keeping in mind what I learned about myself throughout the semester. I've never really felt "changed" by a course before, but I think pretty much 99% of the reason my attitude toward my job has changed is due to this class.
Getting me to actually write instead of saying that I was going to.
I'm not good at predicting the future.
looking back at the ways that it shaped my experiences in work/life writing and reading. This was my first time considering my own autobiography and it was a great experience that has hopefully made me a better writer and reader.
Doctor Henry's professionalism, intelligence, and perfect execution of the syllabus and overall course content.
Professor Henry's enthusiasm. I loved how approachable he was and how much time he took to critique each draft we did. Excellent teacher.

21. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
I enjoyed the variety of different things we had to do from the course. From the blogging to the response papers to the peer reviews, all the work was helpful in getting the point of the course across. I both learned and retained a lot of information, and the classroom discussions were engaging.
The writing aspects and peer editing.
I particularly enjoyed some of the blogging assignments, and working on the open-ended term project.
I liked that it was very organized and that the amount of work was managable.
The course, being split into two distinct sections, really focused on reading and learning about worklife writing and then applying that in our own worklife narrative. I didn't think I would have thought it possible, but I actually enjoyed the writing of my own narrative, though it was naturally enhanced and built upon the foundation of the first half of the course.
Preparation for application of learned skills beyond academia.
I liked the writing part the most; the many drafts we wrote and the feedback we gave to other students was really helpful in solidifying the writing process.
- Focus on individual effort - Helpful texts - Formatted for group discussion

22. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
Trying to figure out Laulima.
A couple of the reading assignments.
I wish we had more time at the end to write so that I could have added even more to my final project
The only thing about the course that was, at times, challenging, was the group work. One of my group members was not entirely responsive and I felt like it was not helping the project as much as it could have.
None; I truly liked every single thing about the course.

7. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
All of the projects we did made me a better writer.
The fact that the teacher made sure we understood certain material before moving on to the next. I also felt like I could go to the teacher whenever I had any questions which is a very valuable aspect in any course.
The professor and my peers were probably my most valuable resources. My peers had critiqued my works which had helped me improve my writing skills. The professor had given a lot of help with things that I had gotten stuck on and had checked on me to see how I was doing on a number of occasions. Also the peer mentor was available to me and had contributed much to the improvement of my writing and research abilities.
I think the relationship between Professor Jim and his students was most valuable. I really enjoyed the way he held his class in such a friendly and understanding manner. This created such a welcoming atmosphere for every class. I truly found a new enjoyment towards writing because of it.
I like that we could submit our assignments online.
Different approaches of writing and its styles, learning new skills, and brushing up on the ol' grammar rules.
The most important thing I gained from this course was improving on my writing skills. In this semester I feel that I was able to improve my writing skills a fair amount due to good teaching and advising.
I feel that he was a very good professor. I really got a lot out of this class.
having an opportunity to write and be graded.
The most valuable parts of this course for me were hearing the comments that the teacher, TA, and other students had for my compositions. I believe that I learned the most from this positive feedback and the areas I really need to work on in my writings.
I thought the writing mentor for our class was most valuable. There were many valuable things in this course but I think without the help of our writing mentor, Lehua, we may have not been able to get as far as we did. Lehua really helped us inside and outside of the classroom and she was a great contribution to our class.
The entire idea and writing process.
8. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
When we did the research paper, although I found the first library seminar helpful, all of the other ones did not really help me.
I felt like the assignments came at us one after the other. Sometimes it even felt like they overlapped and we needed to get them done at the same time. I think if the time period for each assignment was expanded, we would've learned even more than we initially did.
I found that everything we had gone through was of value
Maybe some of the visits or workshops at Hamilton library were the least valuable. Although some of the workshops were extremely useful, others were based on information that I already knew.
I did not like that we had to make an e-portfolio. I thought it was a waste of time.
Absolutely nothing.
Everything was of value.

