like I stated before he always responded promptly to messages and was willing to work with students when unexpected situations came up.
He always kept us updated on our grade and what we can do to improve them
He would tell his students what to know on the test and give reviews
He would ask us how we got that answer and when we didn't get it right he took the time to help us.
He showed it through his eyes.
Mr. Inouye should concern for his students by always being there for his students whenever we had questions/needed help. At the start of every class, he always asked if we had any questions about an assignment/test.
Craig Inouye shows concern for his students by providing his personal phone number and informing his students they can call anytime if they have any questions or concerns regarding the lessons and homework.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Take his class.
Yes I would recommend Mr. Inouye. He simplified the equations and explained them in ways that every individual could understand.
yes i would recommend him because he is very helpful and he will always try and find a way to help boost your grade
Yes, he is a good teacher and easy to learn from
Yes, he actually cares about the students and how they're doing in his class. He is very easy to understand and makes sure we understand the material.
Yea, because i actually learned something.
Yes. Mr. Inouye is a great instructor. He help his students as much as he can.
I would recommend Craig Inouye to fellow students because I feel he really cares about his students not only being able pass his class but to be successful in completing Math 25.
yes i would recomend him to students. Best math teacher i have had so far. he explained material well and madde it easy to follow and understand.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
I enjoy your class
He is patient and cares a lot about his students.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He made learning fun and made the class entertaining.
He knew the subject very well. He encouraged kids to try not to miss out any instructions days. He informed kids of tier grades. He's very funny and the best Math 25 teacher I've had so far. He gives you practice problems and gives you assignments that he knows his student will benefit from. Yes, he was a teacher but he was more like a friend.
The humorous personality. Made him seem more approachable and be more comfortable in class.
Mr. Inouye is direct, humorous, knowledgeable, and accessible.
he knows how to do the math, but ONLY him
Very Personable, and encouraging.
Many years of experience in teaching and knowledge in math.
Craig was always there to help and make sure we understood the subject. He made the class environment fun and entertaining which in my opinion is very hard for a math teacher to do.
His lecture styles
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
To have earlier classes
There's nothing I would change. He did everything well. If a student did not pass, it was definitely not Inouye's fault.
n/a
While I admire the fast pace, perhaps we can take more time in the later chapters for a stronger understanding and foundation.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He showed concern for students by always being available either in person, through text, or email.
He'd print out our grades on pieces of papers to show our total points of each assignment (Starting from the beginning of the semester). He made us double check if any points were tallied wrong for any reason. The grades were mostly self-explanatory.
Always available by cell phone, email and responds fairly quickly.
By making himself accessible online, by phone, or in person during his office hours.

Out of class help
In stating that it is important to participate, do homework and ask questions. Main item is to attend every class to not fall behind.
Craig gave us multiple ways to contact him for help when we needed it. He would always let us come in early for help on homework and would give us reviews for our tests.
Yes.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes! Because math is an irritating subject and he makes it less irritating and fun!
YES! YES! I would highly recommend Craig Inouye to other students. If you're willing to pass and do your part on your end, there's nothing to worry about. I encourage you to not miss any days. It's hard to go over last week's work for 1 student.
I would recommend. Easy going, easy to understand. Always available to help.
Yes, if you can handle being challenged and not easily offended, I recommend him. He is the type of person to get you moving.

Yes.
Yes, but only for students that are used to fast pace type setting, and have self-discipline to do homework and ask questions.
Yes, Craig cares about his students moving forward and learning the subject. if you work hard he will give you the grade you deserve. I have never enjoyed a math teacher more.
Yes because of the time he takes to help students outside of class time.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Definitely knows what he's teaching
He basically knows pretty much everything at the top of his head. We can hear him clearly when he lectures. His lectures are in step to step order. Very organized. One of the best professors I had ever had, and I am seriously not good in Math at all. And I like how he uses different colour pens to write things/do math problem examples on the board step by step.
Making sure the students really understand the material, being kind enough to help us even when it is not class time, being organized.
For many students, math can be really draining and boring during class however, Craig makes is exciting by sharing jokes randomly. He's very high spirited also and he believes in his students which makes him a great educator.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
A grade curve would be nice
Brah, try and write bigger. I can't really see the exponent on the white board sometimes. Tanks yah. :P
I have no suggestions in changes. He teaches very well. I've never had a teacher who would teach as well as Craig.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Constantly asked if we needed help and was available through email
He reminded us when the withdraw date is, how to do math with the grades we got to see if we would make it through out the semester, and if all fails, he did suggested that even if you withdraw, we are still free to come to class for lecutures, just that you won't be graded, you can't take exams/quizes/finals, but you are okay to turn your homework in and such. I really like that idea actually. It's really good for students who dropped out/couldn't make it to practice more on what they can't do.
