8. What did you like least about your online course experience?

It's hard to understand the laws that come with income tax returns, but it has nothing to do with the teacher. This material is just hard at times. N/A N/A Nothing in particular. The exam ahoukd take twice not only once. i have the live class He barely use PowerPoints when discussing in class. What I liked least about my online course experience was that the deadlines were somewhat intense. Theres nothing that I like least about my online class. The teacher speaks in a monotone way in class. I hate the fact that the class is in the afternoon. In addition, the teacher gives big packets of income tax preparation, which we barely used in class. Online course requires double amount of time than in class. proffesor is very nice Nothing to do with the course itself, but more connectivity issues once in a while. Nothing really major that affected my grades adversely. Sometimes, waiting for responses delayed work getting finished. Nothing Had to have self motivation to watch all the videos and to read the textbook. Deadlines. A little hard to focus on the subject. I appreciated everything about this course. I only wish I had enough confidence in my own ability to become a VITA volunteer. Finding mistakes in the questions and problems in the book. There was nothing I disliked. The videos were very long. Although they were long they did help me to understand the rules to taxes. The videos are a bit representative, but it helps you remember. I cannot say that there was anything I liked least about this online course. It had a nice flow to it giving me enough time to do my reading and turn in my assignments. This question doesn't apply to me since I really enjoyed the class. As an online course I did fall behind a few times because of my schedule but overall all assignments were well spaced out for the course.

9. What did you like most about your online course experience?

How helpful Mr. Kamida was. he is a great teacher. I could adjust my time with other classes. Weekly assignments were always due on a Friday and that was a sufficient amount of time to complete it. Instructions and announcements were provided frequently. The quiz is unlimited, so its good that you can try many times until you get the perfect score. i have the live class Many extra credits and the teacher is very patient and always come to class prepared What I liked most about my online course experience was that it seems simple. I liked how the professors notify the students about the assignments, exams, and project due dates. What I liked most about my online course experience is that Mr. kamida was always helpful and answerd our questions right away. Professor Kamida provided us with so many resources (videos, notes,or instructions on how to access other resources) enough to help us to understand the topics of the course effectively. He also replies to questions/emails right away. I also like how extra credit opportunities are given. Assign weekly assignments every Friday to recall the knowledge of what was taught in class throughout the week. Goes through the chapter in the handouts, which can be used and apply to an upcoming exam or project. I like the most is more flexible time. The knowledge I gained It allowed me to go by my own pace as far as studying is concerned. Of course there are times frames for home works and exams, but the freedom to do them at my own pace was liberating. Prof. Kamida was real good at providing the information needed to study each chapter He was great at giving assignments in advance so we could get ahead. I liked that Mr. Kamida is always available to answer any questions or to help me to understand the assignments and lessons. Also his video lectures are excellent and aides in helping to teach all lessons. He also has a lot of resources on Laulima. His teaching style is clear and precise. I would definately take courses from him again. Thank you Mr. Kamida! It was easy to fit my learning to my schedule. Since I'm able to learn well on my own, I could get through the material at my own pace. Very helpful instructor, homework is not an overload, and it was an interesting elective to take. Being able to express myself without hesitations, manage my on time, able to work full time, and able to do multiple task while studying. Everything was really clear and all the dates were set and followed from the beginning. I liked the fact that I could keep replaying the video lectures. It helped me better understand tax deductions and credits and how they are calculated. Mr. Kamida's video presentations were very clear and organized, it made it easy for me to complete my assignments. I also value how organized his Laulima site was and I especially appreciated d put to use all the useful tools he provided. Videos were very helpful. The text was also very detailed and being that Roy Kamida organized all the different forms in a way so that we can observe what they looked like helped me. I like professor Kamida, giving allowance of opportunity for student to earn extra credit. I like professor Kamida, prompt response to our question and we feel , we are welcome to ask any question, at any time. And he always welcome our questions throughout the class. I appreciated the Knowledge the Professor provided and the promptness of his responses. Overall A++ Professor Highly Recommended. i really liked the videos and lectures, they helped me very much. As with any of the online courses offered, the best thing is thing is the flexibility to study when I can or want; don't miss the live classes at all. That I was able to complete most of my work in the time that I had and was not very stressed about having to go to a class, but did have the option of attending the class on campus.

Roy Kamida is a wonderful instructor who knows his material and I would like to take many more classes from him. The book seems to be "rushed to print" and not thoroughly proofed. Hey is extremely knowledgeable of this subject. He responded to my email very fast. Great professor! i enjoyed this class and will reccommend it to others. Very good class! I really enjoyed how all the questions were posted in the announcement section with an appropriate answer. It really helped me a lot when it came to questions on items.

15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

I can't see my class mates, so there is no social experience. However, I did meet some of my class mates during tax volunteering time. There were numerous errors from tests and/or quizzes from the publisher. For the amount of money we have to pay for textbooks, the errors should have been kept to a low minimum. Sometimes the lectures were a couple of years old, so that would mean that the tax rates were different. the PROJECTS There wasn't anything that I didn't think any less of in this course. not much to comment in regard as I enjoyed this course Sometimes it seemed that the assignments and exams didn't really test if someone really understood and mastered the material, but then again this is a 100 level course at the CC level so I guess it was appropriate. Other than that there was nothing wrong with the course. Learning tax takes a lot of time to understand so I would say it takes up a lot of my time. Nothing no comment Sometimes, I wanted answers quickly, although I get response from instructor quickly, sometimes > I still don't understand, so I would prefer talking or discussion w/ a person for further explanation in detailed. Personally, this is a disadvantage for most online courses, therefore I would need to make an appt with LRC staff, who also is very helpful. The fact that I didn't turn in a couple of my assignments......that falls on me. =( Inconsistencies in textbook.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

When ever I had a hard time learning a chapter, I could go to the video folder for the chapter and watch Mr. Kamida's lecture. This helped me understand the material. There was a lot of information available for us to learn the material (i.e. lectures, chapter assignment, quizzes and homework. Questions were answered very quickly and not once was I ever made to feel like it was a stupid question to ask. Kamida was very professional and went out of his way to provide information for his students. Loved it! especially with Mr. Kamida. This is my second class with him, so that should be self explanatory as to what kind of teacher he is. You know what he expects and you do it. very informative and well put together. No question, I would recommend him to anyone. What I liked most is that Mr. Kamida will anonymously post up other students questions and his answer for eveyone to see. That is a good way to answer other peole's questions if they have the same question. schedule was giving to follow at the beginning of the semester and the professor followed to the teeth a great tool to study at my paste base on this schedule I liked the breadth of material available in the resources and the very clear instructions. I liked the detailed announcements that would explain everything and what needs to be done. Roy Kamida is a very detailed and thorough man and it shows in the way Laulima was set up. It was very helpful/ Professor Kamida's help really helped me understand tax and I liked the amount of extra credits that were given. He emails me back really fast when I ask him questions. All the resources and opportunities that Prof. Kamida provided from extra credit (for additional learning from accounting to other subjects), VITA volunteering, reading material in organized folders on laulima, video lectures, lectures that explained concepts thoroughly, etc. I liked that he wanted us to learn by doing our own research and answering our own questions. For example, I would email him a question, but he would not give me a direct answer, but would guide me on how and where to get the answer, such as reading the syllabus, looking in laulima for a specific folder. There was a wealth of knowledge and resources in his laulima page. The video lectures, and that all material was available on laulima. It is very convenient, instructor is "the best," because he is prompt, thorough, concise and knowledgeable. Online is great, because you can work around your schedule and I don't have to be in a "live" class 2-3 a week, only if its necessary. The assignments. I got to try my hand at preparing a partnership and corp tax returns and boy was it hard. Need to get more experience so that I know what I'm doing! Being able to work on my own time.

17. Other comments:

It would help if the lectures were in both Flash and Non-Flash format. Mr. Kamida is one of the best instructors at LCC and it was a pleasure to have been able to learn so much from him. I enjoyed this course and learned a lot about taxes. None. Prof. Kamida is one a few professors that reply to his emails immediately. The LRC staff is great help, when I am confused or unable to understand a certain subject. The instructor is very organized and I hope he continues teaching this course, because> Mr. Kamida (in my opinion) is a great and wonderful instructor, especially, in this complex subject of taxes(accounting) . I have acquired good habits from the instructor, because of his teaching. Is there going to be accounting courses dedicated to teach partnership and corporate tax returns in depth? If so I'm there! Mr. Kamida is a great instructor--I would recommend this class others.

15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

To be honest not much. The main thing that I liked the least was probably the importance of reading. I usually do not read, but since this was an online class I had to read. None. PC problems sometimes get in the way It was kind of difficult to learn accounting online, unless you are very determined and self motivated to do so. Online course tend to be harder than lecture courses but a good instructor still makes up for it. If help is needed, a student needs to seek assistance on their own time as opposed to being able to learn it hands-on in an on-campus course. Like any online class, it can be easy to forget the Sunday due date for assignments at times, but work is given a ample amount of time (1 week). Time management was the most difficult, and having to stay on top of things that are due. no teacher is hard Nothing at all. There is nothing I disliked :)

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

The freedom to do things when the time is appropriate. I liked the fact that he responds quickly to emails and utilizes Connect. Connect makes learning the material easier. Also with the posting of relevant videos to the course learning was fun and interesting. supportive videos and lectures The course was very organized and it really turns into a routine which I feel is essential for online courses that are self-managed. It has the convenience of an eBook. I liked the lecture videos given and the homework was manageable. I also like the extra credit opportunities and how they were relevant to accounting, unlike some other classes. Mr. Kamida was very helpful and a good professor the flexibility is very nice Provides a flexible schedule for students. Having the convenience and flexibility of taking a course online and the excellent communication skills of my instructor. Using connect, helped me understand and go at my own pace but yet finish when we needed to finish.

17. Other comments:

N/A It is best to start early. There are homework assignments, quizzes, and "Learnsmarts" due every Sunday. Try to get the Learnsmart and assignments done first, ASAP. None. even we dont have face to face class, when we have question, and ask teacher via email, Mr.Kamida replies us so fast. No comments I would like to continue reviewing study materials after course is over, such as video study lectures, and establish a personal archive. I will check if I can download. Any rate, I will ask the professor if this can be done. The issue of like least about course, is the issue above. The issue may become a moot issue because I have yet to try a download. That I had to wait for my professor to reply back. Even though Professor Kamida was quick at responding, I didn't like the wait. Nothing Any course is difficult when taking it online. A tax course being taken online can be a different story. There is a lot of information and concepts that come with "taxes". It can be very tedious and overwhelming, especially online and having to do a lot of critical thinking mostly on your own. I could choose classes which I needed for my graduation requirement other than my home campus. too much to read. So far, so good... nothing Too many sidebars on the Laulima site for this course and no mail sidebar in case we wanted to email or contact other students to say plan for or request a study group. I liked least that we did not have ample time to cover all the chapters in the textbook. I do, however, understand the limited amount of instructional days in a semester and could have only hoped for my class instruction to cover the rest of the textbook. None at all There was nothing I didn't like about this course, it was a great experience the fact that i wasn't able to open some of the links that were in LAULIMA from my home computer. none Once exams are graded not being able to see the correct answer to questions you got wrong. Online course is more harder than the regular class. Inconsistant timer while taking exams and quizzes on Laulima. Because I don't have to go to class Nothing I think what I liked least about the online course experience is that miss the face to face classroom instruction. The work load was a lot. There was nothing I didn't like about the course this is my second online course. It is really easy to understand from teacher's video lacture. He makes us understand materials easily. and he gave us chances to do own work. I love it. I can't really complain, there wasn't anything that I didn't like about this online class. Exams are tricky. You really need a good eye to do exams, which makes it really hard even if you know the answer.

