21. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.

i can think of no suggestions for improvement Repetition is good, but too much repetition leads to boredom and wastes time. Sometimes there is not enough time to cover all the material! And other times it can get a tad boring. Maybe more activities? Maybe fewer small group discussions. No suggestions. The professors teaching style was excellent. Speak louder and a little bit slower none. None I like when he would show us visuals on things to demonstrate what they mean, so maybe more visuals. Nothing! It was a pleasure to have Caulfield as an instructor! none this course was interesting and fun I don't think that there are very many things I would change. Speak slower I like that he use a powerpoint presentation with facts that we need to know, and elaborate on each subject, because it gives the students time to write everything down, and helps us understand it more deeply. Sometimes I find understanding what he actually says difficult because he sometimes talks to fast... like really fast. But other then that I really enjoyed the class! I loved your teaching style, I've never seen a professor or teacher so excited to teach before. It really helped me get into the lecture and also come to class. I think Rick should slow down when speaking It doesn't need improvement. None. Rick is doing a fantastic job as an instructor! -use the mic, hard to hear sometimes He needs to go over how he wants the folder to be. It doesn't make sense that he wants some signatures for the "In-Class Activity" when he collects signatures the same day from the small groups. I didn't think it mattered, but now I feel I will get marked off because I didn't get a signature, but did the small group activity and got signature for that. None! Professor Rick doesn't need any improvements! He is an outstanding professor and I love his teaching style! Shouldn't change a thing. I think maybe more in class hands-on activities would be interesting. I can't think of any suggestions I really enjoyed this class. Using a microphone for clearer instructions. Other than that, he was great! I think this class is as great as it is right now. n/a great professor! Having the PowerPoint slides be uploaded to Laulima would be great. Sometimes the material is discussed quickly, not leaving enough time for me to copy down the amount of notes I felt was needed. I usually come to class with a laptop to take notes on. However, I often found myself struggling to keep up with the notes because Rick seemed to speed through the slides in as little as ten seconds. I know those who took notes by hand had an even harder time keeping up with the notes, and because the lectures are not posted online, it is hard to take notes on some of the important points of the lecture. It would be helpful if Rick spent a little more time on each slide or posted the notes online in the future Overall the course was great, but sometimes I felt like we moved too fast through material. I got lost during a lecture because of the jumbled material. PowerPoint lectures should be uploaded to Laulima. Rick Caulfield is a wonderful teacher. Not only is he so enthusiastic and knowledgable about FAMR he is very funny. He takes things light but yet make sure to tell us that they are important as well. He is a teacher I would recommend to any student. If I would, I would take him again. That is how wonderful of a teacher he is. Putting the power points online in case we miss the class for whatever reason. An improvement that could be made is to speak more clearly, sometimes Professor Caulfield mumbles and it is hard to understand. Also when doing talking about the study guide set a day and a half to do it because often Professor Caulfield talks to fast and i don't get a chance to write down everything he says. Nothing! I loved Rick! He was so cute! N/A I think Caulfield did a great job and showed how well he knows the subject. I don't think he needs any improvement at all. None, He was great and enthusiastic and make me want to learn more! I feel that the only suggest for this course would be to maybe get a guest speaker about not only death but about other major topics in Human Development. I enjoyed Chaplain Liu's talk with us and I think it'd be even cooler to have guest speakers on other interesting topics as well. Some of the students got too loud or didn't pay attention at all, I would like the TA to be more attentive to that. The videos and lecture slides worked well. And the study sessions helped a lot with upcoming tests. Rick did so well in teaching the students that it seems he's perfected his teaching style to the point where there aren't many ways he can improve! None I feel that his teaching methods are very good, and he should remain doing the same things he's been doing in class. Sometimes students in the back had a difficulty hearing what was being