He gave us his personal cell phone number so that we could contact him whenever we needed help/ didn't understand something.
He would go around class and interact with students individually and see how they are doing with their work.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes I would. Very cool and smart guy
Yes, very. He doesnt stutter. He shows excellent qualities as a teacher. Loud, clear and strong voice. Strong answers to every student's question with no hesitation. Goes around to check up on people's work after lectures. He does homework with us and starts with the hardest problem first explaining steps on what to do and what not to do. He gets into the minds of students and it helps a lot because we do make mistakes. Frustrating as it is to be cautious, he teaches us what to look out for so that one little mistake doesnt cost us to lose all 10 points or something.
Yes, strongly recommend. The way he teaches is really easy to understand and he goes by step by step with the material.
Yes. He's a great teacher.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Thanks for a successful semester
What else is there to say? He's great at teaching!
He is actually the first math teacher i've ever had that can explain to me in a way i understand. Therefore I look forward to learning math. Something I thought I would never say.
18. Other comments:
I'M GLAD I SWITCHED CLASSES. IF I WAS STILL IN THAT TBA CLASS, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE JUST FAILED ALL TOGETHER, AND THERE GOES MY MONEY AGAIN AND ANOTHER YEAR OF MATH 25 I HAVE TO RE-TAKE. (THIS IS MY 3RD TIME TAKING MATH 25) HOPEFULLY, 3RD TIME IS A CHARM AND I PASS THIS DAMN MATH LEVEL. IF I DONT PASS THEN OH WELL. GANNA BE ONE OF "THOSE" STUDENTS. I'LL JUST KEEP TAKING YOUR CLASS MISTER. OR MAYBE CHUN DEPENDING ON WHAT FITS ME SCHEDULE BETTER. YES I AM TYPING IN CAPS.
Thank you Craig Inouye!!!!
Craig should teach higher math courses since he's really great at what he does. He executes the math steps very clearly.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Trying to be funny, even when he's teaching.
He knows his material very well and informs his students how to do the procedure, even if someone asks the same question 5 times.
helping us understand in differnt ways
Mr.Inouye knows what hes talking about. Hes a very organized teacher and his class always went smoothly.
Him being organized
Good at teaching.
I think he was very easy to talk to. He didn't look at you like "What? You don't understand that?" when I had a question.
Nice guy who is easy to deal with. He always clearly explained what I was doing wrong if so, and was very easy to keep in contact with.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Have students interact and participate more to better their understanding. Enforce the rule that students don't leave early with out completing their work more! Put the answer book back! It actually helped me understand the work better :( Explain all material thats being covered before the assignment so we don't have to ask questions afterwards.
nothing cause hes the best seattle sports fan, (just kidding). Just nothing.
none, i really like this class
I think he should except late work!
nothing
Not much.
Since I was so used to the "sit in class while teacher teaches math on the board" math classes (like the ones in high school), I wanted to be taught in class rather than finish all my homework (although this was really helpful).
Start classes with a lecture of the material, then assign work on he lecture..... not answer questions of one persons problems and expect everyone to follow, because everyone is clearly not....
None for me, The schedule was clear up until the very end but he made it clear what we would be doing for the final weeks.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He showed concern for students by making sure we actually understand the material. He showed that he didn't want students to be tardy, absent, or leave early unlike most professors.
He informs his students their grades everytime and if someone is going the wrong path, he tries to inform his students before things get out of hand. If things get out of hand, he tells his students how to make sure they can pass and gives them the extra umph to get the momentuem going towards his students.
telling us to take advantage of the extra time we get in class to ask question of what we don't know instead of leaving early
Mr.Inouye tells his students to let him know whats going on if you plan on missing class. He provided us with his email and phone number as well.
He would help the students wen they ask for help. However instead of him just giving them the answer he would strongly
Made himself accessible.
He would send us emails about assignments and any announcements he had.
Gave us all attention one on one if requested. He is always in the classroom early if there are any questions needing visual explanation.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes! He is lenient with grading and will help you if you ask. But if you can't take a joke, I highly recommend you do not take his class.
Yes, becuase he is very imformative, makes the classroom environment more relaxing, and keeping his students informed about anything changes or tests/quizzes/important assignments due.
YES> He makes the class fun and interesting, always reexplains things to us even if he went through it countless times
YES I WOULD! Mr.Inouye is the BOMB! You'll never leave his class without learning something and he's fun to be around.
Yes because he's organized and easy to talk too.
Yes, because he is good.
YES. He was very understandable when I personally was going through a hard time in my life and his classes are fun to be in!
If the student has excellent study skills, then yes they will manage in the class. If they don't however, the class time will not make up for it and they will fall behind within a few weeks.
