7. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
The worksheets/ handouts were very useful in learning the grammar points.
being able to learn from a native speaker
Everything!
oral and written test. really put the pressure
All the handouts were very helpful practice for the grammar points we were learning.
I enjoyed writing my script for the oral exam and writing a letter to a friend because I get to write whatever I want using the grammar points that I've learned thus far.
All.
I think the cultural aspects were the most important. By learning cultural aspects, I understand why and how to write and speak Korean a little better.
Korean language?
Lecture was good. She went over grammar points well and made us participate in class and with eachother.
8. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
Workbook corrections seemed to be the least valuable. It was useful in the sense that it allowed students to have the correct answers for when they study for exams, but when making the corrections to turn back in, students would often just copy down the right answers without bothering to look to see why they got what they did wrong.
nothing in particular
Nothing!
grammar quizzes. oddly korean has grammar quizzes while japanese does not. It seems as if in Japanese you are just supposed to know it and not have to tested on simple things, while korean has to check on the basics.
I didn't find anything that was unecissary to what was being learned.
None.
I can't say that anything was the least valuable. Everything had a purpose.

ì? ì??ë?? is a passionate teacher who makes sure you do your work and study. When your not doing well in the class, she makes time after school to help you with your problem in Korean which was very helpful.
thanks OH for great semester

Still the best instructor I've had in college.
êµ?ì??ë?? ì?¤ê²½ì?? was my professor for 101 as well. I love her teaching style. She is patient and relates to the students. Even if the syllabus is strict, she still gives us an opportunity to learn and show her that we want to learn. I wish she was my personal teacher.
Very good job! I would type Korean in here if I knew how to type Korean on my keyboard. I liked your personality while teaching, you were very open and very friendly in your descriptions. It made learning very fun! Hopefully you are my Korean 202 sunsengnim. Thank you!
Very nice teacher that was understanding and considerate to her students both individually and as a class. Class time is structured well. She is easily approachable and gives help when asked for. I would recommend her to other students looking to take this class.

7. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
Taking time to really go over things is helpful. Even though it can seem a bit tedious at times to keep repeating things and going over things multiple times, it really helps to better learn the material.
Everything we learned in class was very valuable and can be used in real life situations.
Grammar and conversational points. Vocabulary can only get you so far, but being able to put it all together is what I always feel is most important, and I learned how to do that very effectively.
Dictation! It really helped me understand speech better.
8. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
I thought everything was relatively valuable. I personally am I bit disappointed that the three midterms combined are only 10% of the final grade and find it a little weird that its worth the same amount as vocab quizzes, as well as many other sections.

One of the best teachers if not, THE BEST teacher I've had this semester! She's very fun, easy to understand, helpful, and nice. And I recommend anyone taking KOR 101 to take her class. :)
She is a great instructor, very engaging and knows exactly how to help us if we need it. The best language class I've ever had and I feel like I've learned more in here than in my three years of another language.

7. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
I felt I learned a lot of Korean, and my skills, particularly speaking, rapidly improved
Learning vocabulary and grammar.
The workbook done throughout the whole semester were very useful in aiding us out of class.
I thought our constant practicing of the grammar helped me
Weekly quizzes, practicing Korean in class
All of it, including the culture tips, we're extremely useful to me.
continual repetition with grammar points.
THE DICTATIONS REALLY HELPED WITH THE CLASS GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY
I think incorporating the Korean culture while learning the language were most valuable. After we talked about how a group of college students arranged meetings in which boys and girls could meet, we did a class activity in which one half of the class had to give our teacher an item like a pencil and the other half of the class picked a pencil and we had to find our partner and practice conversations. I thought that this was very fun and a good way to get a little bit of the experience in the Korean culture.
The weekly vocab tests
8. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?
The class could have moved faster and the explanations of grammar were weak and sometimes overly technical sometimes the timing of the tests and homeworks were very strange (i.e. we have a quiz the day after we learn the material) The teacher was great but I felt (having learned Japanese, which has similar grammar, in the past) that the textbook grammar explanations in particular were very hard to understand and were generally lacking. If I had no knowledge of Japanese before I think I would have struggled.
Memorizing the conversations in the book.
The dictations honestly didn't help much.
I didn't like how little time we had to further explain some of the things, I also wish we learned more about culture
N/A
No part of it, as far as I was concerned, was of least to no value to me.
conversation memorization.
THE CONVERSATIONS. THEY WERE A WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS MEMORIZE THEM. IT WAS LIKE MEMORIZING SET "DIALOGUES" WHICH CANNOT REALLY BE APPLIED OUTSIDE.
Everything was valuable.
I did not enjoy memorizing the conversations. I would have rather had a conversation about a subject.

I truly enjoyed taking Korean 101 with my instructors.

This class is structured differently from other language classes in which all the grammar points for the week are given in one day and the rest of the days are used to review and practice those grammar points. I liked it. I had a good experience overall.
This was a hard class, but Kyoung Won Oh did her best to help all the students equally. I really felt the desire she had for us all to get A's.