said, so maybe a mic could be helpful. n/a No suggestions, he's doing just fine. Rick might want to avoid looking at the ground too much when teaching. It felt like the students were sitting on the ground. Great teacher. Very knowledgeable on subject. Maybe could teach in easy to understand order format same as the book. keep going the way he is, his teachers are funny and good I think the powerpoint of the course should be provided or main points of the course. Since sometimes Powerpoint goes too fast in the lecture, and i don't have time to copy it down. And sometimes it's hard for me to write while i am listening to Rick. And sometimes he speaks too fast and i have no time to write things down. Exam seemed slightly too difficult, considering no one was able to score a perfect score Too many in class notes perhaps posting Lecture notes online to help with studying! Maybe he could start using a microphone because I sit in the front and there are times when it was difficult to understand and hear what he was saying. Very knowledgeable and great attitude in class just maybe talk and go through slides a bit slower. N/A In a large lecture, it is really difficult to concentrate if students are talking. In the future, I think Rick should be clear that if any student does not want to be in class, then they are free to leave. Being disruptive should not be tolerated as there are hundreds of other students in class and willing to learn. I have none, I loved his teaching style and unique personality exactly the way it was, I would not want him to change at all N/A Powerslides posted online...other than that..it was a great class I thought everything was perfectly fine the way he taught his class. My only complaint would be that sometimes, Professor Caulfield speaks quickly at times and can become difficult to understand but those times hardly affect my overall understanding of the course information for that lecture. I do feel that sometimes his style of teaching belittles his students in that he teaches the class much like we're still in high school. I concede, most of the students are fresh out of high school but a college education is a college education regardless of how you got into the UH-Manoa campus, wether it be COP or as an Honors student. Students should be addressed at the same level should they decide to take the same course. THE BEST CLASS THAT I'VE TAKEN SO FAR! LOVED IT! For the portfolio, it would be best if it could be broken down into segments. Then having each segment due at different times throughout the semester. This will help the student keep track of their progress in the class and give more opportunities to stay on task. Do not ramble, I've had a couple times where I totally forgot where he was going with the lecture. I didn't think that many of the small-group discussions/ in-class-activities were very thought-provoking, they seemed more superficial and opinion-based, not really requiring the 'unpacking' of the material. I thought that the emphasis seemed more on grading based on attendance than on a deeper understanding, although the essay test on the final will better test understanding. use the microphone, it was hard to hear what you were saying sometimes. 1. Use the microphone. Sometimes it's a little hard to hear his voice over all the people in the lecture room. He is very outgoing. he makes the class fun at times he can be a little more understanding on some points or better explain somethings. not to bad his explanations. Professor Caulfield WAS SO AWESOME! knowledgeable, funny, enthusiastic, and a helpful teacher, FAMR 230 was one of my favorite classes at UH. Professor Caulfield made the lectures clear and fun and I learned so much out of the course. I thought that the videos where helpful in understanding the material, so I think he should continue to incorporate those into his lectures. Keep up to good work! I wouldn't change anything. good difficulty and the teacher is very helpful. n/a Professor should get a microphone. The only thing I would change about this course was to possibly get Rick a wireless microphone so that while sitting in the back, the students could hear him a little better. His teaching style was fantastic! I learned so much in this course! none Already great. Continue to be yourself because I think he is a GREAT teacher I love him ! He is a great professor ! make more specific study guides! :D I thought his class was very fun and educational! I don't have any suggestions for improving the course because it was well organized and fun to learn. N/a none, he did a great job Dr. Caulfield has a very traditional way of teaching. Slides of pictures and information were present, then were followed by his own comments about the subject. Very interesting course and a great teacher to teach it! He was awesome! No improvements needed!

22. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....