Of course. Hopefully he teaches math 100 so I can get him again.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Thanks for being an awesome teacher and GO MARINERS!!
Id say Mr.Inouye is by far the best math teacher i've had and i like how he neat he his! It makes it easier to learn.
Nothing else.
Well rounded teacher in his field, and you can tell he enjoys teaching.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
His strengths as a teacher is being able to help students understand quickly the reasons why they got a problem wrong by being able to pick up exactly where the mistake occurred.
Craig Inouye's strengths is that he is able to break down parts of a math equation to help the student understand what he or she is needs to do.
very helpful when I have questions, knows his subject very well
Although he didn't have to teach anything in class he was very helpful and was there whenever i needed help. He'd explain problems better than mymathlab ever could.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
none
no changes
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He emailed us frequently to keep up with our modules and tell us where we should be at in our course work.
He showed concern by letting them know that they are falling behind, and STRONGLY encouraging them to catch up and stay on schedule with assignments.
constantly asking if students have questions
He was there during his specific lab hours which gave students the opportunity to go in and ask him for specific help and he also provided us with a folder that we were able to turn in some quizes for him to look over. In class he would go over it with the individual to see what they did wrong and if they did it correctly he would give us the points we deserved.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, I would because he's a good/ understand teacher.
Yes, I would recommend Craig to other students because this class is really chill. I was able to come to a stress free class and be able to get a lot of work done.
yes, hes a cool teacher and passes you in many assignments even if you scored low.
I wold recommend him to students because even though its an at your own pace class he helps people get on the right track and is very helpful and not intimidating to others.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Many years of experience. Style of explaining is good, so the material is clear.
Craig knows how to properly teach math.
He explains and gives examples
He was very helpful and always helped you understand the math.
knows math well, easily approachable, simplifies math
funny during class
He knows what he's doing.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
The online software in terms of instructions, examples, homework and tests is well done. What is a bit overwhelming is the amount of homework questions for each module/section; sometimes over 30 - 40. In my opinion that is too much, especially having 10 chapters and for each chapter is 2-4 modules.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
he make everything easy to understand
He is very engaging with his students. He is very good at making a potentially boring course fun.
He's fun & knew the subject well.
He enjoyed teaching and his energy helped us through those evening classes. Good sense of humor most of the time.
He is a very intelligent teacher and he knows a lot about what he's teaching. He is very knowledgeable and he is clear when he's teaching. If you don't understand, just ask him and he will help you. He replies to his emails, and even text you back if you asked him through text. He is understanding and a fair grader. It is not up to him to grade you, its the quality of work you put in. So if you play around and do not take his class seriously, then you wouldn't like what you'll get. He is the best teacher.
Very organized, clear when teaching, knows about students weakness and tries to reinforce the subject, flexible, and hard working.
He is funny and that makes learnin very fun
structure infused with humor
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Test in this course were difficult due to the limited number of questions. On question answered wrong could cost you a whole letter grade. Many questions on a test were worth 10-12 points on a 100 point test.

By making himself available far more then most instructors to fit a wide variety of schedules.
he helped when he could.
Always discussed grades and administrative deadlines with us.
He would email you back right away if you had any concerns about anything. He will also reply back really quickly if you text him. It shows that he is there to help and really cares about his students.
Always ask if we need help, what we don't understand. Answered my emails quickly.
He replies to emails and questions very prompt
sure

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Thorough and clear enough for students to be able to complete their homework on their own. Funny.
As a teacher his major strength is his humor and being able to act like a friend to his students. I really felt comfortable in class and he gives us a lot of opportunities to ask for help if needed in and out of class.
He was very knowledgeable of the subject and I like that he wrote out the steps.
He explains the material really well and he knows exactly what he's talking about. He was able to teach us more efficient ways to solve a problem in order to save time and it also made the material easier to understand. He's not intimidating so if you're having a difficult time with a problem, you feel comfortable to ask for help. He also makes sure that everyone understands the material before moving on to another section/topic.
friendly and engaging with everyone
he is really good at math and help students.
He has an ability to get the material through into the students brain and isnt struck up but he has a good sense of humor but is probably the best instructor ive taken at kcc.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
By walking around the classroom to check on the student's progress during classwork, and to inform them on what their current grade is.
He really encourages us to ask for help if we need it. He even gives us his number and email in case we need to get in touch with him. Mr. Inouye also asks if we understand our homework and if not he would go over the subject again and it's really helpful.
He told us our grades and told us if we would do ok in the future.
