Very engaged with the students. Knows the material very well.
Mr. Inouye's strengths as a teacher is that he taught every lesson well. He taught us ways or his own method to make us do and understand a problem much easier.
He was very knowledgeable on all the topics and was always willing to take the time to go over problems that students had with the various topics. Furthermore, Mr. Inouye was always prompt to respond to text messages or emails and realizes that life still goes on outside of school and sometimes unexpected things come up but as long as you notified him promptly of the situation he was always willing to work with me.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
I have no recommended changes to suggest to Craig Inouye.
no changes
NO changes

None.
Don't stop being so cool.
None
With summer being shortened classes I think the class was organized fine and don't have any recommendations.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Craig Inouye shows concern for his students by providing his personal phone number and informing his students they can call anytime if they have any questions or concerns regarding the lessons and homework.
He always kept us updated on our grade and what we can do to improve them
He would tell his students what to know on the test and give reviews
He would ask us how we got that answer and when we didn't get it right he took the time to help us.
He showed it through his eyes.
Mr. Inouye should concern for his students by always being there for his students whenever we had questions/needed help. At the start of every class, he always asked if we had any questions about an assignment/test.
Like I stated before he always responded promptly to messages and was willing to work with students when unexpected situations came up.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
I would recommend Craig Inouye to fellow students because I feel he really cares about his students not only being able pass his class but to be successful in completing Math 25.
yes i would recomend him to students. Best math teacher i have had so far. he explained material well and madde it easy to follow and understand.
yes i would recommend him because he is very helpful and he will always try and find a way to help boost your grade
Yes, he is a good teacher and easy to learn from
Yes, he actually cares about the students and how they're doing in his class. He is very easy to understand and makes sure we understand the material.
Yea, because i actually learned something.
Take his class.
Yes. Mr. Inouye is a great instructor. He help his students as much as he can.
Yes I would recommend Mr. Inouye. He simplified the equations and explained them in ways that every individual could understand.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
I would like to take Craig Inouye as an instructor for Math 25 if I could fit it into my schedule.
Best math teacher ever!!
I enjoy your class
He is patient and cares a lot about his students.
Thanks for helping me through my least favorite subject.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Very Personable, and encouraging.
Many years of experience in teaching and knowledge in math.
Craig was always there to help and make sure we understood the subject. He made the class environment fun and entertaining which in my opinion is very hard for a math teacher to do.
The humorous personality. Made him seem more approachable and be more comfortable in class.
Mr. Inouye is direct, humorous, knowledgeable, and accessible.
His lecture styles
He knew the subject very well. He encouraged kids to try not to miss out any instructions days. He informed kids of tier grades. He's very funny and the best Math 25 teacher I've had so far. He gives you practice problems and gives you assignments that he knows his student will benefit from. Yes, he was a teacher but he was more like a friend.
he knows how to do the math, but ONLY him
He made learning fun and made the class entertaining.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None
To maybe explain certain math problems with more comprehensible information and to why it is like that to understand the principle more, not just the theory.
None, Craig is a great teacher
n/a
While I admire the fast pace, perhaps we can take more time in the later chapters for a stronger understanding and foundation.
There's nothing I would change. He did everything well. If a student did not pass, it was definitely not Inouye's fault.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Out of class help
In stating that it is important to participate, do homework and ask questions. Main item is to attend every class to not fall behind.
Craig gave us multiple ways to contact him for help when we needed it. He would always let us come in early for help on homework and would give us reviews for our tests.
Always available by cell phone, email and responds fairly quickly.
By making himself accessible online, by phone, or in person during his office hours.
Yes.
He'd print out our grades on pieces of papers to show our total points of each assignment (Starting from the beginning of the semester). He made us double check if any points were tallied wrong for any reason. The grades were mostly self-explanatory.

He showed concern for students by always being available either in person, through text, or email.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes.
Yes, but only for students that are used to fast pace type setting, and have self-discipline to do homework and ask questions.
Yes, Craig cares about his students moving forward and learning the subject. if you work hard he will give you the grade you deserve. I have never enjoyed a math teacher more.
I would recommend. Easy going, easy to understand. Always available to help.
Yes, if you can handle being challenged and not easily offended, I recommend him. He is the type of person to get you moving.
Yes because of the time he takes to help students outside of class time.
YES! YES! I would highly recommend Craig Inouye to other students. If you're willing to pass and do your part on your end, there's nothing to worry about. I encourage you to not miss any days. It's hard to go over last week's work for 1 student.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
He basically knows pretty much everything at the top of his head. We can hear him clearly when he lectures. His lectures are in step to step order. Very organized. One of the best professors I had ever had, and I am seriously not good in Math at all. And I like how he uses different colour pens to write things/do math problem examples on the board step by step.
Making sure the students really understand the material, being kind enough to help us even when it is not class time, being organized.
For many students, math can be really draining and boring during class however, Craig makes is exciting by sharing jokes randomly. He's very high spirited also and he believes in his students which makes him a great educator.
Definitely knows what he's teaching
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Brah, try and write bigger. I can't really see the exponent on the white board sometimes. Tanks yah. :P
I have no suggestions in changes. He teaches very well. I've never had a teacher who would teach as well as Craig.
A grade curve would be nice
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He reminded us when the withdraw date is, how to do math with the grades we got to see if we would make it through out the semester, and if all fails, he did suggested that even if you withdraw, we are still free to come to class for lecutures, just that you won't be graded, you can't take exams/quizes/finals, but you are okay to turn your homework in and such. I really like that idea actually. It's really good for students who dropped out/couldn't make it to practice more on what they can't do.
He gave us his personal cell phone number so that we could contact him whenever we needed help/ didn't understand something.
He would go around class and interact with students individually and see how they are doing with their work.
Constantly asked if we needed help and was available through email
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, very. He doesnt stutter. He shows excellent qualities as a teacher. Loud, clear and strong voice. Strong answers to every student's question with no hesitation. Goes around to check up on people's work after lectures. He does homework with us and starts with the hardest problem first explaining steps on what to do and what not to do. He gets into the minds of students and it helps a lot because we do make mistakes. Frustrating as it is to be cautious, he teaches us what to look out for so that one little mistake doesnt cost us to lose all 10 points or something.
Yes, strongly recommend. The way he teaches is really easy to understand and he goes by step by step with the material.
Yes. He's a great teacher.
Yes I would. Very cool and smart guy
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
What else is there to say? He's great at teaching!
He is actually the first math teacher i've ever had that can explain to me in a way i understand. Therefore I look forward to learning math. Something I thought I would never say.
Thanks for a successful semester