I really enjoyed the class. It was an interesting subject, and the teacher made it just as interesting and enjoyable to learn. Very knowledgable, passionate, and enthusiastic about Family Resources and teaching. EXCELLENT! He was a great teacher. He is passionate, always available for help, and tries to make lessons interesting by using media. He is really competent in Family Resources! Rick is such a great professor! He's very knowledgable and passionate about his work and it showed in his teaching. He is also really good at reminding the students about whats coming up and is also always very welcoming to talk to students whenever they need help even the day right before the test (something most teachers hate). Really good teacher! Excellent. Professor Caulfield is obviously knowledgeable, as well as enthusiastic regarding the course material. Very open to discussion. Professor Caulfield is outstanding. Awesome He is a fantastic professor who really wants to see his students succeed in his class :) I think he is a great teacher! Very good I think he knows a lot about the subject and he seems to truly love it. In class he is very enthusiastic and thats what makes the class more fun. He's a good teacher and he knows what he's doing. He makes the class interesting. super involved in the class! He was everything i would hope for in an instructor. He was alway enthusiastic in lecture and easy to pay attention to during the whole presentation. Exams were made fairly and always possible to get good grades with enough effort. He does a very good job at teaching Human Development. He's always well prepared and very enthusiastic about the material. Also, he relates a lot of what he teaches to our lives or his own so that its easier to understand. A really good teacher. He was interesting and made things easy to understand. a professor who seems to be very passionate about his job, resulting in a fun interesting classroom environment. that Rick Caulfield is an excellent teacher! He is very knowledgeable about his subject area and does a good job at teaching it to us. He is an extremely ethusiastic and passionate teacher and you can tell that he loves what he does. Professor Caulfied is a great teacher! An amazing teacher! Hands down, Professor Rick Caulfield is THE coolest teacher I have had this semester. He is an amazing teacher! Very professional and knows his material. He is an awesome teacher who has much enthusiasm for his field of study. He is very knowledgeable and it shows through his teaching. He is my favorite teacher. Rick Caulfield is funny and know his material well. I was excited to go to his class everyday! I would recommend other students to take his class. Great! He is a wonderful teacher and is great at what he does. Prof. Caulfield was an amazing teacher. He had a sense of humor and made the class interesting. I enjoyed his class a lot, and learned a lot. Through his class, I was able to understand the human way of life in a whole different perspective than before. A professor that is passionate and knowledgeable about his work. 10/10 Professor Caulfield is very enthusiastic with what he teaches and encourages his students to be equally interested. He is very friendly and approachable and is easy to communicate with. Rick has a lot of experience in the subject that he is teaching. He is also very enthusiastic, which helps make the class entertaining. However, sometimes his explanations of certain concepts are rather confusing because he attempts to oversimplify everything. He's a really great teacher. He has the passion to teach and he's passionate about the material he teaches. He is one the best teachers I have at UH Manoa. He is a very friendly and helpful professor. All of his lectures are interesting and he makes the class very enjoying. Rick was very enthusiastic and genuinely interested in what he was teaching and more importantly the pople he was teaching the material to. I very much enjoyed his class and felt like I really learned a tremendous amount. He made the classes interesting by engaging his students in discussions and by presenting material that would link concepts and ideas from the lectures and the book to real life. -thanks Rick! He is a teacher that knows his subject. He was a really great teacher, he explained everything well and he had a lot of fun teaching us. EXCELLENT! I love his humor! Good, he is an excellent teacher. He is very enthusiastic and funny which keeps me awake. I also like how he ties videos into his lectures, it helps get a better understanding of the subject. From a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best; I'd have to say Caulfield is a perfect 9. He's a great professor, very understanding and used methods that kept the class interested. He did speak pretty fast, but that showed just how excited he was about all topics. Plus, it teaches us to focus. he was a great professor and i am thankful to have been one of his students! that Rick Caulfield has been one of my top professor this semester. I would enjoy taking any of his classes again! He is a very passionate teacher and always thinks about the students first. Him saying hello to anyone before class gave me a positive view of the class. He was up to date with videos, songs, and articles. I really liked his examples and stories about his kids when they were younger. He is approachable and helped me gain an understanding about this subject. Very good teacher that understands the way students learn best. A very good teacher who is passionate about what he does. He's funny and I enjoyed his class. He was a great "teacher". He taught us well in the class in order for non-FAMR majors--like myself--were able to understand the material given without having prior knowledge of the field or course. I had gained so much about the course, but life