Before moving on, he'd always ask if we understood or if we needed more examples. He also provided progress reports after each exam so we know exactly where we where at in his class. He always reminded us that if we needed to talk to him, we could either email him, text him or talk to him in person.
always had time either by text or phone call to help with problems

He is a very good and nice teacher, he teach knowledge is very easy to understand.
Dude knows his stuff & is entertaining (though trolls a bit)
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
nothing
No changes.
None
It's not really anything to do with Craig. This was marketed as a lecture based course. It kinda was, but much was left up to you the student and a math lab courseware. Also, I was told that this was kind of a one topic per class course. It seemed that the course just steamrolled on in a continuous fashion and if the student got behind due to they did not understand then it was too bad. Not that it was crisis fault but mores it seems that making sure the students all understood and were keeping up before moving on is now lost art of teaching.
I do not have any suggestions for Mr. Inouye.
Nothing! He is awesome.
Nothing
It's not cool to bring up quizzes at random... or to make them worth as much as [ALL] the homework. Also, homework- a tad too much in a relatively short amount of time. He could possibly have a "sample" test (like how we were given the "sample" final) for each chapter, to go over on the class before the exam, so trickier problems (that we RARELY go over) won't sneak up & slaughter a couple thousand brain cells (as well as a couple 15 points).
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He showed concern by asking us if we understood how to do the problem and helped us if we needed it.
Gives advise whether to drop out or study more so that students don't get an F grade.
Mr. Inouye is able to show concern for students by allowing students to contact him via cellphone, and does ask students about their absence.
He would email you. He would have sheets of your work and scores to clarify why you have such grades.
He always query students which question is difficult for us to understand, that he can help us explain.
By offering help; ex) reminding us of office hours, being available at the tutoring center, etc.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I think he is really good at teaching math, I will absolutely recommend him to my friends.
Yes, because the class is fun and easy to learn from him. He knows the subject at hand very well.
Yes, his class is fun and he teaches really good!
Craig, yes. This form of class, no.
Yes I would recommend Craig Inouye to students because his lectures and instructions are easy to follow and if a student needs more clarification then he will break it down to even more simpler terms. Aside from his ability to produce comprehensive lectures and instructions, he is fair as long as you let him know about any absences.
Yes! I RECOMMEND HIM. He's funny, cool, and energetic. You're never bored in his class.
Yes, because he teach knowledge for people is very easy to understand.
Sure!
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
He is a great teacher and has a fun and interesting class.
Use the same teaching technique by making it fun and not boring!
He is a great math instructor that I would like to continue working alongside throughout higher math courses!
thank you for you help
Cool guy, bless.
18. Other comments:
Great class.
Very unfortunate that it seems that so much is left up to the student in this course. It seems almost that the teacher is no longer a teacher in the traditional sense, but more as a loose guide and attendance taker. So much is left up to the Mathlab. It seems the student almost has to teach themselves a hefty portion of what is being learned. And if they student gets behind or is struggling, then it seems that lost are the days when the teacher had more of a proactive roll in ensuring all students were up on the same page.
Noting
The room smells like something died in it. Does not do him or the class justice. For the sake of future students, possibly relocate the class.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He explained the subject and content well. Answered questions to the best of his ability. Was a fun teacher
Understanding, patient, clear, knowledgeable, lenient, and nice.
He was always early so I was able to come in and ask questions and he was easy to talk to. Towards the end of the course I was going through a tough time at home, and he understood.
Patience and clear lessons. Provides you with the tools you need to succeed in the course.
He has good common sense. He is also good at quickly recognizing when or where you need help.
can really explain math good, better than other math teachers so far.
Mr. Inouye is an excellent Math 25 instructor. He really knows the material well and is always willing to help his students succeed in math. He doesn't give extra credit, which i think really makes his students learn something instead of just passing Math 25 by doing EC.
Mr. Annoy knew what he was talking about which made the material fun to learn.
Funny
He is very fun, easy-going, and has a good sense of humor. He is approachable - very easy to ask questions without feeling shame. Math is one of the subjects I struggle with and I'm actually doing pretty well in his class. This is the first time I've been able to understand the material and do well on tests/quizzes!
Mr. Inouye was able to expalin each chapter in ways everyone could understand. Everyone learns differently.
His class was easy to understand.
Mr. Inouye understands that we are struggling in math and with that approaches the class without the frustration of a professor expecting full comprehension.
An understanding of the student POV in learning new math concepts, and anticipation of problems and common mistakes. Clear, concise instruction.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Teach Higher Math also :)
no changes.
teach more classes in the afternoon
This course really helped me to learn math, but the only thing I would suggest is giving your students worksheets for each chapter to prepare for exams. You gave us worksheets for the last chapter and final; you should do that for each section as well.
none
Not be abusive and not make students feel bad for not understanding!
None.
None. Loved the class!