Having to do work at my own time. we don't need go school His way of lecturing on laulima, his videos and always reply fast if we message him and ask questions. The study video lectures reflect the Professor's in depth knowledge and experience as a ...tax surgeon. I mean I am afraid he can use a scalpel with deft mind and hand, but moderated by his calm voice, I will take the cut in the words, be calm, settle, take in. In between cuts, I can hear, "Ask if you have any questions." Lastly, Professor answered questions in a timely manner. All in all, the course experience, I felt initially, I was thrown out of plane, but I had a parachute which he figuratively gave me. Everything. Mr. Kamida is a great teacher doing a great job! That if I had any questions, Professor Kamida would be willing to answer them and help me. Learning how to do my own taxes. The professor was really good about sending weekly announcements. It helped me as a reminder of what to do as well as a "heads up" for the upcoming week. He also answered any questions that he was asked, not only to the student who asked the question, but also posted them for the rest of the class to see, while keeping the student private. I can organize my time schedule if the instructor provide efficient course schedule. it was very informative and he was always there if I need to ask a question. The convenience of not having to travel to school and that I can do my school work wherever I want. How convienent and well organized the course is. And how Professor Komida updates this course almost daily, which is very helpful and encouraging as a student. everything.. I liked how the online course is at your own pace and that the instructor helps everyone understand the topic. A lot of resources to students who have additional questions, which are available for review. Questions are answered and posted anonymously for all students to see in case other students were wondering the same thing. Like I've always mentioned about other online courses, I like the fact that I have the convenience of completing course material regardless of my location. I could be at home, family/friends house, or even on vacation and I could be responding to class discussions, taking a quiz, or even braving the dreaded exams. Additionally, I did enjoy the practical exercises and the projects which put much of what we learned into practice. We had the opportunity to apply the learned material and receive feedback from our instructor. These type of practical exercises are quite similar to the taxes that many of us, if not all, will be experiencing when we file our personal income taxes. We're allowed to work at our own pace but we still have deadlines. We're able to move foward in our lessons and hw because he posts our hw 2 weeks before the due date so we get to move on. Mr. Kamida really works hard to put this online class together. He gives great online lectures and even goes through step by step in solving problems. He is very on top of responding back to questions and also reminders for the class. His projects were very helpful in real life situations as it applies to any of us students and working adults. Mr. Kamida also seems to have a passion for teaching because he really takes the time to help his class out. The reading material was a lot and even difficult to understand a lot of the time (lot of info) however, the video lectures and video demo problems that supplemented the chapter made this class very interesting and I am very anxious to get into the field of accounting. The teacher answer questions quickly The online videos he provide with clear explanation of the course the video lectures. Working at my own pace the prompt replies to questions and the video lectures. The projects were so helpful Able to work on my own time. As for an online course, Roy made it interesting to want to stay in this course. What I like most about my online course experience is the resources available. Instructor was very helpful. We could ask Roy advanced tax questions that we did not cover. Free consultation. Nothing That my proffessor always returned our assignments back quickly with comments. He also made a confusing subject easy to understand. It's easier for me because of work and my family. I am able to do the work when I had time available. It would have been more difficult for me to be on campus. Mr. Kamida is an excellent instructor. He is replies to emails quickly. I would highly recommend his class to other students. Learning how to do my own taxes. That everything was so easy to do. Everything that the Professor asked us to do, he made sure we understood HOW to do it. If some of us didn't understand, he took the time to explain to the whole class how to do it. Classy! Video lactures and assignments. Espacially he gave us project assignments. We can learn lot of stuff while i figure out them. I liked that everything was done online and everything just had a set due date. For example assignments always due Friday @ 11:59PM, tests always have 3 days to complete, etc). weekly activities are quite easy.

Due to the constrained timeline of the semester, maybe offer another course to complete the other chapters of the textbook, Income Tax Preparation II? This way, many of the students will gain valuable knowledge and confidence when either filing their own taxes but also a future clients taxes as well. Very good class. Give chances to students who have trouble and always responds to our question as soon as he can. N/A This course required A LOT of READING. It's just the nature of the course though, but it was a lot. Sometimes I just like to interact with the teach in class. Online courses are great though. There was nothing I didn't like. I personally didn't keep track of when things were due. There was no working with other students on problems, not doing each others work, but discussing solutions and studying together. Nothing. None.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

The flexibility was the best. There was a minimum of one assignment due during the week. The assignments are usually always due on Friday. This allowed me to work with my other schedule and find the best time to sit down and complete the assignment. We had a window of three days to complete the exam. If it was an in-person class, we had to take it that specific day. This class allowed us to choose the best time and take it whenever as long as it was completed by the date and time due. I like that I can work on my own time within reason. This course is well organized I like that the teacher is very organized and has a set schedule. When there is a difficult problem the professor tries his best to answer the question and does it in a timely matter. The thing I liked the most about my online experience is the pace of the class and the consistent due dates for assignments. More than enough time was given to thoroughly learn the new material for each chapter. Also, the consistent due dates allowed me to effectively manage my study time with other online courses. I also liked the lecture videos Roy made. The lecture videos helped to clarify many concepts in the textbook. All the materials are available online which allows more flexible times to watch the lecture videos. the ability to study and review material at my time. able to submit work easily online and get responses quickly. What i like the most is the videos of every chapters that we're covering.It helped me alot with doing my assignments and exams. This course it difficult but Mr. Kamida provides a lot of information and explanation that are extremely helpful. The online course is very flexible and manageable. All of the information and resources (video lectures, powerpoint slides, forms... etc) are available in the laulima website whenever the students need it. very well organized Roy is very helpful by sending and posting weekly announcements to students to notify them of assignments due and where to find help for the assignments. This online course is also well structured and organized. There are fair opportunities to keep your grade up and learn new things!

This class is challenging, but very useful. We all have to do tax returns at some point in our lives. Gaining this knowledge will give us more opportunities to understand what we need to pay taxes on and what ways we can lower the amount. This was a really hard course. Great class The online class for ACC137 is extremely organized and well paced. Roy is very knowledgeable on the subject he teaches and graciously answered a variety of questions, including questions about personal tax situations. Great teacher, very helpful and uderstanding. Since my field is business in accounting, i believe this course helped me enhance my professional development in my major because Governmental Accounting is another step of completing my Accounting courses. This course was taken to fulfull my core requirements of Accounting. This class has successfully helped me to understand Accounting on the Governmental and Nonprofit level. Journal entries were required to remember and study for and it somehow helped me to personally comprehend what journal entries to utilized when purchasing orders, etc. This course helped me learn about governmental accounting and how it differs from regular financial accounting. I'm really glad I took this course as I believe it broadened my understanding of accounting in general. We get to see accounting in a whole different dimension. This course has taught me a different way of looking at accounting from the perspective of a government rather than a business. I think that taking this course will be beneficial to me because it gives me the knowledge that can open more door for my future career in accounting. BUSA 414 gave me exposure for preparations I needed to adjust to, for future courses and post graduation requirements. This course enhance my professional development and knowledge in Governmental Accounting. I'm starting to take notes to prepare me for the CPA exam. The videos are really helpful. The course provided a solid understanding of the major differences that exist between for-profit and not-for-profit accounting. this was for my major. I thought that the material was there but I had a hard time comprehending it because it was both challenging and being an online course, it was hard to learn on my own. Helped me understand the fundamentals of governmental accounting. It elaborated more on the concepts learned in advanced accounting. I learned a lot about the field of governmental and non-profit accounting. This course has been very beneficial to my professional development because my current career is surrounded by this course- governmental accounting. I never really considered nonprofit organizations involved accounting. When I think about nonprofit I think no money, so I don't find any need for an accountant to keep track of financials. However, through this course I learned a little more of that. Provided background about government accounting. I haven't quite figured that out yet. Professor Kamida did the best he could with the limited amount of time to teach the course. I have come to the realization personally that I can't learn near as much in such a short amount of time as in a regualar course. The materials covered will help prepare me for the CPA exam; a big step in my professional goals. This course will certainly help me in my career, especially when I will need to take my CPA exam.

The resources and activities provided are sufficient to be successful in this course. I think there should be excercises similar to the exam and the test bank for our exams should come out from our excercise solutions. I believe that class discussions for this online class should be added to improve our learning in this course. For such reason, this particular subject is a really tough subject to learn and understand. With class discussions, students can feel free to ask each other how to do a particular problem if it is quite complicated for them to follow through. It would be best if students got to know each other and communication can help improve a students learning a little better if they are lost in a specific topic of the text. I have only one suggestion. I'm not sure what else is out there, but I didn't really care for the textbook we used. It was very difficult to understand (the wording and the way things were phrased). The text also doesn't seem to have enough examples and stories about real-life governmental accounting situations (stories) that can help us relate better. Also, the only two colors in the entire book are black and white. My financial accounting book and the auditing book I'm currently using both make good use of color-coding, colored diagrams, colored emphasis, etc. They also have an ample amount of examples and little stories that help you see how the material applies in the 'real world'. This book has none of that. Mr. Kamida's video lectures are helpful, but I wish the lectures can be longer and more detail. Some accounting concepts are extremely hard to understand and the textbook itself is not helping at all. The chapter videos that Professor Kamida helped me out a lot. They helped me better understand what I was reading in the text, which was a life saver cause the text was pretty difficult to read. I found that I had to read practically every sentence at least twice to fully understand what they were trying to say. I also found the answers to the chapter exercises and problems that he provided to be very helpful as well. They helped me figure things out and kept me on the right track to understanding the chapters as a whole. Mr. Kamida's available resources are more than adequate to learn this subject. None At this time, no comments. I liked the lecture videos. Wish there were more videos on the problems and how to record accounts on a ledger. Daily emails are very much helpful. n/a I think some occasional classroom time or study group sessions as a class would help. In class components More examples of journal entries & which accounts transactions are taking place in. The textbook didn't always provide all of these, particularly in transactions between funds. Otherwise, a fair amount of helpful material was provided between the pdfs, powerpoints and videos. Additional videos or interactive data, perhaps group or class exercises requiring engaging dialogue with other students. There were powerpoint slides as well as videos. The book didn't really help that much. Study guides, outlines, summary notes for each chapter. Practice quizzes/exams. Provide correct answers that were still wrong after the 3rd tries. The only thing that would improve my learning for this class would be to have taken in a class room setting verses online. I would love an interactive portion where the teacher had a live online lesson that we could listen to and ask questions. I believe the technology is available. NA More homework demonstration.

I think that the course is very effective in the manner it is set up right now. On the chapters where some concepts are hard to grasps, more videos explaining the concepts could help. I think Roy Kamida could make the exam a bit easier. The exam was really tough to get a good grade on. The homework wasn't too bad, but when it came to the exam, I think most of the class struggled. It was a standard course. I learned a lot and it was helpful. I believe that Professor Kamida has a very organizing method on how we should do our homework and our exams. He gives us 3 chances to get our excercise solutions higher, and he gives us 2 chances to try to achieve a better exam grade. Although the material covered in this online course was quite reasonable, I believe the topic itself wasn't all that easy. I am aware of the fact that Professor Kamida is available if any students are in need of assistance, and as far as online class, I really thought that his online infrastructure on the Laulima website was organized with tabs. It is very helpful to have a playback video where you can access it anytime, pause, and go back to it. I like how you break-up/space out the lessons throughout the semester. However, summer semester can be hectic. The teaching style is great, but the amount of material covered over a 5 week period is very overwhelming for an online 400 level class. Professor Kamida did a great job! NA It is a very difficulty class to be taken during summer. I wish I had had more time to go more in depth of the material covered.

He is a great professor. He is very knowledgable about the materials covered in the course as evident in the lecture videos provided. The videos were very helpful in understanding the concepts and principles covered in the book. He responds to questions in a timely manner. Good teacher from what I've seen. Roy Kamida answers back to messages on time and he's pretty lenient with his grading and gives extra credits to boost our grades up because honestly, i believe this class is kind of difficult. Professor Kamida was fair when it came to homework/quizzes. Since it's summer, we are all aware of the fact that the pace will be double times faster than a regular fall/spring semester course. I am glad that he told us in advance that the quizzes/homework come straight from the textbook. All we have to do is study and he gave us at least three attempts to reach our best possible score. Accounting is a really difficult subject and I am glad that Professor Kamida gave us the opportunity to take our quizzes without time limit. Very effective instructor. I would highly his class to other students. Great job!! I will give a an "A" for sure. He started off the semester with an accounting 101 review. Not only can the review refreshes our memories, it also help us see the similarities between financial and governmental accounting. He is a great instructor! I took another one of his accounting classes at LCC and I really enjoyed it. At that time I was pretty apprehensive about taking an accounting class online, but his teaching methods and resources he provided made it fairly easy to be successful, so when I saw that he was offering a class at UHWO I decided to go for it! I was kind of scared at first just because it was a summer class and those pack in so much work in such a short period of time and also because I had heard that Governmental Accounting is one of the hardest classes to take, but I because of my past experiences with Professor Kamida I figured my chances were pretty high of passing. I also got to volunteer at a VITA program under his supervision and that was a fun and successful experience as well. A+ Professor Kamida's class messages, video lectures, and other learning materials enhanced my overall learning experience. I learned a lot about governmental accounting and accounting in general in this class. I've taken several courses from Professor Kamida and he is an excellent instructor. His PowerPoint lectures are so helpful and he makes the extra effort to help all his students succeed in his class. He is always accessible and responds to e-mail questions and concerns, usually within minutes, but always within one hour. I am so grateful for his dedication to his students and their welfare. Mr. Kamida is a great teacher. He is approachable, very knowledgeable about the subject, and accommodating. He cares for the success of his students. He posts questions and answers that other students have asked so that everyone can benefit from them. Difficult course to master, Professor Kamida did a good presentation of course. You made this class less stressful compared to other classes I've had. I believe that Prof. Kamida did a very good job in setting the pace of the course in a shortened summer semester. Prof. Kamida effectively used the time to teach the course considering the large amount of complex information that this course contains. I believe that the method used to offer the quizzes and exams was highly beneficial because it encouraged me to go back and learn the information that I had a weak understanding of. Good, very knowledgeable about the subject. He's a good professor but the fact that it was online made me not enjoy this class. Good instructor. Explains the material in video lectures well. Ok. 20. My overall evaluation of this course is...

