17. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
It is apparant that she enjoys teaching and enjoys helping students do the best that they can. Being available for students is her main strength.
Her major strengths as a teacher was she really knew her course and was willing to go the extra mile to help her students to understand the spanish culture.
Major strengths include: gives out individual progress reports at least twice a month, very fun (gets you to participate a lot), very knowledgeable of the subject taught and flexibility with availability.
very understanding to students needs and concerns
Linde Keil's major strengths are her ability to teach the information in a way that's effective for learning while making it interesting.
she loves spanish
Her major strengths are her knowledge of the language and being able to share her experiences with the class as well as explain the different areas of the Spanish speaking world.
she was always willing to help students with their work and we were able to get extra help from her via e-mail or by going to her office.
Communication and very understanding.
She is adores the Spanish language and is a wonderful teacher that brings great enthusiasm and demonstrates a love for teaching. She makes herself very accessible to her students who need extra support, encourages student participation and shows great care and concern for her students while making the class fun!
Her major strength in my opinion is her passion for the Spanish language. It permeates through her skin as she teaches her class which is refreshing. Some professors will teach and show no emotion at all which is disheartening because if your professor shows no passion for the subject they teach, how can a student possibly be?
Professor Keil's love for the Spanish language is easily seen through her fun and passionate teaching. She has a liveliness to her that is not easily attained at 7:55 in the morning. She makes dull assignments fun and exciting with her unique teaching style.
None
18. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Have more of a "game plan" for classes, i think sometimes we get caught up in other areas rather than working on assignments and lectures.
No changes! Professor Keil is doing an excellente job on educating her students.
No changes, just sometimes homework and classwork are not clearly stated if they need to be turned in. Therefore, sometimes turning in late homework and classwork due to miscommunication.
I think that the class should be graded on a pass or fail grade and work on conversational speech
None, I liked the way she teached the course.
donʻt grade homework like youʻre trying to fail students
I would not, she is one of the best teachers i have ever had.
maybe to explain the text more as not everyone is too familiar with many of the spanish words, but she did give us worksheets to help us along the way.
Nada
None. She is wonderful. I have taken her for Spanish 101 and 102.
I would not recommend any changes to her teaching style. She cares for her students and wishes for all of her pupils to succeed. While it may seem to some that the amount of homework she assigns may be excessive, I feel it is a necessary evil considering the difficulty of learning a different language. Without daily practice, it can be easy to forget much of the material you previously learned.
None.
Too many oral presentations!!
19. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Constantly making available extra points(with a limit), asking for students to ask her for help. Constantly gave extra material for students to find better ways to study and work in school.
She would let her students know what progress we have made by giving us progress reports. As there was any mistakes she would always be there to make sure it was corrected. Also her office was always available for students who has hard time understanding or need turoring.
Professor Keil showed concern when students would not turn in assignments and when progress sheets of the course were passed out. She will approach you if you are not doing so well in the class to figure out why.
office hours and email
She showed concern for students by being available for them when they needed her and helped us with whatever was necessary for assignments and projects.
She let us know the areas that we needed work on, and was always willing to help us out in those areas.
she would always encourage us to go to her office for extra help or to use email. She always gave us a progress report to let us see how we are doing in class.
If students didn't their work, she was always available after class to talk about it.
She promotes her willingness to be available to help students after class, she is continually providing students with resources for learning opportunities outside of the classroom environment, she updates students with progress reports throughout the class and reminds students the importance of valuing their education.
For starters she never hesitated to help any student, with any problem, at any time. Whether it be after or during class, she will put forth her best effort in order to try an convey a message to a student who may be having trouble learning a particular concept. No question is ever turned away and always using positive reinforcement to keeps a students' spirit high.
Professor Keil demonstrates a genuine concern for her students that is rare among professors.

20. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, I think she opens elementry Spanish in a way that is not imtimidating and fun for students to get involved. Although I think that some times it comes off as over bearing, I would rather have that then someone that doesnt care at all how their students do.