None that I could think of.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Went over grades and explained what you needed to get to get certain grades toward the end of the term. Reminded about drop deadline. Kept you up to date about grades and was available when help was needed.
He goes around asking us if we have any questions. He explains the concepts and material to the best of his ability to students who are having trouble understanding. He tells his students to contact him through email or by phone if we have trouble doing the homework assignments.
He always checked up on each and everyone of us in class and before we took the final he made sure we knew how much points we needed to get the grade we wanted to achieve in his class.
Always offering to help via email, phone, or in person.
He was always encouraging students to reach him outside of class if help was ever needed through e-mail, cell phone, mathlab, etc.
he checked up on students constantly.
He is willing to help his students both in class and outside of class. He goes over any problems we need help with on homework, quizzes and exams..which I think is very helpful.
He offers his help during and after class.
he just said go get tutoring.
He made it easy for us to contact him if we needed help outside of class. If I ever needed help on a homework assignment, I would contact him and get a response promptly.
He'd always make sure that everyone understood the material learned that day before we left class. If we needed help out of class he promptly replied through email.
We could contact him by e-mail, text, and phone. After every test, I got my grade. It was really useful to know what I achieved.
mr. Inouye made himself available via email and cellphone any time of day. so if you couldn't get to your homework until late at night and got stuck on a question you could text him your problem and he would respond with guidance.
Yes, a genuine concern and willingness to assist anyone who has difficulty in this class and needs to keep up.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, Explains content well and makes Math fun.
Yes I would because he is a nice teacher and is very good at explaining the concepts to his students.
Yes, this is my first class in college and I enjoyed it. I don't even like math but he made it easier to understand. He is a good teacher. Ive heard stories of other bad math teachers here at KCC and he was nothing like them.
Yes I would.
Absolutely! He made math fun again!
Yes, he made math bearable.
yes i would because best at explaining things. makes it funny. never bored
I would definitely recommend him to other students because for those who is bad at math, he really explains things so you understand and he is so hilarious. He makes class fun to go to and never a boring day goes by in his class.
Yes, He is not an easy teacher but he'll do his best to teach the material barney style to everyone, making the material much easier to learn.
Yes he's a good teacher overall
Yes, I would definitely recommend him to other students. He makes math fun and easy to learn!
Yes I most definitely would. I'm not a math fan, if I could choose, I wouldn't take it. But he made math very fun and exciting to learn.
Yes.
I highly recommend Mr. Inouye to struggling math students. He can't make the math any easier, but he does provide the support and learning environment you will need to learn, comprehend, and master the material.
Yes, Craig Inouye's presence in Math 24 and Math 25 allows for an opportunity for interested student to have a strong foundation before moving up into Math 103 or 100.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Keep up the good work!
Awesome class!
So far he was the only math instructor that I was able to really learn from here at KCC. The others made me feel like I was supposed to know the material already and was not helpful but intimidating.
he is the best at what he does. i am taking summer school and passing because of him. i would have a failed if it was any other teacher. his timing and procedure is good
He gives tons of multiply choice question on exams which is good for me because I have a 50/50 chance of getting things right if I eliminate 2/4 choices. He also puts 17-18 questions on exams which I think saves us time, but the problems ain't easy. You really need to study if you expect to maintain a B for the course.
This guy has a good atmosphere to learn in, there are no dull boring days. He has a "American" accent (easy to understand). I have never seen anyone fall asleep in his class.
Don't pick on kids who dont understand math, your a teacher for a reason. You're here to help us understand math if we don't get it maybe you should think of a different approach.
He's good fun.
I'd just really like to thank him for making math 25 exciting. I was preparing myself for a boring lecture class with homeworks and tests I just couldn't understand.
He is a charismatic teacher that brings his personality and liveliness as a part of his teaching style - it makes for a class where active participation is encourage and the student feed off his enthusiasm.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Craig's major strengths as a teacher would be that he's organized
made sure we understood the task at hand, prepared us well for the final, very engaging
Explaining the material and allowing students to better understand
His major strength as a teacher is how he makes it a priority for us to get in touch with him outside of class.
He keeps students on their toes!
Good teaching and funny
-Allows us to engage in math assignments -Creates a fun and exciting atmosphere that allows students more active and comfortable in the classroom. -Funny and engaging -Always keeps us on line by reminding us what would happened if we didn't turn in homework or dont study or even participate as a group.
very neat, well organized and fare.
- Explaining the material - Willing to help outside of class - Made class enjoyable - Going over previous mistakes with the whole class so the same ones are not made again
Organized, patient, flexible, makes math easy to understand, easy to communicate with in or out of class
His class was very engaging, even though it was small, I know that we were all interested in learning from him.