I believe that the course was effective in teaching me the basic concepts and principles of governmental accounting. Good course. I enjoyed this summer course because it helped me got a sense of accounting. Like I have mentioned, this course is quite hard even having to understand the book was quite complicated. The textbook chosen wasn't all that interesting because it was in the format of black and white text and no pictures or as much examples given like other accounting textbooks I have bought in the past. I guess the textbook made the subject even tedious than it is. However, I learned a great amount of material, despite how hard it is to remember the journal entries at a fast pace. Overall, this course was straightforward and some quizzes are hard but its a good thing we have several attempts offered to raise our grades. In addition, the exams are all the same format and Professor Kamida is right when he informed us that it'll be harder than the quizzes. I know that the exams are the hardest part of the class itself because random questions are thrown at you and you have not as much time to look for the right answers since it is timed. Being that this was a summer course (accelerated), and the fact that I'm taking two concurrent summer courses and working full-time, this class is pretty challenging. However, Professor Kamida made the material as easy to understand as anyone possibly could. He has really great video lectures and other supplementary material to help in the learning process of a pretty difficult subject. Although I didn't email him with any questions, he made his responses to other students' questions (anonymously) available for us all to benefit from. It appears that he replies very promptly and has an honest desire to teach us well and to help us succeed. Tough ... tough ... tough! By the time I understand the concepts in chapter one, the semester is almost over. This course was hard and at MANY times was very confusing because the way of thinking about accounting is different from the way I have always been taught to think of accounting. It took a lot of time and patience to understand the subjects of this course. But even with all that said, I enjoyed it! Accounting is one of those subjects that I don't get bored of. I learned a lot and even with all the frustrations that came with it, I had fun! Excellent. I like how all assignments and exams are open from the beginning of the course so a student may start the assignments or exams at their own pace. I would definitely take any class that Roy Kamida offered because he is an excellent and knowledgeable professor who sincerely cares for his students. I learned alot. This is a good class to take if students are planning to go forth and sit for the CPA examination in the future. It covers material that will be seen and the questions that may be similar to the homework and exam questions. Due to extreme course material, I would prefer to take the course for a full semester and not as an accelerated Summer session. I needed more time to absorb information. Wish this online class was offered in-class during the summer. A very beneficial course that provided me with knowledge of a far different form of accounting. The course is very helpful. Average. I don't like online courses. Good course but sometimes difficultnto grasp material Good. Informative. This course has helped me exceed in my professional development because it has allowed me to gain a better overall understanding of the financial world in the governmental aspect. This course was very difficult, however it was bearable and never really stressed me out in any way. As mentioned before, maybe a better book. Great class. Its very interesting to learn about govermental accounting. I felt the course was confusing coming out of financial accounting and felt that it was difficult. Thanks Professor Kamida. no comment. Tough like any other Accounting Subject, Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting has helped me advanced my knowledge in different depths by journal entries and how the government takes on distinct transactions. I just want to thank Professor Kamida for providing us the materials, powerpoints, lectures and emails during this summer class, for it has helped me better my learning. Since I am not doing quite well on my exam, I am happy to hear that Professor Kamida will give us the opportunity to raise our grades with extra credits. I will be sure to not take these extra credits for granted because it will be a big help for me. Moreover, I am glad to be a part of this summer course and I hope to take any other Accounting class with Professor Kamida online or in class in the nearer future. Love his lecture video. He explains it well. I have the option to review his video over and over. He takes time to answer email and share questions and answers with the class. n/a The videos about the chapter and some of the problems were an excellent resource. It is good to get further clarification and a different point of view. BUSA 414 should be also offered in the fall and spring for students who can't afford to take the class during summer and the short rush semester. I didn't like the textbook, I thought that it was rather vague when it came to examples, but it expected you to know how to do the problems and exercises with nothing to go off of but a few sentences. My main gripe is with the text book. I found it incredibly difficult to read and understand. I would highly recommend finding another book that is more accessible and concise. I enjoyed the course and the topics covered. I am glad I chose this as one of my concentration requirements.

15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

I felt like there was a lot of work, even for an accelerated summer school class. The one thing that I liked least was the fact that the course load moved way to fast. In the Summer session I guess it's always like that. If I were a student considering to take this ACC 201 class I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE THIS DURING THE REGULAR FALL AND SPRING SEMESTERS. That way the course load doesn't move to fast and you at least have some time to study the material. Best professor by far! Mr. Kamida really cares about his students and takes his job seriously and teaches with a passion. I plan to take any accounting classes that are taught by him. The fast pace of summer session really concentrated the material. It was really challenging because it was online and also because it's at a quicker pace since this was during the summer. I took the accounting 201 in class, but all the homework was through connect. I didn't really like doing the learn smart questions but they were helpful with the homework and the quizzes. It was good to take online class but online class is much harder than in class. The LearnSmart. It was difficult to find the questions that you needed help on because there is no table of contents. Probably the workload since it was more intense than normal school. But I expected that anyways. Online during summer is really intense, don't know if I would do it again I hope all accountant courses i have remaining are like this one!!! One thing I did not like was that in the beginning all of the homework days and exams days were consistent (Homework days were Tuesday and Thursday and the Exam day was on a Wednesday), then about halfway through it changed (probably due to the holiday) and it threw me off and I missed two assignments. Probably more of a fault on my side due to not enough preparation but the consistency in the beginning was perfect. No complaints Not receiving my quiz results promptly The grades don't release until after the due date. the learn smart questions The only stressful thing about this course is that I took it throughout the semester. It was really fast-paced course, you really have to be dedicated and very self-disciplined to pass an online class during the summer. So far so good. Everything is fine except that I missed the chances to see the professor/fellow students face-to-face. Grades were not visible until one hour after the deadline. We are given multiple chances to complete assignments, but it would be a waste of time if we don't know what we got wrong the first time around. The workload was overwhelming for this course. I would recommend keeping this course on a regular semester. I got sick a few times trying to complete the 50 problem assignment, homework, quiz, and exam. That's a lot for assignments due every other day and exam due the next day prior to an assignment. The thing I liked least was that it is harder to learn strictly from a book and online materials than it is to learn in a classroom from lectures. i don't feel i'm learning as much as i should be mastering. Taking online classes are never easy. Roy Kamida gave students the option to attend the live lecture classes if needed. He was very prompt and thorough in answering our questions and always offered assistance. Nothing whatsoever. Very good course. I disliked how you weren't told which questions were correct or not after the assignment/quiz was due. I prefer online and thought that Prof. Kamida was awesome! The fact that there was so much information to retain in such a short time period. Obviously, in a summer school course, that can't be helped. Nothing.. None

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

I really liked that all the assignments were available from the very beginning. I could work at my own pace What I liked most about the online experience was that he responded to emails practically the same day. Some teachers tell you to give them a 24 hours notice but he responds pretty fast. And Whenever you ask him a question online he answers it. Mr. Kamida responded promptly. It was my first time using connect and I prefer it over any other online program we have had to use. The flexibility of doing the assignments around my schedule. Professor Kamida responded very quickly to all questions and tried to help you the best he can. I liked that all the assignments were all there from the beginning. It showed me the amount of work that I had to do. I can do my work any time. Everything was outlined clearly. Assignments had clear due dates and the textbook was very helpful! Having Professor Kamida go through problems we didn't understand and always asking us if we had any questions after he finished teaching the chapter. Able to work at your own pace This was my first summer course as well as my first course that had ALL assignments online. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. All dates are set, all assignments have enough time to finish plus a little extra in case you are struggling. It was very easy to understand and complete. I will definitely want this kind of course in the future! The course seemed to be well organized and help materials abundant and easily accesible. I could go ahead and read chapters and do work ahead of time We can do assignments and tests early. the regular hw questions Chapter assignments and Exams were due on the same day every week. It made it really easy to remember when something was do and how to timely plan out your deadlines. He never changed his schedule due dates in the middle of the semester or last minute. There are a few things I like about the on-line course. - The Connect system/online study/work makes me able to access the course material at anytime. I can study at my own pace which is a plus. - I also like the learnsmart after completing the homework. It's a refresh for the course materials and makes me memorize/grab the core of the basic knowledge better. I learned more than I thought I would about accounting. I didn't enjoy this course online. I like that i could still work while attending the online class. Easy access to all assignments online. This class was very organized and timely. I was never suprised about a random assignment due. It was very interesting and challenging. Tests The supplemental videos and message updates. Assignments and quiz's taken at convenient time.

Summer session went at a fast pace, making the content more challenging to learn. I understood most of what was going on, thanks to Professor Kamida. He took the time to really help anybody out who needed additional help. He made himself available online, in class, and after class. Great teacher who knows accounting very well and has a passion for it. He's very nice and is ready to be there for you as a professor. He is a good teacher and he knows a lot about accounting. He really gives you many opportunities to meet him for help even for online students, he even opens up his lectures to his online class so that when available we can ask him questions and get the full experience of lecture. 15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

None This was my first on line course, I was not able to ask questions on the spot or when I was having difficulty grasping the formula in Chapter 1 on the tax brackets, Table 1-2 and example 1-1 page 1-3. It wasn't fun. I didn't like that the tax software that comes with the book is only for PC. I feel like we should have two options when purchasing the software. I did not take this class for online course. I am taking it as a lifetime class. Indeed, accounting 134 is awesome and learned alot. Thanks to Mr. Kamida. I did not take the online course, but I did have to turn in assignments and exams online. I took advantage of this online system and didn't seek help when I knew I needed it. none Everything was great. :) I can't think of anything that I didn't like about the online course. I took the live class section. Nothing at all. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about this class! I feel that more homework should be given to exercise what has been learned in class. Nothing really. I would have liked it if there was a forum or a mail tool to communicate with classmates. However, this is not a much of a problem because online communication is often required for points in online classes and feels unnatural and forced, so maybe we are better off without it. It just would have been nice to have the option to talk with classmates. Honestly, the problems I have with online courses are that I am not committed and I can do way better in a live class where we (as a class) go over the material in the book. This problem I have has nothing to do with the instructor Mr. Kamida, because he does a great job making this online course feel like a live class sessions. He has videos for every chapter, which makes it a lot easier for me. I have difficulty finding time to sit down and read a whole chapter. This is the main reason why I don't understand as much as I should. nothing My least favorite part is when there's technical difficulties with my computer or Laulima is running slow. It seems to happen when it's Exam time and the Exam is on Laulima. I live close to campus so I can always take the test at the Learning Center but it can be frustrating! I liked the whole online course experience. Nothing, everything was clear and organized. none A few weeks had assignments that were a little long N/A Questions are answered The thing i liked least about having an online course was being at the mercy of technology. What i mean is, if my computer stalled or anything went wrong while taking a timed test i would be in trouble. There is nothing that I didn't like in this online course It was mainly my timing; however, I wish that the assignments were all posted so I can do it in the beginning of the school year, rather than giving it a weeks advance. Although, a week was good amount of time to do our assignment. The schedule of the exams seemed confusing. The first exam was on three chapters and there were no assignments due during the days of the exam. For exam 2 however, was scheduled after only 2 chapters, then a quiz was due the same day the exam was opened, which was a big surprise. I really enjoyed this class. I am looking forward to taking his business tax class in the fall. To be honest, there's nothing negative I have to say. Nothing at all.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