as well because it pertained to life and ways we could apply the material learned in real life situations and concepts. I learned so much from the course that i want to keep the book just to read and refer back to as life goes on, and hopefully keep in touch with Rick and MJ over time in my years at and out of the University. He is an enthusiastic wonderful teacher that made going to class easy. excellent. He is a very good professor and is very enthusiastic about the course and interacting with students. enthusiastic teacher and cares about his students. He is one of the best teachers ever! I really liked the in class activities he included in the class. These small activities make sure you understand the material well. I enjoy that he offers so many study session opportunities. Rick is an amazing professor who is truly passionate about what he teaches. He helps his students to well understand what he is teaching about by incorporating great examples especially video clips and movies. They help to deepen knowledge on new material we are learning. my favorite professor at UH Manoa! He was a great professor, very knowledgable in the course material, enthusiastic about teaching, and he reached out to all of this students. He was very personable and kind with a great sense of humor which kept all students engaged every class. I never missed a day of class because I loved his class so much, I didn't want to miss out! My overall evaluation of Rick Caulfield is that he is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic professor that brings a certain energy into the classroom that helps to bring the students into the lecture. Prof. Caulfield made FAMR 230 a very enjoyable class and also included many videos and examples that I was able to relate to and connect with. Dr. Rick is an amazing teacher that shows great enthusiasm regarding his field of expertise and teaching this class. It is his enthusiasm that keep the lectures from monotony. I do feel that sometimes his style of teaching belittles his students in that he teaches the class much like we're still in high school. I concede, most THE BEST TEACHER THAT I'VE EVER HAD. FUNNY, ENTERTAINING AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! GREAT! really good teacher,makes things interesting He is a wonderful teacher. But personally, it would be better for me if he took the class more serious. I had a bit of a hard time understanding what he said with his slur/slang. But overall, he is a pretty good instuctor. He is an excellent teacher and is knowledgeable in his particular field of study, but not the subject for me. most fun class i had. he was always willing to help students when they needed it. his lectures were fun and always interesting, he uses various types of youtube clips and videos to get his point across. he also makes the content understandable and explain it very thoroughly in a way students can understand. he is also very organized. His style reminds me of high school, but he's a great guy and a good professor, if a little lax. A- He's a very good professor. Funny and kind. He cares about the subject matter and his students. he is a good teacher he is a great teacher and funny one as well. he takes his job seriously and shows alot of passion and love in his subject field. Professor Caulfield was one of the best teachers I've ever had! :) I really like how he relates the material he teaches to his actual life. It makes it seem as if all the material taught is not a waste because there is a real life application. HE IS A VERY FUNNY TEACHER! Rick Caufield is one of the best professors i had in college so far, he is fun, outgoing, and informational. Great professor, or "teacher" as he calls himself. One of my favorite teachers. plain and simple. GREAT! He is a great professor. I enjoyed this class very much, and even my roommate, who had Rick during a previous semester, was excited for me to take his class. He was very enthusiastic throughout the entire semester and I think that I learned many valuable things. A dedicated and great educator; very passionate in his teaching. Rick is a very good, and enthusiastic teacher. I thought this class was going to be boring, but his passion and enthusiasm for this class sparked my attention and interest in this class. I really enjoyed this class. But, I have had a lot of problems with communicating with him through e-mail, about missing work and an EXAM i missed. I have tried several times trying to get a hold of him, but I've still not been able to contact him. Besides that, Rick is a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and nice teacher. very knowledgable Great professor. You can really tell he loves what he does and the students in his class. He also knows how communicate and relate to others and is very clear in regards to what he wants from his students. I really liked how even though it is a large lecture course, he still seemed very available to the entire class and had a very warm and caring demeanor. Most other lecture courses, the professors don't bother to really get to know the class or interact with the class other than reading straight off the powerpoints. I felt like in this class with the participation points and in class assignments, it helped a lot in making it "seem" more like a smaller sized class. I had no idea what family resources was prior to taking this class, but now I find it extremely interesting. This was my favorite class this semester. He's a nice funny person Rick Caulfield is a great professor. Love his personality, its soo cute :) good, enthusiastic, funny teacher. makes material interesting and easy to remember I thinkl he is the best professor EVER! :) Excellent teacher :) excellent, an honor to be in his class He's a very good teacher. 27. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?