I'M GLAD I SWITCHED CLASSES. IF I WAS STILL IN THAT TBA CLASS, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE JUST FAILED ALL TOGETHER, AND THERE GOES MY MONEY AGAIN AND ANOTHER YEAR OF MATH 25 I HAVE TO RE-TAKE. (THIS IS MY 3RD TIME TAKING MATH 25) HOPEFULLY, 3RD TIME IS A CHARM AND I PASS THIS DAMN MATH LEVEL. IF I DONT PASS THEN OH WELL. GANNA BE ONE OF "THOSE" STUDENTS. I'LL JUST KEEP TAKING YOUR CLASS MISTER. OR MAYBE CHUN DEPENDING ON WHAT FITS ME SCHEDULE BETTER. YES I AM TYPING IN CAPS.
Thank you Craig Inouye!!!!
Craig should teach higher math courses since he's really great at what he does. He executes the math steps very clearly.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
I think he was very easy to talk to. He didn't look at you like "What? You don't understand that?" when I had a question.
Nice guy who is easy to deal with. He always clearly explained what I was doing wrong if so, and was very easy to keep in contact with.
helping us understand in differnt ways
Mr.Inouye knows what hes talking about. Hes a very organized teacher and his class always went smoothly.
Him being organized
Good at teaching.
Trying to be funny, even when he's teaching.
He knows his material very well and informs his students how to do the procedure, even if someone asks the same question 5 times.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Since I was so used to the "sit in class while teacher teaches math on the board" math classes (like the ones in high school), I wanted to be taught in class rather than finish all my homework (although this was really helpful).
Start classes with a lecture of the material, then assign work on he lecture..... not answer questions of one persons problems and expect everyone to follow, because everyone is clearly not....
None for me, The schedule was clear up until the very end but he made it clear what we would be doing for the final weeks.
none, i really like this class
I think he should except late work!
nothing
Not much.
Have students interact and participate more to better their understanding. Enforce the rule that students don't leave early with out completing their work more! Put the answer book back! It actually helped me understand the work better :( Explain all material thats being covered before the assignment so we don't have to ask questions afterwards.
nothing cause hes the best seattle sports fan, (just kidding). Just nothing.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He would send us emails about assignments and any announcements he had.
Gave us all attention one on one if requested. He is always in the classroom early if there are any questions needing visual explanation.
telling us to take advantage of the extra time we get in class to ask question of what we don't know instead of leaving early
Mr.Inouye tells his students to let him know whats going on if you plan on missing class. He provided us with his email and phone number as well.
He would help the students wen they ask for help. However instead of him just giving them the answer he would strongly
Made himself accessible.
He showed concern for students by making sure we actually understand the material. He showed that he didn't want students to be tardy, absent, or leave early unlike most professors.
He informs his students their grades everytime and if someone is going the wrong path, he tries to inform his students before things get out of hand. If things get out of hand, he tells his students how to make sure they can pass and gives them the extra umph to get the momentuem going towards his students.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
YES. He was very understandable when I personally was going through a hard time in my life and his classes are fun to be in!
If the student has excellent study skills, then yes they will manage in the class. If they don't however, the class time will not make up for it and they will fall behind within a few weeks.
Of course. Hopefully he teaches math 100 so I can get him again.
YES> He makes the class fun and interesting, always reexplains things to us even if he went through it countless times
YES I WOULD! Mr.Inouye is the BOMB! You'll never leave his class without learning something and he's fun to be around.
Yes because he's organized and easy to talk too.
Yes, because he is good.
Yes! He is lenient with grading and will help you if you ask. But if you can't take a joke, I highly recommend you do not take his class.
Yes, becuase he is very imformative, makes the classroom environment more relaxing, and keeping his students informed about anything changes or tests/quizzes/important assignments due.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Well rounded teacher in his field, and you can tell he enjoys teaching.
Id say Mr.Inouye is by far the best math teacher i've had and i like how he neat he his! It makes it easier to learn.
Nothing else.
Thanks for being an awesome teacher and GO MARINERS!!

very helpful when I have questions, knows his subject very well
Although he didn't have to teach anything in class he was very helpful and was there whenever i needed help. He'd explain problems better than mymathlab ever could.
His strengths as a teacher is being able to help students understand quickly the reasons why they got a problem wrong by being able to pick up exactly where the mistake occurred.
Craig Inouye's strengths is that he is able to break down parts of a math equation to help the student understand what he or she is needs to do.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
no changes
none
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
constantly asking if students have questions
He was there during his specific lab hours which gave students the opportunity to go in and ask him for specific help and he also provided us with a folder that we were able to turn in some quizes for him to look over. In class he would go over it with the individual to see what they did wrong and if they did it correctly he would give us the points we deserved.
He emailed us frequently to keep up with our modules and tell us where we should be at in our course work.
He showed concern by letting them know that they are falling behind, and STRONGLY encouraging them to catch up and stay on schedule with assignments.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes, hes a cool teacher and passes you in many assignments even if you scored low.

funny during class
He knows what he's doing.
Craig knows how to properly teach math.
He explains and gives examples
He was very helpful and always helped you understand the math.
knows math well, easily approachable, simplifies math
Many years of experience. Style of explaining is good, so the material is clear.

