Very good, always well prepared and have a rich knowledge in this area
Excellent and very knowledgeable of the field.

Very knowledgeable in the field, and in general able to explain these complex topics in a easy-to-digest way. The primarily lecture-based format didn't work for me, but it may for some. Some lectures were quite dry and non-interactive, lacking context.

very good
I found the course to be interesting and beneficial in gaining knowledge, not only for bioinformatics, but also for other areas of computer science (e.g. algorithms).
Ok.
Fair. The assignments were vaguely worded, and presented as if they were 'logic puzzles' e.g. Sudoku. I normally like that sort of thing, but the combination of not having any reading material to explain the topic discussed in the assignment, and the vague description of the assignment itself made me really dislike them, though the topic itself was interesting. (The first assignment by Guylaine is an exception, as it's instructions were explicit). Overall, the relative importance of assignments seemed arbitrary, and rarely was I able to talk to fellow students in depth about the topics that were covered, as they seemed as clueless as I was. Despite this, however, the course served as a pretty good introduction to what is out there in the field of Bioinformatics. Use of the databases containing genetic information, and the passing knowledge of the various alignment algorithms is useful if one plans on participating in the field in the future. I feel we spent way too much time on alignment, however (literally most of the class lectures were on this).

get more Guylaines, very nice professor excelllent instructor.
She was great. Logical lectures. Although sometimes it was a little unclear as to what exactly to do for some of the labs, she was willing help and walk us through the information and point us in the right direction.
she knows the content very well and tried to make everything easily understandable to those without a biology background.

Recommended. Need a little more practice with the English Language.

She was good. She was helpful in class and helped me with all of the problems that I was having.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this instructor a 10, because there she did the best she can to make the lecture as clear as possible. She will always use examples to make us understand what the lecture notes are talking about.

The class help remind me of the basics of computer programming. It allows my interest in computer science to resurrect again.
It was good. It strengthened and created a basic understanding of programing and coding. This class helped me with my java class.
I would say that this course met my expectations of what it will be teaching. This class met my expectations of teaching me the basics of computer programming so I can understand the information in the other ICS courses.
