15. What did you like most about your online course experience?
As a fulltime working student I need more courses that satisfy my degree online. This is probably the rare 300 series that fits my needs left.
very convenient
The course materials which were diverse and covered a broad spectrum of topics such as gender, race, globalism, and international politics. The instructor presented these materials in a cohesive manner and showed a passion for what she presented. I appreciated the fact that she responded in a timely manner to all queries, and guided the class towards insightful disussions while still encouraging us to present differing perspectives.
I loved the online discussions. It is a great way to save gas money, you know, with the economy the way it is right now and all.
the readings and assignments challenged my thinking
the flexibility I had while interning in DC.
As an on-line course it was challenging, because of the discipline that is needed. There were lot's of readings, reflections and feedback. If you are a warm and fuzzy type of person that needs to be in a class then this online class is not for you. The professor however is fabulous. She knows her subject and gives you great feedback.
I really liked the fact that as students we knew what to expect every week. The flow of the class was awesome and it enabled me to stay on course and get a lot out of the class.
I didnt have to wake up early to find parking. I also could do my work at my own convienence.
16. What did you like least about your online course experience?
Although Professor qualified each weekly assignment with the 'no minimim page requirement'. Turning in anything less than lengthy netted a lower grade. I also felt some of the questions were presented in a straight forward manner but if your response did not answer what wasn't asked it was graded lower. Felt like I was required to read her mind.
since it was online, it was up to me to do the readings, the work, etc, so i would put things off until the last minute, at times not even doing the work... this is what i dislike about online courses, but there's no one to blame but myself ... :p
Despite the fact that this was a non-writing intensive course, the amount of homeowrk that was assigned was abit excessive for a 300-level class. Still, much information was gleaned from this format.
It was all good.
sometimes it was hard to keep up with the work load of assignments and discussions
nothing that I can identify.
Having to comment on cohorts write ups and lots of readings.
Printing up articles was sometimes a hassel. But I do see the benefit in doing so, we read some great articles. Maybe we could purchase the bulk of them as a text next time.
Nothing, I like taking online courses now!
17. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
She's a good teacher and demands a lot from the students. I'll admit Women's Studies is not my focus and maybe that explains my less than gung ho dive into the subject matter but for those who are majoring in WS, she tries to expand your mind.
learning all the different roles, experiences, difficulties that women have gone through.
The instructor's choice in learning materials, and the freedom of expression that was encouraged while developing insight into the topics. The readings and diseeminated information was interesting and extremely well written. The instructor's choice of authorship was excellent!
The online discussions.
I liked the books we read, and the challenging questions asked by instructor.
I appreciated the diversification in reading material regarding feminism.
Not having to commute to Manoa from Mililani.
I really enjoyed the content of the course. Everything we read has already made a huge impact on me personally. Courses in women's issues ought to be required for graduation from college.
The discussion questions were good and I liked how it related to life as well and not just purely in the books.

19. State in two or three sentences how this course could be improved.
Either make this a writing intensive course so I at least get credit for the heavy writing assignments or pull back a bit.
Less writing assignment and more in depth discussion amongst students. Lonegr periods of time for assignment completion as to go further in depth for each subject, as to not feel so rushed.
Maybe an assignment every other week instead of each week. It was difficult to keep up because i did all of my courses online this semester.
nothing that I can identify.
It's a fabulous course due to the instructors feedback and participation. If it wasn't for her style of teaching then I would give the course a thumbs down. Since she is a fabulous teacher two thumbs up.
This was my favorite class of the semester. I can't think of improvements.
I thought the assignments and readings were very difficult for me. Not as much reading and answering questions would make this course more manageable since everyone still has other courses they have to take.