Yes I would LOVE to recommend Professor Keil to students because she very excellente teacher and she knows how to communicate effectively with her students. She tries her best to help her student suceed.
I would recommend students to Professor Keil. She is a very knowledgeable teacher, very fun and organized professor. She cares for her students and will take the time to help you if you need/ask for it.
yes. good teacher and worked well with students
Yes, because she has passion in teaching Spanish. She wants you to be able to understand and speak the language. She puts all her effort into seeing you succeed not only in her class, but others too.
Yes I would recommend her and have, because I have had many spanish teachers, and she is the best.
yes, because she understands what students have to go through for school and that we also have work. She lets us have extra time to do our homework.
Of course. She makes Spanish very fun to learn!
Yes, she is a great teacher who relates well with students.
I would, she creates a great learning environment and employs different techniques to help students remember words and structures. I had her for both Spanish 101 and 102 and have enjoyed both semesters very much. Too bad she is not teaching 201 next semester.
Yes! Many students take a second language for the sole purpose of completing the requirements and do not necessarily have a passion for the language. After taking this class I can guarantee that they will love Spanish!
NA
21. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Enthuisatic, fun, energetic, avaialable at all times.
Professor Keil is an Awesome teacher. She gets her students active in doing fun activity such as the skit and orals. Having her a my spanish teacher made me look at the outside world a lot better. I she not only spanish vocab and meaning but she taught us where spanish is also spoken and the culture itself.

She is one of the best teachers I've taken so far and one of the most dedicated to her profession. Truly a professional in her field.
This is my second and final class with her, and I am going to miss her as my teacher.
she is a very happy teacher and has patience with her students.
Great teacher!
That passion cannot be taught or faked. She loves the language she teaches and that makes it easier to learn. I hope she will teach 201 next semester, I would definitely enroll.

22. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
HEr energy that she brings to class really helps for a subject that some students have a lot of difficulties with.
As stated in #17.
understanding of workload
Linde Keil's major strengths are her ability to teach the information in a way that's effective for learning while making it interesting.
See question 17.
that she gave us a guideline for our work that we were doing and that she always had time to help her students, like office time.
She makes it fun to learn.
She is adores the Spanish language and is a wonderful teacher that brings great enthusiasm and demonstrates a love for teaching. Read answer to question 17
She loves the material that she teaches and is revving to go every morning.

23. Other comments:
I feel as though sometime she grades on a curve with out actually grading on a curve. Meaning she grades different students differently based on what she thinks their skill level is. Other than that, she is a good intro spanish teacher.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She demonstrates her lectures very well and uses clever examples. She also makes learning fun.
Very accessible and friendly, knew subject are and was willing to answer questions
An Extraordinary teacher. Linde Keil's experience with the Spanish language is wonderful. She was one of those people who were born to teach. a strength she had was she would make the class fun, extremely enjoyable which motivated students to continue learning.
She cared for her students and allowed the class to learn together. It easy never easy for any student to strictly understand the course material by themselves. She had paired us up as students to practice our conversations in a whole different language.
She makes learning Spanish fun and engaging.
Her major strengths as a teacher are her ability to teach the language in a way that anyone could understand, and have fun while learning. She teaches the materials necessary to speak and write the language.
She cares about every student and wants each one to succeed so she takes time with every student that needs help.
I think her strength is knowing the language, that helps us greatly when we have a question or are confused and she is able to help us out immediately.
-her high energy, make it exciting -the way she explain what is not to do, and what is to do meaning examples -she interact with the students and have a good sense of humor -the music is awesome especially in the morning. -enjoyed the fact that she gives us study guide for our exams -as for our dued assignments i rather have it dued monday @ midnight on one day. -her flexibility with the students in assignments and depending certain projects.
She truly loves the language, which is not her native language. She really pushes participation.
She knows the culture and languages of Spanish real good.
She is very passionate about spanish.