The online software in terms of instructions, examples, homework and tests is well done. What is a bit overwhelming is the amount of homework questions for each module/section; sometimes over 30 - 40. In my opinion that is too much, especially having 10 chapters and for each chapter is 2-4 modules.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
none
He would come by and check to see if I got what I was doing and if I didn't, he'd help me solve the problem I was stuck on.
Push those who were behind to catch up.
He answers student e-mails in a couple hours.
He always sent out emails to let us know what is going on and offered assistance.
very supportive
Through mentioning to stay on track (keep to schedule) so all finish on time, assisted every time when questions arose. Quick in response via email as well.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Very organized, clear when teaching, knows about students weakness and tries to reinforce the subject, flexible, and hard working.
He is funny and that makes learnin very fun
structure infused with humor
He is very engaging with his students. He is very good at making a potentially boring course fun.
He's fun & knew the subject well.
He enjoyed teaching and his energy helped us through those evening classes. Good sense of humor most of the time.
he make everything easy to understand
He is a very intelligent teacher and he knows a lot about what he's teaching. He is very knowledgeable and he is clear when he's teaching. If you don't understand, just ask him and he will help you. He replies to his emails, and even text you back if you asked him through text. He is understanding and a fair grader. It is not up to him to grade you, its the quality of work you put in. So if you play around and do not take his class seriously, then you wouldn't like what you'll get. He is the best teacher.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None. He enjoys teaching the class so he works really hard to make students also enjoy it.
Test in this course were difficult due to the limited number of questions. On question answered wrong could cost you a whole letter grade. Many questions on a test were worth 10-12 points on a 100 point test.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
friendly and engaging with everyone
he is really good at math and help students.
He has an ability to get the material through into the students brain and isnt struck up but he has a good sense of humor but is probably the best instructor ive taken at kcc.
As a teacher his major strength is his humor and being able to act like a friend to his students. I really felt comfortable in class and he gives us a lot of opportunities to ask for help if needed in and out of class.
He was very knowledgeable of the subject and I like that he wrote out the steps.
He explains the material really well and he knows exactly what he's talking about. He was able to teach us more efficient ways to solve a problem in order to save time and it also made the material easier to understand. He's not intimidating so if you're having a difficult time with a problem, you feel comfortable to ask for help. He also makes sure that everyone understands the material before moving on to another section/topic.
Thorough and clear enough for students to be able to complete their homework on their own. Funny.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
no
he is an excellent instructor and shows he has a passion for the content he teaches which is why hes such an effective teacher.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
always had time either by text or phone call to help with problems
he help with homework if you have any question by email or call him. he give you a chance sometimes.
he was on you if you skipped classes unlike other teachers. he demonstrated that he really is concerned for your grade and does everything possible to help you pass the course.
He really encourages us to ask for help if we need it. He even gives us his number and email in case we need to get in touch with him. Mr. Inouye also asks if we understand our homework and if not he would go over the subject again and it's really helpful.
He told us our grades and told us if we would do ok in the future.
Before moving on, he'd always ask if we understood or if we needed more examples. He also provided progress reports after each exam so we know exactly where we where at in his class. He always reminded us that if we needed to talk to him, we could either email him, text him or talk to him in person.
By walking around the classroom to check on the student's progress during classwork, and to inform them on what their current grade is.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes hes very good and tries to involve everyone in the class.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Made kids laugh while teaching math. He was positive and active/ energetic. He was never boring.
He is a very good and nice teacher, he teach knowledge is very easy to understand.
He is good at using his humor to teaching math.
His major strengths as a teacher is that he makes the class fun and he explains the course material clearly. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to learn from.
Funny and very familiar with his expertise Makes class interesting He makes math 25 fun and easy to learn
Dude knows his stuff & is entertaining (though trolls a bit)
Mr. Inouye's major strengths as a teacher are his ability to grasp the classes attention as well as making lectures easy to understand step-by-step problems. He is also fair as long as you keep within communication, and is always available to meet students' needs.
His knowledge and ease of which he could talk to the students.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Nothing! He is awesome.
Nothing
nothing
No changes.
None
It's not cool to bring up quizzes at random... or to make them worth as much as [ALL] the homework. Also, homework- a tad too much in a relatively short amount of time. He could possibly have a "sample" test (like how we were given the "sample" final) for each chapter, to go over on the class before the exam, so trickier problems (that we RARELY go over) won't sneak up & slaughter a couple thousand brain cells (as well as a couple 15 points).
I do not have any suggestions for Mr. Inouye.
It's not really anything to do with Craig. This was marketed as a lecture based course. It kinda was, but much was left up to you the student and a math lab courseware. Also, I was told that this was kind of a one topic per class course. It seemed that the course just steamrolled on in a continuous fashion and if the student got behind due to they did not understand then it was too bad. Not that it was crisis fault but mores it seems that making sure the students all understood and were keeping up before moving on is now lost art of teaching.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He would email you. He would have sheets of your work and scores to clarify why you have such grades.
He always query students which question is difficult for us to understand, that he can help us explain.
He showed concern by asking us if we understood how to do the problem and helped us if we needed it.
Gives advise whether to drop out or study more so that students don't get an F grade.
By offering help; ex) reminding us of office hours, being available at the tutoring center, etc.
Mr. Inouye is able to show concern for students by allowing students to contact him via cellphone, and does ask students about their absence.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes! I RECOMMEND HIM. He's funny, cool, and energetic. You're never bored in his class.
Yes, because he teach knowledge for people is very easy to understand.
I think he is really good at teaching math, I will absolutely recommend him to my friends.
Yes, because the class is fun and easy to learn from him. He knows the subject at hand very well.
Yes, his class is fun and he teaches really good!
Sure!
Yes I would recommend Craig Inouye to students because his lectures and instructions are easy to follow and if a student needs more clarification then he will break it down to even more simpler terms. Aside from his ability to produce comprehensive lectures and instructions, he is fair as long as you let him know about any absences.
Craig, yes. This form of class, no.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
thank you for you help
He is a great teacher and has a fun and interesting class.
Use the same teaching technique by making it fun and not boring!
Cool guy, bless.
He is a great math instructor that I would like to continue working alongside throughout higher math courses!