the overall content of the class was really interesting. The videos that supplemented lectures and Rick's jokes/sense of humor. I liked that the tests were fairly easy and multiple choice (but not so easy because nobody ever got 100% in my class). The teacher was excellent, and material was pretty interesting. I liked the speaker that we had, and i wish we had one for every period of life that we study. Everything. Everything was relevant, and helped towards understanding the course material. Everything Lectures The videos and the speaker! It was easy to comprehend. He teached it in a fun way. I enjoyed the visuals the best and the way Mr. Caulfied connects with his class. I like that he has videos to go along with the lecture I love Caulfield's lectures. They are always fun while very educational. I liked that some classes were fun. It kept things interesting and I never got bored of going to class. The videos helped to understand the material and were proper for the subject. the professor explained and clearly pointed out what subjects were importan. his class was fun and interesting, by not only talking for an hour straight, but also incorporating videos and small group activities. The aspects that I liked the most was, how Rick would use different videos or photographs to make the section interesting. It would also help to create a picture or idea about that topic. I liked his way of presenting the information. His enthusiasm carried over to the students and he was extremely clear. baby stages The way information was presented, and that I always knew what was due, and what was expected. funny videos and TA power points The outside assignments allowed you to use the tools your learned in class to observe and analyze certain situations. It gives you a more personal perspective of what is being taught in the lecture. I enjoyed the class as a whole, there wasn't anything specific that stuck out to me. I liked the video examples The power points, videos, and class activities. I liked learning about the later part of life in middle and late adulthood since I haven't experienced that yet I found it very interesting. I just enjoyed going to class. Rick is always excited for class and makes each and every section interesting. Everything, the topics was really interesting I liked going to class and watching videos incorporated in the lectures Study guide reviews; when Caulfield walks up the stairs and engages in conversation with students, asking them their opinion; when he shares his stories about his family. I loved doing the portfolio that was due toward the end of the semester. It really helped me understand the context of the course even further due to self-guided research and work. Entertainment and learning at the same time. I enjoyed being able to do the In Class activities and the assignments on our own time. He was limiting our time to get the work done. I like how he showed us videos related to the topics he was covering in class. It was interesting to me and Rick Caulfield made it even more interesting. I liked the videos shown in class because they were funny, educational, and helpful for us to remember important aspects of each topic we were learning about. everything! Presentations/videos. The feeling of "welcome" in the classroom and being able to look forward to learning something new each class session. The in-class activities were fun to do because it made me think more about the topics that were covered in that day's class and apply them to my own life. I liked the material. The course was very interesting and it got me thinking about the way I should live my life. I like how his lectures are not only powerpoints but he also shares personal experiences and shows videos pertaining what concept we are currently learning. The stories he told and the video clips, comic strips etc. That he used to link the material from his lectures and from the book to something that was familiar to us or just entertaining, fun and different, so that we could better understand. I liked that he made us have group activities. It made it a way to know a few people in class instead of coming and going without talking to anyone. Interesting Lectures Learning about all the different stages in life and what comes with it. I liked how the powerpoints were very percise and to the point and Rick told us what we needed to know and what we didn't really need to know. I liked the videos. The videos helped me remember certain subjects and terms. He was very funny. All of the subject matter. I enjoyed learning it. Reminded us of key terms and put emphasis on the important things to know on the exam which helps. I loved how Caulfield used videos to connect to the topics. It gave us a better understanding all and all. The whole thing was interesting! I enjoyed Professor Caulfield's enthusiasm when teaching this course. It was obvious he is passionate about the topics he discussed but he is also passionate about being a teacher. His enthusiasm and way of keeping students intrigued with the lecture made the course in itself enjoyable and fun to learn about. I liked the TA's lectures and also the videos, songs, or pictures Rick would show us. Those examples helped me to learn the concepts