| Understanding different theories and perspective of cultures and how we view them. Kelli's presentation and lectures were great. Films well selected. |
| Just to clarify - I could not learn to value new viewpoints because the material was all new to me, in other words, I wasn't comparing new to old, it was all new. What I did find most valuable was the fact that Kelli expertly presented both (or multiple) sides to every viewpoint she presented. Her expert ability to take a neutral position and allow me to consider what made the most sense to me was heroic given the strong opinions that exist within the field of study. Not many people with strong opinions of their own are able to do this so well. I hope she will continue to be as open minded towards her students learning process throughout her career, it is a true gift. Her slides were well presented and interesting, plus they were posted so I could go back and study them - this was a huge help in learning new material. Her lectures were engaging and the questions she asked made me think. |
| Professor Swazey really took the time to help us understand everything. even when someone asked
a lot of questions on something minor, she showed her knowledge and helped explain it in great
detail until that person understood the topic. |
| I liked all of the in class discussion we had. I found them very useful especially when doing my own reflections of class material in the response papers. |

| Because of where I sat, I was placed in a small group that contained the same two people every time. This particular little group had some personality issues, so I would have enjoyed not being placed in the same group every time. Of course, I could have avoided that particular grouping on my own by remembering to sit elsewhere, but it never occurred to me that I should have moved until I was placed in the small group with the same two people again... |