Great class.
The room smells like something died in it. Does not do him or the class justice. For the sake of future students, possibly relocate the class.
Very unfortunate that it seems that so much is left up to the student in this course. It seems almost that the teacher is no longer a teacher in the traditional sense, but more as a loose guide and attendance taker. So much is left up to the Mathlab. It seems the student almost has to teach themselves a hefty portion of what is being learned. And if they student gets behind or is struggling, then it seems that lost are the days when the teacher had more of a proactive roll in ensuring all students were up on the same page.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Patience and clear lessons. Provides you with the tools you need to succeed in the course.
He has good common sense. He is also good at quickly recognizing when or where you need help.
Understanding, patient, clear, knowledgeable, lenient, and nice.
He was always early so I was able to come in and ask questions and he was easy to talk to. Towards the end of the course I was going through a tough time at home, and he understood.
He explained the subject and content well. Answered questions to the best of his ability. Was a fun teacher
Mr. Annoy knew what he was talking about which made the material fun to learn.
Funny
His class was easy to understand.
He is very fun, easy-going, and has a good sense of humor. He is approachable - very easy to ask questions without feeling shame. Math is one of the subjects I struggle with and I'm actually doing pretty well in his class. This is the first time I've been able to understand the material and do well on tests/quizzes!
Mr. Inouye was able to expalin each chapter in ways everyone could understand. Everyone learns differently.
An understanding of the student POV in learning new math concepts, and anticipation of problems and common mistakes. Clear, concise instruction.
Mr. Inouye understands that we are struggling in math and with that approaches the class without the frustration of a professor expecting full comprehension.
can really explain math good, better than other math teachers so far.
Mr. Inouye is an excellent Math 25 instructor. He really knows the material well and is always willing to help his students succeed in math. He doesn't give extra credit, which i think really makes his students learn something instead of just passing Math 25 by doing EC.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
no changes.
Teach Higher Math also :)
none
Not be abusive and not make students feel bad for not understanding!
None.
None. Loved the class!
None that I could think of.
teach more classes in the afternoon
This course really helped me to learn math, but the only thing I would suggest is giving your students worksheets for each chapter to prepare for exams. You gave us worksheets for the last chapter and final; you should do that for each section as well.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Always offering to help via email, phone, or in person.
He was always encouraging students to reach him outside of class if help was ever needed through e-mail, cell phone, mathlab, etc.
He goes around asking us if we have any questions. He explains the concepts and material to the best of his ability to students who are having trouble understanding. He tells his students to contact him through email or by phone if we have trouble doing the homework assignments.
He always checked up on each and everyone of us in class and before we took the final he made sure we knew how much points we needed to get the grade we wanted to achieve in his class.
Went over grades and explained what you needed to get to get certain grades toward the end of the term. Reminded about drop deadline. Kept you up to date about grades and was available when help was needed.
He offers his help during and after class.
he just said go get tutoring.
We could contact him by e-mail, text, and phone. After every test, I got my grade. It was really useful to know what I achieved.
He made it easy for us to contact him if we needed help outside of class. If I ever needed help on a homework assignment, I would contact him and get a response promptly.
He'd always make sure that everyone understood the material learned that day before we left class. If we needed help out of class he promptly replied through email.
Yes, a genuine concern and willingness to assist anyone who has difficulty in this class and needs to keep up.
mr. Inouye made himself available via email and cellphone any time of day. so if you couldn't get to your homework until late at night and got stuck on a question you could text him your problem and he would respond with guidance.
he checked up on students constantly.
He is willing to help his students both in class and outside of class. He goes over any problems we need help with on homework, quizzes and exams..which I think is very helpful.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Absolutely! He made math fun again!
Yes, he made math bearable.
Yes I would because he is a nice teacher and is very good at explaining the concepts to his students.
Yes, this is my first class in college and I enjoyed it. I don't even like math but he made it easier to understand. He is a good teacher. Ive heard stories of other bad math teachers here at KCC and he was nothing like them.
Yes, Explains content well and makes Math fun.
Yes I would.
Yes, He is not an easy teacher but he'll do his best to teach the material barney style to everyone, making the material much easier to learn.
Yes he's a good teacher overall
Yes.
Yes, I would definitely recommend him to other students. He makes math fun and easy to learn!
Yes I most definitely would. I'm not a math fan, if I could choose, I wouldn't take it. But he made math very fun and exciting to learn.
Yes, Craig Inouye's presence in Math 24 and Math 25 allows for an opportunity for interested student to have a strong foundation before moving up into Math 103 or 100.
I highly recommend Mr. Inouye to struggling math students. He can't make the math any easier, but he does provide the support and learning environment you will need to learn, comprehend, and master the material.
yes i would because best at explaining things. makes it funny. never bored
I would definitely recommend him to other students because for those who is bad at math, he really explains things so you understand and he is so hilarious. He makes class fun to go to and never a boring day goes by in his class.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
So far he was the only math instructor that I was able to really learn from here at KCC. The others made me feel like I was supposed to know the material already and was not helpful but intimidating.
Keep up the good work!
Awesome class!
This guy has a good atmosphere to learn in, there are no dull boring days. He has a "American" accent (easy to understand). I have never seen anyone fall asleep in his class.
Don't pick on kids who dont understand math, your a teacher for a reason. You're here to help us understand math if we don't get it maybe you should think of a different approach.
He's good fun.
I'd just really like to thank him for making math 25 exciting. I was preparing myself for a boring lecture class with homeworks and tests I just couldn't understand.
He is a charismatic teacher that brings his personality and liveliness as a part of his teaching style - it makes for a class where active participation is encourage and the student feed off his enthusiasm.
he is the best at what he does. i am taking summer school and passing because of him. i would have a failed if it was any other teacher. his timing and procedure is good
He gives tons of multiply choice question on exams which is good for me because I have a 50/50 chance of getting things right if I eliminate 2/4 choices. He also puts 17-18 questions on exams which I think saves us time, but the problems ain't easy. You really need to study if you expect to maintain a B for the course.
18. Other comments:
Keep up the Great work and continue to motivate students to learn math not hate math.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
-Allows us to engage in math assignments -Creates a fun and exciting atmosphere that allows students more active and comfortable in the classroom. -Funny and engaging -Always keeps us on line by reminding us what would happened if we didn't turn in homework or dont study or even participate as a group.
very neat, well organized and fare.
- Explaining the material - Willing to help outside of class - Made class enjoyable - Going over previous mistakes with the whole class so the same ones are not made again
made sure we understood the task at hand, prepared us well for the final, very engaging
Explaining the material and allowing students to better understand
His major strength as a teacher is how he makes it a priority for us to get in touch with him outside of class.
He keeps students on their toes!
Craig's major strengths as a teacher would be that he's organized
Good teaching and funny
He was really nice. He teaches very well. He gives a good autmosphere when teaching, make it feel like it's okay to ask questions to figure out things clearly.
He was extremely approachable, he made class fun I felt like everyone in my class were just old friends hanging out talking about math. When he was instructing us I felt like I wanted to listen he really did a good job of drawing me in
He knows how to show the formula of an equation very clearly.
He always made sure that we understand something before moving on. He always stay late after class to make sure we get stuff.
Organized, patient, flexible, makes math easy to understand, easy to communicate with in or out of class
His class was very engaging, even though it was small, I know that we were all interested in learning from him.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
No changes.
Nothing Keep up the GREAT work!
None
none
Nothing
When students ask questions, try not to make them feel stupid
No changes
Picks on students too much
I wouldn't make any changes.
none! great job!