I thought everything was pretty valuable in this course. Nothing really stands out to me as unimportant.
I honestly thought everything in this course had a value, but if I could pin point a least valuable thing I would say that SOME of the library workshops were unnecessary. I feel like they possibly could have been condensed so we wouldn't need to go to so many and have more class time. I still strongly feel that the library workshops were helpful though.

9. Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by ...
My first year in Hawaii and this was one of my best classes my first semester here.
The fact that we had so much peer review editing opportunities. For each assignment we were required to read each others work and provide feedback, and I felt this was a great opportunity to learn about other types of writing styles. It was also a great way to communicate with other students.
The pieces I have written, the course focus of sustainability and the professor for his help whenever needed.
the enjoyment that I discovered. This course made me find a new passion in writing. I used to see it as just some homework assignment that needs to be completed, but during this course I looked forward to every assignment. I found excitement in applying new aspects like semicolons (I never really understood the use of those prior to this class). I enjoyed the access I had to other student's writing pieces. I got to view their styles and techniques and use them to modify mines.
I don't know if i will remember this course in ten years.
My professor. He's a interesting character and that made the course interesting. The class was based on sustainability and that alone was a different class that I'd ever taken. This is only my freshman year and my professor introduced me in composing my first college papers to be written. Through out the semester I was forced to step out of my comfort zone and in the long run, I will take my experiences and know that it's better to explore than to stay reserved and in status quo.
Remembering how much writing we had to do and how it challenged me.
E-Portfolios
the assignments
its focus on sustainability. Through this class, I have been encouraged greatly through my teacher and my research to become a "greener" being. Some of the things I wrote about are now being practiced in my life, and I hope these sustainable actions will stick with me throughout the future.
Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by the amount of effort I put into it. I felt like this course pushed me to produce some of my best work yet and I think I will always remember that. I also think I will remember fully learning about sustainability and where my knowledge of it began.

13. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
The most valuable aspect of the course was the blending of C&R Theory with the practice of mentoring. I found myself repeatedly incoporating strategies I learned in class in my mentoring conferences. More importantly, I felt like my research paper was a great success, alhtough I am still trying to figure out if this was merely a result of the instructor's implementation of movtivational teaching strategies, or if I actually found something worth writing about.
In-class discussions and the collaborative method in which we worked.
Developing my e-portfolio was probably the most valuable aspect of the course in terms of producing something that I will be able to use for my own professional development in the future. I also found the research component of the course helpful in expanding my knowledge of the field; however, I think that a little more emphasis on reading material would have been helpful.
All of it. Although I felt lost a few times with the Laulima website, the instructor always slowed down to accomodate me.
Developing the e-portfolio helped me to begin thinking of my education as part of my career/professional development. I also enjoyed the readings, being that comp/rhet is not my focus.
The aspects most valuable to me were the readings, course work, class discussions, and individual conferences with the instructor. All of these have improved my understanding of the field of composition and influenced my own writing pedagogy. Also, I feel and know I am a more competent writing instructor and professional. All of the work I've done in this course will continue to grow as I continue towards my academic and professional goals.
14. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
The initial reading assignments, although informative, produced a lot of anxiety in me, partly because I identified strongly with the "basic writers" discussed in the articles. I kept thinking about my own shortcomings a as writer and it became very difficult to write anything. As consequence, I spent ridiculous amounts of time on the reading responses, without coming up with anything interesting to say.

I don't think there were any "least valuable" aspects of the course. At times I felt that the collaborative website could have been worked on primarily from our homes (via email or discussion board messages) rather than in-class, as I think the time might have been more suitable for discussing reading material or research projects.
hmmm . . . really can't think of any.

15. Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by ...
I will remember this course mostly for the positive atmosphere and the encouragement I received from my classmates and the instructor during a very challenging first semester.
Building the mentor's website to help future mentors, instructors, and students.
I will likely remember the course by the people who were in the course, representing different areas of concentration and contributing to the course accordingly. The diverse areas of interest contributed to a wide range of research projects that I found interesting.
what I learned regarding the "writing process," and the camaradarie among students and professor :-)
Prof. Henry was knowledgeable about composition and his insights and readings proved invaluable for me as an instructor.
