31. How did the instructor show concern for students?
He will always is concerned with your work and will always motivate you to try your best so you can suceed.
Professor Paudyal always gives us time to ask questions in class and he always answers they fairly. He gives us amply opportunities to strive for our best and produce top-notch essays.
Bed Paudyal teaches with clarification and makes time for further explanation.
He is always making sure we understand what hes explaining. He repeats himself is we dont understand what he's saying and is always available after class if we have other questions.
He would come up to us to check on how the progress on our work was going and would offer insight if needed.
He is always willing to meetup with students on their available time and likes to remind us about important dates
He helped students when they asked for it. He always pushed students to participate.
Mr. Paudyal shows much concern for all his students and encourages each of us to offer our opinions in class discussions even when we are unsure whether we are right or not, which is so important because it allows us to feel comfortable in the class. He also takes the time to have individual conferences with each of us to see where we are with our course work and offers help in the areas that we need. Aside from in class and conferences he also makes time for many students after class and allows them to meet with him to go over any questions they have about improving their work.
He worries and keeps track of his students progression especially students that are behind.
Mr. Paudyal is a great professor who always encourages his students. He keeps a great line of communication open and always answers any questions you may have in a timely matter.
For Everything he taught us.
Emails, help giving, and constant explanations
He asks for opinions and offers to help us outside of class
He continued to ask if we needed help. And if there was times where we wasn't doing well in class hed ask to set up a meeting to discuss how we can do better in class.
He offers to the students to talk to him after class or email him if there are any questions. Also offers the students to redo their essays for a better grade.
He showed concern by encouraging students to do their best, and by setting up personal conferences for an essay assignment.
He went out of his way to work one on one with students.
He shows concern by always making sure a student turns in work
He pressed on about assignments. He also tried to identify why a student comes late and tried to work it out
Telling us that if we need help with anything, we could email him anytime
he would ask question to see if we understand
asked if we got the content in class
He knows that some students tend to have really busy schedules, and not all students can come on time for class. He established a rule of how to deal with this problem by asking other students' opinions and everyone came to an agreement. Also for some students who cannot bring a hard copy of their paper to class, can send the essay to his email, and they can bring a hard copy the next class. He likes to know what his students think first before coming up with a rule. Everyone gets to an agreement and at the same time he also gives that bit of strictness in it.
32. What did you especially like/dislike about the way the instructor taught this course?
I aprreciate the way he explains things. He teaches with a different approach. He is always using specific examples of his life to explain things and make them easier. I really appreciate that. I also loved the work that he gives. It's just enough to keep you on your toes but not to overwhelming. This was and overall great course.
He is a great teacher. I particularly do not find anything that I disliked about the way he has taught this course, but I did like quite a lot of things he did. He always brings stories into his teachings, he always entertains the class with jokes, and he was his own very unique way of teaching.
Bed Paudyal gives interesting examples to enhance visually and mentally.
I liked that he was comical at times but some lessons were a bit boring and it made me lose track and concentration on what was going on.
I liked his enthusiasm for his subject and admired his passion. Although I wish her would have had more activities for students to work on the board to discuss our work, and less lectures.
Very helpful and understanding. He is a funny person.
He did it in a casual way,and learning at the same time.
I really liked the fact that he made English more interesting by relating certain things to everyday life examples. In the past I never enjoyed English but having him as a teacher made me more open to learning and specifically for me I have a hard time with grammar but he was able to help me understand it better through various in class examples and handouts that allow us to practice the work. I also like that he let us work together as a class or in small groups to collaborate about our essays and share ideas because it reinforces the material that we learned and helps us to see things from a different perspective.
I liked the ideas, and examples he presents to give students a better understanding about a certain subject.
The way i like how Bed Paudyal taught this course is by bringing in examples from his life hood and giving jokes about certain subjects we talk about that got the class more comfortable.
Mr. Paudyal is very organized.
I don't know
His lectures is just to boring and hard to understand. He is a good man, but his accent kind of dominates his speech so its very difficult to keep up with what he says.
handwriting is kinda awful
I liked how he was always in a good mood. I disliked how he wasnt that informal. But everything was still good.
I like the fact that he reviews the content of the essay in class. I dont like that fact that we dont do group activities.
I liked the way he taught the class because he involved us, he expected us to participate, and he showed us examples of practically everything. One thing I disliked about the course is the fact we had to keep journals. I feel this was part of the class that was never really enforced, therefore I feel it should not be graded. The journal should be more for the student reference and not the class.
The class is structured well and follows the syllabus perfectly, making it easy to get ahead in the class.
