12. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
The basics of economics was valuable.
The applications to everyday life and to policy decisions on a wider scale.
The basic economic principles that were I found to be very applicable.
The powerpoints helped a lot.
I gained a lot of knowledge about the economy and how it works. I learned to think like an economist. The games we played were great because it gave us a hands on way of learning the material. Also, video clips that were played in class allowed us to see the material portrayed in different ways.
13. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
Everything was important.
The in-class exercises and some of the more common-sense lecture points (supply & demand, first week or so of class, really). For a few of the in-class exercises I didn't think we had gone over the practical, problem-solving aspects of the concepts prior to getting the questions, so more time was wasted trying to figure out how to even approach the problem than was necessary. Both gripes are probably exacerbated by the truncated nature of the summer course.