She tried to always show us an easier way to speak Spanish and to teach us tricks of how to get the grammar right. She gave us handouts of the lesson and a list of the words and grammar we were learning.
Her major strengths are keeping the material fun. He has great energy when teaching the class. She is also very helpful. She goes above and beyond to do her best to make sure you have a fair chance to grasp the material.
Compassion
Keil knows her subject very well. She is inspiring to students and motivates them to be actively engaged in learning. She is a wonderful asset to KCC. So glad to be able to have had the opportunity to be in her class. I am taking her class next semester for Spanish 102!
I would have to say that her kindness would be one. She treated every student with respect and fair. Another would be her teaching methood. Professor Keil was pretty much always on point and had each day planned out. There would be some surprises on some days but that was just to spice things up.
She is very concerned with her students knowing the course material. The tougher subjects received more attention and gave her best effort to make sure everyone was familiar with the material.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Nothing.
Probably some more homework to understand alot more words. but i dont think thats professor Linde Keil's problem, its the book we use + online homework is not enough to teach us a semesters worth.
I have no changes.
Make the course a little bit more difficult.
I wouldn't make any changes.
None, she knows how to connect with the students and to teach effectively.
I would not change a thing, I have learned more in this spanish class than any other I have ever taken, and I have taken alot.
-if she would check out the online assignments and do it herself to see if their any errors in the computer program system. - the syllabus stated in the online assignments it says (you must complete a 100% of assigned in order to get full credit=50pts/(there is 2 ways of looking at it, so i saw it as if you try your best to complete all assignments you get 50 pts, but it is base on the number of wrong you get on the assignments and the number of assignments you completed, also meaning you have complete all the assignments but not get 100% grade on them she will still give you 50pts) -I also didn't understand on the syllabus near the Grading part for HOMEWORK 6 assignments @ 25pts (I thought it was just 6 assignments online not 6 assignments for each chapter.) -some of the online assignment that we had, it was hard to find the answer like the map questions, as well as the fill in the blanks and you have guess what goes in the middle. I didn't expect that, because we didn't learn certain stuff that was online in class. -when the progress report come out for our overall grade it does not state the extra point earn on the report.beside the writing in pen saying its not included. It does not have its own category. -wish testes and quizzes were multiply choice and a few writing sentences.
None, perfect
N/A
no changes
No she gave us lot of changes to get the work done and was always willingly to help us with our Spanish work.
Sometimes she make small mistakes with assignments, nothing major at all. I think she should continue doing what she does.
None. She is excellent in every way.
I would suggest that she maybe give a little more review for the test and quizs because its a little different for languages. She has a good amount of class work but a little review day or sheet would help a lot more so us students can know what we need work on and what we need to focus on. Also if it is possiable to print out papers instead of always having to go online would be nice. Not all students go on the computer every night.
I thought the class was structured well and no changes would be necessary.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She talked to a student after class if she had any concerns regarding to their grade.
ewnt out of her way to help students after class and accommodate them
She would always pull a student aside and help, she has great office hours and she will help you to the end.
She accepted the fact that some students needed more help than others and changed the syllabus where all of the class could keep up while covering the new materials.
Asked how everybody doing daily.
She showed concern for students by helping us understand the material we didn't get until we understood them clearly. She always asks if we have any questions and makes sure we get the work done. She's open to helping you out during her office hours when needed.
She'll make exceptions for the people that have the need for them and she'll take time out of her schedule to help each student.
If we were struggling in a particular area, she noticed it and would ask us if we need additional help.
-she will address the student her concern -she will stated it on the assignment if needed -she will sometime reassign (just for that time being) a student to sit next to a little bit more advance student in class for help when doing in class assignments.
She was very helpful with questions.
N/A
by being available, having lots of office hours
She would give us chances to improve our work and offered to help her students during office hours.
She showed concern by giving students plenty of time to do work, grade assignments right away so that we can study. She wnet over all assignments. For people lacking she offers some extra credit that directly relates with spanish.
