BEST teacher ever. There's a reason why I took his class twice in a row and looking forward to finishing up my degree with his IP courses that he offers. I think he is a great scholar and a hardworking individual who knows what he's talking about.

The best teacher at UH Manoa. Forces you to think critically and will motivate you to make a difference in the world. Everyone should take a class similar to this.

Followed the class schedule really good, and also provided time outside of class to meet with you. The overall communication was good but the only down side was he didn't reply to some emails. But that not to say my email wasn't answered by another professor.

I really enjoyed this class and his teaching style is so different but i really liked that about it. I love that this class was all about deep thinking, debates, sharing of experiences and thoughts, making connections, and everything all connected.

Best teacher and best class I've ever taken in my entire academic life! I wish there were more teachers like Jeff out there.

This class made me think outside of the box. I really enjoyed this class!

Jeffrey Acido's IP 398 course was one of the most amazing classes that I have taken to date as a student here in the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (UHM). I really think that more classes like his should be offered at UHM. His way of leading the class provides his students the opportunity to teach the class through discussion and debate. Acido's class has also made me appreciate my culture and family. For this, I'm very thankful for having this class offered at UHM for both my personal and intellectual growth. I think that the amount of work assigned for this class was fairly given. However, I think that Acido should have a more transparent grading system. It would also be helpful if he provided a syllabus in the beginning of class for those students who start the semester off better with a hard copy of the guidelines and expectations of the class. Other than these notes, I really enjoyed the class and would recommend it to many others! :)

the best class in the whole university of hawaii system.

Very fun class! Really broadened my knowledge of the subject and provided a different perspective on a subject that has not gotten the attention it deserves. I would definitely consider taking it again.

This class was AWESOME! I really enjoyed everything that we learned and it helped me learn things about myself and my culture. The class made me think about things that were really deep and at times, difficult to answer. I really wish we had more time together, but it was fun while it lasted! :)

The course as well as the instructor makes you want to learn. Jeff is very passionate about what he teaches in the classroom and it shows. Im glad i took this class because i have more knowledge and more understanding of my culture. I appreciate who i am as a person and where i come from as well as my parents. This class is life-changing :)

Class structure is effective and well organized. Content was relevant to everything that was covered. I believe we all took more than just knowledge from this course that we are able to apply to our daily lives; really enjoyable class.

Out of all the years I've been at UHM this class, by far, really pushed me mentally and opened my eyes about my "identity"!! Please give Jeff a raise! His procedures in conducting class time is engaging and interactive! I've never cried in a class yet love it at the same time with a passion!!

Jeff was a phenomenal teacher. He would teach us so much in a little amount of time. I learned a lot about pop culture and the ways it has affected my culture and other cultures in society. Excellent class! I recommended all of my friends to take this class because I believe my whole perspective on life changed so much just from this teacher. I hope he will be able to teach more classes in the future because I would love to take another class from him.

Manong Jeff was able to help us all respect and gain trust for every individual in the classroom. All of us were able to mirror parts of our existence into information from every class meeting discussion. The short clips, films and articles that were brought up in the class all facilitated us to gain more of an understanding about the Filipino culture.

I must say this is one of the best class I have ever taken. Jeff is still a young teacher and really relates to us students and is still fun to learn from. He is very enthusiastic and passionate in what he teaches and has us really thinking about things.I have learned so many things from this class and shared alot of ideas with my classmates. Class discussions have been powerfuland has inspired all of us to appreciate the Ilokano culture more.

I loved this course. It really gave me a better understanding about the Ilokano culture and how pop culture influences everything that we do, even culture. This class actually opened my mind to events that not only deal with class, but to the outside world. This class was a great learning experience and i would gladly take it again or take a class with this professor.

Jeffrey is an awesome guy that inspires students to think critically and to try their hardest. He brings a burst of energy and happiness to the classroom making it an enjoyable environment.

This was a very interesting class. It is very different from other lecture classes that I have taken. It put a lot of things about Filipino pop culture into perspective and has opened my mind about other issues as well. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone interested in learning about society as well as culture.

Jeffrey is an excellent teacher who knows his stuff. He always gives good examples and has that willingness to teach his best to get through his students. Jeff demonstrates the best while teaching.