nothing he was a great teacher
Let students turn in homework late, instead of receiving a complete 0.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
-He consistently asks us questions. - Asks our future and what we are doing to prepare for it -He brought in a counselor that would help our future
If we are failing he would help and or highly suggest to get help and or drop before it's too late.
Always willing to help students outside of class and answered email in a timely manner.
was available to contact outside of class (through email and phone)
By letting us know that he was always available to help outside of class if students were having trouble with the work
He gave us cell number, his email, and he made it clear for us to call him whenever we had a question to ask him. He took the time to teaching us the material if we didn't understand what we were doing, or if we were stuck with something.
He would email if you didnt show up to class
By telling us to improve our grades and do homework and study.....
Yes, sometimes
He would sometimes email students.
We had homework given to use on line on a cite called my math lab. If we needed help there was a "ask my instructor button" Craig always got back to me fast if I was having a problem, and more than willing to go over it one on one with me if I needed additional help after class.
He always emailed us about the changes in schedules and he reaches out to those who need help.
He would talk to us , if we were having a hard time. He always made us our class was on the same page.
He gave us progress reports frequently, to show us how we were doing after crucial tests and exams. Anytime, he or we thought we needed more help, he was quick to resolve it.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
-Yes, because he teaches the course subject pretty well and allows us to think more than what the subject is given. - Makes sure we don't fail
Yes, Do the work, pass the class. Not doing homework will fail you quickly. If you ask questions, he will answer them, plain and simple. He gives you his email, work, and cell phone # to help you. If you fail this class, it's because you didn't make any effort.
Yes, because he was always willing to put in the extra time to help students understand the course material and very good explaining course material.
Yes! Trust me you wont fall asleep in his class
Yes because he is a great teacher
Yes I would, I say Yes because I learned a lot.
ummmmmm....... possibly if their up for the challenge & arent serious when getting joked on
Half and half because he's a great teacher, but sometimes he doesn't explain a certain area carefully.
Yes, very good teacher and funny
Yes, he's a good teacher. He teaches well & made learning more fun.
Yes I feel like this course could have been a lot harder had it not been for his support and extra help.
Yes, because he can be understood easily.
I would , because he was a teacher that could relate to us. He made class fun but he also taught the lesson plans well.
Yes. He's a great teacher.
Yes, he makes learning math easier than most teachers do.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
- Funny -Engaging -Creates a positive atmosphere
Even though his class is mostly self taught, its still interesting learning from him. He is a fun teacher to have because of the crude jokes he makes and cares to help you if you're stuck on something. Highly recommended to take this class
Great Teacher
Awesome teacher! Really enjoyed taking his class. Never a dull moment.
Your super funny, and all in all your a good professor
nothing
He is a good teacher.
Craig Inouye is by far the best teacher I have ever had hands down. I wish more educators were as dedicated to their students education as he is.
He is very helpful. And he also can entertain a class very well.
Thank you so much for taking your time , and helping me understand the problem . I know I was a trouble student but you really took your time and help me become a better student.
He was probably one of my best math teachers.