She makes it known that she has time available to help students at any time, she is very responsive through email as well.
She was the type of professor that showed concern by leading a hand to a student that need it. She made sure that all the students got the material and if they did not, that she would help after class if need be. Also she gave out progress reports to let us students know how we were doing and what our grades look like.
She spent extra time in class and after class answering questions about problem topics that students had. Also having a progress report to show how well or how poor they might have been doing shows more concern than most other professors.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, she is very reasonable and understands her students.
Yes, you learn in her class
Yes! Definitely!
Yes because she is very optimistic that she will get all of her students to enjoy this course.
Yes.
I would recommend her to students because she teaches in a way that anyone could understand. You just have to put in the effort.
I would recommend her to everyone who wants to take a language because she makes Spanish easy to understand.
I would recommend her, she is an excellent teacher.
yes, i would recommend her as a teacher because of her major strength(listed in question 13) and how she shows her concern for a student. just in generally I would tell the student that Spanish 101, is not you basic just vocab class, its more then that. if that student just maybe if took spanish for 4yrs in high school it would payoff. but if you didnt then..it depends on what teacher you had in high school and how much they taught you.
Yes. She's a fabulous lady.
Yes I would recommend Ms.Keil to students who want to take a spanish course because she is really knows the subject and she invites her student who has a difficult time to her office and does one on one teaching, so that her students can understand more of the subject
yes because she loves what she does and you can see that it inspires you to learn and want more
Yes because she is patient and is always willing to help her students.
Yes, because she is very fair and you will have a good shot of not just getting through spanish which is a required by most, but you will actually learn something. She makes the material easy to understand.
Yes very
Yes! She has a passion for the Spanish language and is a wonderful teacher. She brings humor to the classroom and is very helpful if you need additional help.
Yes I would recommend Professor Kiel to students because she is a really awesome teacher. She is funny but yet she finds a way to get her point across. She is a fair teacher that shows a kind heart to those who are doing good or bad.
Definitely, she is a good professor and she tries her best to make sure that all students in her class get the necessary help in order to succeed.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
She's a good teacher.
No further comments.
Nada.
She's a great teacher that is passionate about her work and teaching it to students.
I would like to say that I am going to try and take her class for spanish 102.
-GREAT TEACHER, a few hard online assignments for a 101 Spanish class just maybe if you took Spanish for 4yrs in high school it would payoff. but if you didn't then..it depends on what teacher you had in high school and how much they taught you.
She's Great!
na
She is fun energetic and truly enjoys teaching those qualties come through everyday i had class with her. I would rather pay for teachers like her then nasty old people that seem like they dont even want to teach(there are a few is KCC).
KCC is lucky to have her!
I would just like to say that Professor Keil is a really good person and I admire her for all she did for me this semester. I was not one of her better students but she was a great motavitor and helped me to see what I need to do to get back on track. She didnt cut me any breaks but just told me that I can do it and I believed her and did it.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Being energetic and making the class energetic.
she explains everything thoughly
She provides a fun yet challenging atmosphere for learning.
She knows the language inside and out,and has lived in the places where they speak the language which helps her to communicate it to the students.
Knowledgable, nurturing, positive interaction with students. incorporates multiple learning techniques.
she works well with the students to make sure they understand assignments
Linde Keil provides a fun learning environment and makes the class fun.
One of her major strenghts are that she has a good system of teaching a different language. She's concerned for her students and encourages us to come to class. Another strength is, she makes class interesting and fun without going off subject.
One of the reason's that I took Sra Keil's class for 101 and 102 is because she really cares about her students and wants us to succeed. She is always there to offer support, and she understands that unexpected circumstances come up - student's get sick, flat tires happen, but as long as we stay on top of our work she is usually pretty forgiving of us. That is unique in a professor. Many of them are jaded, and Sra. Keil is not. I appreciate that.
Always willing to help students with any questions and her passion for the culture was extremely motivating and exciting. She exposed us to not only grammar and sentance structure, but music, culture, film, dance, and more! By promoting us to take part in the culture week, we were allowed to express ourselves through the new language and learn about others.