He was really nice. He teaches very well. He gives a good autmosphere when teaching, make it feel like it's okay to ask questions to figure out things clearly.
He was extremely approachable, he made class fun I felt like everyone in my class were just old friends hanging out talking about math. When he was instructing us I felt like I wanted to listen he really did a good job of drawing me in
He always made sure that we understand something before moving on. He always stay late after class to make sure we get stuff.
He knows how to show the formula of an equation very clearly.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
No changes
none
Nothing
When students ask questions, try not to make them feel stupid
Picks on students too much
No changes.
Nothing Keep up the GREAT work!
None
Let students turn in homework late, instead of receiving a complete 0.
I wouldn't make any changes.
none! great job!
nothing he was a great teacher
Nothing.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
By telling us to improve our grades and do homework and study.....
was available to contact outside of class (through email and phone)
By letting us know that he was always available to help outside of class if students were having trouble with the work
He gave us cell number, his email, and he made it clear for us to call him whenever we had a question to ask him. He took the time to teaching us the material if we didn't understand what we were doing, or if we were stuck with something.
He would email if you didnt show up to class
Yes, sometimes
-He consistently asks us questions. - Asks our future and what we are doing to prepare for it -He brought in a counselor that would help our future
If we are failing he would help and or highly suggest to get help and or drop before it's too late.
Always willing to help students outside of class and answered email in a timely manner.
He gave us progress reports frequently, to show us how we were doing after crucial tests and exams. Anytime, he or we thought we needed more help, he was quick to resolve it.
He would sometimes email students.
We had homework given to use on line on a cite called my math lab. If we needed help there was a "ask my instructor button" Craig always got back to me fast if I was having a problem, and more than willing to go over it one on one with me if I needed additional help after class.
He would talk to us , if we were having a hard time. He always made us our class was on the same page.
He always emailed us about the changes in schedules and he reaches out to those who need help.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Half and half because he's a great teacher, but sometimes he doesn't explain a certain area carefully.
Yes! Trust me you wont fall asleep in his class
Yes because he is a great teacher
Yes I would, I say Yes because I learned a lot.
ummmmmm....... possibly if their up for the challenge & arent serious when getting joked on
Yes, very good teacher and funny
-Yes, because he teaches the course subject pretty well and allows us to think more than what the subject is given. - Makes sure we don't fail
Yes, Do the work, pass the class. Not doing homework will fail you quickly. If you ask questions, he will answer them, plain and simple. He gives you his email, work, and cell phone # to help you. If you fail this class, it's because you didn't make any effort.
Yes, because he was always willing to put in the extra time to help students understand the course material and very good explaining course material.
Yes. He's a great teacher.
Yes, he makes learning math easier than most teachers do.
Yes, he's a good teacher. He teaches well & made learning more fun.
Yes I feel like this course could have been a lot harder had it not been for his support and extra help.
I would , because he was a teacher that could relate to us. He made class fun but he also taught the lesson plans well.
Yes, because he can be understood easily.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
nothing
Awesome teacher! Really enjoyed taking his class. Never a dull moment.
Your super funny, and all in all your a good professor
- Funny -Engaging -Creates a positive atmosphere
Even though his class is mostly self taught, its still interesting learning from him. He is a fun teacher to have because of the crude jokes he makes and cares to help you if you're stuck on something. Highly recommended to take this class
Great Teacher
He was probably one of my best math teachers.
He is a good teacher.
Craig Inouye is by far the best teacher I have ever had hands down. I wish more educators were as dedicated to their students education as he is.
Thank you so much for taking your time , and helping me understand the problem . I know I was a trouble student but you really took your time and help me become a better student.
He is very helpful. And he also can entertain a class very well.

As I said, Craig is a good teacher. He is a fun, educational and kind. I sometimes wish that I didn't take his kindness for granted. I wish that I went to class everyday and got the points that I knew that I can get. Though, I guess my lazzyness and unmotivated self couldn't get to class or get the assignment done. Therefore, I am not doing all too well in this class. A C grade is okay, but I feel that I could be doing way better if I put more effort into his class. He is great and I encourage students to take him in the upcoming semesters. I hope he knows that I'm greatful for his teachings. Your awesome, Criag.

He's very open minded and kind he allows his students to work through their problems.
Explained problems in a clear and effective way.
He's nice, funny and also a great teacher if you need the help.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
I hated how math 24 is set up. Who learns on line with a power point and videos. I would never pass if I did not have a tutor. I spent so many hrs outside of class just to learn 24. I paided for this class and it sucked with no licture
None
Nothing.
Nothing.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
always walks around talking to each students encouraging them to push forward and finish with a good great and gives out tips
Well he is coming in early so I can take my final. The setting for tests is the worse I have ever seen
He provides teaching actively while he found confusion on students faces.