Thanks for the awesome semester!
no
As I said, Craig is a good teacher. He is a fun, educational and kind. I sometimes wish that I didn't take his kindness for granted. I wish that I went to class everyday and got the points that I knew that I can get. Though, I guess my lazzyness and unmotivated self couldn't get to class or get the assignment done. Therefore, I am not doing all too well in this class. A C grade is okay, but I feel that I could be doing way better if I put more effort into his class. He is great and I encourage students to take him in the upcoming semesters. I hope he knows that I'm greatful for his teachings. Your awesome, Criag.

He's a very understanding teacher. As long as you put an effort in your education, he'll always be there if you have any questions.
friendly knows his material well and very organized and fair
He knows Math
He's very open minded and kind he allows his students to work through their problems.

He's nice, funny and also a great teacher if you need the help.
Easy to talk too. Gets along with students well. Very professional. Good person.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
I hated how math 24 is set up. Who learns on line with a power point and videos. I would never pass if I did not have a tutor. I spent so many hrs outside of class just to learn 24. I paided for this class and it sucked with no licture
Nothing.
Nothing.
None
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He provides teaching actively while he found confusion on students faces.
He would always check up on his students daily. He never wants to see his students fail when he knows they have potential to pass.
always walks around talking to each students encouraging them to push forward and finish with a good great and gives out tips
Well he is coming in early so I can take my final. The setting for tests is the worse I have ever seen
He used to remind us what we need to focus on and take our time!
He would walk around regularly and ask if we were okay. He also did binder checks at least once every other week to meet one on one with his students on how we were doing.
Answers to questions where answered by email very quickly.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, he is friendly and answer students quickly. The whole team of maths dept I met in the maths lab are nice and helpful.
YES! Because he's awesome. Hard to find teachers like this now a days. And he's chill.
yes great teacher and very friendly.
Guys yes. He thinks woman are stupid. He made a few comments I did not like and I spoke up. You don't put down a student in fromt of other students
He's a good teacher and he's friendly and encouraging.
For sure! He's great at explaining things clearly and helps as much as he can.

Yes. Good teacher who is fair and easy to communicate with.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Awesome teacher, funny, chill, helpful, understanding.

Not everyone gets math. I am not stupid if this is not my thing. I bet I can a lot of things he can not. A good teacher can teach any student. Not the other way around. I don't think he understands that everyone does not get math I worked by butt off to pass this class
He's a great teacher.
Nothing else.
Enjoyed his class very much. Thank you for all your help. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
18. Other comments:
No but I would never recommend this way of learning to anyone. We pay for this class and I feel like I need my money back so that I can pay my tutor he taught me and because of his help I am going to pass this class and math.... Do you want his name and he would be the best teacher ever.. Patient and kind
I usually don't enjoy math, but I did this course.

He is knowledgable of his subject. He teaches the class very well and he shows us materials that can make the homework much more easier.
He always provided a clear set of rules to follow for each section and for the first time in my academic career I am getting an A in math.
He is available at all times to help students He makes math fun by providing fun jokes He is very organized and provides the material we need to practise for our exams He continues to believe in the students even if someone (me) did not do so well on the exams. He truly cares. He is a perfect teacher in every way
His strengths are his explanations for the math assignments. He uses his own techniques which he found more easier, better for the students, yet effective for the students. He is quite knowledgeable how to find his own techniques which are more effective than the text book and online assignments.
Knows what he is doing. Teaches math well.

More time to learn the materials
the course can be very unforgiving at times. im not suggesting that you make the class a cakewalk, i think that the difficulty is a good thing, its just that there should be more ways to raise youre grade. if you foul up a few times in a row its possible to flunk out pretty early on in the semester.
He should count all late works.
Nothing. Everything was understandable throughout the course.
Nothing
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He shows a lot of concern for his class. You can talk to him, email him, or call him if you have any problems with the material. Ask him any question and he'll be happy to answer them.
He always made himself available to us outside of class and encouraged us to talk to him if we didn't understand or needed extra help.
He is available at all times outside of class, through email, phone and appointment. He repeat math assignments that he know that we have trouble with to make us practise.
He would speak to each student individually about each concern for them to pass or how to know how to prepare for upcoming tests.
Answered many of the questions the students asked him.
asks us if we need help with homework or class discussion before and after class.
He always made time to help his students in and out of class.
he let us turn in late hw and offered help if needed
always made himself available to the students if they needed help.
He would always ask if there are any questions about the homework and test that students have and he would explain how the problem worked.
He gave us this extra credit and other things.

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He did little things like walk around class when we have class work. He checked to see if everyone was doing alright.
If you missed class he would ask you where you are and you can always call, text, or email any concerns you have about the course or if you are going to miss class
he gives grade checks, and talks to students if they need help with school work.
He wouldn't really show concern, but he would sometimes go up to me and say that you need to turn in assignments or I need to get a good grade on the upcoming test or quiz.
Craig helped each student learn any problem that they would not understand so he would do examples to help students out. When grades would be presented, he would let the students know what they did wrong and what could be done better the next time.
You could always email him if you had questions
He showed you concern by answering any question you had about that subject and broke it down for you so you can understand it
YES!!!!
He always asked the class if we had any questions, and we'd review the previous lesson before we move on to the next lesson.