He can be a bit of a bore. though i attribute that to just being english 100 which is known to be one of the most boring classes in any college
he reminded me of a T-rex which was very entertaining
Like- easy to understand Dislike- lectures were boring
I liked how we had to see him outside of class to better clarify things
explained a lot about the content we were supposed to learn in class
I specially liked how he makes the class cooperate and share their ideas and comments in class. Not a lot of students like to share what they think. I also liked how he gives a small speech about students needing to be prepared to class and be responsible--encouraging students to buy their books and be prepared when coming to class, so that other students who do come to class well prepared do not get affected by the others. I specially think that all teachers should do this.
33. What else would you like to say about this instructor/course?
That he is a great teacher an you can tell that he wants to teach students. Sometimes I meet teachers that just go through the motions, but believe me he is not one of those. I appreciate his enthusiasm for learning and teaching.
Nothing, everything went swimmingly in his English 100 course this semester.
The course is interesting and highly recommendable
I think he really loves English and that he knows his subject very well. I do believe he needs to have his own syllabus so he knows whats going on and what assignments are due. Overall, Mr. P is a great teacher. More confidence will go a long way in order for his students to really listen.
His knowledge on the subject was admirable, especially when you consider it being his seconded language.
I believe that Bed Paudyal needs to provide more examples and have better explanations abut the essays that are being assigned in class. He also needs to be more specific about the the topics that way it will be easier for the students to understand.
Very helpful and i learn something new everyday.
he is a good teacher and he tries his best to make sure each student does their work.
More class time on getting rough draft essays started. Greater ideas in the classroom makes it a lot easier to start off an essay.
It's his first time at HCC, so he's great
it is very helpful
It was very good.
I like that fact that he asks the students to participate in class.
I thought the class was great, although his writing is tough to read, but he is always willing to go over what he wrote with you.
I look forward to take more of his classes in the future.
He is a good teacher. though i feel the way he feels on absences should change. IF you turn in the work and always do well on any test or assingments then you should be allowed to miss some classes days for work
overall it did help improve my writing
Excellent coruse, he knows his material very well.
It was a little boring but very informational
It was Mr. Paudyal's first semester teaching here at HCC and I think he did a really great job.
34. Would you recommend this instructor to other students? Why or why not?
Yes I would recommend his course. He is a fantastic teacher always willing to help his students and always willing to sacrifice his own time for his student. He makes the work easily understandable and doesn't leave any student behind he does his best with every student an gives every one equal help. He always cares and you can see it in his energy while he's talking.
Yes! I definitely will and already has recommended him to other students getting ready to take a English 100 course. Why? Because Professor Paudyal is awesome. He knows his material, he enjoys teaching with a passion, and loves to interact with his students
Definitely, Bed really cares for his students and brings excitement in his work.
I would recommend Mr. P to student who know how to write and are able to understand people who have a foreign accent. If students dont take the initiative to ask what he means when they dont understand him, then they'll never understand what he's saying. Students who are very independent and take initiative with their own work will do very well in Mr. P's class.
Yes. I would recommend Mr Paudyal to other students because you really get work done during his course.
Yes, because he is very helpful,
yes, i would. You can learn a lot from him because he is very knowledgeable.
Yes, Bed Paudyal (slight accent aside) is an English professor who genuinely cares about teaching students. His enthusiasm comes across clearly, and makes what is usually a drab subject very interesting.
Yes i would definitely recommend Mr. Paudyal to other students because there is never a dull moment in class, he constantly engages us in conversations and he always has something new and refreshing to share. Personally i don't really like teachers that just give lectures and hand out work so i really like Mr Paudyal because i feel like he went beyond that and made everyone feel comfortable in the sense that he was able to have a casual conversation with the class which makes everyone more susceptible to what he has to share and personally i had a lot of fun in this class.
Yes. Bed Paudyal's showed me another variety of style in English literature, yet also challenging.
Yes i would recommend because he is a very good instructor who knows what he is doing and pushes students to complete and to also help them if they need it.
Highly Recommend! Mr. Paudyal is a superb professor. He is friendly, fair and makes learning intresting.

Depending on that students reference
Yes, because he is a great professor and he treats students fairly.
yes i would recommend him to other students because he would still give students chance with words of encouragements to back it up.
yes, because although it was boring at some points it was very helpful and informational
Yes, he is a great teacher. He lets students make some choices on when it they should turn in their journals as well as asking comments from students what is the best way to do certain things and when is the best. He keeps the students' best interest in mind.
35. Other comments:
Professor Paudyal was the best English teacher I ever had.
Thank you Mr. P for sharing your knowledge with us. Your class was especially interesting because I was shown a whole new point of view of a person who was born in a foreign country. I really enjoyed hearing about your home country and stories about that place and how your family feels being in Hawaii. I really do appreciate this new outlook and point of view.
Hope to have Mr Paudyal in future classes
Great guy, especially a great teacher
Mr, 2% of something is better than 2% of nothing.... hopefully everyone takes this seriously and fills this out.
शभ ामना! (I hope this is the correct translation [good luck!])
