2. If this course was taken to fulfill course requirements for your concentration/major, how did this course enhance your personal and/or professional development in your concentration/major?
|
| It gave me a better understanding the different types of business issues out there. It was used to fulfill an upper division 300 elective. |
| Very efficient in educating me on business issues which may arise |
| By helping me learn to recognize ethical decisions and giving me methods and frameworks to evaluate my options in coming to a decision. |
| This course provided me with the necessary skills to enhance my public speaking and presenting performances. I was also taught how to perform research and present my findings in a non-biased way. By not taking sides, I was able to grow as a person, professional, and student by seeing the big picture and not just one side of an issue; the side favored. What I really enjoyed about this class was being able to listen to my fellow classmates presentations. Because my fellow classmates gave different perspectives and took different approaches to a situation, which I learned from. |

16. Please list your suggestions for improving the course and/or the instructor's teaching style and methods.
|
| more discussions |
| I realize that this course was an orally focused course so oral presentations were a requirement. My suggestion would be that if possible: reduce the two 20 min presentations to multiple in-class presentations/discussions on the topics presented in the book. Students would be assigned a topic, would have to read about it, and explain it to the class, then open it up for discussion.
This would help those in the class who are not comfortable with oral presentations as they would get more opportunities to work on their skills rather than just having two presentations that are rather long. Having twice as many presentations, but of shorter length would help them overcome their reservations. |
| I really like how you took student feedback from exams and used that data to improve on your exams. This shows that you care about your students success. I've learned a lot from this course. |

17. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
|
| He is a very straight forward teacher. He tries to answer questions as best as he can and tries to help out whenever we have questions. |
| excellent professor |
| A very good professor. Overall I am impressed with the quality of the course. |
| Great teacher, smart, very easy going, always listens to his students. These aspects are hard to find in teachers now days. He demonstrates, in his presentations, what he wants you to accomplish in yours. Improve speaking, grammar, pronunciation, audience interaction, constructive feedback. When he made us watch ourselves, for our first in-class presentation, it was brutal. But I learned a lot from that. |
| He is a good professor and I would recommend him to any student who is
thinking about taking this course. |