One of his strengths as a teacher are his lectures. It's best to take notes and do the examples he writes on the board. Another strength is that he encourages us to ask questions on the homework, quizzes, or exams. Giving us homework on mymathlab and the textbook is a strength of his and doinng the work as well as studying helps us prepare for his exams and unannounced quizzes.
Mr. Inouye is a great teacher. He explains everything thoroughly and made it easy for the student to understand. He is a very cool guy. I Like the being in class because he made learning math enjoyable.

He relates to his students in the learning process and also keeps us very engaged in class by the things he says. He teaches in a very good way where we all can understand him and the topic. He goes at a good pace where are able to learn everything while covering what he need to cover.
As a teacher Craig is able to connect with the class as more than just a teacher. He conducted class in a way that was fun to attend, which is especially hard because of the materials that are required to be taught. No one wants to learn trinomial long division...
He is able to break down the chapter of our current section and gives examples of how to get the solution. He is willing to give help individually for the people who asks.
He knows the subject really well, and he helps students understand the material.
He's willing to take extra time to explain a concept, and he is willing to offer help outside of class. He cracks some jokes once in a while to keep us awake and make us enjoy the lesson.

Although there are many laughs in class, Professor Inouye is maintains a highly professional profile. When it comes to his lesson he is very clear and thorough. He insists any and all questions to be asked and makes himself available even after classroom room hours.
Mr. Inouye is a great teacher. He's very knowledgeable with the subject.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?

offered tutoring after class, one on one out side of classroom, would go back over individual problems till student understood
After each test each individual would get a fully revised grade status sheet
He checks the homework and looks for difficult problems to demonstrate so us, the students would have a greater understanding for the process.
email
He would always answer any questions and keep in contact with the students.
He showed concern for students by always mentioning if we needed help with anything just ask, or if their was any problems on our homework he would do it for us and explain to us how to do it before we turn in our homework.
He would go over any problem in class if someone asked him to. And always reminded student of upcoming assignments due.
To my knowledge he had sent emails to students that are not doing well in class. But it is up to the student to take his advice.
by always being available
He always ask which part of the homework we are having difficulty, and he always go over it in the class. He always encourage us to ask questions.

A lot. Just had to call or email or go to his office.
Never really needed to during my time in his class. There wasn't really anything to be concerned for.
one incident with a couple of students got into a argument, where the class felt uncomfortable. Immediately the next class both of them were accommodated to other classes separately.
He always made sure students understood the math problems from our Homework before we turned it in. If we didn't understand it, He would do the problem on the board.
.
He keeps telling us what to do and not to do with math problems.
The way he shows concern for us students is by making jokes and tells us what most students struggle on and what we should be more careful about from other past students mistakes.
He is very willing to meet up and listen to any questions.
He offers help.
always available to answer questions.
He encourage students to ask questions.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
he knows the course material very well and is able to explain it to us in a way that we are able to understand and remember it all.
He knows his math very well, and knows how to teach the students.
He knows the subject very well and presents it in a way that is very easy for students to understand. He's good at engaging students and keeps class interesting, without ever going off-topic.
He explained the material clearly, and in multiple ways so that everyone would be able to understand.
His charisma and caring for students as a teacher is what made his class fun and enjoyable.
He knows all the math formulas and stuff. I don't think there is a problem that he can't do.
He really knew what he was teaching and was able to joke around with us which made going to class a lot more fun.
His strengths as a teacher was that he knew the material very well.
I like his teaching style.
his teaching methods were clear. funny guy.
Very approachable with a fun attitude. Made even a math class interesting to attend.
Explains everything really well! great teacher!
He made it easy to understand math and always reviews and goes over what ever we need help on, which is very helpful.
Entertaining. He knows the material really well.
he knew was he was talking about and could explain and give great examples
He is a very enthusiastic math teacher that really knows his field. The way he teaches is very effective and when you leave the class you leave feeling prepared. A great teacher overall, I would recommend him if you want a strong math background.
KNows the subject well, and teaches it in the most simple way possible.
He gives really good notes and step by step instructions on how to solve each type of problem. He is well organized and there were no surprises as far as deadlines. His main strength is his sense of humor. A little laughter goes a long way in a 7:45 class.
the way he teaches the material. And if we need help or have any questions he would help us with them. Another major strength as a teacher is that he would prepare us students for the exams,
Craig Inouye, has a lot of strength being a teacher. He's a great instructor and I hope he'd teach Math 100. He's got a great personality and humor and knows what he is doing; he makes sure the his students are understanding the course as clear as he does. He's fair when it comes to gradings and exams, good with giving our your average grade after a test and know how well you are doing, and encourages you to study and puts in time for outside class help. As for his outside class communication, he's prompt with it and responds immediately. Makes learning fun.
knew subject being taught
He teaches it where it's easier to understand.
He shows the problem step by step and explains it well. He gives ways to memorize things in an easier way.
Everything about math 25. He knows the easy way as well, but started the hard way so we'd understand
He is a very funny teacher and his writing is neat and legible. Many students like to come to class where they feel comfortable with the instructor and is more likely to learn.
He knows the material and willing to help
Clarity during his lessons and knowledge of material along with a funny outlook
Mr. Inouye made Math 25 "fun." He explained everything very clearly and I was able to understand the concepts he taught. Mr. Inouye is the BEST Math teacher I have ever had!
Craig Inouye made learning fun. Most of the times class went by smoothly and here and there he would crack up a few jokes or two to keep us focused and not let of mind escape elsewhere.
Craig Inouye strength as a teacher is he knows the math area really well and he taught the students math 25 really well.
He was able to make math fun even though math is not a fun subject.
He knew what he was talking about. He explained everything step by step.
experience, knowledge, accessibility, willingness to help
He knows the subject very well.
He knows how to explain the material in a way that everyone can understand and goes over different ways than what is explained in the book which is really helpful.
He's is very humorous and can relate to his students well. He cares about students passing, doing well, and being prepared for whatever is ahead. He doesn't beat around the bush, so his class is very straight forward and to the point.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
I like how he has everything schedualed and always has everything on time.
Nah, no need change. stay as is!
Teach slower. It's hard to remember everything when the subject changes from class to class.
None, I really liked his class the way it is :)
none
nothing
more questions on quizzes.
Write bigger on the board, if possible. I couldn't see a lot of the numbers because my eyes aren't perfect.
none
Maybe have Thursday be the day when there's two homework Assignments do there's more time to complete it.
more extra credit if students are having a hard time in class.
dont review new things before one of the quizes
Perhaps make a more lenient grading method? if not then I think he is perfect as is.