He would always check up on his students daily. He never wants to see his students fail when he knows they have potential to pass.
Answers to questions where answered by email very quickly.
He used to remind us what we need to focus on and take our time!
He would walk around regularly and ask if we were okay. He also did binder checks at least once every other week to meet one on one with his students on how we were doing.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes great teacher and very friendly.
Guys yes. He thinks woman are stupid. He made a few comments I did not like and I spoke up. You don't put down a student in fromt of other students
Yes, he is friendly and answer students quickly. The whole team of maths dept I met in the maths lab are nice and helpful.
YES! Because he's awesome. Hard to find teachers like this now a days. And he's chill.
Yes. Good teacher who is fair and easy to communicate with.
He's a good teacher and he's friendly and encouraging.

17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
thank you for helping me out this semester
Not everyone gets math. I am not stupid if this is not my thing. I bet I can a lot of things he can not. A good teacher can teach any student. Not the other way around. I don't think he understands that everyone does not get math I worked by butt off to pass this class
Awesome teacher, funny, chill, helpful, understanding.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He's a good teacher, and teaches the subject well. Gives us a chance to ask questions if we need help on anything.
His strengths are his explanations for the math assignments. He uses his own techniques which he found more easier, better for the students, yet effective for the students. He is quite knowledgeable how to find his own techniques which are more effective than the text book and online assignments.
He is available at all times to help students He makes math fun by providing fun jokes He is very organized and provides the material we need to practise for our exams He continues to believe in the students even if someone (me) did not do so well on the exams. He truly cares. He is a perfect teacher in every way
good handwriting so the board was easy to read through all the numbers. gives examples for us o do on our own after he explains the steps. makes funny jokes during lessons to keep students more attentive during class.
His strengths were being able connect and get along with the students well.

Nothing
Having to remind the class more clearly for upcoming quizzes.
none
More time to learn the materials
Nothing. Everything was understandable throughout the course.
the course can be very unforgiving at times. im not suggesting that you make the class a cakewalk, i think that the difficulty is a good thing, its just that there should be more ways to raise youre grade. if you foul up a few times in a row its possible to flunk out pretty early on in the semester.
To not grade so harsh.
make easier quizzes and tests
He should count all late works.
Nope
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
provided us his email and number, so that we can contact him if we needed help with the assignments outside of class.
He would speak to each student individually about each concern for them to pass or how to know how to prepare for upcoming tests.
He is available at all times outside of class, through email, phone and appointment. He repeat math assignments that he know that we have trouble with to make us practise.
asks us if we need help with homework or class discussion before and after class.
He always made time to help his students in and out of class.
he let us turn in late hw and offered help if needed
He would ask us if we understand the chapter. If not we didn't understand we go back and make sure we all understand.
always made himself available to the students if they needed help.
Answered many of the questions the students asked him.
He gave us this extra credit and other things.
He shows a lot of concern for his class. You can talk to him, email him, or call him if you have any problems with the material. Ask him any question and he'll be happy to answer them.
He always made himself available to us outside of class and encouraged us to talk to him if we didn't understand or needed extra help.
He would always ask if there are any questions about the homework and test that students have and he would explain how the problem worked.

he is a good i have no words for him
There isn't really any changes needed. The way the class was run and how the program was set up things went perfect. Only thing about a self pace class is about the student willing to put in time to finish the work on time and stay that way throughout the course.

Yes. He is a great teacher and shows his concern for his students.
yes^^ Easy to learn.
Maybe, I don't really know. He knows the subject but he needs to see what the student is seeing; relate to the student, ask the student how they understand solving the problem, instead of just telling them how it's done. This way the teacher can pinpoint what concepts the student is struggling on.
neutral.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Well organized
Knowledge of topic and presentation
Craig inouye is a great teacher and I really enjoyed taking his course...
One of his strengths as a teacher are his lectures. It's best to take notes and do the examples he writes on the board. Another strength is that he encourages us to ask questions on the homework, quizzes, or exams. Giving us homework on mymathlab and the textbook is a strength of his and doinng the work as well as studying helps us prepare for his exams and unannounced quizzes.
Mr. Inouye is a great teacher. He explains everything thoroughly and made it easy for the student to understand. He is a very cool guy. I Like the being in class because he made learning math enjoyable.
Simple and Clear Instructions. If questions were asked, he knew explained and went through every step of the problem.
He knew the course material very well.
He always talk to me in outside class. I think his strengths point is friendly. And also he is kindnees.
Teaching us step by step as easy and understanding as possible
he understands his students, therefore knows how to teach his materials

He knows his material very well and shows the best way to do the math problems.