Her major strengths as a teacher is showing compassion for her students. She understands that we may run into trouble with family, or stress at work and she works with us to make things work.
Linda Keils major strengths was always supporting students to try harder, and encouraging them to actually learn the material
She is a really nice teacher, knows her subject really well. She is very organized and always encourage students to learn. Hope to have her for next semester again!
She know's spanish very well and she love's to teach. Keil makes it interesting and enjoyable to learn.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none.
perhaps to not give homework on the day before an exam so as not to destract from the test
Less online homework
she can be confusing at times. a lot of the homework for 101 and 102 was not clearly explained until after it was due. we would not do well on the homework or online work because most of the time we wouldn't learn how to do the work until after we got it wrong. we were later taught the right way for the tests but our homework grades suffered.
i feel like the class needs to be a little bit more organized
Some of the homework didn't seem like it was necessary on the subject we were learning in class.
none. She does an awesome job.
Perhaps more sentance structure and talking in class, as most is done on the internet and we aren't sure if it is correct or not.
I suggest doing a skit at the end of the year, to end the year in a fun way :) . skits really open up thoughs who are shy.
To be a little more organized. On some days we did some random activities that i did not expect
none.
On the harder subjects, give more explains if the students dont understand. Some times she kind of moves fast and it's hard to catch up.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Asked how their day went.
she allowed students to submit late homework and to make corrections to homework for a better grade
She always sends emails, and makes good comment on our homework. She gets to know us all as people, we arent just a class. we are individuals to her.
in many ways. she encourages participation and tries to make the students feel comfortable. she takes it very personally when students skip class. she is very kind and courteous. and exhibits her genuine concern for us daily.
sent out progress reports, stayed after class for help
She would talk to students to help them.
If one student misses class, she'll follow up with them when they return or ask fellow classmates about that student. She also has us write on paper for some feedback and we can make it anonymous.
Always ask us how we are doing, giving us progress reports and promoting us to talk with her about any concerns weather it be stress or just clarification regarding a lesson.
She would personally go up to you if she notices a change in mood with you, too see if anything is bothering us as students.
she showed concern for students by noting down our mistakes on quizzes ,compositions, homework, and online work on a piece of paper and telling us how we can improve on it.
She inform students of their grades and is always there in her office hours.
She gives out progress reports frequently, to show students where there at.

Please teach 201 and 202 so we can continue on with the same teacher! I don't want to switch teachers.
She is truly a wonderful, positive spirit. She has a great energy and KCC faculty and students are lucky to have her among their school ohana.

She is nice and funny! She makes nice atmosphere to students and class. Her lecture is fun and easy to understand :)
She is very passionate about teaching and wants everyone to succeed.

Sra Keil has a lot of major strengths as a teacher, she's able to keep the subject interesting and doesn't go off subject. She's able to keep me engaged and makes class participation fun with her expressions and TPR. Her fun attitude, style and structor of teaching helps me to understand and learn.
Eager, motivated and passionate
Linde Keil's major strength was she knew Spanish very well. She is a very good teacher.
She really cares about her students, and that is something we so rarely. I am used to teachers thinking of their students as nuisances, but Senora genuinely cares about her student's success in the class and it is inspiring. I wish more professor's could be like her.
Her strengths as a teacher is being able to make up fun ways for the student to learn and understand what is being taught. Another strength she has, is being able to provide helpful ways to remember certain things.
Enthusiasm and understanding
15. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None I can think of.
More worksheets for homework instead of online workbook.
On the harder parts we learned, maybe spend more time on them to help us understand the material better.
Perhaps more practicing the sentances on how to form them.
None
none.
more talking. we didn't get many opportunities to speak in spanish unless it was to our partner and neither of us knew if we were pronouncing the words correctly. It would benefit to have the students read out loud more.
I think we should do more practices on forming sentences in Spanish.