quicker. Class activities, video clips to remember. the middle aged person interview, it was very interesting the guest speaker I liked almost all aspects of the course from the topics taught to the way things were taught. The small group activities were great interactions that kept the class engaged and helped to reinforce what we had just learned in the class. The study sessions with MJ and the review sessions in class with Rick were great because they helped to reward those who go and attend the classes as well as these sessions. I liked that the videos, graphs, pictures in the slides, etc. all pertained to the topics being taught and helped us to remember everything being taught. Lectures and Exams. Everything. Study guide and small group discussions are really helpful. I liked that the class was entertaining and I learned a lot that can be incorporated into the real world. I liked Professor Caulfield's teaching style the best. It was all interesting to learn about. I liked it when Rick present the works of his daughter and his son as examples in class. He is a very proud father :) I like learing from the examples such as videos or pictures because it is easier to understand the material. the book we have to create at the end of the course everything I always knew exactly what to study for the exams, I was never confused on what was or wasn't on them. If you were unsure you could ask him and he was always willing to help. He always made himself available before or after class or during office hours if you had any questions on the course. The topics we covered. It is essential information to know. I like how he incorporated video clips, articles, movies, and media into the lecture to make it more interesting. Rick Caulfield I really like the adult period because I got a heads up on what might occur during that time. I'm in the middle of being a teenager and an adult so I thought it was really helpful! I liked when we learned about infancy. reflection assignments I liked that Rick incorporated videos into his lectures after we learn about a specific theory or vocabulary word. I enjoyed class lectures because Professor Caulfield had a great teaching style and his teaching aids were great (videos, short stories, etc) EVERY PART OF IT I like the short clips that seem to relate to the topics. It made the lessons more interesting. I didn't particularly have any favorites, I liked all of them. I like how this course was about life and how we develop. Understanding the different stages in life is something everyone should take time to learn. Everything THe vibe of the classroom is calm and fun. Learned very interesting things. I like everything about this class! Lectures and video examples that tie into the lectures. Dr. Rick is honestly the best aspect of this course. He is such a compelling and passionate instructor so much that his personality and passion shines from day one through to the very end. I liked the videos we watched the best! I like the way he incorporated videos and stories into the course work. It helped me relate to the assignments and situations needed to understand the work. The many movie clips, were very interesting to watch. the lectures were fun and very informative. he had a great sense of humor and used videos like family guy, robot chicken, etc that students knew and used them in his lectures to get his point across and make the class more interesting and humorous. Rick's positive attitude, friendly style, and the multimedia content (video clips etc) which broke up the lecture. I liked learning about children/infants. the videos made the material better and more fun to learn. When we discussed the life span of a person. his way of teaching and his extra help and assignments that he gave to us to achieve a higher grade. I thought that the course material was very interesting, especially about human beings behavior throughout the entire life span. Babies His lectures The fact that all the material is relevant to my life and the lives of people around me. EVERYTHING I liked how interesting the information was. I liked that Rick used video examples to help us better understand the topics at hand. Our in-class activities also helped to solidify the information we were given. Group work and discussion the videos that we watch in lectures, that actually help the students, well at least me, understand what rick is trying to get through to us. the videos I enjoyed the whole course. I learned a lot and enjoyed Professor Caulfield's lectures as well as MJ's lectures. Random video clips that were played. I also liked that there are extra assignments and extra credit OTHER than just the exams to help boost scores. That he always gave you a fair chance to learn and always was free for extra help I love his powerpoints ! I liked the powerpoints with all the notes on them that we went through in class. That helped me alot on the tests. She had great power point presentations :) everything I liked the study sessions with MJ because they really, actually helped me for the exam. I also liked how funny Mr Caulfield it made the class enjoyable and easy to learn.

28. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the TA's teaching style and methods?