None I could review the videos and lectures. I can do it on my own time. I like all of the videos that Mr. Kamida works so hard to prepare for us. Mr. Kamida is very knowledgable about tax and he helped us learn the material well. I was able to file my own tax return this year! I like the quizes and the projects. Most especially I enjoyed and practicing to do tax. I liked how the online course made communication quite simple. We learned all the tax forms and how to file them through IRS. I like the videos and weekly assignment given every week and plus I like the projects a lot because it makes to learn how to complete forms by ourselves. The course is so easily accessible in todays technology age. The online instruction via videos and answers to chapter questions posted by the instuctor make this course much easier to learn. I took the live class section. That Mr. Kamida responded in a timely manner when I had questions or concerns. It felt like I was in a live class. I liked that everything was pretty much done online. I liked that all exams were online as well rather than in class. I really liked how everything was organized. It was easy to find things and organized in a way that you know when things are due and what's expected of the course. I liked that Professor Kamida had online videos explaining the work and materials covered in this class. He was understanding and helpful when it came to answering questions. Prof. Kamida's course was well organized and helpful. I liked that everything was online and at your own pace. I loved Professor Kamida's videos. His videos make this the best online class I have ever taken. His voice is awesome and keeps you engaged. The material for this tax class is very hard to read and complicated. However, Professor Kamida's videos make it easy to understand and do great on exams. Thank you Professor Kamida! Professor Kamida also gives other tools to help students understand the material. The solutions to the end of chapter problems were especially useful and allowed me to check my work and figure out where I was wrong. Everything you need to do great in this class, is offered to you. You just need to apply yourself. I really appreciate the videos that are available. I like that I can at least get some understanding of what the book is talking about. Sometimes I don't get the chance to read the chapter, so the video REALLY helps. I also like that the teacher has a layout of steps you should follow to completing a chapter. This helps me a lot too, because again I am not good with online courses. I need to have a set schedule that tells me whats next and a way of learning. Also this class does not require a lot of work. The work is just enough to understand the course and the instructor gives a good amount of time to get it done. having a teacher who gets back to questions in a timely matter and having a teacher who is very clear of the class schedule for the course This was one of my best online classes. I really liked the videos of the homework problems done by Roy! That was like being in class or one on one tutoring. Also Roy posts to Laulima all the time so you always have constant communication with him and the class. The time to finish up the assignments. I liked all of the extra resources that Mr. Kamida provided us with, he made the subject material very easy to understand and he was very organized. I liked how Mr. Kamida sends us a weekly reminder about the assignments are due. He is very knowledgeable about the things that he's teaching and is very helpful. Instructions on what's expected are clear. There was a lot of reference material This course was really good usually online courses is pretty challenging but this online course was great and I think I did pretty well. Any questions that were asked were answered immediately. Questions that other students were posted so that the entire class was able to benefit from the answer. Another part that was very helpful were the videos on the chapters. This provided an in-class experience for an online student. I liked being able to work at my own pace but I also like the fact that I always had the option to seek help in "real life" if I needed it. The thing i liked most about my online class is the fact that it pushes you to be dilligent. I liked how the Chapters are evenly distributed throughout the course. I also liked filling out forms for each Chapter because it gives the students practice on how to do the forms correctly. The video lectures are really helpful in understanding the lessons. The extra credit is also a big help to our grades. When I had a question about a chapter, he would post the question on the announcement site for everyone else to see because others may have the same question or need clarity on an assignment or the reading. I know I used a lot of my other classmates questions to learn from that.. I also liked the videos and the powerpoint that was set up and sent in the beginning of the semester. teacher answer very quickly for question, everything is very clear on laulima Assignments were always due on the same day, so you can adjust your work/personal schedule accordingly. All the information was readily availavle. I enjoyed the pace of the assignments. The pace of the assignments allowed for as much flexibility as possible and allowed ample time to learn and apply concepts. I loved that I was able to take the concepts I learned in this class and directly apply them to my own personal tax circumstances. The flexibility of working at my own pace and on my own time.

17. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....

Mr. Kamida is a very nice guy. Mr. Kamida is very knowledgeable on income taxes. He really knows his material, but it would be nice for him to make things a little more fun. He is a very good instructor that cares about his students. He is a great teacher. He knows what he's talking about and is able to explain complex topics very simply. EXCELLENT! He knows his stuff. He also prepares you for the real world (i.e., not accepting late assignments). Mr. Kamida was the best and great teccher. he teaches you everything you need to know about different tax forms and practice completing forms and read the chapter and learn from his helpful videos. It really helped me and I love this tax class. :) Roy Kamida is a very understanding instructor, who anticipates his students questions and needs in his course. He is ready with easy to understand answers, that is if he hasn't already addressed the question somewhere on his class site. I thought he was a good teacher. His examples explained some of the concepts that were unclear in the textbook. He is an awesome Professor and wish I could take all my required classes for my degree with him. He is very knowledgeable in all his courses. Mr. Kamida has a way of teaching the course to where I can understand the materials that are being taught. You have some advanced and some not so advanced students and he just has this way of making me feel that we are on the same level. Mr. Kamida is very nice. He always answers e-mails promptly and answers all questions as best as he possibly can. Take him!! He won't let you down. His lectures are very helpful and the assignments are really clear. That I would recommend him to any student in a heart beat. He's really nice and understanding. He helps every student as much as possible. He wants his students to succeed and learn by making them practice real life situations through tax. He's encourages students to ask questions which is inviting because not all teachers are as inviting to ask questions, he's friendly. He is a very excellent professor and I have recommended him to numerous students. I feel that he is one that wants his students to pass and will do everything he can to help them if they ask for it. He is by far the best online professor I have ever had! He offers so many different tools for learning the material. He answers emails almost instantaneously, and give great guidance. One thing that did catch me off guard, was that he responds to emails immediately, where teachers from my past online classes, took at least 5hrs - two weeks to reply. Impressive. Again I truely enjoyed taking this class and will take away very useful knowledge of tax preparation. Roy is extremely helpful and practical in his approach of teaching taxes. I enjoy the video lectures in which he provides his own experiences, knowledge, and reasoning. I also appreciated the way he interacted with the class by being open to answering our questions, sending out assignment reminders, and posting some fun articles/material related to the course subject (my favorite had to be the president's tax return). Although this is a distant learning class, Roy's interaction with the class made this class seem not so distant, and as such, it was much easier to approach him through e-mail for help. Mr. Kamida is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed that he incorporates the VITA program for his students in place of the projects. I learned so much more about customer service, special tax situations, and a variety of real-life applications that I wouldn't have necessarily learned from using fictitious information. I was able to work on my own taxes as well and again learned so much about how to help myself, my family, my business, what credits I should incorporate for coming years and so much more. It's been a pleasure being in Mr. Kamida's online course and I'm especially glad I was able to work with him in the VITA program and a real-life learning situation.

I am very happy to have been a part of this class and it was a most positive learning experience. Looking back, I wish I could have anticipated the extra time I needed to study the capital gains and losses chapter. Nothing. I enjoyed teh course Nothing. I would like simple tax forms to fill out for homework. None. Not having a professional relationship with my instructor I would rather attend an in-class Nothin loved it, Mr. kamida is a great teacher!!! Hard time to comprehend text book assignments I feel this course is much more difficult than the first course. The workload is larger in quantity and hard to understand. I don't know how to make this easier to teach, but I found this course very hard to understand all the concepts. I thought the class could have used a little more extra credit opportunities. In my experience I wish that there was more of an open discussion among students so that we could more easily learn among our peers. However, Roy Kamida did post some questions and responses that he received from students relevant to course concepts and assignments. I did find this helpful in providing me with information about some things I was not sure about. n/a n/a At times, I would get lost with all of the tax terms that you write in your class messages. Not much communication with classmates.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

There are so many things I like about this online course experience, but primarily because this class is very organized and structured. You will know exactly what to expect, therefore, saving you time and energy. This class allows you the flexibility of learning on your own time schedule and provides realistic expectations. Communication with Mr. Kamida was excellent and he goes above and beyond timely communication--I don't think you will find anyone else that responds to emails faster than Professor Kamida. I appreciated having been able to utilize the same textbook from ACC 134. Mr. Kamida could have made us purchase the 2011 version, but he was thoughtful to save us money by having us turn in tax reports from our 2010 textbook. A pleasant surprise for me was that I almost can appreciate the enjoyment you can get from completing a tax return -- something I never thought I could do. Thank you Mr. Kamida. Mr. Kamida always was there for your help and always responded in a timely manner. Professor Kamida's lecture videos really help you to understand the subject being taught. He responds quickly to questions and keeps us well informed. i liked the videos that helped study each chapter. Knowing the schedule of the howmeworks and test give me the ability to adjust my schedule to do the homework and test without scramming. Flexibility, good communications with instructor. I liked that there was videos on the chapters that we could watch. I really help me understand the concepts more. Convenience of studying from home Everything is at your fingertips with a computer and online access for studying. I liked how the videos for each chapter were done. They were very helpful and taught the material well. I love taking online courses. The main advantage for me is that they allow a lot of flexibility as far as allowing students a greater time frame to sign on and participate in the course. lecture videos convenient and able to fit easily into my schedule I liked that we had all week to do an assignment because of my busy work schedule. The video lectures were excellent. The video lectures helped me very much to understant the material and to apply.

17. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....

Roy Kamida is an excellent teacher--the best online teacher that you could have. He is very timely when responding to questions and provides a systematic, consistent learning schedule that does not leave you guessing. LCC is very fortunate to have such dedicated professors that truly love teaching and want students to succeed. The material in this class is paced so that it will not overwhelm you. Mr. Kamida has utilized Laulima so there are many resources for students, and especially helpful are his online video lectures. I surely hope that any student wondering what this class is like, will read these evaluations so they will know that this class is a most positve experience and one that they will have been glad to be a part of. He is a great instructor EXCELLENT! he is a very good teacher. A very great educator who knows his profession really well. Excellent. Mr. Kamida is a walking, talking tax master robot, and the fastest emailer in The West. There is no one more qualified to teach taxes in the known universe. Bravo! 15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

The website used. Nothing. Everything was enjoyable. The only thing that makes it hard is not being able to have an immediate answer to questions. The long and tedious assignments. The exam questions occasionally didn't seem to be covered in the homework and quizzes. I can't really find anything that I didn't like about this class. It's just hard to keep up with the learning part with the 50 questions it's just a little to much questions It's hard to get an immediate answer when I have questions. How there was three things to do each week. HW, learnsmart, and a test. The course itself is very difficult. You really have to dedicate a good amount of time studying the course. it is a bit difficult for me because I am only getting used to distance learning. However, the professor is very easy to access and quick to respond. I think everything was fine since it was an online class. It was a little difficult trying to learn things on our own and not really having a teacher show it to us physically. However, this class was fine. Nothing about this course really disappointed me. My only concern was that Accounting material is a very hard subject to grasp and taking it online may have not been my best decision.Nothing to do with the course though. The only thing frustrating was when I couldn't connect to the course material at certain times when I wanted to. Other than that, it was great. i have freedom course time. Didn't dislike anything. The online course was tougher than I had expected, even if I had read the sections we needed. Must have lots of time to be able to do his assignments in a timely manner. This class was tough, we had to learn all of the material on our own and on our own time. Also doing assignments were very time consuming. I didn't find anything I didn't like about this class. Nothing The format can seem like a virtual maze making it difficult to find what you are looking for. Well sometimes the web site wouldn't let me sign in, i think it had to do with the amount of people taking the exams at the same time. Staying in front of a computer listening to a lecture. This particular course lacks relationship building and classroom participation, for example student-teacher and student-student interfacing via forums. -Too many new terms and concepts to learn for a 101 ACC course... -300 points is a bit high for a 30 question exam... -The homework was not as hard as the exam questions... Four exams were a little too much, but they were worth an amount that was not too much nor too little for our overall grade. I just didn't like the fact that it was an online class. I tend to not like taking online classes because it lacks the immediate face to face interactions with the professors that is very valuable to learning a difficult subject like accounting. Especially when learning a difficult chapter, it is tough to really grasp the material when doing it on my own. The one thing I disliked was the numerous extra credit assignments at LCC. I'm a full-time student at UH Manoa and work 30 plus hours a week. There is no way I can attend an on-campus extra credit assignment at noon or in the morning. Professor K did offer alternative extra credit assignments however, I believe he didn't give an alternative extra credit assignment for the last on campus extra credit opportunity. It was my first time taking an online course. I'm more of a in-class student so it was challenging not having that personal interaction with the teacher.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

The supplemental videos. Lots of material to help supplement the readings. How easily I could work with Mr. Kamida if I needed help and how fast he responded to e-mails. also, he is a very organized teacher, the course was very easy to follow. the information that i learned. I liked that everything was steadily paced throughout the semester. Easy to follow the schedule. The way it is set up Convenience of moving ahead of schedule and completing assignments early. You have the convenient of taking your time to think. I like how you can learn a lot by doing the hw, learnsmart, and tests. Even though it's a lot, it helps you out with exams. The thing I like the most is the lecture slideshow that he has available for us. I am able to watch the lecture multiple times and rewind it if I did not understand it. You can't do that with a face to face class. I liked how everything was clearly organized. Instead of things being due all over the week, I like how everything was due on Sunday. Even though the material was very hard for me to understand, Professor Kamida offered a very useful textbook as well as supplementary videos that helped me throughout the homework assignments and quizzes. I also liked how the workload was laid oout in advance for the semester with due dates clearly given because it gave me a sufficient amount of time to plan our my schedule being that this is an online class working around my other classes. Material was put out with ample time to complete it and the class followed a well-patterned schedule of assignments each week. This online course required much more time and studying but Mr. Kamida alleviated the studying with his videos and quick responses to your questions. I think I got more attention from him online than I would in a classroom. He is that responsive. Excellent course. it worked with my schedule i like do homework part. i help me to understand and practice the chapter. I like that he offered extra credit to you for going to accounting workshops because it helps you. I liked learning about assets and liabilities throughout the course. Helps understand how real life situations actually are. Would like some better explanations though at time. I liked being able to have the reference available like the book when doing the assignments, quizzes, and exams. I like that everything was organized and the homework wasn't too much or too little. Anytime I emailed professor Kamida he was prompt to respond. He also had a lot of videos and even posted some online games to help us study accounting. The convenience. This course has nothing to do with my major...but learning how to fill out forms and what documents are needed in order to run a small business will always come in handy. Flexibility. Appreciate the ability to work at my own schedule. I thought this online course was helpful to me in a way that I was able to learn at my pace and log on to do work assignments throughout the week. The LearnSmart module was very helpful and allowed reinforcing in what I had read. -The assignments were easy to access online... -It was pretty quick to complete the homework... Too much to list. 1. Kamida seemed to respond to email INSTANTLY. 2. Homework was very easy and a large portion of our grade making it a more pleasant experience. 3. Kamida was on top of it and sent our emails once or twice a week helping the students out with reminders 4. LOTS of opportunity for bonus 5. VERY helpful in any situation. Gave me an override when I did not deserve one. I really liked how organized he made this course. The assignments and what was expected of us was very easy to realize. The Connect Accounting website where we did and sub,itted al of us assignments was very well laid out and it was easy to see what was due and when it was due as well. Professor K responds to e-mails very quickly! workload assignments and grading were fair It was convenient in that I was given the entire week to complete assignments at my own pace The same assignments were due for each chapter - homework, learnsmart, and a quiz. Roy made it clear in the beginning what was expected to pass this course. He never made last minute changes, was always willing to help, and responded fast to emails. Never a moment where he left me disappointed.