None.
None
Teach Math 100.
none
Nothing, good teacher, very organized, and very clear.
None
None, stay funny
Slow down on material and be more thorough with the harder materials.
no changes
None
Perhaps to allow personal time for students that don't understand the material or need a better understanding from the chapter. A lot of us went to math tutoring, but everyone has a different way of teaching something. The way Craig would teach it, would be the way the students knew about. Learning a different method could possibly cause confusion.
My suggestion is always stay funny because you entertain the class and keep teaching math well. Also, keep your voice down lol....
Some times his jokes are not funny. He might need to come up with some new ones.
Be able to retake a quiz
none
Slow down course work. It's always at a fast pace and I understand that we only have a short amount of time to cover course work but I think he should slow down a bit when it comes to explaining.
I would suggest that he maybe announce his office hours to the class a little more. But he already has it posted on the syllabus and is very helpful in class as it is.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
is prompt in answering emails when we have questions and also does the same in class when we have questions.
He gave us a sheet every other week letting us know our grades and how we were doing.
Available at any time to help students with homework through email, and responds with answers in a timely manner (an hour or two, as opposed to some who respond in a day or two, when help usually isn't needed because the assignment was already due).
He warned students of upcomming deadlines.
Always asking questions, making sure they understand the material before moving on to the next step.
He informs his students of test grades and answers their questions clearly and completely.
He's really quick at returning homework and tests, if we had a test coming up we could hold on to the homework to help us study if we needed it. Also is very easy to contact to ask for help. Besides his e-mail, he gives out his number to his students so we can ask for help or let him know in advance if we'll be absent that day. All the partial credit he gives helped me a lot too >.<;;;
He showed concern for his students by encouraging his students to do extra problems if they need it.
he ask many questions.
giving us reality checks for the class and being honest.
Always asked students whether they had trouble or questions on homework. Made announcements and questioned even about work done for math lab which was easier to forget about.
asking questions
He always ask if we need to go over anything and works on assignments in class with us.
He gave us our grades to help us see what we needed to wirk on or do in order to pass the class
he would go over our grades frequently and ask us if we had any questions
He reminds students that he is available and when I needed help he was more than willing to come by and help. He was able to help me over the phone and that itself was awesome of Mr. Inouye. He is felxibale and willing to help the student if the student needed assistance.
Made himself available outside of class.
He made sure to make time in class to answer any questions students had.
He would give us different types of examples regarding the chapter.
Craig Inouye shows a lot of concern for his students; he encourages students to do their best and helps them with questions.
was always there for any one who needed help, always asked if we needed help.
yes, lets us know how were doing, telling us what we should or shouldnt do.
He would walk around class while working on problems and help you. Work on some homework problems in class so it is less work for us to do at home.
He would help you when you're lost in and outside of class. And would ask if there are any questions in the quiz, test, homework, classwork, etc...
He printed out progress reports frequently to manage the grading for each student.
yeah
Encourage all students to do their best each and every homework, quiz, and test. Talk to the class before and after the quizzes and tests to help students understand how they are doing and where they stand on the course.
He gave advice and is very honest with his students
By listing his number on the syllabus. We were able to call and ask questions if we needed to. Towards the ending of the semester, he handed out worksheets regarding a specific chapter we were working on and encouraged us to use the worksheets like tests and to first try and work the problems out then to check it. rather then looking at notes, and taking our time to solve each problem. Because on the test, that's not allowed.
Well he show it in a funny way, but i know that he really cares about the students grade by telling the students who are borderline to either withdraw or sign up for no credit, credit, but even though you withdraw he still wants the students to stay in class to learn the rest of the course materials.
I'm sure if he showed much concern for students, but always told us our academic standing in the class, and tell us to come in to get help
he gave us grade sheets that explained what we were missing. and what we can do to improve our grade
answered and assisted all students in and out of class
He gives reviews on our grades at the end of every quiz we have which to me shows concern.
He would explain the questions that he thought everyone would have a hard time with and give review sheets to help us better understand the subject.
He always gives reminders to his students before, during, and after class, about the subject or things happening amongst KCC. He explains why dropping a course to avoid a W is helpful, and also advises students who dropped out to still attend class so they'll be prepared the next time around.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes, i learned a lot in his class and also enjoyed myself most of the time
YES! Because he explains Algebra in understandable terms.
Sure. He does joke around a lot. His jokes aren't too offensive either. He knows his limit in joking to where it won't harm anyone's feelings to the extreme. It does make the class become familiar what they're professor is like. It gives character. If students are able to see the way their professor is, they might not be so scared to ask questions or to joke around themselves.

He's a very funny teacher, he lightens up the mood when in class, but hes also sarcastic but hes cool.
He is probably one of, or if not, the best college instructor I have had in the three semesters I've been at KCC. He is full of personality and knows what he is doing for sure.