she would deliver and teach in a way that was understandable to students. She really tired to put in humor. Her powerpoints were nice, and had funny pictures to keep us interested. She seemed enthusastic which was awesome. I liked MJ's powerpoints and her presentations about them were really good as well. She was always energetic and knew her information really well. The TA showed great enthusiasm, and used excellent examples in her lectures to keep the subject matter relevant. Nice illustrations Very upbeat and smiles a lot None. She used a bunch of pictorial examples. It was nice to have a new teacher once and a while to mix things up. She had clear powerpoints that were straight to the point. The review sessions before the exam were helpful and she explains things in an upbeat way. Also enthusiastic and knowledgeable I like that she would use a lot of visuals when she did her presentations. The PowerPoint presentation was good. her study sessions really helped when it came down to examination time MJ's lectures were always helpful in teaching us the different areas she was assigned. Also, the review sessions held by her were excellent in helping us students. She was also straightforward and was very helpful when a student needed individual help. watching videos The TA really helped if I had personal questions regarding tests and assignments, but I felt her actual presentations in class were a little hard to follow, hard to keep up, and I got confused sometimes when she taught. didn't have a lot on her power points, straight forward and precise. used pictures that would grab attention Although her energy wasn't the same as Rick's energy, she slowed the material down, and was able to put our focus into one particular subject instead of the big picture. The TA was valuable in helping us prepare for the exams. She helped me understand important concepts better The power points she used and the images to allow the student to fully visualize what the topic is about. Pay attention to the powerpoints. Her optional study sessions were always helpful. She was loud and enthusiastic, she walked around the class. Her slides were really nice and interesting to look at. She provided funny pictures along with her lectures that helped me understand better. She does a really good review before the exam. I found that Professor Rick was able to teach with an exciting manner. EVERY SINGLE CLASS. It was amazing how much energy he had in him and it truly did make the course a lot more fun and approachable. She was also very knowledgeable in the subject of study and her enthusiasm got the rest of the class interested in it too. She helped us study the material for the test and had review sessions in class. She is very enthusiastic and helpful with the material. I found her powerpoints and review sessions in class really helpful. It helped us prepare better for the exams. The TA was very friendly and funny so the presentations were engaging. enthusiastic and humorous The TA goes more in depth with certain topics and presents information in an attractive, exciting way. Her powerpoints were very simple and she explained concepts thoroughly She's fun and not boring. I also like how she brings a different feel to the class in regards to the different information and the different point of view she has on certain topics. I like how she is enthusiastic about the subject and how her powerpoints has a lot of pictures rather than just text. She was very clear in her expanations, approachable and enthusiastic as well She was young but still knowledgable. You can tell she was trying hard still and one day will make a great teacher. She is a really good teacher and she's fun to listen to during lecture. she helped us when a test was coming up, with study sessions and guides. Her insights on what we need to know were helpful. Her study sessions are very helpful before exams I didn't really care for the TA's teaching methods. Most of her material wasn't needed. Most of her slides were just pictures and if there was text written on the slide she would change it before anyone got a chance to write it down. Her power points were very well done and organized and she used subject matter that was very interesting. Also, she was very nice and approachable. I enjoyed learning from her. She used good visuals of the dual terms that helped me to remember key concepts. MJ was our TA for Caulfield's class. She's an amazing person. She tried to be funny so that the class doesn't get bored. She's open-minded and loves to encourage participation in class. She made it a little more fun and interesting with different fun facts! I felt that MJ's teaching techniques were very straight forward and also had a lot of passion and enthusiasm. I felt MJ's lectures were interesting as well. Not only was she throwing out facts but within her lectures she threw out stories or examples to help students better comprehend the lecture. Her study review sessions were really helpful. She answered most of our questions and also led us into looking for the answers ourselves and making us think instead of her giving us the answer. Related to the students and the way they would understand. She used good pictures in her slides. She sounded very interested in what she was talking about The way that she was to the point and direct about what was going to be studied as opposed to generalizing what "could" be on the test. She didn't go in circles or beat around the bush about what to