13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?
I liked the fact that I was actually being taught by a person who had been and still participates in the Carpentry trade. It makes learning from him much more effective and relevant in my eyes.
What I liked about the class was the projects we did. I enjoyed building the practical's. I also liked the when the instructor talked about his life experiences with carpentry.
the groups projects and practicals was really helpful. they helped gain hands on experience on how to construct concrete forms. it helped a lot that mr. harada had great knowledge and tricks of the trade from his past experiences in construction.
The thing i like about this course is that we learned hands on activities such as building concrete for work. I learned a lot in this course that i never knew before.
i like how the practicals are pretty realistic. for me its the best way to learn
i liked all the practicals we did. it helped me learn new things about construction.
I like everything about this course because I learn new things each and everyday. He makes the hands on projects fun and clear with instructions. It is a fun class and I learn a lot of things. The assignment is well to do meaning that its not to easy and not too hard which is challenging because some things I already know and the others I am still learning. I always learn from my mistake and he is patient with my work ethics because I am faced with new things.
For this course I like everything that we do especially the hands on project. The project we do for this course is design for us as a student to feel the basic skill that we need for our next journey. Mr. Harada is well effective to show what is to be done on the project. Mr. Harada is a GREAT TEACHER.
I like the learning experience we had while doing the practical assignments. I also liked the hands on work we've done of constructing a landing pad, sidewalk and driveway for the #48 Model home in Keaukaha. The feeling of looking at the end result makes me want to do more.
good planned schedules and progressive days
Open my eyes to the world of construction.
14. Any suggestions to improve this course?
Overall I see no real need to improve just that he continues to do the same quality of teaching he has been doing up to this point.
I have no suggestion for improving the course.
it would help if we got plans or rough sketches of the practicals that we needed to construct. it would give us one better visualization of what needed to be done.
No suggestion at all
Everything is good and I know he is doing his best to do his job and to be patient with others that are new to carpentry type of work

13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?
What I like about the course is that it simulates a real job site, and gives you the actual hands on experience especially with the model home project done with the drafting course. The course lets you learn about the process in getting a construction project ready for building, but you also get to learn how to interact and work with others in different situations, and help each other to make sure your finished product comes out right.
the instructors are very knowlegable and they explain the course well and teach at a level that is approprate for the enviorment. I would recomend this course with these instructors to anyone. Thank you for sharing your knowlege with me.. Aloha Odell
EVERYTHING!!!!!

I would recomend this class to anyone, I also recomend that students do NOT miss any class time, easy to fall behind...
i would change nothing but thank you for staying in class after hours and helping and supporting us with projects that we were behind on.
nothing. Gene Harada is clearly a superior when it comes to teaching carpentry.
If i were teaching the course i wouldn't do much but the same as the instructor taught me.
Perhaps, try and schedule a class visitation to a union job site where form work is being done for visualization
nothing. thank you Mr.harada you are a great teacher.
nothing would be needed to change.Everything was meet in class
20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?
stern but very effective.
His teaching methods are very effective
i think he is a great teacher and he has taught me alot
it is very good I learned alot in this class, he is a very good teacher
n/a
i think your teaching methods are The Bomb!!! You really helped me with my work wthics and my attitude toward my fellow classmates.
interesting and challenging.
The instructors teaching methods is something rare when taking classes. It requires you to think. Instead of giving you the answer off the back. The instructor makes you think what the answer would be when dealt with different situations and problems. In lectures, the instructor tends to drift to different topics, but it's not all bad, because it still pretains to the subject of the major. So for that matter its like killing two birds with one stone. A little bonus on the side. But overall great teaching methods.
Mr. Harada is a very effective teacher who is dedicated to assuring his students get the most out of his class, including maturing to be able to succeed in the future. He is very easy to approach with questions or personal situations.
Thanks Mr.
old school, but its pretty nuts!
Very good teaching methods are demonstrated daily. I really like how the cousre is set up to simulate an actual industry work place where all the key requirements to succeed in the real job are praticed. Such practices are Being on time, following directions, team work, and many others. Also a good in addtion is how every week each student in the class is rotated on certain tasks for the week in which they play the role of a foreman. This is very good to boost responsibility, and to prepare one for situations which are stressful.
His methods are really good.very easy to understand everything he teaches u.
21. Has he/she contributed to your general knowledge or to learning job skills?
Very much so. I have gained a lot more knowledge since i have entered his program
Yes
of course he did
Yes, he has tought me alot, and i want to learn more see you next semester

Yes I feel that he helped me to learn more about my carpentry skills.
he has contributed alot to my experience in the field of work inside and outside of class.
Absolutely, and because of the many ways we are shown of how this field works and how to be successful in it.
yes i have learned a lot from his class.everything from concrete to what contractors expect from a worker