Has an impeccable way of teaching the material that no other teacher can match. Really patient and clear cut.
Mr. Inouye does a great job in teaching his class. He does step by step and explains the problems in class. He also goes around checking on people to see if they need help.
He knows the subject really well, and he helps students understand the material.
Funny,very knowledges. Teaches clearly
Inouye is a funny -intelligent -forward all of those above makes it easy to learn
Easy to learn from him
He knows the material of the class very well and has a good sense of humor.
As a teacher Craig is able to connect with the class as more than just a teacher. He conducted class in a way that was fun to attend, which is especially hard because of the materials that are required to be taught. No one wants to learn trinomial long division...
Professor C. Inouye is an excellent teacher/ role model. He promotes a healthy learning environment by generating laughter and interrelationship amongst classmates. Although there are many laughs in class, Professor Inouye is maintains a highly professional profile. When it comes to his lesson he is very clear and thorough. He insists any and all questions to be asked and makes himself available even after classroom room hours.
He offereds help for the exams and topic .
He's willing to take extra time to explain a concept, and he is willing to offer help outside of class. He cracks some jokes once in a while to keep us awake and make us enjoy the lesson.
Mr. Inouye is a great teacher. He's very knowledgeable with the subject.
He knew his math and was clear in his teaching methods. Difficult problems were easy with his methods. He was a comedian and made all students feel at ease.
That he uses the students energy to help us learn in a fun way where math could be really boring he makes jokes with the math problems to make us laugh and pay attention to help us remember
Very loud and enthusiastic teacher, always knew how to keep students awake during class and make sure everybody understood or at least had a general idea of the topic being taught.
He is able to break down the chapter of our current section and gives examples of how to get the solution. He is willing to give help individually for the people who asks.
He relates to his students in the learning process and also keeps us very engaged in class by the things he says. He teaches in a very good way where we all can understand him and the topic. He goes at a good pace where are able to learn everything while covering what he need to cover.
.
Great, easy-to-approach attitude; fun atmosphere.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
No changes
he should have more participation in the final exam
More extra credit and quizzes shouldn't be unannounced.
Teach the higher level math so i can take him.
Don't single out students and pick on them if they make a mistake infront of the whole class, it just makes them feel like an embarrassment.
I don't suggest anything. I think he can keep it up.
Maybe give extra credit :)

No changes
To slow down on the subject being taught.
Avoid using online math lab because the answers they want is sometimes different from the way we need to have it in class, making it a little confusing.
.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
After each test each individual would get a fully revised grade status sheet
offered tutoring after class, one on one out side of classroom, would go back over individual problems till student understood
He is available outside of class, through e-mail, through phone, and we could text him.
Mr. Inouye was available every time we needed help. He was very easy to get in contact. Always helped with problems and he encouraged student to do better.
He let us know what are grades were after every test.
He encouraged me to attend class regularly by calling me out on my absences.
He talk to classmate in outside class.
If we had questions about homework or on the quiz/testes to ask and we go through it step by step, also let us know about the exam.
by always being available
He always ask which part of the homework we are having difficulty, and he always go over it in the class. He always encourage us to ask questions.
He checks the homework and looks for difficult problems to demonstrate so us, the students would have a greater understanding for the process.
email
He showed concern for students by always mentioning if we needed help with anything just ask, or if their was any problems on our homework he would do it for us and explain to us how to do it before we turn in our homework.
He would go over any problem in class if someone asked him to. And always reminded student of upcoming assignments due.
He would always answer any questions and keep in contact with the students.
To my knowledge he had sent emails to students that are not doing well in class. But it is up to the student to take his advice.
He showed concern for students by letting them know if they will be able to pass the course. Students that withdrew from the class, are still able to come back to learn the subject.
A lot. Just had to call or email or go to his office.
one incident with a couple of students got into a argument, where the class felt uncomfortable. Immediately the next class both of them were accommodated to other classes separately.
He keeps telling us what to do and not to do with math problems.
He is very willing to meet up and listen to any questions.
always available to answer questions.
He offers help.
He always checked to make sure that we understood, and he gave us numerous ways to contact him if we needed help.
He encourage students to ask questions.
He always made sure students understood the math problems from our Homework before we turned it in. If we didn't understand it, He would do the problem on the board.
The way he shows concern for us students is by making jokes and tells us what most students struggle on and what we should be more careful about from other past students mistakes.
Never really needed to during my time in his class. There wasn't really anything to be concerned for.
He gives the students a chance to asks questions from the homework due and then gives step by step help on working it out.
He is available 24/7 because we are able to access him or get in touch with him through e-mail or cell phone. He also shows the the score of everyone test to show us where we stand within our class and tells us how to approach math and going on in the future.