study for, instead she would go over terms she knew would help us and gave pictures related to those terms that would help us in remembering them. She also gave us extra examples in order to help us relate terms to (real life) examples we would understand and remember. She tried her best to find things that would help us memorize important concepts. She answers the students questions and goes into detail about the topics she teaches in class. Tries to relate content to the students. She gave tips that really helped on the exams. The TA was very friendly and approachable. She also answered her email promptly when I needed help. Giving real-life examples and things we can relate to when presenting a topic. What I found most valuable about the TA's teaching style is that you have to write quickly. Unlike Rick, the TA seems to struggle in speaking her thoughts about the course. She does not give lots of examples or more detailed explanation about a certain topic, which then made the students write notes a faster than how we used to when Rick was the one teaching. Easy to understand. She pointed out the important information. he lectures She gave good explanations with the information she presented to us and made sure everyone had a general understanding before moving on She was very helpful when it came to study sessions. She knew the material very well and knew how to make the class more interactive and enjoyable. Enthusiasm, relatable stories to course material. Her knowledge of material The fact that she lectured about very interesting topics made it helpful and valuable because everyone goes through the topics that she went over. I feel that if a person can connect to what is being taught it makes it more interesting. She helps us study for exams. Loved the visuals. Also TA's topics were a bit more interesting than other material as the topics pertained (somewhat) directly to our age group. Informative. She was very personable and friendly STRAIGHT FORWARD How she was so helpful during the study sessions. helping us study for what was on the quiz... The powerpoints were helpful because it gave a visual. The examples of real life situations made the lesson relatable. the study sessions before the midterm and final very nice and explained material well. When she did reviews before the exam. She was also very knowledgeable and easy to understand. Her powerpoints were well put together and she has a friendly personality. I like that the TA always expressed her availability for consultation. She was also very enthusiastic and charismatic when she spoke and taught her lessons. I liked how she did a lot of compare and contrast kinds of slides for us to follow. She was very organized when it came to the optional study sessions. She is very clear and proves her point quickly, not as scatter brained as the lecturer. Her power-points had good content and she lectured on them in a clear, entertaining way. She always mentioned that she could be reached by email if she had any questions. well, she tried to make it fun like caulfields. she really put alot of effort and time in help the students and answering any questions needed. she also is good in informing the students of upcoming events or class activities, through email. She was very helpful in explaining certain confusing comparative concepts for the exams, and in my opinion her lectures were very understandable. Her Study Sessions Her study sessions help with the exams She was entertaining and that helped me understand the concepts. EVERYTHING I like how her PowerPoints were very vivid. Her power points were very exciting and she was also very enthusiastic when going over the material. Presented informational powerpoints. She was very knowledgeable in her teaching and the way she presented. funny at times She was very clear and communicated well. TA was very nice. Answered emails, had funny lectures when she presented. She knew what she was doing The study session before the exam is great ! TA was good, funny, clear helped relate material to other things to help us remember MJ would always go over the dual terms for the class and explained them very well. She wasn't monotone funny and interesting, very good The TA has a different style of teaching compared to Dr. Caulfield's. MJ uses up to date slides coupled with different colors and animations. Contrasting Dr. Caulfield's traditional blue slides, MJ provides slides with different colors which helps a lot. MJ is also very committed into her teaching and her way of teaching adds insight to her personality. The study guides were very helpful and clear.

This class was great! I would definitely recommend this class to others who want to take Family Resources. This class has made me want to take more classes revolving around Family Resources. All students should take this class. Thanks to both of you for a very interesting class. I enjoyed it and learned a lot! I LOVE FAMR! I would recommend this class to everyone I know. I may even continue studies in Family Resources. This class was great and i would love to take the class over again just for the fun of it! If i didn't already have a major, and financial aid didn't invoke reduction of aid for classes not related to my major, i would take more classes taught by Rick and more FAMR classes =) n/a none. The TA's needs more practice in teaching :) but overall, I liked the class even if the class room is so far from the residential towers. Great course, very interesting!