Great! Excellent professor who ensures all students understand the material and passes the class. He is AWESOME!! A little difficult but very well organized. He's very helpful and goes the extra step. Mr. Kamida answers questions in a timely matter, most times the day the question was sent. He explains things so you get it the first time. I would take more classes from him in the future. He's good at being an online teacher Very informative, updates class in a timely manner. Mr. Roy Kamida is a great instructor. His videos really helped a lot. Very good. He's a really go online teacher and always replies to my messages when ever I need help or ask for questions. I know that if I had him in a real class and not online, he'd be as helpful as he was online. Great. Aside from the course being difficult, which I need to work on myself, he is a great professor to take an online course with. Very prompt to respond if you have any questions or concerns. This class was really good an helpful. Even though it was an online class, it may have been a little difficult, but Mr. Kamida really gave us the materials that we needed to understand the material. Professor Kamida is a great instructor! Explains things very well and keeps the course extremely organized! He is a very good teacher who handles the online class requirements well. Excellent teacher. He knows his material well. I've had him for two semesters now and will continue to look for his classes. Excellent rpy kamida is good teacher. when i have questions, he always can explain well to me. Some things weren't clear because it was a online class, but he offered plenty of help. We just had to advantage of that help. Roy Kamida is a good professor but he doesn't even get to change the questions or answers for the quiz's etc. I had trouble at one point and I wasn't able to get a change in my answer, even if I felt my answer was correct for real life situations. He is a good professor, just that he didn't really interact with us much. Everything had to be done on our own time. A very helpful and explains subjects very well. good teacher, understandable. The time constraints that he provides with his assignments are more than sufficient, and the amount of homework he requires is reasonable and encourages his students to prepare for the exams. Mr. Kamida does an excellent job of making himself available for questions and responds in a very timely manner. Great...this class was very challenging...I'm glad I was able to learn something new. Great instructor. Although it is clear Mr. Kamida understands his material, the instructor came across as possessing limited insight towards adult learner objectives, especially the added challenges of juggling multiple high priorities at work, school and home. For example, the instructor's comments in response to an isolated real-life emergency appeared thoughtless and narrow of scope, lacking sincere interest in this student. As a result of the emergency, a one-day extension on an assignment was requested and granted but not without after having been made to feel that the request was a mismanagement of time, rather than the emergency that it truly was. It was stunning to receive what was perceived as a callous response from an educator to whom monies are paid for his instruction. Relationship building is crucial for success in all areas of life. The challenge of an online classroom does not remove the need to build these relationships, but rather is even more critical in ensuring communication leads to student success. A lack of individual interest from the instructor can have a long-term, negative effect on a student's interest and ultimate success throughout the course. Mr. Kamida is a very informational instructor who knows accounting very well and knows how to deliver the objectives of this course. I would definitely recommend others to take his course. Wish I had him in class. His videos and emails throughout the semester were helpful! One of the best professors of the entire UH system. Possibly the best online prof I have and ever will have. I generally like professor kamidas course a lot and I would definitely recommend this course to other students that plan to take this course. 9/10. An awesome professor. Great instructor. He is great teacher that is always willing to make sure his students understand the work and help his students in any way possible. Fantastic instructor! Good course materials and follow-up. Highly recommended! A helpful instructor. Mr Kamida is an excellent online instructor. I wish other instructors at LCC would follow his format. His power point lectures are very good, the way he explains and make notes right on the slides help a lot, it almost seems like you are in class. He responds to e-mails and questions right away, this helps tremendously. Some instructors will take a few days to respond. I would definitely recommend Mr Kamida to other students. Professor Kamida is very nice and helpful. Two thumps up for him. Whenever I had a question whether regarding the material of our course or a personal matter that I had encountered, Mr Kamida responded very quickly and attentively. He is kind and I would recommend him to another student. MR. Kamida is very knowledgeable about accounting. His videos are very helpful. The fact that he built his website into Laumila was very helpful and made it very easy for me to find info needed about the course or accounting. Fantastic, I was lucky to have him as an instructor. I liked that he would always respond in a timely manner. Mr. Kamida is quick to respond to questions, and has more than adequate resources conveniently placed in the website. I liked the lecture videos its like same as in class. I like the flexibility of online classes and this class was exceptional. Mr Kamida makes this class enjoyable and easy to learn. I can "go to the classroom" any time. The option to retake Quizez really helped me to maintain a good grade For this class, I liked the videos Mr. Kamida prepared for each chapter. Although I signed up for an online class, I still appreciate the time he took to prepare the video so that my online class was as close as it could be to an "on site" class. The video lectures were the biggest help to me. The teacher always responds to questions. The grades were able to view at all times. I really enjoyed the videos which was very helpful. The handouts were also great. Flexibility very easy to follow and understand The instructor because he is constantly communicating with his students and providing information when needed such as answering questions that we have. I liked that it was well organized. I liked how there were videos we could watch, making it feel like we we're actually sitting in a class room learning the materials. The ease of the on-line course. Very easy to follow! The instructor provides many resources to guarantee success for the students: vidoes for each chapter which are like 'mini-lessons' that we can watch at our own convenience, powerpoint presentations, etc... The open communication with the teacher makes it extremely easy to succeed in this class. The convenience. It was flexible with my schedule. We were well prepared by the various messages from Professor Kamida to achieve an A in this course if we completed each task on a timely manner. If you failed it's your own fault. I loved his on-line video's!!!! They were soooo helpful especially when you had forms to fill out. it was straight forward and gave me enough time to read through the chapters and turn in my assignments. That I can work ahead (my first son was born during the semester - working ahead has saved my life). Thorough Online courses are easy for me because of my busy schedule. I also tend to learn more if I read what needs to be done, rather than someone telling me. it was organized well and easy to navigate. I liked the frequent announcements and constant communication by the instructor using the announcement section in Laulima. The video was most helpful to me. I liked the flexibility of being able to work on the course when it fit into my schedule rather than having to go to class. Being a mom with young children I can still stay at home and take care of them and also be a full time student since I am taking classes online. Material was presented in a organized manner and it made learning a great experience. The Flexibility I really liked the flexibility of doing my work at times when it suited my schedule the best The ability to complete my lesson at my convenience and not be obligated to being in a class room at a specific time. Chapter videos. The video lectures. I found them extremely helpful. i like that i can devote a lot of time to each course but i get to choose when. for me, it works best to focus on one subject at a time, online classes let me budget my time how it works best for me. Professor Kamida's lecture videos. I like it because it is easier for me with my work and family schedule. I like almost everything! Very helpful. The interaction with mr.kamida. The requirements for this course were outlined in the beginning of the course, and Professor Kamida sent e-mail reminders each week to remind us what was due and when. This made it a lot easier to be sure I was doing all the required assignments and tests. This course worked well with my class load and work hours. I liked them all. flexibility

Nothing, it was great and really worked with my schedule. Homework, quiz, and exam materials are not available until just before due date. This does not allow students to work ahead or at own pace. I'm sure it's to keep everyone on the same page. None N/A all was good For this class, nothing! N/A There was alot of reading. It would be nice to have the course divided into three courses. I like the online course. None just what was expected the lack of live communication I liked this course. I didn't like how we were not able to communicate with our classmates as much. Theres no link to email them. I would have liked the assignments to have been laid out from the beginning. I would have liked to get to know the class a little better. But being that it is online, that would be harder than being in class. Nothing. n/a The only thing I disliked was the various extra credit opportunities which required your physical presence on campus. I work fulltime and have a 2 year old to care for so I'm unable to physically attend extra credit workshops on campus. Nothing to do with Roy or the course, you can't help that tax words are so invasive and t somewhat boring. n/a That there is very little opportunity to work ahead in this class. I can get about two weeks out, and that's all, because the needed assignments have not been released. I would have preferred to have the work completely done by now. Nothing Nothing. I wish all the assignments were open to do at any time. Nothing. N/A Sometimes I miss the interaction with my fellow students and teacher. It's not quite the same when you aren't in a classroom with them. However, I think all the advantages of online classes far outway any disadvantages to me. The flexibility of being able to do assignments any time of the day. The flexibility to do my assignments when I have the time. That even though we are not in a classroom, Roy Kamida is in constant communication with us and is always available to help. I appreciated all the videos and materials he provided. Although I didn't e- mail him regarding about question, I notice that he responded and posted them up for everyone to see. The videos were really helpful into understanding the chapter topics. What I liked most about the course is that Professor Kamida takes the time to go over materials we might not understand and also relate our current study section to some real-life events. I also like that questions that other students have are posted Anonymously on the site for others to see--I'm sure lots of people also have similar questions, but don't want to ask. The convenience. Being able to work when it is convenient for me, not on a set schedule. Not having to adhere to a set class time. homework not confusing/ overload.