More fiestas!
NONE
More spanish interaction/assignments
16. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She was lovely and very helpful.
Meets with students if they are struggling.
She gave us progress reports through out the semester, which helped us know exactly where we stood.
Ask us for our opinions and moved slow enough for us to fully comprehend.
She was available out of class and assisted the needs of any students that needed help.
Sra Keil returned my E-mails in a timely manner, she asked the class some question of how we felt we were doing if we had any concerns and turned it in on a piece of paper.Sra Keil always tried to give us pointers and methods of studying.
She was there after class to help us if we needed help.
She was so thoughtful about helping students. If anyone lagged behind she took extra time outside of class time to help them. She is always so prompt with responding to emails or phone calls, and she constantly gave us progress reports. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, even if they are clearly not good students.
She told us that its understandable for a student to have a hard time in class because the student could be involved with work, having family problems/situations and how the student could be destracted. She would show concern to all her students.
By helping them, being accessible
17. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

She always listens to our questions and answers them well. She is very prepared and knows the subject really well.
she is very kind and fair, she makes learning fun and ineresting. she adds lots of variety in her teaching techniques to keep it exciting.
She knew the subject very well and came to class well prepared. She was always ready to teach.
She is very engaging and is very helpful and patient with students.
her knowledge of the subject.
The teacher is able to teach the class fairly well, especially when Spanish is not her first language. Teacher is always prepared and offers extra credit to all students. Her abiltiy to teach the students is very good, as a student I was surprised how much I have learned over a short period of time.
This is my first time talikng language class and I was kinda nervous at the beginning but Senora Keil provides friendly atmosphere so I really enjoy taking spanish class. The best thing about her is her personality. She is very friendly, understanding and encouraging. I really like her and I am glad that she is my first Spanish teacher if not, I would not like Spanish cuz it is very difficult... I highly recommend this professor to anybody!!!!! I will miss her class soooo much!!!!
Knows how to teach in a way easy for an intro class. Very understanding and approachable.
Senora Keil was always prepared. I could tell that she spent a lot of time grading papers and preparing hand out, videos and music. She made the class very fun and I wish she would teach Spanish 102.
preparing for class, and explaining in detail what goals are to be met at certain deadlines.
Really the nicest instructor I've come across. She makes class a lot of fun and very interesting. She works outside of the book which makes learning easier. She brings in funny videos, different things she has collected from her traveling, and stories all related, of course, to the subject at hand.
Fun attitude and cares about the students.
She knew her area very well and i could tell that she had a lot of background in spanish. I learn a fairly good amount
she was a very understanding professor, very helpful whenever she noticer youwere struggling. also very kind.
17. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
If I were to give and suggestions it would be that we play more games to make learning spanish fun.
nice and patient at times, should be more consistent with attitude
Nothing!
she should teach spanish 102 as well.

No changes needed.
Although the teacher does give out extra credit for students who can attend her Spanish Club, perhaps give out even oppurtunity for students who cannnot attned the Spanish Club, due to school or work.

19. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Well for one she picked out the students who did not have their books open and told them to pay attention.
let us know what needed to be corrected
she uses her own time to help students out when they needed it.
She would hand us progress reports which helped a lot and she offered extra credit for coming to the club meetings.
she would always give options for extra credit and offer ways for help and tutoring.
Informed everybody to not miss class
Understanding of student issues and by encouraging extra help if needed.
Progress reports were given out, and she even gave seating assigntments which were assined to help each others out.
If she has problems, she will e-mail us individually.
Made sure that we all knew all our options; taught in many different ways (visual, hands on, lecture, etc.)
If someone was doing poorly, she paid more attention to them and made sure they were participating.
She always made little comments for us on notecards or on our paper to improving our work for the future.
I believe she lives to be concerned about her students. She shows her concern every step of the way.
By extending due dates frequently.
She answers any questions that students had.
she would ask you if you were have any troubles at work interfiering with school and just to help around that.
