Professor Patu is an excellent instructor. Being of Samoan decent, I learned so much about my culture, besides just the language itself. He went into detail about our culture's rituals, lifestyle in Samoa, etc. I would definitely recommend this course to those that have a passion for wanting to learn about their Samoan heritage.
Great teacher. His passion/ entheusiasm was expressed and it made the class fun. When teachers care and are passionate it makes the experience a better one :) Learned a lot about the culture that I never knew, and gave me a new appreciation for Samoan culture.

Nikko really made this class a challenge for some but we got a lot out of it. He wentinto depth with his teachings and did a great job of trying to get the class to understand the culture and language of Samoan.
I liked having John Patu as my samoan teacher. I liked that he was fair, was clear with instructions, and stuck to his word. I thought this course was graded fairly and was really based on the student's effort.
Niko John Patu is an amazing instructor. It was a little sad that we had so many athletes who were in our class, and weren't the best sometimes. However, I learned a lot of interesting and new concepts in this class, even with living in Samoa for years.