16. What did you like least about your online course experience?

N/A Nothing. N/A I feel that the course is fine overall. If anything, the only problem I have is that the tests are disproportionally difficult in comparison to the weekly assignments. he is very knowledgeable, fair and genuinely cares about his students and their ability to understand the course objectives in Accounting. I was able to apply to the real world, what I learned about financial statements, stocks and other principles of accounting in this course. I have a better understanding of how to read a company's financial statement and make better decisions. I would strongly suggest taking an accounting course from Mr. Kamida, especially if it is your first time taking accounting or you need a refresher. I also liked the fact that Mr. Kamida utilized Laulima to keep post messages relevant to the class assignments and other important information that needed the students attention. Professor Kamida is really great Accounting teacher. He has knowledge and experience in this field thus making him a big help. Goes into depth in discussion, is always available to help especially thru email. good teacher. helps students as much as possible. responds to email within a day or so. Mr. Kamida is a great teacher and his class is really easy to understand. Submitting everything online is wonderful and the consistensy of the assignments made them fool proof. Well done. Mr.Kamida had the assignments spaced out so that everyone could keep up. But he opened up all the assingments so students who wanted to work ahead could. He is a very good professor, not only that his very knowledgable of the subject but also he is very considerate to his students... he gives out extra credit, and that really helps if your scores are kind of short to the grade you want. He understands his professionsal field very well! He is a really good teacher. The only thing that lacks about the class is the time allowed for each chapter & on the exams, there are some minor topics that were never covered during his live classes. Roy is a kind teacher, and i like his style of teaching. Very good I think its just ok. Too much works to do though because every week, we have to do learnsmart, quiz, and homework. No more time for other classes. We only learned from the book which is hard because theres a lot of pages to read. Im hoping that he explained the solutions in the class, not only from the book cos the book is kind of hard o understand too. But hes a nice guy and willing help anytime. Good instructor who seems very experienced in the accounting field. that he is a very helpful teacher and organized but he gets mad at his students when they need help or don't get it right away. everything you need in a teacher! Excellent communication at all times! Roy Kamida is a great teacher in the sense that he really explains each chapter thoroughly because he knows what he is talking about. Also, he has alternative ways of contact for students who have questions and need help. Good teacher if you need to go to the in person class. i think he knows a lot about the subject. Some of what was taught in class was far off from the homework. So I found it difficult. Other than that it was okay. More classwork, group works, & hands-on work would be great! Because when there's too much lecture, you tend to lose the attention of students. The material layout was easy to follow, with a set timeline for assignments. Because I have an online class, I have never met Mr. Kamida; but he has made it clear that his online students are welcome to attend his live classes which makes me believe he is concerned about the success of his students. Professor Kamida is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable about Accounting, and is really helpful if you get confused by a concept and need help. He seems to be online all the time, because he answers emails right away. I never felt like I was helpless if I had a problem. Mr. Kamida gives announcements every week, which helped me keep track of what I needed to do that week. I recommend Mr. Kamida to anyone who needs to take an Accounting class. The online course experience that I liked most was the ability to do the assignments at your own pace, while keeping within the parameters of the due dates and the ability to submit the work online rather than having to upload to Laulima or handwritten assignments. I also liked the Library for students that had different modules that helped you better understand the material of each chapter. All assignments, quizzes, and exams were online. We're able to move on and finish the course before the semester ends. Assignment consistency, ease of access to connect accounting, very easy to understand expectations. I also love the optional live classes- very helpful. That there are many ways to practice for a test or exam I didn't take his online course, but whenever I emailed him, he would respond quickly. It was both a sit inside class and a online class now. I liked that it was online n/a Althought it was an online course, he replied to emails quickly & welcomed students into his sit-in class. The Connect online was very helpful. They have games and quizzes that helps understand the concepts presented in the book. receiving grades fast I enjoyed the prompt return of e mails, Mr. Kamida's patience, and helpfulness. everything is online ebook, homework, learn smart...and on the homework if you inputed a wrong answer it will mark it wrong and it will let you redo it as many as you want. Its efficient I like it because it's convenient & also explains why you got some thing wrong on the assignment. It's also very useful when you don't have the actual book because it has the online version of it as well. It also lets you get ahead on work as well. free The freedom Homeworks, quiz, and exam is online. I dont have to take it in class Scores for homework assignments were given instantly, and was able to resubmit the assignments for a higher grade. I also enjoyed the ability to "check my work" on connect. I didn't take an online course I liked that I could go at my own pace. I also liked that the online course had numerous helpful options just in case I was confused on a specific area of content. That you were free to stop mid way and continue later it was easy to get hw and test done. the time length of the tests however could have been a little longer. the choice to go to the class or to learn from home. Nothing. It was difficult. I guess I learn better in class. Assignments were relatively challenging and if help was needed the material can be easily looked up. Being back in school was what I liked about the course experience. The Material was presented in a way that was clear and efficent I liked the fact that he was very responsive and that he was ALWAYS available to help. I also liked the fact that he made learning fun, especially since for most students, Accounting is a hard subject to learn. - As stated above, I didn't engage in online communication because I didn't need to, but I really enjoyed the outline of the class. Very organized and clear. I liked that I had the opportunity to get ahead and I like that I could do the homework as many times as I needed to because it helped me to learn and cut me some slack when I did calculation errors. I could work at my own pace I loved the course companion site, which is called Connect Accounting. This site has the whole textbook as an e-book, so you can read it on any computer. All the assignments were done through this site and it worked really well. There was a learning tool on this site called LearnSmart which was awesome. It tells you what you need to review based on questions it gives you. Mr. Kamida also had a uploaded a few videos from a prior semester, which were helpful. I also liked that Mr. Kamida was always available by email if I had any questions. I liked the weekly emails or anouncements. I also liked the learn smart thing that we had to do. It really prepared me for tests and quizes. Homework questions and having Ebook readily available when I don't have my text book with me. I liked how simple the course was. Access to the lessons online is great. Although it may be easier to show the teacher what I don't understand and ask for help...I am usually able to figure out answers. Online Classes are convenient I could learn around a busy work schedule. For the homework part of the course, I really liked it that we were given unlimited tries, until we clearly understood the material and were able to learn from it. If we only had one or two tries at the homework, I would not have learned and not have been able to grasp the concept of the chapters and therefore fail my quiz and tests.

16. What did you like least about your online course experience?

I can't think of anything that I disliked. Nothing. A bit fast-paced. Easy to fall behind when not keeping track of due dates. I thought the course was excellent I just wish Mr Kamida would speak more to the students when hes teaching, and ask us what the answers are instead of walking us through everything without our input. Nothing was disliked For our assignments, it didn't have an explanation on how it got its answer. homework. haha The least like was the exam part of the program Connect. The questions were very tricky in a way we wouldn't even understand what its asking for. As students the hw and quizzes were all straight forward but once it came to the exam the questions catches me off guard for I wasn't comfortable with the wording of the questions or what information were extras. n/a Sometimes the site was under maintenance and wouldn't work properly but this was very minimum so overall nothing much was least liked. unable to discuss questions on homewrk I didn't like the wording of some of the online questions. Timed!!! Timed quiz! Timed exam!! i am nervous enough that i am taking the quiz/exam but that clicking sound always plays in my head... then MENTAL BLOCK!!! :( Nothing What I like least about it it that it may not be convenient if you don't have internet. free Reviewing pasts tests are not possible Too much work to do!! Limited internet connection at home. I didn't take an online course. I did not like that each week was a new chapter. I wish I had more time to finish my work because I have other classes to balance out. Overall, it would be helpful if each chapter was taught longer than one week exactly, perhaps nine days versus seven. nothing the time length Not a fan of accounting. That it gave me alot of time to procrastinate. There wasn't much that I didn't like. There was nothing I liked least. Everything was great N/A It was very hard to keep up and understand everything on my own. I honestly liked everything about this online class. I feel that it let me be more independent while learning the material at a good steady pace. I had to keep myself motivated Nothing. Great online class! Nothing much. none The lack of interaction between teacher and student and student and student. That is to be expected tough from an online class. Also, there was not as much extra credit offered to the online class as there was to the live class. He offered to let the online class members come to the live class sessions for certain extra credit projects but not everyone has can access them. The only thing I really didn't like was the inability to turn in late work. I would have liked the opportunity to turn in late work for at least half points. The book does't give all the solutions so I'm not sure if I got the correct answer(s) to the problems. It's hard to not have an instructor there at the very moment you have a question. Unlike a classroom where you would be able to get a quick answer, online meant having to wait (but this was expected).

Mr. Kamida utilized every technology that was available to teach and present the material and class information to the students which is very helpful. The Connect website seamlessly fit into the way that the class was taught without any noticeable glitches. Really great professor for accounting. Would recommend other students to take his course. None It would be helpful to teach students how we could use the excel, how to organize a problem on excel.. Basics would be very beneficial.. AND if the exam is tricky and worded different, it would be great to have some example of the tricky questions so we aren't lost or surprised when it comes to the exam. Attendance should be forced or be apart of the grading policy. on line students should get first access to tutors, since we do not have the luxury of discussing assmnts with professor, when we call tutors for an assmnt due say in this week, we cannot get an appmnt until the following week. It may be a brief question but do not have access to tutors when most needed. I would recommed mr kamida to anyone for accounting Great teacher and really informative course. I cannot say anything wrong about this course... The timed quiz/exam isnt his fault so i wont mark that off of him... i recommend his class Overall, he's just a very good and enthusiastic teacher! We, as students, should take responsibility for our own learning. Some feel they need to go to class, especially if they plan to use this material in the real world. I feel that This online class was set up perfectly for my schedule, career choice, and the way I learn and do my online classes. If you need an Accounting class, this is one of the best online classes you will ever find. Also, Mr. Kamida lets online students attend live class as well if they want, so you get the best of both worlds. Thank you for a great class Mr. Kamida. I have learned so much from your course, and I had a fun time along the way. Enjoyed this Acct 201 class :) The structure of the course was easy and the workload was just right. Mr. Kamida did a good job in selecting this particular book/publisher for his course. A lot of times, i find that teachers disregard doing their research on the books they decide to use and I find that it can be severely detrimental to a student's ability to learn. The book for this class was absolutely wonderful and one of the best I've ever seen regarding a text book. Concepts were broken down just right and did not use wordy jargon. Overall this class has been one of the best learning experiences I've had. I would really like more homework lessons or quizzes that match the lessions in the back of each chapter so that I can check if I'm following the correct procedures or using the right entries. None Professor Kamida made this course enjoyable and easy to learn. I have heard from other students about other online courses and how they are having such a difficult time because their professor is unfair and does not care about the students actually learning. Online course is very difficult to learn from, but Professor Kamida made it less stressful and actually fun.

2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?

For one, this course has gotten me 3 credits closer to achieving my concentration requirements. In addition, this course has taught me the economical impact governmental accounting has on our society. Prior to this course, I didn't think much about governmental accounting. However, after taking this course I have realized that understanding how the government is funded and how they expend resources effects everyone, both nationally and internationally. I understand now why there are increases in taxes and the need for good representation in our government. It helps me prepare for the CPA exam which I am taking next summer I feel like this course has really helped me to prepare for the CPA exam which I plan on taking soon after graduating. I know that governmental and NPO accounting make up a good deal of the exam so that is why I decided to take this course. I'm glad that I did. This course taught me about the government side of accounting and definitely gave me an idea of how much I have to learn to become a CPA. It helped to better understand governmental accounting. The past 4 years, I worked for as admin/fiscal support for UH Manoa and UH Maui College and it helped me put things into perspective so that I know why things were handled the way they were. This course introduced to me the concepts and built a foundation on Governmental Accounting. i learned the difference between business accounting and government accounting. if i ever plan on working in the governmnet sector, this class has taught me alot. full of alot of info This course taught me more about governmental and nonprofit accounting which will help me to further my career choices. I actually like the course content. I may try to get into some form of governmental accounting job. I learned about a lot of terms and organizations involved in governmental accounting. It helped me to understand governmental accounting and fulfill my requirement for an upper- division accounting class towards my bachelor's degree at University of Hawaii West Oahu and the class will help me prepare for the CPA exam. This course helped me to better understand the concepts of governmental accounting. It made me understand the state and government side of accounting. This wasn't to fulfill my major but it will be useful to know things especially since I intend to take the CPA exam. Having someone explain the book with examples and help me through the problems is a great thing. In some areas of the book I felt like there were lacking examples. I learned how the government and non-profit organizations apply management and accounting principles in their day to day transactions. It strengthens my professional skills because of the information and knowledge gain in this course. This course has given me an understanding of the different funds and accounting methods used to account for these funds. didn't really very much I believe that every accounting classes would help me enhance my knowledge regarding accounting and business. I have learned many things in this class such as funds, expenditures, etc. So this class helped me a lot. well, thought me some new material developed a better understanding of governmental and nonprofit accounting. Course was taken to first fulfill my 150 credit CPA licensing requirement and second to assist me with my job as I will be working with non-profits. I have a plan to take CPA exam. This course covers a part of the exam. Thus, this class contents are helpfull to take the exam. It broadens my knowledge of how governmental organization account and report the financial statement

5. Please comment on the activities or resources that could be added to this course to improve your learning.

I thought that there was more than enough resources for this course. Between the videos, powerpoints, and solution guides, many of the important concepts were covered. More examples of journalizing the various entries would be helpful. I know that the quizzes are preparation for the exams but I think that if people could take practice exams that match its content and length, maybe that could help those students who are having trouble passing the exams. I think that for an online class there were plenty of resources and activities to help students learn. For homework, the Mr. Kamida could assign problems, rather than just questions that can be answered thru reading of the text. The majority of the questions on Exam #2 involved problem-solving and I didn't feel well-prepared. He could also further discuss what he will test on prior to each exam to better prepare the class for what's to come. all materials offered were very helpful Great course. NONE. I felt the videos and answers to selected exercises were adequate. Actually making entries or pretending to work for a governmental company. Professor Kamida does not really need to add more activities or resources because the homework assignments, video lectures, powerpoints, chapter notes, email notifications, fast response to emails from students, posting of questions that other student may have, articles on the pretaining subjects, friendly email reminders, etc. that Professor Kamida provides to the class has been very useful in learning the subject. More exercises could help in this course. more hands on homework problems with solutions. I wonder about seeing real life cases. The concept of budgeting is so different to me than regular accounting. Maybe if we were to work through problems a bit more (though what was provided was great), but I understand it takes a lot of time. Better preparation materials for exams. It took extra effort to understand the text/course material. study guide for the exams group work I think practice tests would help us understand the concepts of every chapter a little easier. tutoring It is good as it is. more homework assignments that are related to the midterms and finals. more opportunities to score more points May be putting the lectures on podcast to supplement the learning process. For 8 week summer session, materials and assignments given addressed key topics of governmental accounting. However,condensing the length of the class and material for the class made it harder. It should be taught during a 16 week semester. Textbook sometimes explained well complicated topic/issue. New textbook may be considered. Thought the videos you did were extremely helpful.

