13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
| He made math comprehendable and he understood that math doesnt come easily to most kids. |
| He is a very fun teacher and is a very interesting person. I felt very comfortable in his classroom. |
| he encourages students to keep on practicing on math problems esp. on assignements. he tries to help students patiently. he knows his stuff very well. |
| I like that he is audible or loud. It is easy to pay attention. |
| Knows his subject well. Very enthusiastic about his topic! |
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
| A study guide before every exam would have been great. We only got an actual study guide for a few of the exams. |
| None |
| I don't know. He's very logical so it is hard to say. |
| Sometimes slips into geek mode and gets too technical, lost me a few times. |
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
| It was clear he wanted everyone to do well in his class. He always offered help to everyone outside of class and offered a wide variety of extra credit for us to do. |
| he always asks which problems we didn't understand quite well |
| He's available even after office hours which is uncommon for a professor. There's plenty of ways for a student to take initiative to further one's understanding. |
| Offered lots of extra credit. Available via email, office hours and Starbuck! |
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
| Yes, I already have. This was the best math class I've ever taken. I normally never understand math, but I actually understood everything we were taught. This was my 5th try at getting my math credit, and I actually enjoyed comprehending everything. |
| definitely! i would encourage them to take his classes |
| yes, because it's very easy to get what I put in. |
| Yes. Enjoyed the class, Extra credit opportunities helped alot. |
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
| I enjoyed his tests, the multiple choice gave me more confidence in my answers. I also liked that he "dumbed" things down for the difficult things, and sometimes even the easy things. Most math teachers assume that we know certain things, or that they're teaching "math" kids. I liked that he didn't make those same assumptions. Most math teachers just seem to teach the subject and go through the motions, but it seemed like he really wanted us to understand it. He made it so that we could understand it well enough to use it in every day life. |
| he accpts his mistakes and always accommodating |