I don't think there are any necessary improvements to be made. In this course there were many different variations of learning materials. For me, sometimes it is more helpful to hear and see someone explain and solve problems. I really liked everything about the course, especially the fact that everything was unlocked from the beginning so you can work on the material at your own pace. I like his teaching style just the way it is. As previously mentioned, he could perhaps assign problems and provide explanations or review each homework assignment or exam with us so that we know why the answer we chose was incorrect. Also, the book did not provide really good examples. I felt it was text-driven and could have included more ways of how to show what is being explained in accounting form, thru ledgers, debit/credit format, etc. N/A none. Roy Kamida provide an excellent training platform. We need real life experience rather than reading and answering questions. Professor Kamida does not really need to add more activities or resources because the homework assignments, video lectures, powerpoints, chapter notes, email notifications, fast response to emails from students, posting of questions that other student may have, articles on the pretaining subjects, friendly email reminders, etc. that Professor Kamida provides to the class has been very useful in learning the subject. probably just more homework problems that need to be solved and solutions to help the student work out the problem backwards so they have a better understanding on how the problem was attained to begin with. I can't think of anything additional especially with the time frame given to us for summer. Better preparation materials for exams. a different text book Study guide is needed for his exams. You can watch all the videos and read all the chapters but still not do well on his exams! ahve tutoring More examples on how to solve problems Maybe if there were more problems or questions other than in the book, we would have a better understanding in most of the materials. more homework assignments that are related to the midterms and finals. more opportunities to score more points. giving the students more opportunity to score more points on a daily basis would help use interact more with the class. he seems to just throw everything on us. 17. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....

I thought the instructor did an excellent job, given the time constraints of a summer course, in teaching me about Governmental Accounting. I also think that the videos are a good addition to the course, I don't think any of the other online courses I've taken offered them. very helpful, answered emails promptly, and is very accessible. Great instructor, the online video lectures are very helpful. I have taken a number of classes from Professor Kamida and as always he is always there for us students encouraging us and constantly reminds us that he is always available so to ask him questions if we are not sure. I would highly recommend any of his classes I've taken Professor Kamida before as he was my first accounting instructor back in ACC 201 and I've really enjoyed taking his class again. I like his instruction style and he is very quick to respond when you need something from him. I wish more professors at UH were like Roy. Great teacher He's a good teacher, really responsive considering we don't have face-to-face contact. very prompt when responding to students e-mails and questions. good teacher...wish he would teach in regular semester than summer :) even though i never met him in person I feel he is a great teacher. He was quick to respond to e-mails, and he posted great "etra" reading materials related to the field of accounting Mr. Kamida was well prepared for this course. He answered e-mails quickly and supplied me with enough information and lectures to understand the material. Having all of the homework and exams open was helpful and allowing me to finish the course ahead of schedule. Roy Kamida provide an excellent training platform. (A+)grade. Good but not tough a great professor, who is willing to do anything to help his students learn the subject manner in different ways. He not only teaches, he incorporates what we learn and use current events to fully understand the subject matter. Unlike some teachers, he is quick answer questions that I had during the course, especially through email. He also shares those questions and answers through announcements to the whole class for them to know as well. He uses great resources and shares valid information other than just from the textbook, but from articles. He also helps in prepare students for the CPA exam too. A great instructor and would love to take a course with him again. A great professor that really knows his stuff. I enjoyed the class and the examples and lectures. I think he did an excellent job. Prof. Kamida is very knowledgeable in his field. He explains topics in a understandable way by starting from the basic concepts to the topic itself. He gives us good illustrations and articles related to the course. He is very prompt on answering our emails and concerns. He is also a considerate person. Knows what he is doing and very organized and timely. He seems to be understanding and gracious being that the material was quite hard to grasp. tough class He is very knowledgeable and its very easy to understand his lecture videos. It is great since it is a summer school class. The amount of work given was just right because it's a fast pace, so overall, two thumbs up! Good instructor, just a difficult course for summer Professor Kamida is an awesome professor. He would always give reminders (emails) to the students about homework and when grades are posted up after due dates of homework and exams. His videos are very helpful. He's an ok teacher. I think his powerpoints are not that helpful or detailed enough for the midterms or exams. Good instructor. very helpful to understand materials and concepts of this class because Dr. Roy Kamida makes online lecture on each chapter. It is very helpful to understand materials and concepts. I enjoyed taking this course. I wish all my classes provided the same type of learning experience that was offered here. good foundation of governmental accounting. Complex subject matter made simpler to understand by the instructor. I loved this course and would recommend it to anyone that might want to work in the governmental accounting field or who wants to become a CPA. Good class It was OK, but there is great need for improvement. great class. HARD subject matter, but Kamida was great at how he organized the material, especially for a summer course :) Challenging summer course but very doable with a strict schedule and alot of studying. Purchasing another book called Governmental Accounting Made Easy helped to further my understanding the the material. This course opened my eyes to a form of accounting that I may consider doing. This was a great class for me. The book was very confusing to understand. a great course, which I would recommend this course for other students and especially having Professor Kamida as a professor. Great! I really liked the class. Mr. Kamida really helps the students and really cares about the student being able to do well in his class. This is a tough course, maybe having it for a full semester may be better for me. I don't know how others feel about it but I feel like it is really new material. This course helped me to understand how the government manage their resources and the accounting principles/system that they use for every government branches. Challenging due to summer length, but reasonable amount of time given to complete homework assignments and exams. tough but good learning experience ok I enjoyed the class but I only wished it was taught during fall and spring semester too. Hard Course which makes it difficult to separate the instructor from the course. This course wasn't so bad as I expected it to be. The thought of accounting made me thought there would be lots of calculations, but Governmental Accounting is very interesting to learn about because it's different from the other accounting classes I took. The powerpoints and videos were very helpful in learning the materials than just reading from the textbook that had no pictures at all. it's hard. i'm not sure if i'll take a lot away from this class but hopefully i learned something. Very informative. Good prep for the CPA exam. very helpful and understandable to learn complex materials. I like the content of this course. Great class. I would definitely recommend this class to others.

1. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?

The fact that the class is online and that the professor is available for help. Being able to go to work and still take a summer course. The videos helped with clarifying some material and concepts. The unlimited trials of quiz and homework were also helpful. I think the book working in conjunction with the Wileyplus program was very helpful. The fact that our text and assignments were aligned made the course easier to understand. Although I did not use them often, I'm sure the videos were also very helpful. I also think the project helped me learn a lot and really understand the material. Wiley Plus system was very organized and useful. The chapter videos given to us. Along with the lecture notes. I found all of it informative. It is all useful. Video lectures and handouts. The aspects that were most valuable to me was the understand of money management and how buisness need to stricly manage their money. ALL Powerpoint video lectures. The video lectures were the most helpful aspects of this course. They really helped to clarify the information presented in the book and they helped me to retain information. The homework and the quizzes were most helpful as they made sure students need to understand the material before attempting the test. Not a heavy workload on homework, but good to apply the lessons in a real-life situation. the self study web quizzes, the videos, the homework that it was offered online Learning how to journalize transactions and adjust entries. The project really helped in applying and understanding how to do it. The convenince of not having to drive to school. I think all of what we learned was valuable. For example, learning about the different Financial Statements was really important throughout the course and I think will be important in later courses.

2. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?

N/A The test questions were usually tricky and I thought the questions were difficult. I would have liked the quiz questions to be explained, so I could understand the problems I got incorrect. I think it was too easy to have the quizzes' answers in the book already. If the grading system were more like the homework, I think that would be better (you can try until you get it right, but it doesn't give you the answer until after the deadline). Quiz and tests did not go side by side with the material studied. The text book. Everything we needed for this class was online on Wiley. Nothing. -- The most least valuable aspects of this course was the book by itself. just reading the book was not enough to complete assignments well. None Every tool that was provided was valuable so I couldn't say that there was anything that was least valuable. I really didn't like how the book starts out with a very simple explanation of material and then with each chapter things get more and more complex. For me it just made things more confusing because it seemed like I was re-learning the information with each chapter rather than adding on to what I already knew. I also hated not having a glossary in the book. Whenever I needed to look up a term or try to find the page that a particular equation was on I had to literally go and re-read what was in each chapter or read all of the glossary's at the end of each chapter. I like the idea of having cheaper books but the majority of students are going to go on to the next accounting class so it would be nice to have the option to just buy the entire book. There was nothing that did not help me. Some of the textbook material was hard to understand. Thankfully, doing the homework was what helped me understand the material more. none The wiley plus progrm has set backs like login issues, the hw could be more in synch with the book so that at test times the information is understood better. Also maybe an interactive section in the homework would make it easier. none The exams were absolutely horrible, they didn't follow out book!If I had a hard time with a question I coudn't really reference my book because the book and exam weren't cohesive. Supposedly our book was made specifically for out school, which in turn means that it wouldn't follow that of the Wiley website; so maybe that's why the exams and book didn't flow. Some of the questions were worded weird too. All in all the exams were aggravating and frustrating! I don't think there are any invaluable aspects in this course, it was filled with very valuable information.

11. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

He's available and he responds quickly. Professor Kamida had helpful slideshows and replied quickly to emails. He kept the class alert by posting "fyis" and emailing students. Quick responses to e-mail. He seems very concerned with helping his students succeed. I am not sure. Fast replies for emails and the videos he made were really helpful. Mr. Kamida was clear and concise about what he expexted from his students, have notes of encouragement along the way, and promptly answered questions. I would take any class he teaches. Has a nice voice and is easy listening. He was able to respond quickly to emails and questions. His videos were very helpful and clearly presented. He is very clear on instructions and explanations Roy Kamida is very responsive. He answered any questions that I had related to solutions or other course related materials. I like the pace of the video lectures and found them very helpful. I really liked having the video. I also like having a due date for each assignment versus just having a mass due date for everything. Finally, I think that the timing for the class is perfect, there is enough time to get through each chapter but not enough time to ignore the class and forget what you've learned. He responded to emails quickly. Gave help quickly when requested. quick to respond back to emails he is very prompt to return e-mails His explanations, videos, and quick response to e-mails How prompt he was with email responses. :-) He really understood what was going on and he further clarified with the book said in his video lectures. The video lectures were VERY helpful in the course and convenient. He put up assignments that were very helpful when learning about the different topics, and they never seemed useless at all.

12. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?

N/A N/A I'm not sure it was clear that the surveys would be due before the end of the session. I missed the first one and so lost an easy 10 points :( Very hard to get in touch and there were no review sheet or work before the exam. Too dependent on Wiley Plus and his videos were not updated and very low quality. None. Nothing. Sometimes the penmanship was difficult to read. Although, it was probably because of technical difficulties. Not having face to face interaction, but that is the nature of the online course. nothing He was always helpful..so I honestly don't have anything negative to say about him. Sometimes things that I learned from the book or video didn't match up to the answers for the homework and I didn't feel like I understood what I had learned wrong. nothing Sometimes didn't give me clear enough explanations so I struggled on some parts of the homework (was eventually able to figure things out though). none everything was great nothing!~ n/a I don't think there is any "least valuable and helpful" thing about him because he taught very well and was always prepared.

I really enjoyed this class. I found it to be challenging but rewarding. I will definitely be recommending it to other students and taking the next class in the sequence. 1. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?

The hands on assignments and reviewing them for accuracy. I thought the videos were the most helpful. I felt it easier for me to learn when someone is explaining things to me. Especially since tax is a difficult subject to understand, it helped to listen the explanation. the part where we started working on the tax documents. knowing what's the right form for certain situations. it's also very important to know how to do it accurately because one mistake messes up everything. The amount of content available to students was really helpful. Things such as the Learning modules, guidelines, and chapter folders were essential in providing adequate resources for students to learn every aspect of the course. Videos since I attend on-line classes. Roy Kamida is exceptionally well in putting together powerpoint demonstrations and examples for online participants. The amount of information that was given. The video is very valuable to understand more tax. Also, his lecture is useful. learning how to complete all tax forms and practice like in real life, watching videos are helpful,doing exams online and posting grades,and doing multiple choice test. Great start to learning how to do tax returns Having both live help and online resources. Preparing tax forms and Volunteering. All of the information about the tax laws are valuable. This course has helped me in understanding the laws much better than before taking this class. The Videos and the VITA! Mr. Kamida's teaching skills are very efficient. He knows what is needed to learn and applies it in the class room for his students! Video's without a doubt! completing the practice portion at the end of each chapter. Everything about this cours were valuable because I can take the materials learned in the real world throughout my life, especially during tax season. The videos were helpful in understanding the concepts of each chapters. I also enjoyed doing the assigned weekly activities. Instructors video-cam with details instructions of courses homework, assignments and how to /explanation of Tax studies. Laulima/online is very organized. Instructor is always on call, willing to work with student and answers reply to email often, very valuable. The lecture videos posted on Laulima In my opinion the most valuable aspects of the course was being able to communicate with the instructor within a virtual enviornment. I also appreciated the detailed syllabus and week to week announcements. The video lectures. Although it was an online class it made it feel as if it was a live class. His explanation and examples were great and helped understand the material better. The mid-semester project was useful in applying what we had learned. I also depended a lot on Mr. Kamida's lectures. He put complex terms into "real life" and used situations or examples that I could easily relate to. He explains thoroughly so, you understand completely. I thought the video lectures were the most valuable. Professor Kamida simplified the information in the text book and added other pertinent information we needed to know. I feel the projects in conjunction with the weekly assignments and tests were very valuable. I also found that the weekly activities where we were encouraged to ask questions very informative. The videos I found were the most valuable. Especially being in an online setting, the videos really help. the entire course I think that the videos for each chapter were the most valuable. Often the concept was easier to understand while watching the video. Being an online class, which allowed me to get to the work when it was convieninet for me. The projects that gave the opportunity to actually fill out forms and put into practice the theory that was taught were the most valuable to me. It allowed me to see how the IRS expected the forms to be filled, and compare the results of the theory formulas to the formulas on the IRS worksheets. learning everything that can get me certified in becoming a taxpayer is what i find most valuable. The material that was given can be used for years to come to guide me when doing other peoples taxes. Learning each tax form in depth was extremely important. Learning abour Tax credits. Almost all of them. I have been filing my own taxes for a few years now, and it was good to see some of the other deductions and credits I might be available for in the future. All of the projects and weekly assignments were very helpful in applying the material. The knowledge of how the taxation process is related to real life situations This course gave me a chance to understand the Form 1040 because honestly I would only be interested in Line 74a or 76. Each section of the 1040 has be teach at a fair pace I did not feel overwhelm much to my surprise. I think doing the quizzes for homework were very important quality of the course. That way we could see if what we got wrong and ask ourselves why we get our answers wrong, benefiting by understanding it. For me all the aspects of this course were really eye opening and helpful in many ways. This course had a lot of information to retain but int he future these things will be very very useful in my personal situation. The course was most valuable because we learn information about tax seasons. Everything in the course was valuable because in life we can pertain to situations that we learned in class. 2. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?

There is a lot of resources that I didn't use from the textbook Website, like the additional problems or quizzes. I thought the course was run very well with a lot of supporting information. However, if I had to choose I would say that I thought that the chapter quizzes were the least valuable. everything was pretty much important soo i would say there's nothing that is least valuable. Some of the classes were cut short a lot of the times and I feel as though we could have used more time in class to discuss the work more. Some of the announcements such as the students Q&A. I would prefer for those to show up under the "Discussion Board". Nothing none at this time. :) None None, all aspect were valuable to me. I believe all aspects were valuable. The incorrect answers on the quizes. Thank God for classmates who catch them! A student can lose confidence in the text book due to these types of errors. None! N/A n/a None, I understood most of the tax studies. However, sometimes as a student ,(this is just an opinion of how I feel as a student,it does point to Kamida as an instructor at all) it's very hard to keep up the the course study, due to other obligations in life, like family, children, and personal or physical problems. I only hope instructors can be patient and always keep an open mind and door to people life situations and still be willing to assist. No complaints as of yet The least valuable aspects of this course were being able to socialize with other class mates. However, I do understand that by doing everything manually we get a better understanding of the lessons being taught. I didnt so much like the online part especially next time with an accounting class like taxes especially should be done in class room settings. Overall there was really nothing that WASNT valuable for future references. I don't own a home, so that section for homeowners was least valuable for me. Some deductions were really confusing. The guidelines are so complicated. I feel that all parts of this course are valuable. none Each aspect learned is this course is very valuable. My dad started his own Roofing company and I am the one who will be doing all the office work so to speak, so taking this class really helped me to see and break down all the taxes that are involved and need to be paid, as wll as how to pay them and when to pay them, knowing if there are penalties involved and breaking down the whole step by step process. 11. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

He's great at answering e-mails and keeping us informed of opportunities that can help us grow outside of the classroom. For example, on his page there are links to job wanted ads, IRS regulations, information about becoming a CPA, and current events on and off campus. I thought that it was very helpful for the professor to post questions asked by the other students in the announcements section. Often times students have the same questions, so it was helpful for me to see the answers to some of the questions I had. the videos online were very important for me because i can always go back and watch it again. He knows a lot about his subject and it shows through the knowledge he passes on to students. See comment for Question 1. He always asks if there are questions during class. His video is very helpful and useful to understand this class. And, his response is very quickly when asking question. He explains how to complete tax forms and in textbooks, what to know in real life, and plans and organized ahead of time online and in live class.He puts videos for all chapters online. He is a very good teacher and explains what's important and on the test. :) Having both live help and online resources. Followed the syllabus. Constant updating. I found everything I learned in Acct 134 valuable in helping me prepare my own taxes for the year. Multiply choice questions and the solutions for each chapter was very helpful in studying for my tests. He's very knowledgable about the subject. He explains things in a concise manner. He responds quickly to e-mails and questions, very patient and thorough! He explains so clearly that i had no questions to ask of him. I got the homework done when needed. He repeats important tasks so we don't forget the order of what to do. Providing the answer to end of chapter questions so we can check our work, working through a number of problems at the end of each chapter. His tax knowledge He responds to emails quick and everything was so organized to browse around. He is very knowledgeable about taxes and pass his info to students. He is very willing to help. But he is so valuable as an instructor that most students talk/work with him, that he is very busy. So, many times he can only help certain students. Need more instructors like him. Mr. Kamida is very quick to respond to emails and is VERY helpful. His lecture videos make this course so much easier to understand. His knowledge of the course. If he did not know the answer he would go that extra mile to find it out. The work flow of the course was not to fast. The time limit to finish each material. It seems he is always near his computer as responses are very quick and well explained. I also liked that he posts questions from other students, with his answer, on the announcement board. As students, we usually run into the same problems. He is also fair in his grading as he allows you to appeal test grades if you feel the answer is incorrect. Professor Kamida is extremely knowledgeable in the subject matter and I thought it was great that he answered our personal tax questions. The thing that I found the most helpful was Mr. Kamida's weekly assignments where students were to ask questions about the chapters or current events. He's always available when you need the help (if needed). He explains everything in detail and when other students have questions, he shares it with the entire class. respond to emails in a timely fashion He relates the content to real tax situations that we might have. He was avaialable for questions anytime. Roy provides immediate responses to questions, and provides enough resources (Powerpoint presentations, video lectures, PDF forms and instructions from the IRS) to learn each lesson. Even if you were taking his class online he encouraged all his students to come to his live lectures, he was always open for discussion to help each and every one of us out. Takes the time to record all his live lectures, make extra powerpoints and detailed notes to help guide us if we get lost. Videos and quick responses He was always quick to acknowledge and answer our questions. He was very good when responding to e-mails, and kept the class informed of issues other students might be having in case we had the same problems. He also gave us multiple opportunities for extra credit to help us. He provides so much information on line through announcements and is so quick on getting back to e-mails and questions. He was always quick to respond to any question about the material discussed The video are informative and give you a better understanding of each new concept. It was especially helpful when he used the pen in the video I feel its interactive and not just a video. Mr. Kamida has been active responding to any questions from students. I like that he posts reminders. He is very nice and answers questions right away (email). For me I didnt really get a chance to know him, because it was an online class but when I did have questions, he did answer them in a timely manner and I didnt get any brush offs from him. He was always quick to respond and answer questions. He was very prompt in grading, and the turn around of assignments. I found most valuable about Mr. Kamida is that when I emailed him, I got a response within the next hour. He gets back to me as soon as he could. His video lectures.

12. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?

Nothing at all Nothing really. He is a great teacher! the way he lecture online and in live class is the same but it's kinda boring when we're in class because sometimes he tend to put things very slow which made me say that videos online were really helpful because we can go and watch, rewind, fast forward and stuff like that. He can sometimes cancel classes or make them too short. He is available by e-mail and in person for questions or concerns. Nothing none at this time :) none I found the chapter videos the least valuable but helpful for the days I miss class. N/A Nothing, he was always helpful and valuable. Mr. Kamida posts videos for his students so we can see how the tax forms are filled out. This helps us to apply what we see to our homework assignments. N/A n/a Nothing. None I think the discussion board was not used adequately. In other online classes I've taken, posting was more efficient than in this class. Rather than a long string of comments, or posting in the Assignments module, we were able to post to various topics in the Discussion Board. That did not happen in this class. Like i said previously theres nothing that wasnt valuable everything we did, read, or discussed was pretty much well needed and used more than once. na Nothing. There were a couple of classes he did live online. I found them really helpful and interesting. Hopefully more instructors will consider using technology for all it has to offer today. good job but need to change teaching techniques because students will get bored if the same technique will be used next time. Mr. Kamida I vote you best teacher for Spring 2011 ! If possible, use Wiley plus more to gain better understanding of each chapter, allow student to redo each exercise until done correctly. This was probably one of the most enjoyable and educational ACC class I've taken. good class Great class learned alot! All in all, Roy is a good teacher. I would take more classes from him. Great class for everyone to take not only for college credits but for LIFE in general because as long as we work, own a house, or pretty much do anything in life we need to be able to learn how to keep track of everything and be able to file it in our taxes every single year. This is my second semester with Roy Kamida and he is very helpful. I will be taking a third semester with him in the Fall and am glad he'll be my instructor again. I had a good learning experience in this course Should have more in class courses available. 1. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?

Learning aspects of tax laws that are directly attributable to your personal life and on the job. Practical aspects like learning how to fill out a Schedule C for business or Schedule E for rental income is very valuable. Also, the amount of the work load for this course is nicely spaced out. Every aspects of this course were valuable. I learned things about taxation and business that I never knew. The most valuable aspect of the class was videos. Watching video lectures in Laulima always helped me to understand the chapters much easier. Mr. Kamida's willingness to address all questions asked and in detail. The quizzes & textbook website. The homework: quizzes and the end of chapter questions. Having the solutions posted in the chapter folders is really helpful to understanding how to work through the problems. The powerpoint videos are really helpful too. the powerpoint lecture is the most valuable. It makes me uncerstand the chapter better. I like the video that solve the problems after each chapter. Mr Kamida explain why it is wrong or right for each answer on the multiple choices. I like the format. Read the text, watch the video's by Mr. Kamida,and then do the quizes and homework, etc... Very well organized. Learning about taxes and how to file tax returns for different types of tax payers The aspects of the course that were most valuable to me were weekly assignments that help understand each chapter more. The handout folder and the video letures were the most valuable to me. It really helped me understand more. Applying the course materials. The most valuable aspects of this course were all the tax information that applies to me personnally. I am able to complete my own tax forms with confidence. Being an online class, it can be hard to understand the material by just reading the book. Mr. Kamida's narrated slideshows really help to explain things. He is a very dedicated and knowledgable professor in the subject of accounting and is also interested in helping students learn not just do his lecture part. Knowledgeable in the subject matters of business taxation. He follows up on issues that are not clear.Encourages everyone to ask and participate in topics relevant to class and outside of class. I enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer in the tax program! Mr. Kamida is always available for students' needs. His propmt e-mail responses are a very helpful resourse. Also, Mr. Kamida provided us sufficient time to study and turn in the weekly assingments and projects.` His willingness to help. Not all instructors are there for their students with questions. Mr. Kamida goes above and beyond every time! Mr. Kamida is very knowledgable & helpful. He's always quick to repond and is thorough in his explanations. He also posts other information that is not pertaining to class but helps with decisions to make out of school. Mr Kamida is very prompt about answering any questions you might have. retuning your question (email) quickly When you ask Mr. Kamida a question, he will get back to you right away. Some instructors take a long time, and some don't even answer your questions at all. Also, you know that Mr. Kamida knows the subject matter, which gives you a sense of confidence in knowing that he knows what he is doing. He is really knowledgable, and responds to questions quickly Mr. Kamida keeps his students informed about materials and information throughout the semester. Mr. Kamida is a great professor, he even shares his answers to some classmatess' questions to us. His responses are quick. I felt Prof Kamida was always avaiable. Because this was a online course, I knew he would answer my question by the next time I was online, no matter what time of day that might be. The video lectures and the fact that he is always very quick with responses to questions that students send to him. he helps always The accessibility to the instructor. Roy is very responsive when it comes to questions which is key especially for online classes. He is the most helpful instructor I have had. If you have a question even if you are not under his class he goes to extra mile to help students. Even if it is outside the scope of the class topic he tries to answer all questions the best he can. always available online. He is willing to help and is thrilled about doing so. His video lectures make learning the concepts easier. I also liked that he's adding real-life examples during these lectures. He's very organized. Most valuable and helpful are the book, and videos online. He answers question very clear and fast.
